Paris – Venise

Fresh Oriental - that best describes Chanel Paris-Venise in my opinion. You can try to describe it, I'm sure, in many different ways - everyone has their own words to say and their very own perception of each fragrance.Fresh Oriental I think was maybe even AI generated general description of Paris-Venise but it stock with me. This perfume is just class in my opinion. Oh boy, it just does smell oh-so-good. Venise - to me anything Venetian brings something sweet and decadent to mind. Paris-Venise is perhaps sweetish but in a smooth way. So smooth. Paris-Venise is NOT a gourmand fragrance per se, oh no. Not at all. Not one bit. But wearing it feels like You had just eaten a coffee-ice cream dessert at a Venetian cafe and have that smooth satisfactory aftertaste. Paris-Venise is as far away removed from anything "coffee" as it can get but I'm talking about the power of our senses right now. Paris-Venise opens with a bright neroli but it is not screechy - absolutely nothing screechy in its composition. That's the "fresh" side of it. Neroli never gets sour but only deepened by the iris and Tonka bean. It also has powdery and ambery shadows of benzoin and the most purest of vanilla (noone but Chanel has the highest quality vanilla in fragrances in my opinion). Paris-Venise likewise OG Coco Mademoiselle can be described as fresh Oriental but they are much different fragrances however I can see if someone likes one of those two - they can be easily drawn to the other. They are two different perfumes with one thing in common - ambery but FRESH. Yes, only Chanel could ever pull this off. One main difference between Coco Mademoiselle and Paris-Venise is that the latter has absolutely no rose as opposed to the former. So if You want this ambery and fresh oriental - which You know will have to absolutely contain orange or neroli, just must contain it - but You want it to have the iris depth and not a trace of rose in it's notes - Paris Venise is a must. The iris (or Orris root) is what is responsible for the powder in this. I love powder in perfume - when someone describes as fragrance as having too much of a baby powder effect - it is an actual bait for me. Paris-Venise doesn't necessarily smell like baby wipes straight up but it still a very delicate yet very much there powdery effect. Paris-Venise - I can't imagine anyone not liking it. It's bright - but not screechy like at all. That's the magic. Paris-Venise evokes pastel colors of powdery orange or peachy color. Again without screechiness - very pastel in composition. It's so beautiful. It sits right next to #22 extrait as one of my all time favorites - that's how GOOD it is. It also smells like it has plenty of Chanelade class in it. Very much. I absolutely love it. Paris-Venise is what stopped me from loving Comete. Paris-Venise is my Comete in my collection. You know when You buy the (very covered by me - because of the size of the bottles) Les Exclusifs set of 5 - it has things like Gardenia and Coromandel in it. Two different ends of the spectrum in perfumes. But somewhere in the middle You will find Comete. That completes the variety of the set. Well Paris-Venise is that middle ground for me in my Chanel collection. Something between light and dark. Oh my goodness I am even quoting what the Chanel website states about Paris-Venise - they said it contrasts - shadow and light. I did that unintentionally - just quoted the maker of this fragrance. That perfect middle ground in my own perfume collection. That beautiful pastel with depth. I love it for life. I have a huge bottle of it - now less than half full - and the smaller one on the way (I LOVE smaller bottles of perfumes - always have).

A belated review. I am not one usually crazy about powdery scents, but this is one gorgeous fragrance. I think this one appeals to me because it's a multifaceted, complex powder, with citrus airy freshness (the petitgrain is slightly green) combined with floral-tonka musk and ambery facets. I do not know why "amber" isn't listed on Fragrantica pyramid, because it is unmistakeably there to create depth--I hate wispy vanilla-musk drydowns because they smell cheap and the drydown here is not cheap. Maybe the benzoin represents the amber here. My batch code is 3601 = December 2018, close to launch but likely not launch batch (at launch these Eaux first came out only in 125ml but I far prefer the 50ml size which I exchanged it for.) It is not a strong scent; I have to put my nose right up to my clothes to detect it. My preferred use for it is to wear it on my lounge clothes/pajamas when the mood strikes. If you have a partner who is particularly sensitive to fragrances, too, then this may be suitable as it's both snuggly and snugglable. :) This one stands out because it is one of Chanel's "happiest" smelling fragrances to me...while others are sometimes described as aloof, cold, "serious", "sexy", etc. Chance Eau Tendre is happy and innocent but a little too naive for me. Paris-Venise strikes me more for those who have traveled (through life, or around the world, or both) but still have a sense of innocence...where experience hasn't worn them down, but rather, they continue to be effervescent. We don't have to be this way all the time, but I hope we all still have moments like that. And for me, those moments are what this scent evokes.

It does justice to the effortless sophisticated weightless improbable essential elegance of Venice. Without the tourists, including me. As though I could be in that most wonderful and precious of cities without the tourists. Like the story for this fragrance I went to Venice after a loss and this fragrance reminds me of the stirring reawakenings of wonder I felt at that time, with the particular inspirations of beautiful Venice. I kind of get the cake thing, but I didn't notice it until I really made an effort, the orange seems so softly handled here in amongst the flowers. Someone said inedible cake. This doesn't make me think of eating. I usually can't stand orange because it smells so juicy and foodlike, it doesn't smell like that here at all. Oranges but without their foodness. I don't agree that this fragrance is feminine. I find it unisex or asexual. It's not about projecting any sexuality towards others. It's about having an abstract experience of joy and beauty. It's not an invitation to sexuality. I think men feel more inclined to project their sexuality because something about masculinity is competitive, both in personal experience and in perception of others. A man can enjoy wearing this if he is very confident in being nonsexual, which is not the same thing as emasculated, but may feel like it (and that's completely OK). It is exquisitely soft and ephemeral. We must always wish for more of Venice.

Update after wearing for two weeks: I've found that the cotton ball trick (a few sprays on a cotton ball tucked into my bra) works better and is longer-lasting than on my cold, dry skin! Now I'm getting more whiffs of it every time I move, and I love it more than ever! I love the citrusy top notes I get right after spraying. Although they are ethereal and somewhat fleeting, they impart brightness and warmth to the fragrance. After they fade, I get powdery iris; rich benzoin; slightly sweet, creamy white florals and tonka; and a "perfumey" vanilla rather than a "dessert" vanilla. l've only owned one other Chanel perfume, No 5 Eau Premiere, and this gives me a similar rich, golden, and classy vibe like that one did. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. If Chanel ever releases Paris - Venise in an EDP strength I'll buy 4 bottles! It's the perfect blend - not too citrusy, not too sweet, not too powdery, etc. I'm one of those people that always seems to feel cold, so on my dry skin this sits close and has very little projection. An hour after spraying I need to press my nose up against my wrist to smell it, but it lasts as a skin scent for a couple hours like that. I use several sprays when I wear this, and take a decant with me for reapplying. It's beautiful, but light. But beauuuuuuutifulllllll! Now I'm off to buy the matching body lotion, hopefully layering will help it last longer.

I'm in serious doubt about this one. Not because it may be to feminine. And definitely not because it is supposed to be weak or moderate at best in terms of performance. I have tested this once. On paper and skin. Went back and got a sample. But it is Winter now so I don't want to waste the sample in this periode of the year. Last week though I decided to spray 1 spray on the inner side of my arm, while wearing other heavy winter fragrance on the outside of my arm close to my back hand. I believe it was Aqua di Parma Colonia Leather I was wearing. Believe it or not, I was aware of Paris-Venice the rest of the day until I took a shower after dinner. The longevity is real good. On paper it will last for at least 2 weeks. On skin 10-12 hours. Projection is really above average even compared to heavy winter frags. So why do I doubt? First because my wife says it is a feminine scent. Second, because 50 ML costs 82€ (is quite expensive) but the 125 ML only 116 € ( not so much) I will wait for Spring and than I will decide. In the meanwhile I have it for almost 2 months now. The 125 ML. I really love it. Really great performance on me. However, the most surprising thing about this fragrance is that my wife also likes it a lot on her. So actually we will share it. No problem for me, since I am also allowed to use her Prada Infusion D'Iris, which is brighter than my Iris Cedre.

Paris-Venise could also be thought of as a pared-down variant of Misia EdT/EdP, with the leather accord removed and Coco Mademoiselle Intense's vanilla-amber base added (omitting the patchouli). It is a light version of a rich scent, containing Chanel's luxurious powdery signature. In summary: spicy citrus + powder + vanilla/amber. Longevity is surprisingly pretty decent: 2 sprays on my shirt will last 10-12 hours, but projection/sillage is very very soft. Frankly, I think this is one of Olivier Polge's best works yet. I did not think I was a powder fan AT ALL and the middle phase of Paris-Venise is indeed quite powdery, so I am careful not to overspray. But the opening sparkly top is very uplifting, and the far drydown is so gorgeous--I marvel at how the ambery vanilla base retains an airiness...like a powder mist that is suspended from my clothing, not packed down. And my nose keeps zooming in on the labdanum. I feel clean & chic, yet snuggly...you could use it for work, or if you're like me, for restorative days off pampering myself, meditative tidying-up: beautifying myself and my space in my loungewear. It is easily layerable with other fragrances as well. This is not revolutionary, and I think its low sillage means that it won't make much of an impression on strangers. But for the overall balance of all accords and the effect, it's a 10/10 from me.

Just got and tried on my new bottle of Paris-Venise. I made a terrible mistake - I should have purchased the largest bottle and all the supporting products. This is going to easily be my most reached for scent in the summer or 2021. I don't know or care so much about longevity yet, but I don't care - it's an Eau, so my expectations aren't high to begin with. What I do know is I will be requesting the body lotion, shower gel, and perhaps a larger bottle for my bday in a few days. I am head over heels! Original "review": The most impulsive blind buy I have ever made. Not a review yet, as I just pulled the trigger, but a preview full of anticipation. I found myself (okay, deliberately went to) the Chanel web site, considering adding a new Les Exclusif to my collection. I never had much interest in the Les Eaux line - Chanel's longevity and projection have suffered so much since IFRA took an ax to the industry - but I was reading the descriptions and cross referencing them with Fragrantica when I saw it - a big old picture of an iris as the dominant note with a nearly same amount of neroli and vanilla - and I was consumed with the absolute need to own it. I almost purchased the body lotion as well, but thought it prudent in the midst of my impestuousness to at least wait and see if I love it as much as I think I will. Wish me luck - full review to follow!

Named after my favorite city on the planet, the name seems very fitting! Smells like a lighter, fresher mix of N.5 and Eau Premiere. There is something mysterious in it, something balsamic and creamy, something exotic. It reminds me of looking in the shops and being taken by all of the magnificent venetian masks and colorful glass objects from Murano. I blind bought 3 of these Eaux at the same time, and I love all of them. Chanel has really let me down in the past few years with some terrible reformulations, but then they come out with these gems, and they are just impeccable! Each one is different, each one is stunning. And the fact that they are a lighter concentration makes every one of them wearable daily. In a way, it’s incredibly Chanel-esque. After all, she is the one who made women fashionable in pants, created haute couture out of jersey fabric, and made black the most fashionable color of all-time. So rather than dabbing on some extravagant fine perfume, each fragrance in this series is an accessible, casual masterpiece (kind of an oxymoron). If that makes any sense. Finally it seems like Chanel is headed in a better direction.

Taken from my old account The saying that I feel best suits this scent is "Money talks ,wealth whispers" It is a really stunning perfume and it's become one of my favourites. It is my everyday perfume and I wish I hadn't fallen for it because of how expensive it is. Luckily I will have a while with this beauty as I've been fortunate enough to win a 125ml bottle on ebay for £35!!! so I'm very happy. I even spray it and wear it to bed...HELP! I agree with the reviewer who said if they do this in an EDP they'd purchase 4 bottles, yep you and me both. Although I'd have to hope someone put one on EBAY :P I will be real the projection isn't there and the lasting power isn't the best so I would never pay full price for this and I don't recommend others to pay full retail . But I'm in love and I will be searching the auction for another bottle when mine runs out, I find myself craving this scent as it's beautiful without trying hard, an effortless natural beauty. I'm strongly considering the body lotion aswell. For me Chanel perfumes are one of the great perfume houses and as an owner of 5 Chanel scents ,they got a perm buyer in me.

Ooooh this one’s nice. It’s a hazy/fuzzy, soft orange blossom, vanilla and musk scent. I get some of the pepper in the opening. It’s quite feminine to me, Chanel DNA is there, but the volume’s low which is just how I like. I don’t really notice the iris or violet/orris on my skin, but I definitely smell them in the air after I’ve sprayed. Very pleasing scent, but being an EDT Venise doesn’t have tons of silage or longevity; however my inner elbow sprays are still going strong after 5.5 hours (I’m catching whiffs of the Tonka here too). I’d say this is a very safe office or interview scent for summer, as it’s light, classy and very inoffensive. Venise would probably get lost on your skin in the winter though. A FB purchase was a no brainer, as I got it for half the retail price; however the rrp isn’t too bad either (£99). With 125ml to get through you can afford to spray liberally, the scent is so light and airy that I don’t think it’s possible to overspray (I did 8 sprays today). Definitely worth testing if you’re interested by the notes of this one.

This is such a fantastic fragrance- I love this one! This one transitions quite a few times between the initial spray and the dry down, so you really have to wear it from start to finish to get a good idea of this scent. This starts out on me with a blast of citrus, but pretty quickly it starts to sweeten up and develop into a mass appealing style of fragrance. Honestly, at this point in it's development it reminds me of a watered down version of La Vie Est Belle without the heavier gourmand aspects. As it wears something slightly salty/mineral starts to come through. A friend of mine told me she got calone (a molecule I don't like). I don't get calone, but I do get something salty or aquatic-like. The petitgrain and neroli start to come out, and this starts to smell like a sun cream. As it goes into the far dry down the ylang-ylang becomes more apparent and this smells like beautiful, powdery, slightly tropical and solar sun cream. This lasts on me for about 5 hours, but sits rather close to the skin; I don't mind, I'll just apply it liberally!

Oh, I love this... the opening smells very simular to Dior Absolutely Blooming with that lovely pink pepper. There are a lot of smells in here that I am not familiar with, but I sure want to be! When this settles, I can smell the lemony neroli, the beautiful iris, and a hint of ylang ylang. It's so beautiful, citrusy, and feminine. I don't remember why, but I expected to like this the least out of the four Chanel Paris EDT testers I purchased, but I can't imagine any of them being better than this beauty. That slight powdery note you get from iris is just so lovely, the pink pepper makes it smell classy, and the neroli gives it a freshness. The dry down is a pretty musky violet powder, with a sweetness from the vanilla. I don't really get the tonka bean, but again there are notes in here I am not familiar with. I find the projection good. I have this beautiful scent aura around me. I feel like I've been glamored. This is a must own for me! Ugh. Another expensive fragrance purchase...

My absolute most favorite perfume. I discovered it this year and ever since just can't stop using it. A rare case when the scent is fresh yet feminine, unlike some other "fresh" Chanel perfumes (e.g. Chance eau fraishe) that smell more like strong and sweet cologne. Paris-Venice, on the contrary, is incredibly complex yet light and versatile. It's first citrusy floral note doesn't last long and quickly turns into this extremely gentle powdery scent, I associate it with expensive hand lotion or sunscreen that's barely-there and not too sweet. It is constantly evolving on skin and is one of the most youthful Chanel fragrances. The only problem I have with it is its longevity: it barely stays on for maybe 20-30 minutes, after that you have to reapply a whole lot to feel anything at all (unlike so many other Chanel fragrances). I really wish they issued an eau de parfum with this scent. I even wonder whether I got a fake one, but I bought it from Nordstrom, so I doubt it.

I've never been an oversprayer and sometimes it takes me years to finish off a large bottle, regardless of how much I enjoy a certain scent. Paris-Venice is one of my firm favourites; I've had it for a few years now, and the scent has macerated, becoming stronger and sweeter in the process. Here's how it develops after sitting in a bottle for a while: it becomes less citric, more powdery and much sweeter. If I should compare it to a well-known classic, it would be D&G Light Blue, with the difference that Paris-Venice is much classier and more polished - I mean, it's a Chanel, their scents are never kitschy; so, instead of a sugared lemonade, the powdery-vanillic elements prevail. I'm also happy to report that its silage and longevity vastly improved over time. While in the past it used to last 3-4 hours, now I get 6-7 hours easily. Despite its increased silage, it is still a very pleasant and unobtrusive scent and a true compliment-getter.

Demure, soft and powdery florals tinged with melancholy. The citrus is forthcoming upon first impressions, but it fades away soon to reveal a soft iris and neroli, slightly vanilla aura. The powderiness is apparent throughout and elevates an otherwise plain scent. I'm not a fan of tonka, but in here it acts like a vintage filter to give the scent its dustiness and melancholy. It actually reminds me of some body lotions or face creams, especially Philosophy's Renewed Hope in a Jar. I've never understood Coco Mademoiselle or a lot of other Chanel fragrances, but this one is simple enough to love. Also, can we talk about the atomizer?? It's the best one I've ever sprayed. The mist is fine and controlled, and there's the most delightful chime/jingle when you press on it. This is luxury, inside with the juice and outside with the bottle. This is a scent for when you feel overwhelmed with everything in the world, and you just want to come home.

Bottled chic! Very worth it if you want a Chanel that is not as recognizable as the ones you can buy from many retailers not directly from a Chanel boutique. It has Chanel DNA and class and is a perfect everyday companion for a whole year. It is musky-powdery enough to be good for evenings too. It is predominantly floral, the powdery notes are far in the base. Iris dominates on me. It has fresh facets highlighted by lemon, bergamot, orange and petitgrain. The citrus notes are subtle but tangible. The composition has a lot of splendor and depth. It is light and feminine but you feel it around. The powder is such a lovely type. And it has violet facets. It reminds me of Chance Eau Tendre in style but less girly. As if Chanel Comete and Chance Eau Tendre were merged into one creation. In the drydown I feel orris and benzoin, and still the citrus - it feels very lady-like and light. I am very satisfied with this beauty.

Beautiful !! Feminine, gentle, delicate, and quiet. Clean neroli, soft powdery purple flowers, appropriately-sweet and warm vanilla/tonka beans/musk, all mesh together to create a beautiful pillowy scent. Paints the picture of a woman who just smells good, you don’t know if it’s her perfume, soap, or body cream, but she smells effortlessly and naturally good. I know many people are scared of Chanel fragrances smelling too mature, but this one does not. (Spraying ligthly, a couple of sprays): Longevity is 4-5 hours on my skin, on clothes it’s longer (sprayed my shirt 16 hours ago and I can still smell it), sillage is intimate but not bad/undetectable. if you always need all your fragrances to be amazing performers, this may let you down. I think the performance matches the vibe or aura of the fragrance and I love it as a non-offensive pretty scent

This is a light, enchanting spring-summery concoction. Perhaps my favorite in the Les Eaux collection. Wearing it now (and have tested it a half a dozen or so times!) so here we go... It opens with an almost creamsicle-like, feathery soft orange citrus with a vanilla-tinged light musk. Powdery iris and a tame neroli (no bite, no sharp green IMO) give an airy floral accord. The color of the fragrance itself is exactly the color I see when I envision this scent: a translucent pastel orange. So much levity, and freshness without being too zingy with citrus. For me it has light to moderate longevity, though I don't expect any of the Les Eaux to be powerhouse beastmode perfumes. This is probably next on my to-buy list! It's an excellent vacation mode fragrance and I imagine would be a great everyday daytime scent for warmer months, even the office.

This is lovely, to me it's like an expensive holiday by water, not so much the sea as perhaps a boating holiday or by lakes? There's something of suncream and a fresh water note. Creamy/lotion with something like gardenia and iris and a fresh watery flowery note. Watery fresh notes usually make me headachy and ill, this is more natural, and completely fine. Sillage is great, but longevity a little short. There's a little left after a couple of hours. Edited to add, it changes based on temperature and humidity. On a hot, humid summer's day, the vanilla-y amber in the drydown becomes much more prominent, and it makes the whole thing last much longer. Gorgeous. My first signiature scent 🤗 After trialing a sample for several days, I've had to buy a bottle. This is just gorgeous. It even works over coconut sun cream! .

This is such a beautiful, elegant feminine fragrance! The blending of the florals and citruses are seriously so seamless. I can't stop sniffing myself it's just so beautiful! This is very uplifting and bright but at the same time there's that comforting slightly powdery vanilla musky base to round it all out. This profile reminds me a bit of Xerjoff Dama Bianca (which I really love), but this is a sparkly version! The presence of the violet, iris, and orris notes makes my heart sing! The Chanel house has definitely sealed my respect after this beauty, which followed after me getting a sniff of Gabrielle, another gorgeous blend of florals and exuding femininity. Despite this being an EDT, I personally find this pleasantly strong. I will gladly add this to my collection and would use this year round, day or night.

Paris-Venise just smells of quality, pure clean luxury and romance. This toilette spray/body lotion duo is the perfect way to spoil yourself after a tiring day. A hot bath, the smooth lotion scenting your skin and the spray to intensify. From the perfect spray mist on the perfume bottle , to the way the lid top slides to one side on the lotion; it all contributes to the pleasure of using Chanel. Everything feels soft and sensual about this fragrance. A creamy citrus start, to a mellow neroli laced with a violet/iris background and then finally a subtle vanilla amber scented baby powder dry down. It only last a few hours before becoming a sweet skin scent, but for that short time, I am completely content. Thank you Olivier Polge this beautiful composition. Paris-Venise will always be in my collection.

This is the kind of gift I'd imagine being given to me by an invisible, kindly-disposed deity; a token of affection from up high. It's perfect in every way except longevity, which is fleeting; about 2 hours before it vanishes entirely. But who cares? So many pleasures are fleeting... the taste of ripe fruit, or a beam of light on a just-opened flower or a kiss or smile. True, we don't pay for all our pleasures, but in terms of art, this is on the affordable end of the spectrum of delights. Essentially an Iris-laden citrus, Paris-Venice is a peppery, powdery, plush, harmonious, luxuriously fresh, Oriental-style beauty. A mist of this is a thing of joy and one of the most delicately beautiful perfumes Chanel have created. Distillation: a witch's love charm or a deity's token the gift of beauty

This is the perfect work fragrance. It doesn't evoke Venice for me (not sure what a fragrance of Venice might smell like-- maybe the sea?), but it does smell like a riff on N.5, but greatly softened with citrus in the opening and a clean softness at the end. I can't imagine anyone not liking it-- it has that Chanel high-quality soapiness, smells undeniably good from start to finish, and does not try too hard. I don't think it is particularly sexy, except in that way that things that are really well done and put together are sexy. I think the bottle is really perfect-- it feels good in the hand and it looks terrific. It also captures the no-nonsense quality of the perfume. Not bossy, not screechy, but not meek. I really like it and I wear it most days.

This is quintessential Chanel. It has that signature heart of any Chanel fragrance. It's citrusy and then the perfect floral bouquet blooms and then it dries down to be ever so slightly powdery, thanks to the iris. It's perfection! I can't get enough of this scent! Alas, I literally cannot get enough of it because I have to respray every hour to just be able to detect the faintest of skin scents. Good thing I bought the 4.2 oz. bottle. I even bought the Paris - Venise lotion thinking that would make it last longer and project a little more. Nope. It's so lovely and so Chanel, but if you are expecting any projection at all, pass on this one. I bought a travel spray at MicroPerfumes that I'll keep with me so I can respray throughout the day.

Appropriately named for Venice...has the sparkling Chanelade and a smoooth iris but what makes it different than the other Les Eaux are hints of exotic spice that evokes the exotic other worldliness of Venice. Thoroughly sophisticated and European but of somebody who has seen the world and has a cosmopolitan air. Think it might be my favorite of the Les Eaux, along with Deauville...maybe Riviera and Edimbourg as well. Ha, hard to choose. I wonder if it's too feminine tho...maybe I'm being influenced by others' impression. It's beautiful tho. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 8 / Longevity: 6 UPDATE (8/5/2022): Really enjoying this. Definitely bottle worthy, tho it fades to a skin scent within 3 hours...adjusted Longevity score from 7 to 6.

My dear perfume addicted friends ... I see lots of comments about not lasting power of this cem 💎 The secret is ... to spray it on the clothing ... yes yes ! There is an unspoken rule in a perfume world : concentration Extract, Perfume and Edp we use on skin as it developes on a warm and natural texture stage by stage, slowly , leaving the biggest trail, silage and longevity ... but the Eau de Toilette version is created for textile .. it’s not lasting on skin because of its chemical characteristics. It was created not for skin. Edt has more alcohol in its formulation which is even not so useful , makes skin dry... As only you will try it on your clothes - the smell and life will be changed 😃😃🦋🦋 Good luck and be inspired 💋

Just like Venice was love at first sight for Gabrielle, Venise was love at first smell for me. Tbh I never really put any thought into this collection until recently when I randomly picked and sprayed myself with this perfume at a local department store. I was blown away! That evening I went to Chanel's website and bought it right away. This is marketed as oriental, but don't get this fool you. There is nothing spicy and oriental about it. To me it smells like a sophisticated version of Nivea cream/perfume. It's very creamy, airy, ethereal, powdery, soft. Like a silky scarf blowing in the wind. Sillage is moderate and it lasts for a good 6-7 hrs (on a hot humid day).

This is a beautiful, soft, classy scent. Orange blossom is the main note, coupled with iris and violet, with a soft citric-musky overlay; however everything is well blended and nothing sticks out too much. Paris-Venise is also very powdery and reminds me of scents such as Sylvaine Delacourte Dovana or Florentina, even Kenzo Flower - only it's much softer than Kenzo. On the other hand, Paris-Venise could have been launched as a flanker of Chance, because it reminds me of several fragrances from that line. My main issue with Paris-Venise is that it doesn’t last long and turns into a skin scent very quickly, but it's sold in 125ml bottles, so I can happily overspray.

This is my favorite out of the three from this line, with Biarritz being a close second. It really depends on what you want: Biarritz is zingy lemon + lily of the valley while Venise is pulpy orange + creamy white flowers. I love the drydown the most.. It's been a couple of hours now, and it smells like a softer version of N22 with more orange. Just lovely! Like an orange flavored cream cake. It is not really sweet at all though! Looking at the notes I was afraid it was going to smell like nothing but a weak, sickly sweet/watery vanilla, but thankfully it turns out this is not the case at all! Can't wait to wear this on warm, sunny days in the spring of 2019.

WOW! Let's face it, I'm not a fan Chanel perfumes. The only one I really love is No 5 L' Eau. However, I decided to try my luck when I ordered cosmetics from Chanel's website and I chose this as a free sample. This is absolutely beautiful. Soft, feminine and you can imagine go to luxury store and this is what the store smells like. It feels cosy and quietly sexy at the same time. It's stays my skin about 8 hours, clothes even longer. It suits every situation and every season, but I think it's feels best autumn and winter time. I have to order big bottle. I think this can become my new signature scent. Everything is in perfect balance.

This is a great office scent. You will get noticed and people wil compliment it but it remains a skinscent that raises up if you move around. The gentle citrus floral is creamy and has a bit sweet vanilla. I chose this among the first three from Chanel Paris Les Eaux line. Now I am testing the new Paris Riviera en Paris Venice side by side and I can say that I love both. Riviera is stronger, sweeter, warmer, has more citrus notes and reminds chance tendre. Venice is more mature, elegant and reminds Chance edp. I think between Paris Riviera and Paris Venice I would choose Paris Riviera. Anyway Riviera goes to the want list.

There's nothing sharp, perfumey or "stand out" about this perfume. Unfortunately I purchased a small bottle at the Duty Free before flying to Venice. And now it is my addiction. In the best possible way it smells like creamy, orangey sawdust. Femine and unlikely to offend anyone. The problem is, is that it must have that Chanel DNA and I want to bathe in it. Even with the body lotion, I have to spray this very liberally every couple of hours, so it's an expensive habit. I honestly wish I hadn't fallen in love with it because for the rest of days I will want there to be a version that lasts.

This smells like money. An effortless, classy, rich woman scent. Soft silage gives impression that this is not a perfume, just a scent from fancy Chanel soap out of the shower. I picture a 30+ age, rather high class woman being out and about, wearing casual but silk blouse and yoga pants, running errand after morning shower using fancy Chanel soap. Not putting on perfume, not trying to be sexy, not trying to hard, just smell clean, but she got money! Yep, Money! After trying so many perfumes, i still think Chanel is the house that do well at projecting wealth and class (within my budget).

Remember that clip where trump attended the NATO Headquarters and elbowed his way to the front of the line, shoving the prime minister of Montenegro as he did so? That is what Paris-Venice did to my queue of 'Perfumes I'll buy next'. This is just a beautiful fragrance and exactly what I'm looking for. I don't have much to add to the chorus of praise below but this: if you've been on the fence at trying this fragrance, be like trump and barrel your way forward. [Edit] I know this is listed as an Eau de Toilette but it wears like most modern Eau de Parfums. I get 5-6 hours from this

This is absolutely beautiful! Like others said...it smells like orange cake! Non edible cake. It reminds me of fall. I find it a perfect scent for September and October. It's airy, brisk, smells like the color of fall. I get a soapy sweet powdery dry down. I love chanel. Unlike others, I did not have a problem with longevity. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin and the same is with all the other chanels I own so I wasn't expecting more. Silage is low but still noticeable. The orange cake stage lasts longer on clothes and hair. It's very classy and sexy! I love it.

I have been wearing Chanel No. 5 for years—a timeless classic—but the impression that Paris-Venise left on me was unlike anything I had experienced before.

Soft and soft and soft. Thats all. Good , easy, pleasant smell but not outstanding. I dont understand why this range is marketed as EDT while nowadays go EDP everywhere. Thats making its performance is just moderate and under , while having and EDP price obviously! I dont get the point of having a good smell but nobody can even smell it (weak performance). I have the whole variant in this range. To me they are not really a good performer however i can say the smells are all good, and Venise got my top spot among others. Nothing much to story about.

Airy, ethereal and elegant. So I must be super lucky because I sprayed this on at 1.30 this afternoon, I caught wafts of it throughout the rest of the day and 5 hours later it’s still there, a gorgeous skin scent. Sprayed once on the back of my hand. Neroli comes in so many shades, the neroli in Paris-Venise is very similar to Elie Saab’s soliflore version. I totally agree with the other reviewers that this is the perfect office fragrance. This isn’t a powerhouse EDT, it’s a gracious ballerina dancing on skin.

I really enjoy this scent. I'm a guy and though many say it's feminine, to me it just smells clean and soapy. I feel that anyone can pull it off. Very well put together scent for the hot Summer. I feel like iris is not often used as a light freshy note, so this is cool to have on hand. It doesnt last too long and is light, so it's one you'll want to over-spray and reapply and have a small bottle on hand. But that is expected with this line of Les Eaux. They're kind of intended to over-spray. 8/10

A very feminine fresh, sweet and creamy scent. What I love most is the pink pepper and neroli which play so well together. I have found that it can smell a little sun tan lotion-y, per my boyfriends review. With that said, it leans towards a spring or summer day fragrance. Its a very inoffensive and versatile frag. I will say that it has this underlying undeniable Chanel smell to it that I am in love with. Overall, I will repurchase because I keep coming back to it in my collection.

This is beautiful. It's fresh, light, slightly citrusy, slightly floral with just a touch of powder and sweet muskiness at the dry down. It isn't a powerhouse by any means, but it does have relatively good lasting power for what it is. Because it is light, it seems like a spring/summer daytime scent, but it's so beautiful, I'd consider it for a signature scent. It's definitely not in your face or ground-breaking, but it's pure beauty and femininity just as you'd expect from Chanel.

Blind and successful buy. Was hoping to find something close to Dioramour and this is it! Beautiful representation of the iris. It is not the beast-mode kind of a perfume, but rather a classy, second skin, close to perfection scent that stays with you throughout the whole day. It boosts your self confidence a lot, too, because you simply smell soo elegant and one of a kind. Pretty expensive, but you worth it, buy yourself a birthday present! 😎

Clean, fresh, and musky citrus and floral scent. The flowers are creamy and soft, and the spiciness from the pink pepper makes it sparkly. So gorgeous. Moderate longevity and sillage, but it lingers on the hair and clothes. I got many compliments on it, especially from older women. Typical elegant Chanel DNA in this one. Simple but sophisticated. Unisex but slightly feminine leaning and perfect for summer but can be worn all year round.

This scent is so gorgeous with its natural smelling citruses paired with a gentle, not overly-powdery iris. Until Chanel answers my prayers and creates an EDP of this, I'll continue dousing myself generously with this lovely scent. If you like citrus with iris, a few perfumes come to mind with better lasting power: Chance Eau Vive, Ex Nihilo's Honore Delights, and MFK's Amyris pour femme.

This is a truly beautiful one from Olivier Polge. Super bright with a lovely powdery feminine dry down. It's no surprise that this one is a winner for me. It has much of the DNA of Coco Mademoiselle and blue de Chanel. Two of my all time favorites but it is stronger in its Iris notes and has a more muskie clean. Almost soapy dry down. Definitely more feminine strongly recommend

ChanelBaddie below has said what I came here to say – this is a beautiful scent with zero sillage and longevity. If there were an EDP version of this it would be on my want list immediately, but knowing how much profit Chanel makes each year this is shamefully overpriced for the performance. L’Eau it may be but it currently cannot match the faintest of weak watery body mists.

Lovely subtle scent, powdery and on the sweet side. I don't get any of the citrus notes listed at all. To me it just smells 'clean', not really like a perfume, but more like a really nice soap. I really, really like it as a daily perfume, unfortunately it has virtually no longevity and I can't smell it at all after 30min. Edimbourg from the same line is much longer lasting.

I think I commented about this perfume before, to say that it's like inedible orange cake. im commenting now to say that i was wrong, it's like gondola boards made out of orange wood warming under the post-midday sun. also PS, one of my fav reviews here is the one saying how "it's something that a very rich lady puts on after her bath and then goes out to lunch."
