Comète

Today, tried it again in the boutique (for the second time), and I finally get why people love this. I collect the Les Exclusifs (like a madwoman) and this one is unique enough to own separately. Yes - it's not a Le Lion or a Coromandel - this is the typical Chanel classy-feminine-elegance without being polarising. To me, this actually smells more like almonds/marzipan (but not too sweet), more than cherry blossom. The iris is also very prominent here. To me, this smells like a mix of a few other Chanel scents: - The iris here smells like the iris in No. 19 Poudre, not the dry-rooty-iris that you get in La Pausa. - The violet here smells like Misia, but a bit more bitter (cool!!!) than the fleshy roundness of Misia. Imagine the bitterness of No. 18 (EDT) with the violet in Misia. Misia smells like lipstick and makeup powder. Comete is surprisingly bitter and almondy, which is really nice. - Dries down to this super fluffy, soft musk. You can almost feel the cushions in how soft this musk is. (Not the same musk in 1957 - which while I love, doesn't have this "pillowy" feel) I know people are saying it's "generic", I would disagree in my experience. The "generic" equivalent of the Les Exclusifs range of perfumes are #1 Beige and #2 Gardenia. Not a fan of those either - but thankfully, this doesn't resemble either of them in the slightest. But this one is really interesting. It's bitter, sparkling, powdery, lightly floral and very classy. Gorgeous. I loved it enough to decide to buy it within two minutes of testing it (at retail price). I've had it on my skin since, and still no regrets. Scent: Fluffy, powdery almond with a hint of bitterness Projection: Arm's length (don't be fooled! This is one of the stronger ones in the Les Exclusifs range!) Longevity: Full day Polarity: Leans slightly feminine, but my skin actually turns this bitter enough to be almost unisex.

Comete starts with a cloud of bitter almond and heliotrope and then shifts towards cherry blossom. The cherry blossom is pink, sweet and slightly sour. It's a mixture of sour cherry and dusty rose, and kind of heavy on the first few minutes. With time the orris butter shines more and more. The concentration of orris butter is indeed exceptional, this is the main character of the fragrance, surrounded by the sweet'n'sour cherry blossom, the powdery heliotrope and the crisp and airy musks/aldehydes combination. The orris butter is so rich, at moments it's a dense and thin vegetal powder, and at other times it can feel greasy, even sticky. It does have a minor ressemblance to Flower by Kenzo (sweet floral notes) but I prefer Comete, the orris in this is so beautiful it elevates the fragrance to another level, adding a nice depth and longevity. One complain I have is I feel the quality varies a lot between batches. I smelled one batch which had almost no almond in the beginning, very little heliotrope and too much cherry blossom throughout its whole evolution. And another had a beautiful powdery almond opening, less cherry blossom, and maybe a little less of the orris butter note. I'm disappointed in that, considering the price point I would have expected more consistency between batches. I wonder if it's inherent to the high concentration in orris butter, maybe there are significant scent variation depending on the harvest ? Nevertheless a beautiful creation, definitely worthy of the Chanel DNA while being refreshingly modern and youthful. The scent evolution somehow embodies a growing path, from girly to sophisticated.

On my skin, it opens up extremely feminine, a blast of Cherry Blossom's and a plethora of other bright florals, almost smells a little rosy as well, but after the Sakura dies down, the Iris comes in, and it becomes a unisex leaning feminine scent,(definitely caught me off guard, as I didn't read the notes beforehand 😅). The Iris in this is very powdered and has a slight hint of sweetness but only a touch, I haven't smelt Heliotrope before (I think?)so I think the unique slight nuttiness is from that accord, but it's quite understated and behind the Iris, and of course, like with other 'Les Exclusifs De Chanel' fragrances, it's accentuated by clean slightly fresh musks, and a fair dose of powderyness to round out the bottom of the fragrance. It's a very simplistic DNA (in a good way), the only changes it goes through on my skin is the transition from the floral Sakura opening to the drydown of the notes I described above, with the florals and cherry blossom's being still present albeit in a supportive role at the base. Smells clean and elegant, something about it smells both old fashioned yet modern at the same time to my nose, both of them are in a good way though. This leans feminine for me, but I love wearing it as a guy to be honest, I'm not sure if I'd get a full bottle personally but if I had it on hand I'd give it a shot, it's a good spring fragrance and/or moderate weather in general, can't see much of a use case in winter or hot summer days though. This can easily be dressed up or dressed down as well, on my skin I get medium projection, with longevity being around 5-6 hours on my skin Final Verdict 8/10

This is one of the few fragrances I have where the strength, projection and especially longevity is nuclear. I have a 200ml bottle of Comete and if you know the pressurized sprayers on these, it practically drowns your whole arm with the juice off of one spray. I sprayed it on one evening and I could still smell it on my skin and clothes the following night. Granted it's a skin scent by then, but it's still fairly strong after more than 24 hours! I don't experience that with many other scents so I felt compelled to share this. I'm sure the longer it macerates, the stronger it gets. It's a great scent. I would never wear this in the summer though. A 75ml would've been more than sufficient for me. This bottle might just get handed down through ages. It's quite magical how it develops on your skin. Initially, I was put off by it because the opening comes off very feminine but the musks in the base interacts and balances out the scent into a somewhat neutral, feminine leaning territory. I swear I could smell cigarette smoke or a ash note in this. Wonder if Polge snuck a note of tobacco in this. Maybe it's just me and my scent memory from the 80's when many of the women would smoke and cover up that scent with the strong musks and intense floral perfumes. It also reminded me of a dusty library with fresh flowers in it. Chanel's les exclusives doesn't disappoint and this would rank right up there with the other great ones. Comete has that ability with a few people I know including myself, that it wasn't something they enjoyed much until it eventually grows on them slowly and then it's a love.

I was surprised how much I love this. I just bought a sample because we don’t have a store where I live where you can test it. I paid way too much for a free sample someone probably got with a purchase from a Chanel boutique. That is my stupidity because when I bought another perfume online from the Chanel store, they offered a free sample of this with the purchase. Anyway, I was not prepared to love it. Cherry blossom? I did not really believe I would care for something that featured cherry blossom, but boy is this nice. It is a bit sweet and I don’t go for a lot of sweetness, but this is done in the best way! Then it gets soft and powdery but there is some excitement and fun here and not dusty or cloying like you have been hit in the face with some bath or makeup powder that makes you cough. Somehow, this is like freshness. Then there is a lovely musk that comes in to ground us gently after our giddy flight on this comet! It stays with me for hours and my skin eats florals and fruits quickly. At times it seems kind of purple. Violety? Maybe the purple smell, as if scent were a color, is actually the bright blue that seems almost purple from the heliotrope. Whatever, it is a lovely fragrance. Olivier Polge did something special here. I am kind of sad to like it so well because other Chanels are already breaking my bank and the Les Exclusifs line is spendy! I will have to wait a while, since I have other perfumes on my want list, but I will enjoy my samples to tide me over until I can buy a full bottle.

I'm grateful to my generous friend Gretta, who shared a nice-size decant with me. At the current price--about $500 a pop--it's beyond my power to justify buying, but I have been curious about it for a long time, since it came out, at any rate. I understand the comparisons to my beloved Misia, although this one is more youthful and tender, with a distinct cherry accord (both fruit and blossom) combining with the heliotrope to create a refined almond-flour, powdery effect. The iris note ramps up the powderiness still more, and it's the iris (possibly orris, too) that accounts for the faint resemblance to Misia. Comète actually reminds me even more of a classic from another house: Guerlain L'Instant Magic. I also noted similarities to Swan Princess by Vagabond Prince and Junoon Noir. Recommended for when you want to smell soapy, immaculate, and all powdered and pampered up. That said, if you would like to smell like this for a lot less money, consider the Guerlain L'Instant Magic, which you can usually find for a reasonable price online or even the Dua impression thereof, Her Instant Magic. I suppose I have a red line when it comes to perfume cost, and sadly Chanel has ensured that the Les Exclusifs line is now well beyond it. I will hoard what remains of my current stashes as long as I can, and Chanel can market its most exclusive wares to the oligarch class, I guess.

It's difficult not to fall in love with this one if you're a fan of powdery/heliotrope/iris scent like me. It's fluffy, sparkling, very slightly sweet and a little bit floral. Heliotrope is often paired with some vanilla, gourmand notes but not here and it's quite interesting. Has some sort of very cosmetic powdery aspect that is clean (not dirty at all, don't worry). Not mature, nor girly. It actually does not smells "Chanel". It's more ... carefree ? Less sophisticated/serious than other typical Chanel Exclusif fragrances in my opinion. It's much more easy to wear. I felt pretty just wearing it. Relatively long lasting on my skin (several hours) and my skin usually soaks up any perfume. The dry-down is soft and inviting. Very feminine. The quality is there. Worth the price in my opinion. The 75ml bottle will last for a while... It's rare that I'm planning to buy a fragrance at such a price but for this one this is fine. Oh and I love the name. Comète ! It does really shine like a comet in the sky. Top office scent, also. I need some, I own too many oddballs fragrances to be honest. Boyriend made a compliment first time he smelled this one. One woman that was next to me in the subway told me right away "you smell beautiful". You cannot deny that people love smelling this one on others.

Received my bottle this morning... love it. This was a blind test that suprised me very much and very pleasantly as les exclusives have dissapointed me more than once before. It is an iris violetty powdery fragrance, surely not for everybody. Could remind you of a lady (I am 48). I don't think this is unisex at all, it is quite feminine in my eyes. This does not mean that a man can't pull this off :-). So far it has lasted 5 hours on my skin. Little projection indeed, almost a skin scent, but that makes it suitable for more occassions. The dry down has a little something of a dirty note... I couldn't put my finger in it until I remembered Putain des Palaces from Etat Libre D'orange. Although FR does not mention the same notes, to me they have a similar vibe. PdP having a much more pronounced dirty note, yes like body odour. ELD'O describes it as the smell of a prostitute's body after doing her job with the King in his Palast. I agree, there is a sweaty armpit note there inPdP... I perceived a, albeit very faint, similar note in Comete. I had not expected it here. It is like the queen (comete) vs the maitresse (PdP) in my head. I super-like Comete... too bad for the price tag. Ridiculous price imo.

After wearing this for a couple weeks I want to comment again. If you're looking for something identifiable, this could be a winner for you. This is not only my favorite chanel, but probably in my top 20 favorite perfumes. Chanel killed it with this one. I'm so glad I got the 200ml. Well worth the money. It isn't an inexpensive perfume, so my advice would be to sample it first. I have not met someone who doesn't like this. It is not super complicated to comprehend, but definitely rich and high quality. Not much else can be said that hasn't been said. The description of notes and accords is spot on. I don't get lipstick or baby powder with this like when I first smelled Dior Homme Intense. But I must admit, over time those types of scents have grown on me. I have become an iris lover. I think clean and tart and slightly sweet would best describe this. Smells of modern, rich class. Posh, as the brits describe it. Longevity 8hours Projection 5ft Do not spray this on the front of your neck or chest it can be overwhelming, especially in the higher temperatures. I do one spray on each wrist and one on the back of the neck. 3 spray banger!

This perfume is lovely! As an iris fragrance lover, I'm a bit biased, but Comète goes in a direction I adore: soft, refined, luxurious, and easy to wear. It makes me feel both comfortable and elegant. On both skin and blotter, Comète opens softly—smooth, airy, with a touch of almond-like bitterness, balanced by dry iris-suede notes. The heliotrope adds a sweetness rarely found in the Les Exclusifs line. The iris reminds me of No. 19 Poudre, with aldehydes adding a light, airy touch. The violet note feels reminiscent of Misia, another Chanel favorite with a "lipsticky" vibe. This fragrance is more potent than some in the Les Exclusifs range, though not as strong as Le Lion or Cuir de Russie. It lasts 7–8 hours on my skin, evolving beautifully throughout the day, with moderate projection (half-arm's length with two sprays). To me, it leans more feminine. I rate Comète 7/10. While not for everyone, its quality is undeniable. For iris lovers, I'd give it an 8.5/10. It’s elegant, timeless, cozy, and rich—simply delicious. Con: It’s quite expensive.

I need to test a couple of times more before I form a concrete opinion. First impression, I got Iris and aldehydes. The aldehydes here are not sharp and soapy, which is good. I have a few iris fragrances, but this one is very different than my other iris-dominant perfumes. I think it’s very competently blended. Update: 05/29/2024. I tested this again today. The first second of the opening is beautiful iris. Then it immediately comes other notes. I let it dry for awhile, and there was this floaty iris powder, almost reminiscent of Fragonard Belle de Paris but more complex. Comete has that distinct Chanel feel but aldehydes dialed down. It’s serenely beautiful. Update: 06/14/2025. I got a mini splash, and after a year I decided to wear more regularly. And this gets better and better each time I wear. Beautiful diaphanous powdery Iris that’s not overly feminine or sweet, is definitely not like baby powder, and has Je ne Sais Quoi complexity that’s not heavy. And Chanel-esque. Upgrading to love. Gorgeous, elegant, sophisticated. Luxurious.

I, ve just tried Comete. What a lovely perfume! So elegant, so refined. Definitely a Chanel exclusive! Though a bit more simple and less dense than some of the strong oriental or chypre fragrances in the range, this one has the high quality and finesse of Les Exclusifs! The mix of iris and violets is beautiful. It is a walk in a romantic garden. The notes separation is there, changing softly the aroma and showing a different facette of the Comete bijou. It is not a loud perfume, but a gentle one instead. From all the suggestions of the readers here I find it the most similar to L'Instant Magic by Guerlain. From afar they are almost identical. But if you wear them both as I do, I must say that Chanel is of higher quality. Guarlain's fragrance is stronger, marzipan like and sweeter. Comete is more transparent, ephemeral, whispering. Only the base you smell on the next day is a bit plain musky but still it is my favorite new fragrance!

Found this in Harrods whilst trying to find a cheaper alternative to Iris Pallida. This is 1/4th the price (same price but bottle in 4x larger). Was unsure about it, went home and sat on the tester strip and grew to love it more with each day. Found it duty free at the airport in a 75ml travel size and decided I liked it enough. I use it as an airier option if I feel like an iris perfume and don't want to suffocate my company with Iris Pallida. In a tropical climate, my date said I smelled really nice, and leaned in to savour the elegant elevated Iris heliotrope cloud. On a freezing cold English day, I was in the car with a friend and she commented that she really liked my perfume and took down the name of it. It's very inoffensive, pleasant, classy, non cloying, easy on everyone's nose, for day and night, all seasons. One of my most versatile perfumes. Will probably get the 200ml when I get the chance.

I love Comète and left a short review saying so when it first came out. But now that I’ve smelled Le Gallion’s Sortilège (originally 1937, reissued in 2014), I realize to what extend Polge has reworked a classical theme for Chanel. Sortilège is more aldehydic up top as can be expected from a vintage perfume, but the lily of the valley and lilac smell very modern and very close to Comète’s cherry accord. The florals last longer in Sortilège, which ultimately make it a more interesting wear for me. On the other hand, a great deal of the pleasure of Comète comes from its diffusiveness. It just swirls around the wearer in the most beautiful way. Sortilège stays closer to the skin. Ultimately, since Sortilège is $210 USD for 100ml while Comète is insanely priced at $241 for 75ml, I know which one I’d recommend.

Masterful creation dedicated to the "Bijoux de diamants" collection, created in 1932 by Mademoiselle Coco Chanel: collection that included the legendary and sparkling Comète necklace that adorned the neck in an innovative and sensual way. Comète is a dream, a wonderful olfactory, romantic journey under the cherry blossom trees that the Japanese love so much. The pink flowers of Sakura. The perfume is surprisingly realistic, you can almost perceive the dry dustiness of the pollen, the delicate purity of the rosy Sakura petal magically amplified by the unexpected and vibrant aldehyde notes so dear to Mademoiselle, the bold and dominant note of Heliotrope which blends with the dark and nocturnal Iris. Amazing dry down that leaves you breathless. It just needs to be worn and loved. Marvelous.

This perfume is my favorite in the Les Exclusifs range and the one I find to be the most wearable. I recently purchased the large 200ml bottle and I can't stop wearing it. The opening reminds me of an amalgamation of other Chanel perfumes - No 19 Poudre, Beige, & No 5 Eau Premier. The opening is my least favorite part of the scent journey but I find that to be a pattern with most of Chanel perfumes as the dry down is where the magic really happens. In the dry down I get a chalky iris with subtle chewy almond, must, and a lot of powder. For some reason, the dry down smells like if you combined 1957 with Coco Noir. It is warm, enveloping, classic, timeless without smelling dated. This is the Chanel perfume where the opening and the dry down are the most different. My new favorite Chanel.

Help me Jesus because I'm going to have to have to buy a bottle of this... (gulp! The price...). This is magical. I'm getting different things from most people here. In me this opens up like a pop of sweet marzipan. It's strong and sweet, as if this was going to be a grown up gourmand. But it's a happy, sparkly opening happiness. It develops into a green, sharp iris, much more masculine. Then the dry down is sweeter again, very musky, cosy, powdery but "expensive", nothing "lipsticky" about it. It's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. There's a transparent woody/greeny vibe underneath the whole sweetness of the almond and flowery femenimity of the iris that is simply indescriptible. Only a genius like Olivier Polge could have come up with this. Superb.

To my nose, it's a softer Misia with added vanilla and musk. Compared to fabrics, Misia is a crisp tulle netting while Comète is more cashmere. I love both but Comète is my preference. Longevity isn't too terrible, I get about 3 hours before it turns into a skin scent but that does last. As with many, my bottle is about a month old and longevity has improved over that time. I actually love it now, it's really grown on me. It's a must try for lovers of Iris Poudre too, I think if you love IP, you'll love Comète too. Those who miss Vanille d'Iris by Ormonde Jayne might find Comète is a good replacement for that. I don't always enjoy ' prickly, rooty' irises so a soft iris such as Comète is most welcome in my fragrance stable.

I purchased this upon its first release and had such high hopes! I am a Chanel girly! They truly are the perfume house that holds my heart. When I first received it I was so disappointed...almost a scrubber. Everything was just so sharp and screechy with no balance or blend. So I put it in my display cabinet and did not touch it. For over a year it sad unfriended with not even a glance. Then, not sure why, one evening after a shower I grabbed her and gave her some attention!! Holy moly how this changes after it macerates!!!!! Now she is EXACTLY what I hoped she would be when I first purchased her. She is soft, delicate and PERFECTLY blended. She is absolutely beautiful and I am in love!!

Finally got my hands on Comète... Ever since it launched, I had my eyes, rather nose, set on it. 😛 I still feel the name Comète doesn’t exactly align with what this scent is... To me, Comète should have felt larger than life, more galactic and universal. This one, on the other hand, is a delightful, blossoming bouquet... so pretty, graceful, and full of love. It’s a scent I’d wear on Valentine’s Day or to a special gathering... I dont smell anything edgy or “comet like” here. Maybe this could have been called “Soft Hugs” lol... but irrespective, I love it so much and I’m so happy it’s finally in my collection... I love it when I catch random whiffs of it as Im on the go. - Bhavna Darira

After smelling every Chanel Les Exclusifs perfume, this is the only one I really connected to, so I have the 200ml now. On a side note, I once went through fragrantica and cataloged the rankings of men's and women's fragrances, and some of the biggest sellers for women are consistently rated under 4. There are so many that men rate over 4, and over a 4.4 the volume amongst women's is abysmal. So, with comete currently sitting at a 4.14, it is actually an extraordinary feat, with respect to the evidence of how difficult it is to please women. You may hate this comment, but it is more evidence to my point. Now you're thinking, "how do I report this?" You can't lol

Based on one test on skin, this is like a mix between Chanel no 5 Eau Premier and Chanel no 22, which I both love. I am a huge fan of Insolence by Guerlain as well, and Comete borders on that violet/iris territory, as someone mentioned earlier. The reference to Parisienne by YSL is also fitting, but where Parisienne is cool and metallic Comete comes across as warm and textile-like. The dry down is a quite generic skin scent, but with class. Like a high quality sun lotion. Wish it wasn't so pricey though, since I could defitively see this becoming a summer signature scent. I will keep my eyes open for second hand bargains.

Amazed by the cosmic powdery joy of Comète and blown away into the outer depths of the solar system by the beauty of this scent. I would highly recommend at least sampling this new creation at your nearest Chanel boutique. Just like a calming breeze, this scent is a peaceful figure in the background, never too near yet never too far at the same time. Exceptional stuff from Mr Polge, I truly can’t resist more Chanel aldehydes and iris!

A little powdery, dated and cold, but it's still beautiful.The heliotrope gives off a pretty almond scent bubble, and the musk is clean and not screechy. The aldehydes are fresh, dialed down, and present well - there's nothing synthetic about them at all. The cherry blossom hangs in for a while too which is nice. Comete is very similar to Guerlain Rose Cherie with the almondy, musky florals. I usually prefer a warmer buttery Iris, but I can still see myself purchasing a full bottle as Comete is a safe inoffensive reach. Were Chanel to make a fabric softener, this is what you would get.

Smelled every Les Exclusifs fragrance today and this one completely blew me off my feet. My first chanel les exclusifs purchase. To me, this is not your standard old school chanel. This is a modern, forward-thinking fragrance. There is something slightly sweet and nutty, probably the heliatrope. It's not too powdery or aldahidic imo. Some of the chanels are either too woody, sweet, floral, or aldahidic. This is not too much of anything. Not an explosive projector, but definitely good. I loved this enough for the 200ml. Scent 9/10 Projection 7/10 Longevity 7/10

I tried in store and my first impression was not very good. There is a note in the opening that I don't like, might be the cherry blossom or heliotrope? I am not sure but after about 15 minutes when the note wore off, I liked it better and it became a soft, aldehyde, very typical of Chanel DNA. For the price tag, ($630 for 200 ml Australian Dollars) I feel I have to be in love with the fragrance so I will keep on trying it to see if it "grows on me"? I hope so because I love Chanel fragrances especially the Les Exclusifs range of fragrances.

Chanel and Guerlain made a beautiful child, Comète! She reminds me of Guerlain, especially French Kiss and L'Instant Magic. From Chanel, of course Misia. Comète is not for loud statement. Like Beige, it gives me relaxed cozy feeling. Think about a quiet space in modern minimalist house, a soft murmur of elegant people. Think about the highest quality beauty powder in the crystal box, its texture is so soft, almost buttery. The touch of a fluffy puff against your skin. A cloud of ballerina pink powder. It's the way Comète smells like.

This is a really lovely and unusual fragrance and so perfectly named. It was love at first sniff for me. I think it’s the aldehydes that give it a such bright, clean, sparkling, luminous feel, with very fresh almonds and cherries to the fore. Imagine lying on a carpet of soft pink cherry blossoms in an orchard in the South of France on a cool spring night, watching a comet streak across the starry heavens. Wearing a little white dress of course. Comète smells how cherry blossoms mixed with moonshine and stardust should.

Opening for me is very strong bitter almond with a touch of cherry. But mainly I am getting almonds ! Then somewhere in the background Iam registering heliotrope . BUT what gets me is the dry down !! It is some sort of sweet vintage lipstick and for some reason I am imagining a beautiful elegant lady wearing a high quality cotton sweater in light cream color , sunkissed blond hair drinking her latte somewhere on the terrace. So cozy and clean and rich scent . Delicious

Love this scent. The third Chanel exclusive in my collection. Better than eau de cologne and 1957. For me at least. Floral and powered cherry blossom scent but by no means too floral or overpowering. Just wonderful. Normally on me a fragrance goes through the standard opening, mid, base progression. Comete has better depth in its profile on my skin. Even after many hours if I bury my nose in my arm I can smell multiple layers. Also a good scent to re-apply before bed.

☄️ Cometé feels like sparkling bitter cherry fresh juice with some florals. I think it's the aldehydes there, giving it a fizzy laundry texture. There's something very classic and chic about it. Quite nice. Edit: As it dries down, it becomes soft and creamy with musk and powdery facets of iris and heliotrope. I can't wait to stun the females with this beauty. Update: I do get a Versace Crystal Noir EDT feel with a violet accord, even though it's not listed.

Personally, I love this! It opens bright with that cherry blossom, Chanel aldehydes and I swear I get violets here. It then settles into a fresh clean musk and powder from the purple florals. The deep dry down is actually my favorite bc this subtle yet beautiful vanilla comes out to play. I'm in love. It feels like Comete just melts right into my skin and becomes one with my own chemistry, I don't find it to be loud but it does last on me.

I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of Chanel. You either love the brand or your don't. Comete is the only fragrance from the brand I truly love. This is the most beautiful dusting of iris and cherry blossom. It's so calming and comforting without turning too animalic and powdery, something that seems to happen to fragrances in this genre (Iris Pallida is great example of this). Comete is grounded, poised, and shows necessary restraint.

This is such a pretty, ethereal fragrance. This was a quick grab from my stash this am and I had zero regrets choosing this one today. It isn't the longest lasting fragrance in my collection but it is one of the prettiest. I certainly didn't mind topping it up midday but once I did I got whiffs of this as I moved about. It smells quite otherworldly to me - like something a fairy would wear. It is also very spenny!

So far the most beautiful iris fragrance I have as a man in my collection. Great enough to be a signature, but preferably a special occasions scent with a spick and span outfit to match that aura. Beige was such a dissapointment... this is glorious! I love anything with violets, iris, powdery... think: Les meterorites, Spring violets, L'Instant Magique... Comete will always be among the great ones. I love it. At the moment 6 hours and it is still going strong. It is a bit linear, but I have never judged linearity as something bad in a perfume. Already saving!

Musk, lots of musk, but good ones. Not the laundry type, that was 1957. Comète is soft sweet musk, very cozy. I agree with the review likening it to Guerlain’s French Kiss, it has a similar close to the skin feel good quality. I can also smell violets, faintly, definitely not as nuclear as Insolence or waxy like Misia. Chanel always delivers class. I’m loving it.

Oh my GOD! It's so good! The REAL thing. I love it even thought I use sample that Chanel sent me. I have a desire to purchase full bottle. It's so pretty sweet powdery, it invokes sexuality (sorry that I'm too honest, but this is true), it lasts so long and believe me - you need 1 spray only on you hair line fore example. It's a diamond, real Chanel 💎 💍

It is mahleb! Mahleb, also known as mahlepi, is a spice that comes from the seeds of a type of cherry tree and has a fruity flavor similar to bitter almonds and cherries. If moonlight had a signature scent, it’d wear Comète while sipping something French and judging quietly. It’s stardust in a bottle - soft, luminous, and a little bit flirty. Think pearlescent petals, champagne bubbles, and silk blouses that never wrinkle. It’s effortless elegance with a twinkle of playfulness.

I’m not sure I’m classy enough to wear this. It exudes old money, house in the Hamptons sophistication. It’s very powdery and iris forward, reminding me a bit of Merit’s Retrospect. I can also smell the almond and a bit more floral notes on dry-down. Very demure. I like it.

At first spray it smells like Chanel no. 5. But after a few minutes it dries down to a powdery, cherry blossom/floral smell. It's really soft and pleasant. Think of a powdery version of Byredo La Tulipe. Totally different from Chanel' DNA but it smells really nice.

I had the chance to try it today, it’s very light and feminine, the projection is weak unfortunately but scent is 9/10. I love that Aldehydes are not too present. I can smell more of the iris and heliotrope. I’m definitely getting a bottle

A sweeter, and powdery version of Chanel no. 5. It smells like an expensive body lotion/powder. It doesn't scream Chanel though. I feel like I've smelled this before on Avon when I was a kid. For the price it's not worth it.

This is the 1st Chanel I like. I don't have any other Chanel fragrances. This also my favorite amongst the skin scents that I have. Definitely recommend but definitely get a sample 1st. For me, it's full bottle worthy.

I just bought this in Dallas FW airport, impulse buy . I sprayed it and walked out to return to my gate and within 5 min I went back to purchase. It’s been a week and it’s in my top 10 favorite perfumes!
