Pura Lux

REALITY : This is what I want quiet luxury to smell like. Not the flashy nepo baby but the one who sits quietly in a corner of a beautiful summer home in the Cotswolds, reading poetry beside lacquered wood furniture while looking out over the gardens. Maybe there's a horse. REVIEW 🦪: Pura Lux is slightly soapy, incredibly refined, and much prettier than I expected from the note list. There's almost a green quality to it, but I think that's really just the soapiness creating the illusion. I'm especially surprised by the sandalwood. Usually, sandalwood announces itself from three rooms away and demands attention. Here, it has politely agreed to sit in the trunk so the other notes can have the good seats. Everything is blended so beautifully that it's difficult to pick apart. Instead of smelling individual notes, you smell the result: expensive skincare, clean skin, fresh linens, and someone who has never once checked their bank account before ordering dessert. 10/10. The horse was definitely there.

A transparent veil's thin creases draped over a white marble face with serenely closed eyes. Chapel Factory's inspiration from the spiritual is made clear through this fragrance reminding me of Giovanni Strazza's The Veiled Virgin. Light, powdery, clean musks with a touch of white florals invoke purity, but what sticks with me the most is the blend of gentle spice from black pepper and warmth from amber. If it wasn’t for this aspect of the fragrance, it might have lost me - especially since its sillage is quite intimate. Yet I keep smelling my wrist after 2 hours of applying it, intrigued by the subtlety of the musk notes mingling with creamy sandalwood and cooling cedar. Overall it is very easy to wear, and feels clean. After some time a hint of pleasant earthiness from the patchouli emerges, grounding this feather-light caress of a fragrance hovering near the skin like a veil.

My first review here lol. First of all, almost every fragrance i try smells different than listed on my weird skin. But this one smells like hope to me. Like a big, long warm hug from my mom i never received. Its powdery but not old, its sweet but not girly, its soapy but not cheap. It reminds me of Diptique L'Eau Papier, but longer longevity and less ricey.
