Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau Privée

Privee -- "Private" moments indeed. For the intention for which this juice is made, it is very lovely. Moments for when you just want to get cozy smelling tastefully and lightly scented with whomever you want to be cozy. I love it upon first application. I can smell the Sweet Mandarin and Grasse Rose immediately. The lush Jasmine I detect a few minutes later. There is no Patchouli in this which is ever present in the other formulations of CM. So if you tried the original but it had too much Patchouli for your taste this may be for you. Privee is a cloud of extreme femininity no doubt. This juice has a remarkable ladylike Old World feel to me. The Musk with the floral notes in this is what gives off that vibe I suppose. It is not the usual Musk here either which can make me choke a bit. This Musk is elegant and light. I can handle this. This formulation of CM which is an EDT is not that long lasting as some have said. I agree with that. It is about an hour to two hours. The sillage is gorgeous at first and not overpowering. It ends up staying within arms length then it seemingly vanishes. However, I did notice that when I get a bit heated up it peeks out at me again. I attribute that to the Musk and Jasmine. I rarely mention flacons because the juice is what really matters. However, the frosted bottle is worthy of mentioning. I bought the 100ml bottle and regardless of the size it is soft and feminine looking which is fitting for the juice within. It looks great on my vanity but stands out from most of the other Chanels I own minus Coco Noir. I appreciate Privee for the reason it is made. The composition is beautiful. This is not supposed to be strong. It is ladylike and understated. That is just fine with me and my love.

Amazing start, so refreshing, delightful and still soft and feminine. Ultra-feminity. Every time I wear any of the Coco Mademoiselle range I wonder why do I bother with any other scent :) I suppose, it holds more ingredients than listed, however fresh rose petals, a bit of jasmine, mandarin to make them sparkle, musk - I feel them. It does have a lingerie, cozy feel. Sheer delight. It does resemble the classic which feels wilder. The classic lingers till morning next day, making L'Eau Privee a bit redundant at bedtime function. I always loved the classic's soft dry-down after waking up. L'Eau Privee has quite a presence, I even feel it at the back of my tongue. It is very clean and innocent, I am giving it my private evening and night to charm me, though in my mind it would be just as good companion for a misty morning. 4 hours of wear and to feel it I must sniff my wrist. I applied it 6pm for a private evening, by the time I was going to bed at 11pm the fragrance was pretty much gone. It was not easing me into sleep. Too strong to apply it on my neck before hopping into bed, no persistence that would make me feel it around me. I still want this frosted glass bottle. But I'd rather buy the eau de toilette that I let go of since my eau de parfum fully satisfies me.

I tested this at Macy's and fell in love with it. It's basically Coco Mademoiselle without the Patchouli. I love both Coco Mademoiselle EDP and EDT. I went home and looked it up on the Chanel website. It did not say what concentration this was. I was curious as to whether it was EDP or EDT.***I called Chanel customer service and the woman was very emphatic that this was in fact the lightest concentration EDC version, closest to an EDT.*** *This is not an "EDP",as it's listed here. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful fragrance. However, it does not last as long as EDT or EDP, of course. This is definitely on my want list now, as it smells that good. I may even like it slightly more than the original, and that's saying a lot as I absolutely love the original. However I wish the price was less, considering it's not an EDP or EDT. ***Update-Edit: purchased. Its lovely, but very, very light. Body mist light. Actually, some of my body mists are stronger than this. I wish they would make this version in and edp or edt. This is a bit different than Coco Mademoiselle edt and edp, and Intense, as it doesn't have vanilla at all.

Love love love this! I'm not a huge fan of the original CM. It's not bad, but I've had my bottle for a while and have only wore it once. It's a little too "mature business woman" for me. (not old, just grown up) I got this because it's supposedly a lighter version of OG without the patchouli. That it is! It's lighter, sweeter, friendlier. Beautiful! I could wear this anywhere, it doesn't strike me as strictly office woman like the OG. As a side note, this is one of the most beautiful bottles in my collection, and I just love to look at it 😍 Haven't had it long, so I can't comment on sillage or longevity, but if I notice a problem I'll come back and update on that. Edit: okay longevity is not the worst, but it becomes a skin scent almost immediately. Stays close to skin for hours after. It doesn't project, so it gives off a vibe of "thats just how she smells". Like, your skin but WAY better. Ultimate up close fragrance. And omg... This is dreamy. I've had it for all of three days and can't imagine ever living without it. Have never fallen so hard for a fragrance so quickly in my life.

This is such a soothing scent for me. It's a sweet, soft embrace that comforts me for hours. I didn't expect it to last this long on my skin (about 6 hours, though it is faint by then). I even sprayed some on my arms before bedtime and smelled it faintly in the morning. Oddly, I notice it more on my skin and less on my clothes. There is no sharpness, no patchouli, just the soft and sweet notes from Coco Mademoiselle, with something deeper and even better added. I prefer Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau Privée EDP over the Coco Mademoiselle Intense EDP, which has too much Patchouli and vanilla for me. Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau Privée is my favorite of the line. The smell itself is very consistent after the first 10 minutes or so. It's complex and engaging to the senses. And it keeps me entertained to smell it. (I'm mostly bed-bound due to long-term illness, and sniffing perfumes is one of the few things I can do).

Softer, sexier, more intimate than the original Coco. I think they’ve chosen the perfect name to perfectly describe it. It’s sexy as hell but in a private, delicate and intimate way. Having said all that, I think it’s still a perfect daytime scent as well. It’s very feminine, classy and sexy but not in the in-ur-face, loud, arrogant way as its big sister. This one is more the silent observer, the one you think is too timid and reserved, only to discover she’s not 😉 and once you do, you’re in for a very sensual experience 😍 Update: It’s really irritating that it has such weak silage and longevity! I know it’s supposed to be an intimate scent but it’s price is completely unjustifiable given it’s abysmal performance. It’s a shame that it’s the best version in the entire line, yet it’s performance makes it less enjoyable and not worth purchasing.

It disappears quickly, but it is oh so good! patchouli tends to smell really heavy to me and can be a bit overwhelming. Due to the patchouli being almost non existent, I can really enjoy this citrusy scent and I LOVE IT! I have both the Coco Mademoiselle EDP and the Intense. They're both beautiful, but I essentially have to walk into the spray because they both can be a much for me. This scent is one that I'd bathe in if I could! The mist is wonderful, and it's very light (even weaker than an EDT). It's a bedtime scent, but I enjoy wearing it on casual days as well. If you're someone that doesn't get along with patchouli, loves Coco Mademoiselle's DNA, prefers fragrances with more intimate spillage, *and* don't mind the cost, I encourage you to try it. If any of these don't apply to you then it may be a skip.

to me this smells so much better than the original coco mademoiselle. the og smells more mature, like an old lady and I hate the patchouli in it. i don't like the og, too strong for me and not even my grandma likes it bcs to her it smells quite dated, boring, sickening. so you can imagine: not a fave in my family ahah. however, the leau privee is AMAZING. like, AMAZING. my favorite scent, smells so so good and addictive. sometimes I go and smell the bottle just because I crave the scent. perfect balance of fruity and floral without making it too juvenile, it's a very elegant perfume. i admit, lasting power could be better BUT it is a leau privee, not an edp. suitable for any age range tbh, from young to older and smells so so classy without smelling like an old lady. love it

Last year when this came out, I bought a sample online from Merceri and it was for sure fake. I just bought this at Macy's and WOW! First spray and first 10 minutes it's beautiful. It's Mademoiselle minus the patchouli and sharp screetchiness. So a soft powdery ambery floral and gorgeous. After an hour it's 100% like a skin scent of the matching men's cologne, if there was one. It's like you slept with your amazing smelling man, then after you got home you could still faintly smell *just* him on you. I LOVE it! And I'm not one for unisex scents. I like to be all traditionally girly, but this is just addictive! Try it at a legit place, if you hate it, it'll be a skin scent in an hour anyway. This brings my layering game to a whole new level.

For someone like me, who typically spritzes herself with Coco Mademoiselle morning, noon, and night, L’Eau Privée is like a bedtime gift direct from the Chanel Gods. When it’s time to cozy up with my partner, I now put down the precious EDP and douse myself (as directed!) in this far more intimate version of that holy grail original. It’s perfection: a delicate whisper of the EDP’s citrus-floral DNA. My wallet definitely wishes it were cheaper, but it’s become a staple in my routine I’ll never give up. UPDATE: It's worth noting that *every* single time I wear this one in particular, my boyfriend comments on how good I smell—and he, like most men, isn't always the most outwardly complimentary when it comes to fragrances.

I have *such* bad luck with Chanel scents... their signature musk/patchouli combo comes across as truly *grating*, almost like sandpaper at the back of my throat. But! I tried this on a whim, assuming it would be too harsh (like the OG CM) and wow - this is softer, prettier, and more wearable for me. By taking out the majority of the patchouli and focusing on the soft florals, while keeping the citrusy opening, this truly smells like a dreamy interpretation on the modern classic. I'm excited to get a bottle of this one soon - because it's so light, it'll be perfect for cozy intimate events where people are close enough to smell me and say "mmm you smell nice."

I adore this fragrance, it leaves me wishing it had endless sillage. It is easily the best out of all the coco madamoiselle fragrances, it is very lightly sweet & warm without being tired. I will be wearing this all year round. It's intimate & addictive & the jasmine really shines without being too floral. I think its termed an "evening" scent just because of the sillage, so no one expects to be wearing it out all day w powerful effect, but its not sleepy or overtly sexual & the mandarin introduces that citrusy sunburst that reflects more of a morning/daytime fragrance. I wish I could shut myself in a room w this fragrance for 24 hours & simply bask in it!

I feel like a lot of people are using this scent wrong. I have the standard Coco Mademoiselle EDP for daytime use, but this one is my special one... I wear it late in the evening after my shower, and breathe in the sweet oranges. I spray it in my sheets, in my hair, or on myself coating my bedroom in soft, pretty flowers before snuggling in bed with my husband to let it die down to a warm, comfortable musk as I fall asleep. It's an intimate, soft, sexy scent that isn't meant to be worn about all day thinking it will last you. It's something private, just for me.

I bought this accidentally, because I didn't know what Eau Privee actually meant. In translation, it's a private version of the original scent, the one you wear in your house, when you go to bed, like you wear it for yourself or for your partner. It is beautiful and sexy, and you feel like a million dollars wearing it because it reminisces silk nightgowns and expensive bed sheets. But you can't really smell it, it lasts like 15 minutes on your skin. I don't get the point, especially considering its price.

Je vois la vie en rose Retro vibes & a classy feeling. It can transport you to an era of elegance, while remaining modern and fresh. Suitable for any occasion and all ages, do not be afraid that it will be outdated or “grandmotherly”. This is perfect for a romantic girl, who reads old books in the candlelight before bed. At the same time she knows what she wants, she’s dedicated, but during the day she wants to be inoffensive. This one smells like the original, minus the patchouli. So it’s more subtle.

I tested it at a Chanel counter and fell in love at first whiff. I "suggested" it to my husband as my xmas gift (wink wink). The bottle captures the scent perfectly. It's feminine and sexy but in a subtle way. It's fresh yet comforting, like the first cool breeze of autumn. I'd love it as my signature perfume...BUT the lasting power is extremely weak, even when sprayed on clothes. Considering the price, it is way too much for a body mist that goes away in 30mins. My search continues....

This is so so good. Everything I wanted the Coco Mademoiselles to be - the fuityness and this wonderful DNA of the original but no vanilla and no loud patchouli. Just gorgeous! But: very very light....Please some decisionmakers from Chanel read this and make exactly this scent in a stronger version! I have always been wondering who needs a scent marketed for bed time? Just make a great fragrance and I will wear it day round (including for going to bed ;-) just applied lightly)

Blind bought this out of curiosity because I've always liked CM on others, specially when applied lightly, but not on myself (way too "I'M WEARING PERFUME!" and screechy). Happy to say I will be keeping this because it's the perfect CM for me. It still has the sparkle of CM with a hint of patchouli. This is a skin scent that lasts 8+ hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. Olivier Polge described it perfectly as a watercolor version of Coco Mademoiselle.

Not a fan of coco, or chanel fragrances tbh, but this one instantly grew on me. So soft and delicate while still slightly getting the "coco dna". Although not overpowering scent wise which is a plus point- the longevity sucks, Yes! I knoww its meant to be a bed time fragrance but I see it as an all day scent. Other than that this is a great scent for the office or maybe nurses as I've heard who can't wear heavy perfumes. Might be good in the heat

i stole the sample of this from an airbnb we were staying at and i couldnt have been more surprised at how good this scent was. it does feel mature but still very refreshing. it smells expensive (and it is..). the white musk is quite prominent here, but it is beautifully supported by the orange note. i barely get any rose, but im sure its there somewhere. anyway, gorgeous fragrance but its a shame for so little sillage u pay so much

This is really pleasant. I'm in love with it. It smells soft and comforting, almost subtle. It's like, I can smell it all the time like it's a wispy little cloud of fragrance whooshing around me all the time. But it is not at all overpowering, or offensive, or too much. It doesn't give me a headache at all. The orange and the rose are definitely there. You smell the orange first, and the rose follows softly like a lover. It's great.

@Lalunalynn you definitely need to try the EDT version of Coco Mademoiselle if you are looking for more citrisuy notes and less patchouli. That's the one I kept after having the Original, the Intense and the L'eau Privee. I got rid of all of them and just kept the EDT because I was so overwhelmed with the dirty, dusty Patchouli in them. I think the EDT still has patchouli but is very toned down and I love that!

This might just be the Coco Mademoiselle for me. I found the original too much for my nose, and it made too much of a statement. I love how delicate this is, it sits close to my skin and feels fresher than the original. I am so happy I found one that I like. I wouldn't reserve this just for a night time scent for myself, in fact, I see myself wearing this really anytime.

I wore this one to work today, I didn't know what to wear so I choose it. It start off very strong and the citrus note holds on for a while then the rise of musk. After four hours it is a skin scent, it will work for those who don't want over powering scent or days you want go minimal on perfumes.

I bought this on impulse as my 10 year old EDP was aging poorly. This seemed like a good replacement, a bit different. It does smell lovely but after an hour I was left wondering where it had gone. Luckily I was able to exchange it for the intense version the next day. So far this one is better!

I sprayed this on paper, and it's so similar to oriflame spring tenderness. Less sour, very clean, calming. Inoffensive, every day's fragrance, more suitable in cooler temperatures in my opinion. Rose is prominent, no jasmine, at least not a natural smelling one.

This is what I wish the original coco mademoiselle smelled like! I don’t agree on the price for this being a bedtime only scent either. If this had greater sillage and longevity this would be the perfect spring daytime scent

Soooo lovely, chic, ethereal, feminine, etc. etc. The Coco Mademoiselle DNA is an extremely beautiful one that I believe will remain immemorially iconic.The rose within this smells so nostalgically divine and feminine.

This is just a bright citrusy scent! This is perfect just to freshen up or as a hair mist. I even wear this to bed. It's really smooth, there is no harshness from the patchouli. Very intimate scent, love it.

Please chanel hear me out and make this same scent with better intensity and longevity! Please please I need this and I also need people to be able to smell it the whole day because it’s beautiful!

Beautiful and charming fragrance, opening with sour orange, after that flowers are coming. But longevity is very poor, I sprayed 5-6 times, it stand on my skin only 1-2 hours.

my favorite iteration of the Coco Mademoiselle line. It's soft, rosy, musky, with a little patchouli. I find the OG and the intense to be cloying but this is just perfect.

So light and beautiful! The first Chanel perfume I absolutely love! Doesn't have the patchouli earthy-ness that is felt in the Coco Mademoiselle and the Intense version.

Received my bottle just today and wanted to provide a few initial thoughts, though I plan to update this review after wearing it for a few days. Upon initial spray, I noticed the nozzle and spray come out similarly to the No. 5 L'Eau bottle or the No. 5 hair mist (all both loves of mine) – it's such a fine mist that is perfect for spraying on more delicate fabrics like lace or silk. I don't anticipate you'd ever have any staining – the mist is seriously that fine. What's fun about this feature is I can spray a halo of the scent around my entire body instead of reserving the super-strong juice of the original or the Intense version for my pulse points, which has worked for me in the past but I find it's underwhelming as I am someone who pulls the covers up around my face, blocking any scent I may be wearing. In terms of smell, the initial 10 minutes is *very* similar to the original. I can smell the citrus, but it's not bright and juicy as you'd normally expect (and what I was worried about for a "bedtime" scent). I find a lot of the sharpness from the original has been removed, which is great for me as that's really the only dislike I have about this perfume that I've otherwise loved and worn for years and years. After 10-15 minutes, it's already settled in. It smells similar to the dry down of the original (which has always been what I love the most) with *maybe* an extra dose of white musk. I can understand how this would potentially be a "cleaner" version of the original, which can take on a tobacco-y vibe on some individuals. That said, it's still (in my opinion) really sensual. I'd be OK getting laid wearing this. HA! I understand what they were going for when they decided to describe this as a "watercolor" version of the original – it's hazy but still present, it's deep without rigid edges, and, most importantly, a generous application of it all over the body is not going to assault your nose for hours. As a "MORE IS MORE" person when it comes to my fragrances, I never thought I'd purchase a "lighter" version of one of my most nostalgic perfumes, but I completely understand what they were going for here and think they nailed it. That said, if a soft, enveloping, light scent is not what you want to spend your money on, I suggest getting either the original Coco Mad or the Intense version. They’re all relatively the same price at any size. Finally, a Coco Mad I don't have to make a plan to wear. No more strategically outlining where and when I can apply it. This is perfect for close-quarters interaction with children, doggos, or a partner.

Privée, like secrets whispered at twilight, like silk slip dresses and pillow talk and not meant for the world to hear. This flanker doesn’t shout but sighs, softly, close to skin. So fun fact! Alike many below myself, I never quite got on with the original Coco Mademoiselle. Too poised. Too impeccable. The patchouli dressed too formally, the citrus too lacquered. She walked into the room before I did, and stayed long after. But this—this is amazing. Morning light through sheer curtains over candlelit drama, gone is the patchouli’s deep-throated growl, and in its place lies airy woods and white musks, freshly laundered and sun-kissed. Yum. A whisper of jasmine, more petal than indole, floats through, a sparkly mandarin, a brush of bergamot, glistening not with tartness but with a kind of softened glee. There’s a rose in here, of course, or it wouldn’t be Coco Mademoiselle. But this time! She's had her thorns snipped, and that has gone flawlessly. Glowy, not sharp. More youthful than womanly, more shine than rouge. Like laughter behind a hand, this time not gloved in velvet but silk. It’s dewy. Tender. Young, yes, but not in a naive way. It just hasn’t had to fight yet. There’s something so perfectly liminal about it, oh. No party scent, L'Eau Privée is your post-shower, post-long-day, post-overthinking skin scent. The exact kind of thing you’d wear to bed if you’re the type to perfume your dreams, she's perfect. No sweat, no dirt, no edge. Just warmth. Soft heat. Honestly, I think I’ve started to understand the Chanel appeal now. When they soften, they sing. And boy are those tunes impeccable. Brushing your teeth with rosewater, falling asleep next to someone you trust, clean sheets scented with lotion, a memory that makes your heart sigh a little—Coco, in private.

I find the omnipresent Chanel citrus-patchouli combination to be scratchy and headache-inducing, and that was precisely the effect Coco Mademoiselle produced for me in an EDT format, so when I saw this, I was interested. Maybe I can't distinguish notes, but to me, this really just feels like a watered-down version of the original - in a good way. No distinguishable rose, musk, etc. The patchouli is still there, and so is the citrus, but they are tamed and pleasant. This is absolutely perfect for someone like me who wants the original's classiness (sorry, overused word for Chanel, but it's true) and refined presence without being knocked out by it. However, unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous reviewers: this is just too weak. It's ridiculous. Most body mists have more potency than this. And it's really too bad because a concentration that would meet halfway between the EDP and this would be perfect: not too much, but not gone an hour later. I gave this a chance, and I will enjoy it while I own it, but I will not repurchase in the future. Considering the EDP and EDT bother me, I guess I'll just have to avoid Coco Mademoiselle - at least until they make a softer version that actually lasts. P.S. I do understand that the initial idea was to create a fragrance that would not bother the wearer at night. But like... Why?.. Do you have nothing better to offer your customers?

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau Privée is the version that maintains the freshness and citrus in the dna the most, because there's no overwhelming patchouli to overtake like it does in the intense quickly and the original edp eventually. The edt is light but too light where the scent disappears immediately, meanwhile it's 50 mL and 100 mL options are just as expensive as the edp and intense. The L'Eau Privée still is a classic perfume smell, not really too powdery, that is bright and floral. It gives me a lighter consistency of the dna and projects for about an hour, then lasts moderately with an intimate projection. It was nice seeing that the fragrance was made to be worn in private, ergo the name, because inside is how I preferred to wear it anyways. The citrus and perfumery scent becomes too sharp any time I wear outside. Indoors, especially in the morning is perfect. I also like that the bottle of the Privée has a clear glass cap but the bottle is frosted matte. The edp and intense are reverse where the bottle is clear glass and the cap is frosted matte.

This is a very pretty and toned-down version of the original Coco M. The funny thing is I find this to stimulating for bedtime which is what this version is marketed for. The citrus here is a very energizing mandarin orange, not an overly sweet one. The rose is very fresh and newly bloomed not sweet and jammy nor thorny either, just very, very fresh and new. The musk here is the classic Chanel musk that is clean and nice. Almost hits laundry territory but pulls back just enough for me to enjoy it. The patchouli here is noticeable and if you dislike patchouli don't think this the Coco Mad for you. Patchouli here is medium strength to my nose. All and all I don't find longevity problematic, at least for me. But I hate the original and think it is wayyyy to strong. For anyone who wants a toned-down version of the original this is a good bet, but I would wear this during the daytime. It smells more office, business casual to me, not seductive or something that would promote sleep, it is far to energizing and brisk.

This is thinner and more uplifting than the original CM, it's really not at all a poor spin on a fresh version, in fact, I think it's well l constructed, but I do absolutely think it's overpriced because it is lacking in basenotes...the performance isn't as good. What I actually smelled in the opening spray, was a fresh blast of pink grapefruit! I wish it had lasted longer, it was super brisk and energizing, but still quite pretty and upscale. Chanel does indeed have a certain signature tone. The rose and jasmine play well together, even if they skew slightly toward the drier side...I actually sort of enjoy that quality in a fragrance sometimes. Ultimately I do prefer the original to this, because I'm a patchouli person, but I figured that it would be so. This winds up becoming a vague white musk toward the final stretch of it's life on the skin, flattering, yet unremarkable and over too quickly. Nothing beside that is here to *glue* it onto you for the long haul. Still, it's nice while it lasts.

I got gifted this! What a cool gift. I like the original Coco Mademoiselle, but like some others I too find it a little too strong and sharp. This one is more toned down and sits close to the skin. I smell all the notes listed plus patchouli and ylang-ylang? Or maybe it is the jasmin that tricks me. Pretty linear. The musk develops after a while. I find this fragrance pretty sexy, which is not something I say about many perfumes actually. It is supposed to smell light in order to be worn at night. To me, this can totally be a day-time perfume, and a night-out perfume as well! I like light perfumes, I am not a fan of having big sillage or strong perfumes, because they overwhelm me a little (looking at you, Black Afgano!). If you want it to be stronger, just wear more of it and maybe spray on clothes. Think of it this way, in the summer you can spray liberally without being afraid of choking anyone lol!
