Ambre

Absolutely love this perfume, definitely one of my favorites!! It's a little pricey in my opinion and I wish it came in a bigger bottle. So far I've only found bottles of 5.2ml and they don't come cheap. I discovered Ambre when I received a gift set of 10 small bottles of Charrier perfumes and since then I've been searching for more! It's long lasting and smells divine! Would absolutely recommend :D

This perfume belongs to the family of Chopard Casmir. Love it!

The scent of Charrier's Ambre is certainly much more than just amber, ...but the amber note found here is a strangely distinctive one that forms the base for a bizzarely pungent, and powdery accord, composed also of rose-geranium, powder (orris?) and possibly other vague and unlisted notes. The scent is remarkably memorable, ...but not particularly pleasant. A close analog of this singular accord occurs in Rochas' Tocade, and the two scents are quite similar. However, Ambre is slightly softer and somewhat more polyfloral and complex than the even more polarizing Tocade. Besides the singularly odd accord described above, not much else happens. There are some sharp and short-lived notes of greenery and citrus at the beginning, and vague half-notes of other floral elements, but all are rather indistinct. Later, in the deeper drydown, after the green and rose notes have diminished, Ambre does smell mostly of vanilla, ...but even then, it is a particularly sharp and acrid vanilla. One not suggesting a relationship amber so much as with an artificial powder note. The people who love Ambre (and Tocade) know who thay are. The rest of us can only scratch are heads and wonder why.

I got this as a gift with a bunch of other perfumes. I got this more then 4 years ago. And i finally started liking it! I was always scared of this perfume because of the scary top notes. It always gave me a major headache. But after 4 years I was eager to test its dry down and I LOVE IT!! Its warm, yummy and floral. I can't believe I had it for 4 freakin' years and didn't even know how amazing this could turn out to be!:)
