Paris – Biarritz

Good grief this is lovely. Paris-Biarritz is so far my favourite of the few Les Eaux de Chanel I have tried, and to me is something of an Aqua-Allegoria-esque remix on *an* Eau de Cologne, albeit not Chanel EDC itself which I find to be quite different smelling them side-by-side. Paris Biarritz opens with a diurnal, bright citrus complete with acidity and slight harshness, but almost as if in embarrassment immediately loses its tart opening and begins waxing in a manner not dissimilar to something like Pamplelune or Mandarine Basilic. I mean to say here we have, after the 15 second opening fades, a citrus which is polished and non-acrid, rather like eating the peel (and meticulously avoiding the flesh) of a kumquat. The greenness and florals are minor (and perhaps to me marginally too minor) players here, whilst the adulterated citrus meanders aimlessly for around half an hour or so on skin before vanishing with a wink and a voice-cracked chuckle. PB is lovely to smell, and I think is a stellar example of a "dumb reach" summer spray which provides momentary lift and the illusion of coolness. I'm happy to own it and, on account of its fleeting nature, have already made a substantial dent in it. That said, next time I want such a fragrance as this I'd sooner peruse the Aqua Allegorias, which I think maintain the unburdened summer feeling but generally with more creativity and intrigue. A great citrus burst overall though.

Got an official sample with some makeup I bought. This is a musky lemon fragrance with that Chanel-aide in the base and definitely some patchouli. Quite refreshing and very beautiful. A tiny bit of neroli in the heart. Chanel website only talks about lily-of-the-valley, yet I get literally none of it. Can’t believe they don’t even mention lemon, the most obvious note. Lasts a few hours on my skin. No issues with longevity for me in winter, but I this might evaporate quickly once the temperature becomes +80F. Sillage is what you would expect from a cologne. I love that this is so zingy, clean and elegant, yet it’s not a barbershop cologne. Truly unisex and so easy to wear. Brings back memories of the old Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne, but I love this so much more. It’s more crisp and modern. It has patchouli in the base rather than woods, but the notes are nearly identical. And miraculously it’s more affordable! I reached for it almost daily and ran out of my sample, so I purchased a small bottle. It was wonderful in winter and it’s working perfectly for spring as well! I feel like it’s a lemony variation of my favorite of the line—the limey Paris-Deauville. Edit: Huge mistake, not buying the larger bottle!

If I were to choose a lemon zest scent to accompany me through the next few years it would be this, or Allure Homme Sport Cologne. AHSC seems to exude 90s spirit and embodies the perfect European man. Biarritz goes a bit more to the fields of any given land. Summer time, but it's not too hot and it's not too cold. I feel as though this is a coastal town surrounded by fields of flowers and grass. It goes a bit powdery, too, which is very lovely. This definitely seems more Olivier than Venise, but both seem to portray his view of Chanel's youth and history quite well. I don't think this is a bad thing, despite the puzzlement I felt from Gabrielle (cold, but not in the typical Chanel way). I think this is a glorious take on the traditional EdC, and will perhaps make it's way onto my 'want' list.

Truly unisex, burst of uplifting citrus fruits, airy vibe. It’s simply beautiful in a sense that it is simple yet gorgeous! Love at first sniff. I got a sample at Nordstrom in September while buying another perfume. Well I wanted it for all this time until I finally got a full bottle today. I can wear this year round. I have a big bottle 4.2oz and I know I will go through it. This is the only Chanel perfume that I can wear. I am usually not a fan of anything Chanel, especially all the popular perfumes on the market, all those Chanel classics (Coco, Mademoiselle, Allure, N5, N19, etc) - just a big no for me. But this is something else!

Beautiful from the opening to the dry down. The only patchouli scent I’ve ever worn. Definitely a cologne, so do not expect much on longevity and sillage. Boy, does it smell expensive! Also the only pricey cologne I repurchased in the past couple of years. If you like this one, try Aura by Brazilian house Phebo, more longevity and sillage for a fraction of the price. Not a dupe though, bear that in mind. Biarritz is probably the simplest and most minimal scent I’ve ever worn, one of the chicest too. On the second repurchase I got the lotion and the shower gel to make it last longer.

After multiple wearings and comparisons with similar scents, I can honestly say the nose is absolutely beautiful! My initial impression was that it was very pleasant but didn't wow me. So I recommend giving this multiple wearings. Chanel Biarritz is one of, it not the best lemon based scents ever! Best worn on a warm and sunny day. The wind picks it up and gives a lovely sillage. One big negative is that it does not last! Barely lasts two hours. But if you like spraying multiple times during the day, I guess its a good thing.

I rarely buy perfumes after first smell, but it was a scent I was looking for. I have similar Guerlain Mandarine and Basil and others. This Chanel is more creamy and sweet in comparison to bitter neroli based frags. It evokes feelings of freshness, tenderness and luxury. I bought it in Vienna as it is not available in Czech shops, so another bonus, not many people smell like this. The only disadvantage is sillage and longevity, but all these fresh scents have longevity issues. Bottle is 125ml so you could be generous.

Chanel Paris-Biarritz (2018) - Italian Sunshine - #olivierpolge gets inspired from #cocochanel ‘s starting journey opening her first shop near the Basque coast. I get accords uncommon from a french house. I get an Italian opening of Tangerines, Oranges, Bergamot, and Neroli. At its heart, though fleeting, would be a beautiful Lily of the valley accord connoting Coco’s innocence with White Musks to help round it out. A refreshing fragrance for a warm and humid day.

Very upscale citrus scent. Best quality citrus fragrance. Ideal for professional impression no matter what the season. If you really want to leave the best impression that you are a person who really only consumes the highest quality, then this fragrance is for you. Yes, it's light - I feel it for 3 hours max. It won't bother anyone because of that, but it signalises to be creme de la creme without having to prove anything.

This smells like a slightly more feminine version of Dior Homme Cologne. Right off the top, you get that intense beautiful citrus. It would be perfect for a warm summer day as it smells very fresh and light. The base of musk carries the fragrance though. It doesn't last long at all and doesn't project heavily. I guess it's exactly what you should expect from a fragrance that is so citrus-forward. Smells fantastic!

More blah, boring, uninspiring, weak fragrance. I don't get this collection at all, but also find the rest of the new perfumes by Chanel to be boring. The design of the bottles of the main collection, which all look exactly the same, just hurts them. A bit like what Dior has done with its line of boring over-expensive fragrances.

This does remind me of Chance eau Fraiche, but I like Chance eau F much better because of the woody notes. This is very fresh citrus and perfect for hot summer days. It lasts longer when sprayed in hair and on clothes (as usual).

A fresh marine orange scent. A little of bitter greens, a little bit of white floralcy, but primarily smells like juicy oranges dashed with sea salt on my skin. Soft projection for ~2hr, longevity 6-8hr.

I love this fragrance it is so light and enchanting. One whiff and it catapults me back to the Basque coast and Biarritz. It is the perfect summer daytime fragrance - light, crisp, clean, and refreshing.

2 $ deo usually last longer . you got to re -spray it like refreshing body mist every 40 min or so. But it's super fresh and pleasant ,so I don't regret blind buy .One of my favorite summer fragrances

Whilst I love this fragrance as a pick me up or after bath/shower delight, it reminds me of Gabrielle so much, that you don't need both.

This is an excellent cologne style perfume that is great for hot days. It would compliment a man very well.

Yes, there are many like it, but this one is the best.

Paris-Biarritz is a simple, refreshing citrus scent, nice for hot weather, but nothing groundbreaking. It is pleasant, clean and soapy - light and lasting for just a little while. PB opens with bright, juicy orange notes, slightly sweet and wonderfully fresh. A hint of lemon adds tartness. Some neroli emerges as it develops, adding a light floral edge to the citrus accord. There is a hint of green freshness, but I don't get much patchouli. It becomes slightly musky before fading to a close. Sillage is briefly moderate after spraying, but ultimately intimate, and longevity is moderate, lasting for about four hours on my skin, less in midday heat. It is feminine-leaning in my opinion, but unisex depending on personal taste. Makes for a nice gift for people who don't like strong perfume, being Chanel, but is ultimately overpriced for what it is. Fresh citrus scents are usually just as nice when on the cheap. Still, perfectly pleasant and a lovely option in the heat. Refreshing luxury. 3/5.

This was my first Chanel fragrance so I feel like I should make this my first review here! It's very easy to like, the scent is not unique but it's a great fragrance to just spray all over yourself during summer. Very fresh and citrusy. It got that true lemon scent which I do like a lot. I like to wear this when I work during the summer time since unfortunately the lasting power is weak. That's a minus for me yet it's a great not-in-your-face type of scent that works perfectly for work during the summer. I was working in the reception at a hotel last summer and this was such an inoffensive scent to wear around hotel guest in hot weather. I probably wouldn't re-purchase this cause it lasts max 1h on me. I got a 50ml bottle and used half in a span of 2 months because of the lasting power. Open to try the rest of the les eaux scents.

Biaritz reminds me of a horrifying experience from my 20s. To pay for college I waitressed at a Mexican restaurant where the most popular item was a Grande margarita. One night, 4 attractive young men were assigned to my section. They all ordered Grande margaritas on the rocks. OK in my defense, these drinks are heavy. In order to balance my tray I brought it closer to my chest. As I was serving the drinks one of the men said with an embarrassed smile, 'Excuse me, Miss...' I got all excited thinking we were going to flirt. 'Yes?' I said with an equally coy smile. 'Your left breast has tipped into my drink' Looking down, I saw that indeed my ample left tittie had flopped into the drink I was about to set before him. I spent the rest of the night smelling like lime and citrus margarita. Biaritz is a nope.

Throw citruses in anything and like the fool I am, I will fall in love. Yet, I highly do NOT recommend buying a full bottle of this. It is very overpriced for the performance and the experience it provides. It opens with very astringent citrus peels. I smell mainly petitgrain with tangerines and bergamot. Bitter neroli comes shortly after with the cleanliness of the lily of the valley. I do not smell much of a dry down, as it feels more like an EDC. While I love it cuz I love my citruses. I believe there are way many better alternatives, whether cheaper, better performing, or more unique. One that comes to mind now is Loewe Agua Miami (more astringent and bitter). Even from this line, I prefer Deauville and Riviera way more.

Not as heavenly as Paris-Deauville, but still very delightful and refreshing. This is a true eau de cologne in that it does not last long but can be applied all day in hot weather to cool you down--though for that purpose it may be expensive, although the sillage here is considerable (and the price is not unreasonable given this comes in a 125 ml. bottle). It's very much dominated by the top notes of almost every citrus fruit you can think of, and dries down to a nice muskiness. I'd love a bottle of this, but as far as citrus eaux de cologne go, I did not have to buy a bottle of it immediately after trying it as I did with Eau de Guerlain (which, by the way, is considerably cheaper).

A short-lived, watery citrus for summer days designed to be applied and then topped-up as needed. This has a beautiful and very light neroli and lemon opening, refreshingly aquatic with a smidgen of green mandarin and a tiny lily-of-the-valley (something I would normally avoid like the plague) and not much more. Sparkling like sunlight on the surf. My favourite part is the note of sea-salt on skin, as though you'd spent the morning swimming in the ocean. I don't get much "Paris" in this scent, it's all "Biarritz", but it definitely meets the brief.

I had higher expectations for this, because it's Chanel after all. It's a lovely scent but nothing to write home about. Opens with a pang of citrus, which reminds me a bit of Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte, but not as crisp. Then, for about an hour I get green notes followed by sweet aquatic scent. I don't get even a tiny bit of Lily of the valley or Patchouli. 3-4 hours later it's a tangerine and neroli skin scent. I would have to bathe in this as it just seems to disappear from my skin.

The fragrance is very nice but it smells just like Chanel Eau De Cologne to me. I like Chanel Eau De Cologne very much but I don’t understand why Chanel would create another fragrance that smells just like something that they already have. I’m wearing it right now and it seems to last a long time but I had a different idea in my mind of what I thought it would smell like. I don’t dislike it, but I didn’t swoon when I put it on.

It is fresh, unisex, and a crowd-pleaser. It doesn't have any uniqueness, so there is nothing to hate about it either, other than its pathetic longevity. As a patchouli hater, I don't pick up any patchouli scent from this one. The citrusy scent is more on the tangerine side, sweet and gentle, not tart or bitter. A great safe bet for hot summer weather if you carry it in your handbag and reapply it every 2-3 hours.

Golly, if you like citrus, they put ALL the citrus notes in this one. Feels masculine in the opening, possibly because of the green notes, or the overabundance of citrus. I like this fragrance, and I would love to smell it on other people, but it's too sharp for me to want to own a full bottle. This is a very sharp green citrus. Similar to Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense, but the dry down in this is prettier.

Bright refreshing high quality classic neroli cologne. Reminds me of Chanel's own Eau de Cologne and TF Neroli Portofino. Small hints of sweetness. Not particularly unique...could be any number of refreshing neroli and bergamot colognes but high quality as per Chanel. Like to a Love. Might not buy full bottle as there are many alternatives, but it's great if you own it. Scent: 7.5 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 6

This is a beautiful scent. The dry down reminds me of lemon iced tea. In a good way. Black tea isn't listed in the notes but it's quite strong to me. It also reminds me of The Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit range. It's beautiful, but it's also not unique or special compared to more affordable citrus perfumes. The longevity and sillage are also quite poor so it would be more of an intimate scent.

This is one of very few citrus-dominant scents that I can wear. Citrusnotes often makes me sneeze and very, very often citrusnotes turn male'ish on my skin, but not this one. Its a chic everyday citrus/green note with som shy flowernotes in it. Chic, classy & beautiful. I think summer is the best season to wear it. I don't see this one as unisex - very female scent in my opinion

Nothing compares to an early morning spent at the seaside, especially if you ́re into observing the sea and its waves. Paris - Biarritz evokes this kind of experience - it ́s like vivid, bright & clear waves of fresh cologne, you can enjoy a refreshing blend of grapefruit and mandarine juice, smooth lily of the valley & white musk. Classic yet modern.

Smells good -- airy citric-green freshness -- but is so short-lived on my hand. On shirt it stays longer, perhaps an hour or a bit more. So it's more like an EDC. Cristalle Eau Verte is much better in this regard although that too is a bit weak and short but better in every way: lasts longer and also smells stronger and better (greener).

My least favorite from that line, but still a good fragrance. Fresh, citrusy, even a little bit bitter. Slightly floral and very light in general. It is good, but not that outstanding and elegant smelling as the other two. More suitable for spring, so maybe I'm just not drawn to it right now. Still, worth a try in my opinion.

It has an incredibly intense musky scent. The blend of citrus and musk creates a trustworthy, pleasant fragrance. Honestly, I don’t understand why everyone complains about the longevity of this perfume. It clearly uses expensive musk, like Muscenone, in the right way, and finishes with a long-lasting, pleasant sillage.

I truly love this fresh summery scent. Zesty, perky and joyful. How I wish it lasted longer!!!! Reapplication is a must but the problem then arises regarding the cost of regular resprays. I cant see my perfume collection being without this enjoyable citrus scent, but its longevity is a disappointment.

Immediately reminded me -Versace Versence - O de Hadrien Goutal - Saharienne YSL Fresh, citrusy, light, unisex. Summer fragrance, staying power is weak. It is very well made, I like it, but I have frags listed above and don't need it. Deville is the best from this trio.

Wearing this now in the high heat of manila summer during quarantine time. It’s a little temporary escape from the reality of today. Like all things, everything beautiful isnt permanent and long lasting. Enjoy and bask in this temporary luxurious moment.

Eau de cologne type vibes, citrus, mild neroli backdrop and not much of a base to speak of. Lovely smell and if you love it good look to you. I was left a little cold, maybe if I wore it properly I'd change my mind but I don't think so.

Received a sample of this juice from a recent purchase and do enjoy it. However, it almost seems like a replica of Allure Sport Cologne which I love. Plus, Allure Sport Cologne has better lasting power. Both are lovely scents. Cheers!

The notes were promising refreshment, but on my skin this smells more like a well-behaved citrus lotion for mature women. It's nice, but more in a way your friendly aunt would be, than in a spring day on the beach kind of way.

Light and fresh citrus scent. Suitable for layering with other perfumes. Tried layering with Vanila & Tongka from Mith (Thai perfume) and it turned out very beautiful and last very longer.

Pleasant unisex scent, very citrusy and Neroli. But, as others have mentioned, is ephemeral. It doesn't last long. It makes a great first impression though.

Unisex Citrus for warmer days or a layering top for lift. Its been done before, but the Chanel touch is here . Longevity 2-4 hrs

Chanel Biarritz is mostly bergamot and light musk. Soapy, clean, heady. Reminds me of Le Labo Bergamote 22.
