Coco Parfum

My amazing perfume pal Sarah, the most generous person in the state of Ohio, possibly the entire region, sent me a vial of '80s Coco pure parfum. This is so insanely glorious that I feel like weeping: I can't believe it exists. The way it develops on the skin reminds me of the way a Bach fugue develops, turning the motto around and backward, strangifying it, sublimating it, making it alive and magical. I wore Coco EDP in the 80s, and I'm happy with the current formulation of the EDP--I have a newish bottle and treasure it--but this vintage parfum is an entirely different beast. And I don't mean beast as in beast-mode performance, because I just put it on; I mean beast more in the animalic sense. This reminds me much, much more of my '80s version of the EDP, which is a polite way of saying "I smell that civet all right!" but trust me, there is nothing skanky about this sexy lady of a certain age. All I know is she's clean as a whistle, baby. Now excuse me while I hyperventilate on this juice I do not deserve but absolutely delight in. Update: I wore Coco EDT all day--the most amazing throw and longevity on the current formulation, what a performer!--and now that it has worn down to a faint glow, some nine hours after a few squirts total (both inner arms, half-spray on chest), I felt the need to re-up, and I thought, "why not pretend like this is the last night of my life, my last meal, as it were, and why not put on a few drops of the vintage pure parfum from Sarah." So I did. And dear lord is it ever beautiful. If I had the slightest hope that the current formulation would smell this good, I would beg, borrow, and steal the funds to buy it, but part of the beauty of this is the formulation, which simply isn't legal under current IFRA laws. The eugenol alone would probably smash right through all their ration-card quotas (I obviously have no idea how this works in real life--I'm just pulling an Abe Simpson and wailing to the clouds how aggrieved I am that I can't just smell like this forever, and isn't it tragic that sandalwood is nowhere near as good now as it used to be, etc.) I wore the EDP version of Coco in the late 80s, but I was young and poor and had no idea that the parfum version even existed. And when my one bottle of the EDP ran out, I never bought another and satisfied myself with perfumes I loved much less. So now I feel irrationally entitled to smell like the baddest bossest bitch who ever was. When I deplete this vial of the vintage stuff, I will try my best to forget how superior it is to my current formulations of the EDP and EDT. I would never have known how great this was if not for Sarah's generosity, because it's not like you can just waltz up to a sales counter and say, "Yeah, yeah, Coco Mademoiselle whatever, but I want to smell Coco extrait, early 90s edition, please." And more's the pity! I will say that as sublime as the pure parfum is, I think the other formulations might last a bit longer. Then again, I never apply more than a few drops at a time. It's pretty potent. Oh, god, if only they could bring it back in this form somehow! What is technology even good for otherwise?

Dear reader's♥ This classic and beautiful perfume was introduced to me in my childhood by the one special lady who raised me , influenced my taste for perfumes and other finer things of life. And every holiday and birthday I buy this gorgeous perfume to my special lady, my mother.♥ This perfume is my mothers signature perfume, from my first memories of childhood before I ever knew my mother's real name, I could recognize this scent of Coco Chanel whenever I got lost in the department stores by wandering off. The scent of my mother's chemistry with Coco Chanel was a rich fragrant light house to my senses and I always found her by following the invisible trail. I will always have many found and comfortable memories with this perfume relating to my mother, when she picked me up from school or when were going out to town in her BMW , listening to new wave and rock music and my mother's Coco Chanel dancing in the air together with the leather interior of her BMW as my mother cracking jokes with her red Dior smile as we drove on the coast's of California in all 1980's style and glory.♥ Now the perfume : Both vintage and reformulated version are still a well orchestrated symphony of oriental flowers and spices , with a light touch of musk to create an very irresistible body in this fragrance . Its a true Lioness in a bottle with its bold and beautiful personality, that will definitely get you noticed and become memorable in everyone's book of life. This powerhouse perfume is definitely not for the shy "barely there flower scent lovers" nor for the "forever girly cookie and cream girl", Coco Chanel perfume belongs for females who are proud being an adult woman with lioness strength , a queens assurance and dignity that make her a dazzling jewel that enchants other's to stop to marvel her. The perfume on my chemistry whenever I took a spritz from my mother's collection. My chemistry brings colder but rich flowers at first and than it drydown becomes a soft but spiced refine musk that creates a sensual creature of fine linages. The silage is bold and longevity last for many hours. Its very beautiful scent of me but I have way to much respect and I cant make this my signature perfume since it totally my mothers signature perfume. Although the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, I have Anteaus and Chanel No5 that are fabulous companions with my chemistry , lol. Many praises to chief of the house of Chanel Karl Lagerfeld and his crew for creating an exquisite modern classic perfume for strong and beautiful ladies of the world. It makes a sublime signature perfume and gift, for its sheer class !.♥

This is the only version I have or have tried, so I can't compare them, but I adore my Coco parfum. Not sure the date of mine. "Checkcosmetics" website shows my code (4608) as Oct 2011 but I think it is older than that. What Checkcosmetics posts is that Chanel started putting bar codes on in 1990 and that between 1998 and 2004, the box should have short list of ingredients. Starting from 2005, the box should have long list of ingredients. "Checkfresh" website says Chanel repeats codes every 8 years. Mine has a bar code and a short list of ingredients, so I'd say it's from 2003 or 1995. Tonight, as I dabbed this on, for an instant, I smelled Arso by Profumum Roma. That's the first time that has happened to me. Tonight, what I detected, was smoke. Crazy! But almost as soon as I smelled it, it was gone. A fluke? Maybe, but it was enough to prod me to do this review. Nicole mentioned that there's no spice and I would agree. Coco parfum is very rich and deep. I get lots of fat wet roses over syrupy sweet peach. Peach is a note that scares me, in the sense that it's often too much and overwhelming on my skin. It can easily turn suffocating, to me. But here, it is blended so well and so smoothly. I find this fragrance absolutely dreamy. For me, it's difficult to pick out specific notes other than the rose and peach, and I think it is due to the incredible recipe. It all works together like magic. The longer I sit with it and work to find specific notes, I get jasmine. I think it is she, who is able to keep the peach from becoming overbearing. I like it. But this is not a jasmine scent in any sense. Coco is sweet but in an elegant way. I almost find her more plum-like than peachy, in the way that Coco seems more purple than golden, if that makes sense to you. But now that I am thinking more on color lines, Coco is royal purple with golden trim. She is very regal, indeed. Because she is so regal, I'm not sure I would wear Coco out to dinner but wow, she would be dynamite for late night drinks or an art gallery opening. She really is sophisticated and most of the time I wear Coco is in the evening, before bed, as my life is not filled with late night cocktails on the town or countless gallery openings...lol! I'm no Carrie Bradshaw. But every once in awhile, I do wear Coco out in the real world, MY real world, which includes denim and trips to Home Depot. I love those Coco days! One more thing, Coco parfum lasts and lasts and lasts.

This was my first Chanel parfum. My first Chanel purchase! After years of smelling No. 5 on a coworker and being mesmerized by her Russian outlook on life, I will forever be reminded of her when someone says the word CHANEL. She escaped Russia after the Cold War and the Iron Curtain was getting ready to lift. Her signature was No. 5 and she wore it well. She worked as a med aide in the little rehab unit in Kansas that I myself found my way to. She was the first person that greeted me there and in her thick Russian accent she said to me 'Welcome! We will be friends now.' She was perhaps 20 years older than I and a woman. I was just a little gay boy with bleached blonde hair and a meager outlook on life. She would wear her fur coat to work in the winter and did not drive (she never learned how to!) I remember her calling her husband on the black phone in the office after work to come get her and her Russian sounded like music from a grand piano. She commanded the room and did not care about the opinions of others. She would spray her Chanel on my wrist and give me little sample vials. I would use the vials sparingly and one day she taught me a lesson. She said, "Wear the Chanel. You never know when your time is gone so wear the Chanel. Don't waste your moments and don't waste Chanel." Years later after moving home I decided to buy my own Chanel. I went for the parfum. It reminded me of her. I put No. 5 back and bought Coco parfum without even smelling it. When I got home and dabbed it on my wrists I was transported back to the first day I met her. I was scared and in a place far from home and I can remember her grabbing my hands and saying "We are friends now!" Coco is spicy, rosy peaches, warm hugs, Russian fur coats, wafts of confidence down a hallway, and the dear words of a friend. Спасибо тебе, дорогой друг! Coco will always be my first Chanel. And in a world where things are ever so uncertain: wear the Chanel.

I've been pretty confused by the reported notes of the three current formulations of Coco - the EDT, EDP and this, the Parfum. Fragrantica says the notes of all three are identical, however the official Chanel website says that the Parfum (which only comes in two sizes - 7.5 and 15ml) has the following notes only:- Sicilian Mandarin, Jasmine and May Rose Absolutes, Indonesian Patchouli, Tonka Bean and Benzoin. Of course it's possible that their copy writers left out notes, but to leave out ten??? Chanel also advises that the EDT and EDP have ylang-ylang, but it's not in Fragrantica. Oh, what a Dalai Lama. So I hope what my sniffer has detected helps you if you are in the market for a Coco, any Coco. I own the EDT - love love love - and am familiar with the EDP. I finally tested the Parfum a few days ago. Yes, it's quality stuff, but I honestly can't smell any difference between it and my EDT, which I was not wearing at the time, because I wanted a true test of the Parfum. The EDT provides me with over twelve hours of wear, and while long lived, the Parfum faded after about six. Not bad, but not good, given the price difference between the two. The Eau de Parfum is long lived too, and gorgeous. I smell the rose more in it. The Parfum and EDT seem spicier. Overall, if this helps anyone at all, while the Parfum is beautiful, I can't honestly say that it smells significantly different to the EDT, but IS significantly pricier. Please trial the three yourself if you really do want Coco. You may have a more sophisticated sniffer than mine.

A beautiful winter fragrance. Starts off with a bright and soft peach and orange blossom. A light yellow floral scent which doesn't get too green or herbal. It has roses and clover, jasmine, and cloves. Soft and spicy. Powdery. Seems to have a golden yellow color. A little white floral thing going on but not a bold or heavy white floral. Mostly a soft yellow mimosa which then gets into a vanilla and amber by the time of the dry down. It can be bought at any Macy's that sells Chanel fragrances. If you like powdery florals this one is a masterpiece. Smells rich, exotic, sweet and envelops you like a dream. What I love best about this scent is that it doesn't remind me of any other Chanel past or present. It is it's own perfume. Soothing and warm, sophisticated. I love to scent my bath water with it. I love to spray my clothes and neck with it. There is a very cozy feeling to it like a hug from Coco Chanel herself. The Eau de Parfum at Macy's is the reformulation which is very nice. The closest thing to the vintage is the pure parfum which is hard to find but can be found by authentic sellers on ebay. The scent is sweet and really fills your head! This is tender and romantic. I feel like it's perfect for this time of year to wear with a nice scarf and coat when you go out. Formal and great for dinner and fancy dress up events.

This is absolutely gorgeous, especially in parfum concentration owning several spray bottles of the extrait and a couple of the edp also in vapo-sprayers. Over the last 20+ odd years I have detected slight differences in formula and longevity of these two concentrations, sadly becoming thinner requiring regular top up applications, I do prefer vintage bottles with the extrait juice the color of deep golden canary yellow bordering on a feint tinge of orange a sign of the many white florals used in it's construct, everything about this parfum is so perfectly balanced, what's not to like with the combination of mandarin orange, frangipani, rose & jasmine all emboldened with the most exquisite blend of spices, the older formula contains the creamiest & gorgeous duo of patchouli/ sandalwood including vetyver of superb quality available back then, my second best vintage from Chanel would have to be Bois des Iles followed by the extraordinary No's.5 & 19, but that's another story :) In my opinion one of the greatest civet based, spicy honeyed oriental perfumes of the twentieth century... A true MASTERPIECE!!!

(1990 version) A marvel, it dresses you with class and tenderness, in a bubble that completely envelops you ... A dream bubble, without vulgarity, without compromise, with continuous pleasure A class so high that it exceeds men and their sexes. It is indeed the angels that you are, and as long as you can breathe it you will stay there! But be careful to keep a few feet of measure to keep the subtlety and appreciation, a few drops are enough to go up straight A masterpiece to apply whatever its genre! An alcoholic side, a fruity and flowery side, a woody / spicy side ... it is simply and hardly Sublime !!! A fragrance that has a durability of more than 12h widely and what is wonderful, it pulls to the slightly spicy creamy rose, sandalwood and tonka, a hint of amber..magnifique !! The amber and vanilla background, a deep and creamy strand! I have rarely felt a perfume so beautiful, maybe never, I'm in love it's such a class and beauty! If you want to feel surrounded by Love...It is in any case the only perfume that makes me feel that !! (Sorry for the language !! it's not mine )

Japan's climate in September is still hot and humid, so it's not suitable here, but I gave it a try. And oh, my goodness! The usually modest peach juice overflowed. Smooth peach glides through golden civet, precious spices and resins, and noble sandalwood. Just like Chanel's famous gold chain interlaced with leather. A long time ago, the sailing ships that carried precious cargo from India were no doubt filled with such a scent. At the port of Venice, a woman waited for her husband to return. As she saw him, she dropped her basket full of peaches and roses. (No fish!) Every time I smell Coco, I think of my beautiful and mysterious friend from graduate school. She was studying on the history of witchcraft in the 16-17th century Europe, about Pico della Mirandola and Marsilio Ficino. She was dating an ambassador of a European country, and he hosted a graduation party for us at his residence. I didn't miss that she had a small Coco perfume bottle displayed in the bouquet. A little black magic.

I bought a tiny bottle of Coco Parfum (marked “2003”) second hand, and it is gorgeous. To my nose, the opening smells like opulent Coca Cola (true even more so in the edp, I find) and then narrowly avoids becoming a spicy, rose-forward scent for a while. The spicy cinnamon bolsters the clove-y facet of what feels like red roses, but the amber base-notes always slightly outshine the roses. Victoria of the delightful Bois de Jasmin blog has called this the perfume that smells the most red in color to her, and I wholeheartedly agree. I don’t think the parfum has massive sillage, but a single swipe lasts 24 hours, with the late, late dry-down, nose to skin, smelling of a lovely patchouli. I have read that this scent has a reputation for feeling dated, and I get that. However, I would argue that it might not be in fashion, but it is incredibly stylish— sophisticated and of a high-quality that just isn’t present in so many artificial-leaning more modern scents.

The smell of sophistication and flirting: silk, high heels, delicate powder and a languid wave of eyelashes. Expensive restaurant, theater premiere, opera hall. A man in a tuxedo leaning gently towards my wrist... This smell acts like wearing heels for me: you won’t wear it every day, it’s too obliging. But sometimes it’s nice to put on: posture immediately improves, the head rises, movements smoothes. A scent for a special occasion. It creates a mood, but also obliges a lot. I'm not a fan of rose at all, but here the Bulgarian Rose coming in the top notes is mixed with coriander and powder, amber and spicy, and it feels like pure erotica to me. It would be even indecent, but this fragrance stays so close to the skin! If you take a step back, you feel almost nothing. But if you lean a little closer to the skin ... ooh!

I have either a true vintage or a fake bottle of this. I don't know for sure, but it's divine. It's sweet like modern Coco EDT, but richer and with less of the strong spice. I never thought, with my hundreds of loves/likes/wants, I would ever come upon a fragrance that is the ONE I would take to that mythical desert island. This is it. But there's a problem. Having discovered this new pinnacle fragrance love and placed it on my 'special birthday list', I went to check out the new (2016) definitely authentic Coco Parfum in a department store... Nyeh. Does nothing for me. So now I have a real dilemma! The genuine current version is bleh. So what do I have? I don't know! I may buy another small cheap bottle from Asia, that might be fake, but might also be utterly fabulous...

This one smells like my 14ml can last decades, you’d only apply a little. Where 19 parfum teaches us that beauty is fleeting, Coco on the other hand is a no holds-barred perfume: a portable storm in slow-motion. Its resinous quality slightly taken aback by a pronounced bitterness I don’t find with the lesser concentrations. This might be the Angelica. Also, the pimiento’s dialed down and there feels like the perfect balance between the edt’s and the edp’s amber and clove ratio. All the good things with both lesser concentrations can be found here and of course, the drydown lasts and lasts. This is Jacques’ seminal work, Coromandel comes second.

Coco Parfum is a deeply beautiful oriental floral —it’s so warm, smooth, spicy, comforting, and utterly luxurious. It feels reassuring and protective. A total classic and easily in my top three for life. Nothing else hits quite like this.

Oh my, so gorgeous. I have a vintage 15ml bottle of parfum, original formula. No plastic even on the stopper. Warm, mezmerizingly spicy, deep. The peach notes are perfectly placed. Absolutely delicious. My favourite Chanel.

Helbo, yes! Patchouli is a very strong note in this perfume for me! I began to wonder if I was crazy or not smelling authentic Coco, you have reassured me. I can't believe the strength of patchouli in this perfume.

This is a luxurious youth perfume. I still layered it with oud & musk perfume oils, though, to mask the citrus notes. Performance and quality is excellent, of course

@Fumongous ... go to eBay and you'll have better luck. Go for vintage, it's absolutely divine. It might be pricey but it's well worth it. So gorgeous.

Soft rounded feminine, confident and centered. I think anyone could tell it is a Chanel scent.

On the plus side, Coco Parfum is very strong and long-lasting. I can imagine it would smell wonderful on the right man... However, it is far too unisex for me. There is a sharpness in the top notes that never fades and the fragrance stays very linear. It lacks the complexity, femininity, richness and softness of the Eau de Parfum, which I've loved and worn for about 25 years (including on my wedding day). I expected Coco Parfum to be a more concentrated version of the EDP, but was sadly disappointed. Perhpaps it's due to recent reformulations, but in my opinion the pure Parfum isn't nearly as beautiful or interesting as the vintage EDP. I only wish I'd have bought the pure Parfum years ago, as I'm sure it would have been quite different then.

Hello , last year I bought this , it's 15 ml , well vintage coco is not like current one , vintage one is based on one main note it is the maysore "Sandalwood" milky creamy buttery warm . now is restricted , coco after 2006 became a clove amber powdery carnation bomb . this new extrait de parfum is close to vintage buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut with only 5 notes ") yeahh vanilla jasmine musk and sweet notes . lasts 30 min not worth it and not spicy . if you love the spicy notes in edt and edp then stick with it . forget about the current pyramid notes there's no rose cloves or coriander in current extrait , no amber civet . just vanilla jasmine ,then the musk came in the dry down , you also get the sweet notes in the middle . good luck

This review is about the EdT, a comment about the pure parfum is at the bottom. It has taken me many years to have the courage to use this perfume. My mother had it in mid 80’s and a girlfriend in the 90’s. I have always loved the scent, it reminds me of good old safer times. It is pure nostalgia for me and I do not find this scent dated. Coco could have been released today as a unisex niche perfume. For example by Byredo. Finally now in my mid 40’s I decided to get myself a bottle. It is a very well blended and a trully complex scent. There is a lot going on here, it is pretty bold but also fresh and fizzy. To me it is all about orange, neroli, jasmine, sandalwood, amber and light cloves. Opening is sweet jasmine, neroli and warm orange, more on the feminine side but as the smooth amber and woody base notes take over it becomes more unisex imo. Longevity is great, all day projection. I wear this for me, also to the office and simply could not care what others might think of it. EdP is more heavy on rose and spices, for me the EdT version is the best one. Also tried pure parfum in a Chanel perfume store and to be honest, it is exactly the same as EdT, perhaps slightly smoother but you need to be an expert to notice the difference. Surprisingly the longevity of EdT is better than the one of pure parfum version. Bottle of pure parfum is for sure nice to have if this is your signature scent or If you are a true collector. For me, EdT is perfectly fine. As a male user, I would like to think Coco is for the bold individualist that does not mind to stand out. Reward is a warm and sensual scent aura. Wear this for you, not for others.

Underwhelmed Expected this to be a 50 or at least 30ml bottle. Nope its only 7.5mls or 15mls and at a ridiculous price for a fragrance that has zero sillage and weak longevity. The scent is lovely though, its a soapier coco with a bit of mademoiselles dna. But its a skin scent and after 2 hours barely noticeable. The woman at chanel told me that only 8 women in the world are allowed to do the threading for the top of the bottle... in my head i was like so what? Is that meant to impress me so much that i buy it lol I can see why people would feel the need to own this but to me its not worth it.

This was gifted to me years ago, and it was incredibly exciting to receive something Chanel. However, I don't like this perfume at all. It's not bad by any means! It's very sophisticated and classic, but it just veers way too mature for me. Again, very pleasant, just not my personal tastes. I tend to get headaches when I wear this one, too. I've had it for years and haven't even made a dent in it.

I had a new bottle of the extrait. I was surprised that I got a soapiness! I also got leather in the drydown along with the warmth of vanilla. It gets sweeter the further into the drydown you go but I couldn’t get past the soapiness and leather. I returned it.

During the last few years, I read a lot of stories, written by perfumistas, about finding a little gem by sheer luck. This year my time came too. I walked into a local perfume store I visit regularly and found the last bottle of the extrait without tester. I'm a huge fan of the EDT and with Chanel scents I found that if I love the EDT of a fume, I usually adore the extrait (like with no. 5, Allure). I already had my eye on this version and smelled it earlier in another shop, but somehow procrastinated to buy it. This time I did not hesitate. The price was really high but I was ready to pay it. I realized only when I arrived home that the box was from 2002, before the heavy reformulations (it did not have a long list of ingredients). I opened the box eagerly and sniffed the cap and that was the start of a passionate love affair that goes on for months now without loosing its initial momentum. I still love the EDT (I've worn the version before 2014 reformulation so that's pretty strong too) but I now realized what others meant by saying that a vintage version blows the current reformulation out of the water. It has a depth - I guess given by the stronger base - that the recent formulation does not possess. It's even more alluring, a scent fit for the wise and beautiful wife of a maharajah. It conveys seduction but in a less direct way than a lot of opulent fragrances. It allows men to approach you and try to seduce you, charmed by your mysterious, slightly restrained sensuality and does not attack like some loud and vulgar scents that scream "Take me, I'm yours!" It is rich and heady, only one spritz on my cleavage lasts me all day long. It is perfect accessory for a night at the opera but even on regular workdays I find it gives me a mood and confidence boost. As a singer I love to use it on stage, it grounds me and enchants me at the same time. In the hot weather it might be too much but on a rainy or snowy day, it is comforting and sensual like a hug from your valentine.

This is a like an EDT version of the parfum much sweeter more floral and very pretty. It's not the Coco I remember my mother wore in the 80's which was a hardcore Oriental. This is a pretty "pink" scented Coco. It opens with a sweet fruity accord: mandarin orange and peach. This is very peachy compared to the original Coco. I love peach. As a child I would put my nose to a peach before eating it because I loved how it smelled. The scent turns floral for a long time. It has mimosa petals, sweet yellow mimosa that smells similar to heliotrope, some clover jasmine and rose. The rest of the fragrance has an aromatic aspects: sandalwood, opoponax, and something like a touch of incense. But this is very watered down compared to the base notes of the vintage Coco. On me this is not a big showy Oriental with sandalwood. Also, it really doesn't have civet or musk. It's vanillic. The vanilla shows up in the dry down, very powdery and delicious. It's easier to wear than the first Coco but I do love the original Coco as well. I proudly wear both the old and new versions.

"Is Civet still used in perfumes? Animal notes of natural origin are today forbidden in the perfume industry. The main ones are civet, musk, castoreum, ambergris and hyraceum. Natural animal notes in perfume creation were used in very subtle fragrances to enhance smoothness in fragrances." Chanel stopped using civet in 1998 in No. 5 for animal rights reasons, replacing it with a synthetic version (though you can still buy vintage). . Source: Google search. If it synthetic vegan civet scent, I'll then continue to buy it, as i love the fragrance. Otherwise, if they should return to real civet scent, I'll find an alternative which is completely vegan and cruelty free. (Except for China for instance, where animal testing is mandatory for all cosmetic companies) "Chanel has always being refusing to publish it's testing policies." Source: PETA. I prefer Coco over Coco mademoiselle. I do not like Coco Noir at all

Ah.. I’ll weigh in on the great Coco.. I used to wear either this or #5 all through the 90’s and so this was my signature scent. I was curious if it’s still any good and I am pleased to report that yes- it is still sublimely spicy/warm/sweet! I can not pick out a single individual note but other people suggest rose, a touch of spice, some warm tonka and amber.. so I wouldn’t doubt. I am so thrilled to be wearing this again and am about to dive in on a bottle! I am just deciding.. should I get the new $130 bottle at the department store or the equally priced vintage ‘80’s sealed parfum that is available on Ebay? That is one aspect to perfume collecting I have not explored; the differences between EDP’s, EDT’s or pure parfum extraits.. But I really think I should score the vintage bottle. Perhaps I agree about the longevity with many reviewers btw, but I just want to say A I can still smell it on my clothes from yesterday and B I kept catching whiffs of that sublime scent all day a couple days ago at work when I hadn’t yet made my own sample bottle like I did yesterday (I work next to a mall lol). As an old school wearer of Coco I wish to report that it (EDP) is still the same scent and for me nevertheless the longevity is ok since my spirit kept getting lifted by it at work! I’ll report on my vintage bottle too as soon as I get it and unseal it mwa haha I am so excited! My vintage bottle of parfum arrived from its long trip and it smells divine with just a couple of swipes of the stopper. I just checked out the Chanel site and saw that a bottle of pure perfume costs 210, so I’m thrilled to have gotten a vintage one instead for only $80.

I inherited a bottle of vintage extrait from my grandmother. The colour of the juice is golden brown. The smell is heavenly. The depth and complexity is unlike anything I have smelled in modern perfumerie thus far. This is fur when other people are wearing cotton. There is a lot of rose in there, but I detect no smoke or incense. There are other things as well, such as spice, but I am at a loss for words. It just goes on and on. I bet this would do well in the Arab market if it could be sold again in its original formula.

I have a tiny bottle from around 2000’s. It smells very vintage but still potent and beautiful although it’s giving me a headache. It is mostly about rose and cloves. Really ‘oriental’ if we are still allowed to write that about perfumes. I was worried that there would be some animalic skank from the civet but I can’t detect any. This is definitely for winter nights- it is just too spicy for summer and I can see this as unisex. I have a few male friends who could rock this. Projection is pretty big so I use sparingly.

This has become a totally different perfume. It only lasts MINUTES , not hours. I believe some of the recent reviews are fakes . I find it sad that the perfume is watery , that it still co$T$ big buck$ , and that people are claiming it to be long lasting . I have friends who sell perfume for their profession and they state that Coco has no longevity ( same for Chanel #5 ). If this site does not speak truth , then it will serve no purpose of any good for buyers or creators of perfume.

I feel that it is literally the powerhouse of spicy amber. From the very first moments after spraying, you immediately noticeintense opening combination of coriander and rose note that resembles dark and spicy Coca-Cola. After it drydowns, it becomes an exceptionally deep, warm composition of clove, sandalwood, and resins. It is sweet, still rich and thick rather than gourmand

I bought 30ml of parfum that the box has the letters "flacon de crystal" and "crystal flacon" together. is this the 80's vintage one? (at least hope 90's, which contains real Civet's secretion) The batch code said it was made in 2019... really? haha... anyway, the smell is Coco which I love, but I'm not sure this is better than the current version.

I adore Coco EDT, so I was excited to give this a try. I was disappointed, though. None of the glorious spice here. Instead, it's replaced with a bitter woodsy note that doesn't fade from top to bottom. It's a shame since this is longer lasting on my skin, but I think I'll stick with my lovely EDT.

A very comforting perfume. Like the warmth from an fireplace in a cold winter night; or a generous hug from mum when you are feeling down. It is elegant and sophisticated; and yet sensual and sexy at the same time. A perfect perfume for a romantic night out. I think this is better than the No 5.

I sadly have to agree with the reviewer below. I tested both coco and n. 5 in multiple stores (Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales) and sadly they only lasted 20 min on me. Really disappointing considering the price and prestige this brand has. Pitiful longevity.

I am so in LOVE and obsessed with vintage Coco, to mee is the best perfume in the world, and I bought two bottles but these belong to the new one, if any one wants them, I opened one second NIB I'll give this for a good price.

I love the EDP both vintage and current (2014 bottle) I would love to get my nose on a decant or bottle of Coco Parfum -full or partial. Please message m if you’d like to trade or sell :)

The sweetest version. NOT MUCH SILLAGE!! But an aura develops around you and remains there until you wash it off. I recommend using this with the EDT to increase sillage.

The parfum is too leathery and masculine on me, and my skin just eats it up. However, I love Coco in the edp and edt. Very alluring and feminine!

Brought a 50ml pure parfum spray from the 80s. This is soooo strong. One spray and the windows in the car had to be rolled down........

Does anyone know if this parfum version comes out only around holiday time? Have been checking Chanel’s site and it’s always sold out.
