Carrington

Yes!... I get to be the first reviewer on this fragrance,Carrington was my signature scent in high school,ohh how I loved this cologne,when I wore this I felt like the cat's meow or better yet like Blake Carrington himself ,(for those of you who were not around in the 80's.. DYNASTY was one of the biggest hit TV series of that decade), everything for me revolved around DYNASTY, this cologne was based off the character Blake Carrington there was also Krystle the womens perfume based off the character Krystle Carrington, I could never quite pinpoint what was in this cologne that made it smell so good to me, but now years later having been lucky enough to get a couple bottles on ebay (and by the way it smelled exactly how I remembered), I've read that one of the notes in it is anise and I believe that's what gives it that special scent..fresh..creamy..lightly spiced..Carrington is worth its weight in Gold..Truly Amazing!!

My Daddy used to wear this when he and my Mother used to "go out." Ohhh, did I love this smell! It was so unique, clean, and upscale smelling. I keep his original bottle in my perfume collection and sniff it for nostalgia's sake. To me, it smelled of leather--it also projected well. What a great cologne!

This is pretty good. It is definitely similar to Brut, but I'm getting an added brighter soapiness. Performance is good. When I want a Brut fix, I actually think I like Carrington better than Brut. Recommend.

Ok so Dynasty is a bit before my time, but I did watch it in syndication. I really appreciate the sample I was given to try. WHAT'S UP, JOHN FORSYTHE?! I wonder what Forever Krystle smells like. Shoulder pads? Sequins? Ok enough. So I smell a lot of heliotrope and ylang-ylang. Ylang Ylang can sometimes have a banana type nuance on me, and it certainly does in this. A soft, creamy banana. Very slight anise. I'm trying to remember what ferns smell like because they don't grow in southern California, but there is certainly something green in here as well.

This was one of my middle school scents. Fresh opening and the drydown smelled cheap like Jordache and imposter colognes today. The notes fell away and just left a mush of chemical. I never loved it.

I got a tiny sample of Carrington in a package with some other decants I purchased and MAN was it a throwback. I used to snag this off my dad when I was 10 or so. It's remarkable how good this fragrance is for a borderline drugstore offering. Fragrantica is right on the money classifying it as an Oriental Fougere - it's BASICALLY Azarro Pour Homme with an amber base. They share the same anise/lavender character, but the Carrington is more vanillic without becoming as sweet as most of today's amber masculines. While primarily chemical in nature, it's round and deep enough to smell like it has some natural materials in it too.

Found this lurking in the medicine cabinet from way back when. Actually I like it, fresh notes on top of oriental base. Note: longevity not very good for me, but the contents may have degraded from long years of steamy bathroom conditions.

Another standard 'cologne.' Nothing here to really get me going.
