Like the previous reviewer mentioned, this opens with a bright but short-lived burst of lemon verbena-flavored Pez. The dry down softens into a mix of milky florals. The neroli here isn’t an overly sweet, designer neroli - it’s more photorealistic, with a slight bitterness. I don’t detect even a WHISPER of ginger or incense, which is disappointing, because a touch of smoke or spice might have elevated this from a like to a love for me. It’s very pretty, but lacks depth or edge. Without the incense, this doesn’t read as explicitly churchy, but there is something angelic about it. It evokes a pastoral spring scene: white Edwardian dresses, baby lambs, maypoles, all overlaid with a diaphanous veil of nostalgia. Performance isn’t great, but at this price point, I don’t mind. And call me crazy, but I go googoo gaga for this weird plain bottle. This is something I’d reach for when I want something subtle and inoffensive for a spring day. Beautiful Smooth Low Sweet Milky Neroli/Jasmine. Light citric opening of Bergamot, Verbena and a touch of spiced Ginger, then goes slightly milky as natural sweetened non-indolic Jasmine/Neroli come forward. Very light but lovely drydown of musk, non-acrid incense and non-bitter oakmoss. Nice for spring/summer wear, especially in evenings. Becomes more beautiful as it wears on and the dewy fresh green neroli hovers over a gentle, restrained jasmine softened by the milk accord and becomes a clean, refreshing, very soothing mossy skin scent. Comforting and relaxing. No harsh edges. I could relax all day or night in this one. Soft as eider down, white as snow. No soapy detergent like facets here.

oh this perfume! very classic scent with slightly soapy citrus and powder, but soft and so so smooth. feels like fresh shaved legs on white silk sheets. dries down really mellow and floral. just so pretty and feminine and silky. sadly not as long lasting as i would like it to be. after about 2 hours, i can only smell it if i bring my wrist to my nose. i also dont smell the ginger notes at all. but im ok with that! it doesnt need spicy undertones to work. i think it serves well as a daily wear. nice light fragrance at a reasonable price.

I absolutely fell in love with this one! I am on a tester n°2-making sure I still like it..well..It's a very calming, meditative but very uplifting joyful scent. To me it is a perfect slow morning scent. It is so easygoing to me, that I'm definitely going to get the full bottle on Monday! The silage and longevity is ok with this one, as I am looking for something that is not loud and I can change the scent easily later. Just a perfect peaceful scent. I think I found my spring/summer signature:)

beautiful and well crafted. First you get a bright happy citrus note with a hint of sweetness, almost a candied lemon peel. It then opens up into a beautiful floral creamy dream, with some citrus hanging around. Its a happy fragrance that makes you stop and smile. Very short longevity, but that cant be helped with these notes. Its a great purse perfume, due to the affordability and the need to reapply every few hours. Excellent bright fresh spring scent

Milky, lemony jasmine. Very gentle ginger note. A little powdery in the drydown but not in a makeup way. It's very delicate and pretty and comforting. I'm loving it. I do get a slight fruity pebbles vibe, but it's not overtly cereal, too clean for that. It hits perfectly central on the clean/cozy axis. It's something I would love to spray after a shower and then climb into clean sheets. Wearing it makes me feel like a new baby.

For someone who finds that neroli or incense doesn’t work with my skin chemistry, this is a truly gorgeous scent. I detect none of these notes. Lemon curd/ orange blossom + pastry opening and settles to a milky jasmine plus a fuzzy, airy molecule like note. It’s very smooth, velvety and moderately sweet without feeling ‘heavy’. Full bottle worthy.

A gorgeous, milky fragrance that melts on your skin. Does not last a long time, so this would be a perfect bedtime scent or one you sprits on first thing out of the shower. Low/Moderate projection (depending on how many sprays), and sillage is very low. Overall, this is a nice one to have as your go-to cozy scent~

RARWARWRARWRA I LUV DIS SO MUCHHH >_< Somehow, to me, yellow citrus perfumes smell like one of those perfumed wipes they give ya at restaurants, but this one aint like that at all. Itz creamy and soft, smells clean in a not fresh but cozy way, kinda ethereal.

I love this one. Feel protected, comforted but also energised for a new beginning! The lactonic note is really nicely done, the ginger lily gives it a freshness, and the light incense makes it mildly mysterious.

wowee this one is beautiful. a warm blanket of lactonic lemon ... how can a girl go wrong? i wish the scent bubble wasn't as fragile but that's just kind of what you get with these notes. no harm no foul

This encapsulates enjoying a lemony gelato on a spring/summer day along the coast, catching faint whiffs of driftwood and a bonfire burning in the distance.

precious sweet citrus that dries down soooo smooth. the name tells you everything you need to know. this perfume is very special to me.....

at the church i grew up in, there was a nursery at the back of the congregation, and it smells like babies in there. like a mix of baby formula and just that baby type of smell. like when the top of a baby's head smells warm and fuzzy. this reminds me of that, and sitting in the back row, sharing lemon-ginger hard candies with your friends at church. this scent evokes something nostalgic in me, and i kind of hate it because those years of my life associated with this scent were absolutely horrible. that being said, this is bittersweet to me, as it still reminds me of something so youthful and sweet. this opens green, yellow, floral and bright; like the flowers outside of church on a breezy spring day, and again, you've got your lemon-ginger cough drop candies in your pocket, warm from holding them in your palm, and now they're kind of sticking to the wrappers. as it dries, it is a soft and gentle musk and milky neroli. it smells so... smooth. i don't get a lot of incense in it honestly, but how i smell it right now, i think it's perfect the way it is. would make a really nice spring-summer scent.

The oakmoss/neroli and verbena combination is giving it a hint of vintage, maybe an lotv and oakmoss situation like diorissimo.... But just a vague hint. Incense and milk hang back but keep this from landing solely in any saturated genre where it would be immediately forgotten. It's not only citrus, not only a white floral... Innocent and kinda seaside churchy. I'm glad I tried this as there's talent here... I'm keen to test the others, notably l'eau d'epine and oud pagode (:

musky citrus! discrete and evanescent like most chapel factory scents fragrances i have tried. on my wrists, i am missing the florals in a straight up way, but there is a slight creaminess around the musk that i think is owed to them. on my warmer inner elbows, there is a delicate lactonic jasmine blooming and becoming the star of the show. very clean girl but with texture and layers, if a shampoo smelled like this i would die for it.

Baptisma smells like a very nice blend of Nenuco (a popular cologne for babies in Spain) and Lann-ael by Lostmarch (a milky cereal perfume). If there is incense in the base I really can’t smell it. It’s a fresh, innocent, short-lived scent, appropriate for the hot weather. Nothing groundbreaking here but some times you just want to smell fresh and nice.

This one is mainly a neroli scent. It is a thick, powdery neroli with a woody backbone; sort of like Eight &Bob's Mémoires de Mustique, etc. Not smokey at all, as the notes suggest. Surprisingly, very long lasting on clothes. Very nice for spring and summer.

What a beautiful scent. Honestly I feel like a bride wearing this. Soft, feminine, a bit sweet milk, with white flowers. For the price this is absolutely full bottle worthy.

I'm gonna risk sounding like a hipster, but the two I tried from this brand were a lot more mainstream than I expected, based on how the brand positions itself. I would describe this as a clean musk with floral-citrus undertones. It gives me crisp 90's in spring vibes, which isn't a bad thing, but just not MY thing. Quality seems quite good, as I did not get the hairspray screechiness that many musky floral scents tend to give me, and the sillage is decent too.

I can see the vision here and I imagine that on some people this may smell really nice. Unfortunately on my skin the bergamot and milk notes mix together to just give this a sort of sour milk smell. I get some of the floral notes but it isn't enough to cover the weird milk situation. This scent does smell lovely in the air though so I may have to try just spraying this on clothes instead of skin.

I’m both impressed and unsettled by Chapel Factory’s ability to recreate the catholic scents of my childhood. This absolutely smells like a spring baptism with a lighter church incense; not heavy and oppressive like the incense note in Holy Stick. I can’t stop smelling it, even though it makes me feel weird.

I enjoy this one. It's not groundbreaking but I don't have anything else like it in my collection. Can't beat the price! I get more citrus than anything else. I really don't get any milk or incense at all, zero. But I think it's still worth keeping. I will experiment with layering this one.

It's just okay to me. Sweet lemon verbena and florals with a milky texture. I don't get any incense, ginger or musk. I was really hoping for an almost sharp ginger note underneath it all.

I tested it twice on skin and both times it was a scrubber. Someone on a different website compared this to Starburst candy, and to my great disappointment it did indeed smell like a bag of yellow and orange Starbursts. It even captured the gumminess of the candy - I think this was supposed to be the lactonic note, but it came off as a xanthan gum substitute of the real thing. Surprisingly, rinsing my forearm with dish soap managed to bring out some gentle jasmine and white musk by toning down the bitter, artificial-smelling citrus. In this form, it was more befitting of its name, like a baby scent. I rated this as "dislike" rather than "hate" because it did smell OK in the end... after I tried washing it off.

I thought that I would really enjoy this one since I adore lactonic notes in perfumes — especially paired with citrus and incense — but it smells incredibly infantile and almost like a kindergarten weirdly enough. I think it’s because it reminds me of the wet wipes that I used to use a lot while working with children, but sadly, even people around me agreed that it smelt like wet wipes and kindergarten. I will unfortunately give up with this fragrance and try to gift my decant.

Hard to wear, Nenuco like cologne with an strong milky base (probably oatmoss and white flowers), brings some happiness but feels heavy, almost overwhelming. Interesting combination, hard to wear.

I never thought these notes would be something i enjoy as somone who doesn't like white florals and is impartial to citrus but this is really beautiful. Someone below said it smells like the cap of a baby and I understand that. It has this lemon powdered pure clean baby skin scent who has recently had some of mums milk. I think of a baby getting baptised in a little church in Italy surrounded by lemon trees and maybe the mother had a sweet treat of lemon flavoured turkish delight dusted in powder and her fingers are still a bit sticky and powdery as she holds her baby. Silly description but that is what this smells like. Not something I would FB but I appreciate the artisty. It really smells pure, light and clean (but not in a gross soapy way). Gorgeous summer and/or office safe fragrance for a woman who enjoys quality and simplicity. Literally the most virginal fragrance I have ever laid my nose on.

I sampled this a few years ago and remembered liking it, so I picked up a decant recently when I had the chance. I didn’t review the notes before spraying it straight on skin. Having little memory of what it smelled like, I was surprised when my nose detected the American candy, Smarties! At first sniff it was gently powdery sweet with some brightness peeking through. Over the next few minutes it actually brightened further and became slightly more tart. Looking at the notes now, I can clearly smell the verbena, and over time it becomes soft, musky, with a trace of incense as it dries down. Dare I say it carries a breath of L’Air de Rien as the top notes fade away? It gives a “lived in t-shirt straight out of bed” sort of impression. Each of these phases passes quickly. It’s light and easy to wear. A decant is perfect since it would need to be reapplied to extend longevity. Happy to have it.

When it comes to citrus and milk, I prefer Ghost in the Shell. This is pretty and pleasant but it reminds me of and indoor pool. The smell of the locker room lemon fresh cleaner, skin soaked in chlorine, your hand soap and travel shampoo. Not something I want to be reminded of or smell like. I would’ve preferred more incense or more citrus or more milk. The balance seems off.

ooooh i like this. so airy and dainty. notes are very straight forward and the name is so accurate because this essentially smells like a church service for babies rinsed with holy water followed by a faint trail of incense that is kissed gently by the ginger. fresh and clean, may lean slightly feminine for some but unisex nonetheless. wow

Lovely lemony opening, fresh and bright! Develops into a white floral, I smell orange flower instead of neroli - neroli is usually much more bitter on me. The milky note is not lactonic (which is great) - maybe this is what softens the neroli accord. I don't really get much of the base notes.

Ugh I love this one so much. Immediately knew it was full bottle worthy, and at only around $110 for 100ml. Very light and fresh citrus at the beginning, nice milky and slightly incense dry down. Its so light and ethereal with an almost innocent vibe.

Lemon sorbet ice-cream with inoffensive incense. Reminds me the Orthodox Church in summer. There is something holy in this scent. Love from the first sniff. I would love try to discover more perfumes from this house, as I think it is so underrated!

I absolutely adore this. It smells exactly like the lemon flavored PEZ candy in the opening. It dries down to more of a milky sandalwood. Very beautiful. Not great longevity but I love it too much to care.

so beautiful on skin. it's spicy and super clean without pushing on being soapy. sweet and lemony. i imagine this scent on someone close in age but more mature than me.

Pretty baby cologne type scent. Between Baby by Tous and Ambrette by Le Labo. The neroli/jasmine combo is the fruity pebbles cereal variety. Light skin scent.

Smells JUST like orange starburst, but it dries down like a glass of milk and incense. :) I will be buying a FB.

Like sweet tarts and musk and I love it! Lemony verbena is the star here. A kind fragrance. Easy hit! ✨
