Les Exclusifs de Chanel Beige

There is nothing that beats Chanel perfumes. The craftsmanship, that rounded softness, the unmistakable DNA—it's unlike anything else. Once you discover a few Chanel fragrances and begin to understand that DNA, you're spellbound. Most other perfume houses are starting to feel completely inadequate. Find 2-3 special scents that speak to you and make those your signatures and do not waste your time or money on other brands. This is another magical creation. I don't care that it's marketed toward women. In fact, that's something Fragrantica came up with; Chanel's website doesn't mention gender for any of the Les Exclusifs fragrances. Nevertheless, this is an incredible scent. It smells like sun-warmed skin on a summer evening at sunset—the golden hour, those last lingering rays of sunlight. It's heavy on freesia, frangipani and honey. The drydown is mostly frangipani, honey but also white musk creating something creamy exotic without getting overly sweet or tropical. It reminds me of a sunset dinner by the beach at some exotic Asian destination. Pure serenity. It brings a warm, creamy and soothing aura around you and has a great projection although it stays close to skin but lasts a good 8-10 hours. This is a fragrance I will cherish. It's not something I'll wear to the office—I don't want it associated with deadlines or stress. Instead, it will be my safe haven, reserved for time spent with close family and friends, or simply for myself. I managed to find an almost full 75 ml bottle on eBay for €105. What a bargain.

My sister was in Paris during the holidays and she went a "little" crazy buying me a Christmas gift. She winded up in a Chanel-store and decided to buy me one of the perfumes of the exclusives line. She had named my favorite perfumes to the sales lady and based on that she had blindly bought a bottle of 200 ml of 'Beige' for me. Yes, blindly, not even trying it herself. I had read on the site of Chanel about the exclusive fragrances and based on that, I would have bought 'Gardenia'. So you can imagine that we were both nervous opening and trying it. The first five minutes we thought... Oh no, Beige is boring and generic! But after only a couple of minutes Beige began to develop quickly. Luckily it developed into a very fascinating and unique fragrance. Beige is definitely not boring. It is not stuffy, it is not for invisible librarians who wish to remain unnoticed behind big glasses... Nonono, Beige is made for a lady, a Real Lady. If I would describe the regular fragrances of Chanel in one word, I would say: - Allure & Allure sensuelle = sensual - Chance = charming, Chance Tendre = innocent, Chance Fraiche = sparkling - Coco = sexy, Coco Mademoiselle = sassy, Coco noir = naughty - Cristalle = cool - N° 5 = sophisticated - N° 19 & N° 19 poudré = fresh Knowing that, I would describe Beige as elegant. Effortlessly and timelessly elegant. It's wonderful, just wonderful.

I love Beige. I was not expecting to fall hard for this one. I find it charming, uncomplicated, very feminine, soft, elegant, comforting, understated, powdery, classy. It's like a soft cashmere shawl (...a beige one!). Not aldehydic as you would think, not too honeyed, not sweet buy cuddly. On the other hand you'll find violets and iris, both tender, soft and comfortable. I can detect orange blossom, even if it's not listed and freesia, one of my favourite flowers ever. Jasmine also, but very subdued. I get a hint of gardenia too.. not mentioned either. You see there are many notes, so well blended that I discover a new one day after day! Indeed, this is a comfort scent. ‘I take shelter in beige because it’s natural,’ Gabrielle Chanel used to say. I can totally see that, this fragrance evokes a soft, cashmere lined sweater where you can cocoon in and forget about the outer world. Another well present note is Hawthorne, you know that tree that blossoms in spring with those tiny little white flowers, and has this peculiar, flowery green smell... when I sniff Beige it reminds me of spring. A go-to fragrance when you need to be comforted and reassured, or if you need something feminine and pretty, but not overly so. Great for day wear. Elegant but discreet sillage, average lasting power (I wish it lasted more!). A must try.

This is my review for Les Exclusifs Chanel Beige. I have left it a very long time before writing about this because I wanted to leave a review which was worthy of such a gorgeous perfume. I was given a decant of this some time back. I knew from the moment I first spritzed that I would have to be very careful not to waste a single drop of what I can only describe as the nectar of the gods. Imagine yourself cocooned in a huge vat of honey and frangipani. Cloying you may think. Sickly you may think. But I would say, think again. For me, it is as if someone had tranquilised me with a dart gun of the most relaxing, calming elixir that could be found. But please don't think that this is so relaxing it could put you to sleep, because just when everything is settling down on me I am pinched very gently by a small bouquet of freesias. The effect of the freesia means the whole experience is taken to another level. There may be few ingredients in this expensive perfume but for me the ingredients it does have are perfectly blended and worth every penny of my hard earned husbands money. Try it and hopefully you will be as transfixed as I am. Edit: I also have Flora Nymphea. May be some small similarity but this is in a leagus of it's own.

Sweet, oh-so sweet frangipani. A simple, very sweet, clean frangipani scent! This is a slight detour for Chanel. I've found that Chanel don't typically do very sweet perfumes. They all tend to be of a deeper aromatic scent with more complexity and layers (like an onion...). Whilst this is lovely in its simplicity, the lack of embellishment does not support the price-tag. This is basically a very sweet (freesia helping with that sweetness) frangipani scent. If you're looking for honey, it's not overly abundant. There's no pungent, naturalistic, sourced-from-bees honey here. If there is honey, it's lost in the freesia and frangipani. "Beige" as a name is slightly misleading. This perfume would be more appropriate as a simple yellow. Happy, pretty, uplifting, and straight-forward. To grant credit where it's due - It does have *beautiful* sillage! Hours later, I catch lovely wafts and enjoy the almost-pungent sweet elegance. Longevity is quite the decent. Bottom line: It's a beautiful, sweet, elegant fragrance, yet it's so very simple and so very expensive, that you'd be better off finding a dupe (if you can). P.S. Sorry for the "Shrek" reference. Completely irrelevant, but impossible to avoid. :P *** Kitty rating: 7/10.

I cannot get over how much I love this! I have a sample and really would love to get more but this is just too expensive for a full bottle. I’ll probably settle for getting the smaller size splasher. I am usually a gourmand/spice type of gal. But I’ve been looking for an all around daily scent and florals to like. Usually florals (yellow) induce headaches for me but this one being mostly white florals and so creamy does me well!! I love it so much. First spray: kind of sharp almost like a note of pink pepper but drys down very fast Dry down: it turns into such a beautiful clean scent. It isn’t soap like but just clean. Imagine standing behind a pastry shop that’s nestled in a field of Lily’s in your freshly washed linen outfit with a very mild breeze going. This smell just makes me happy! Hours after dry down you still get the creamy florals, mostly lily to my nose, but the honey starts to softly take over. Similar to how honey in tea gives just a hint of a sweet aroma. I do think this is feminine leaning but I could see a man wearing it also. Sillage is not strong but def is more projecting on clothing. If nothing else just try out a sample. I have a picky nose especially with florals and I’m in love.

Frangipani, Honey, Freesia, Hawthorn Chanel skin scent (Powdery, creamy, and floral). Out of the Les Exclusifs de Chanel line, I feel Beige definitely appeals to the majority who is interested in acquiring one Chanel perfume from the les Exclusifs line. It doesn’t feel like Chanel no 5 type. The smell matches the colour beige; innocent, smooth, warm, simple, sophisticated, and refined. I feel that most of the perfumes within the Les Exclusifs de Chanel line has a Chanel vintage powdery scent that might suits mature audience, but to me Beige doesn’t have that strong vintage vibe and it feels it suits for younger audience who has a mature personality. Perfect for late 20’s to 30’s. Overall, this is a frangipani and honey dominant scent with a touch of a light Chanel-DNA vibe. Sophisticated, classy, luxurious, and light. It’s a love for me ❤️ ▪️Longevity: weak; 3 hours ▪️Versatility: Everyday & all seasons. Day. Feminine scent. Blind-buy safe within the Les Exclusifs de Chanel line. Inoffensive and neutral. A scent that doesn’t distract anyone. Office appropriate fragrance. ▪️Sillage: moderate ▪️Projection: soft and sit close to the skin then very intimate

Absolutely adore this fragrance. I’m addicted to the opening — it’s so evocative to me that it borders synesthesia, with spring greens and violets and yellows dancing in my head before settling into a golden glow of honey. It’s a clean floral without the musk while still hiding a hint of warmth. Where Chanel Gardenia is purple and blue and cold, Beige is green and yellow and warm. Its only flaw is that all of these scents are delicate, without staying power. I can still detect it on my skin towards the middle of the day, but only as a distant memory. Perhaps it’s for the best, I tend to get tired of scents that linger past their welcome and quite possibly love this one all the more because it leaves too soon. As much as I love it I do think it’s not for everyone, and can see how it could be a bit dull for anyone looking for a sultrier, sexier fragrance, something with more complexity, or expecting more of a tropical paradise feel from a frangipani. But for me it’s everything that is beautiful and nothing that is not —delicate, floral and ephemeral.

The color beige is monotonous, featureless, neutral, non-descript, drab, basically uninteresting...zzzzz CHANEL BEIGE, Jacques Polges interpretation of the color, on the other hand, is anything but beige! It's a bright, yellow frangipani and pristine white freesia. It's a golden honey and thin greenish flower stems. It couldn't be less beige if it tried! I find it a rather emphatic honeyed floral. It gets straight to the point of being beautiful,arresting even. It quickly becomes a focal point for both the wearer and those lucky enough to be nearby. The frangipani moves smoothly through the honey note, preventing it from becoming too 'thick', too sweet and sticky in presentation. Frangipani has a co-staring and linear role with the best honey note in perfumery. Both are perfectly executed and balanced in this composition, from top to bottom which comes (impressively) hours and hours later. There are many honey/floral combinations on the market. ALL are 'beige' in comparison.

THIS is how I want my powdery fragrance to smell!! At first, it starts with a loud, slightly sharp soapy floral note that I was expecting to take over the fragrance, It is kind of reminiscent of dish soap ever so slightly.... but then after about 10 minutes, it blooms into this gorgeous, powdery, but not stuffy fresh floral, clean scent. I am reminded of a soap I once fell in love with the scent of and hoped I'd one day find it in a perfume. Well that day has arrived!!! Yippee!. So good in warm weather, very comforting. Not cheap or chemically smelling. This had a lot of thought put into it. Well rounded, soft, cozy. Sillage is good, longevity good. Drydown- BEAUTIFUL! Feminine. Definitely FB worthy! Unlike any other Chanel I've experienced! Edit: If you want to smell like Baby lotion but grown up, this is the perfect scent! I can't get enough! Sorry Coromandel, you'll have to wait until fall. I'm making Beige my first Les Exclusifs purchase!

Honey, you are lovely! You smell like an acacia blossom and taste like a honey. Yummy-yummy! Such a summer scent: sunny, sweet, spicy and yet subtle and close to the skin. Great to put it on in a cool weather to warm yourself up. There is some aroma of exotic sanctuary here; meditative and healing that always restores your senses to its usual timber. Holiday smell...you are away, somewhere in Tahiti, away from everything mundane...Who wouldn't love that ?! Piquantness of all accords here transforms their sweetness into everlasting novelty of this almond beauty....Beige solstice...Bliss! P.S. If you are not comfortable with a long haul and are money wise, more affordable destinations might be appealing to you too; then try Elige, Mary Kay EDT and you will be surprised by the alikeness of these two perfumes; the same fresh floral spicy flavour (freesia is prominent here and there). I reviewed Beige in 2013 but recently love it again so have to write more about it. Beige to me is a fresh clean , sweet soapy smell like freshly washed long , still wet hair. Someone mentioned Johnston and Johnston baby shampoo , I think that is spot on except for it's more than that ,it's more fragrant and more sophisticated but it really does remind me of That shampoo and when I wore Beige the other day I had a handful of compliments. I had tugged it away for some time as I once asked my husbands opinion ,,,which was like most of the time ,,,non inthusiastic ,,, never ask a man of his opinion of a fragrance that you love. Men are all about moods and opinions. Once they smell something ON you they rarely hate it. ,,, Beige is sweet , tropical musky and warm. It's fresh and sunny to me , it's clean and soapy ,,, like an amazing shampoo ,,,, it may have to move to the top shelf if I can make room.

This is the sort of perfume I wouldn't usually like as it is quite powdery, yet after buying a sample, I can't stop smelling my wrist. It is certainly a very elegant, classy and gentle fragrance, that I imagine is best for day time during the spring and summer months. As if often the way with good-quality understated perfumes, it really sinks into the skin and smells as though it has been your signature scent forever. I certainly wouldn't say this is tropical. More, a soapy, floral scent with a slight hint of honey. It smells like a rich lady who has just stepped out of the shower. A sophisticated fragrance that smells expensive, I'd say. It won't wow you or knock your socks off, but gorgeous nonetheless. It has kept its place on my wish list.

This is a sophisticated floral, demure, inoffensive, and with impeccable manners. It is beige in name and personality, being neutral but classy. It is very elegant, but quite light compared to other Chanels, more of a skin scent. But all the notes are there, it is immaculately well blended. Warmed by the honey note, the sweetness tempered by the slight woodiness of the hawthorn, with two of the most beautiful flowers. I understand reviews that call this a cold beauty. It seems like something worn by a woman who seems untouchable. I would love this as an everyday fragrance, but the price of this is rather much for that. But finally I have found a Chanel to love.

Classy. Warm but very fresh, flowery but not too much so, ambery, but just a hint of it, a very well balanced perfume. Beige is a real lady and you can tell it's made from high quality ingredients. Note: I only tried it once, as I RAN past the Chanel boutique at Heathrow on my way to board a plane. But. It is lovely! I am truely greatful to the lady in the shop who shouted "Beige" across the room as she saw me approaching the perfumes, I would never have tested a perfume with that name otherwise... I had a very enjoyable flight, sniffing the air around me, and my wrist, with pleasure. Can't wait to try it again (but it's sadly not available in Sweden).

Beige literally smells like the color beige. Best way I can describe this perfume is like a buttery tuberose with a bit of sweetness and a hint of coconut flesh. It has the same feel as Michael by Michael Kors. It reminds me a bit of Banana Boat sunscreen. It has that beachy feel like you just applied a creamy, white floral, banana sunscreen. I don't detect honey in this one, however, I did not try it on my skin. Out of all the perfumes in this line, it's the most mass market smelling. Unlike the other perfumes in this line, Beige has no powderiness whatsoever. Smell: 9 out of 10 Strength: 8 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

You can't lightly spray this perfume to get to it's best performance, cause if you lightly spray this, this going to give you a soapy detergent smell, it's not bad, but some will get headaches.. Never happened with me Anyway.. you need to overspray this to reach to that intoxicating creamy flowers, aaahhh pretty! I could almost smell lemongrass in it.. Yumm Thx for reading :) **Edit** Dec-2017 I mean the opposite when I wrote this, I need to lightly spray this beauty because if you overspray this many will get nausea, perhaps I was having too much red when I made this review above:) :) :D

On my tenth bottle, which may provide a hint that I like--make that love--it. Beige seems to me like a perfume from a hundred years ago, made with modern-day aromachemicals. Part of its appeal for me is a changeable quality. It doesn't smell the same every day. Sometimes one note seems predominent, sometimes another, and you never know which impressions will come to the fore. Even after so many bottles I feel it's hard to grasp what it smells like and I think it's that quality of elusiveness (along with being in my favourite aldehydic floral category) that keeps me coming back for more.

The very best odor a women can wear. I'm automaticaly falling in love with any woman wearing this... mmmm! I can detec a very nice lilac smell, a perfect flower and it's way better than azzaro 9. very feminine and attractive. I really look forward to see the perfume version. 11/10 La plus magnifique odeur qu'une femme puisse porter. Je tombe automatiquement en amour avec toute femme portant ce parfum. Mmmm! Je crois sentir une sorte de lilas du printemps, doux et délicat a la fois. Beaucoup mieux qu' Azzaro 9. Tres attractif et féminin. J'ai bien hâte de sentir la version parfum. 11/10

My absolute favorite Chanel fragrance of all time (it goes Beige, Cristalle eau Verte, and Coco Noir/Coco Mademoiselle tied for third). It is creamy, smooth, and elegant while also being pleasant and low-key enough for casual, daily wear. It's simple and blends seamlessly with the natural scent of my skin. I think that the honey and frangipani work wonderfully together, the freesia adds a slightly fruity aspect to it and that the hawthorn really grounds the scent and keeps it from being too sweet and simplistic. I love it. Would drown happily in this stuff.
