Matcha Break

possibly THE best matcha latte fragrance i have ever smelled. HOOOOLY SHIT. i'm a huge sucker for photorealistic fragrances that smell EXACTLY like their real life counterparts: matcha break does this perfectly. the unfortunate thing with a lot of other matcha scents on the market (kayali, for example) is that they tend to lean way too sweet and have the matcha as an afterthought. this fragrance is the perfect combination of sweet (and like bianca_elly below me says, not too sweet), lactonic, creamy, and green (which, to me, is the entire point of a matcha fragrance)!!!! it actually just smells like a whole milk matcha latte, straight from the cafe. i dont know HOW chasing scents did this, but i NEED a full bottle , holy shit???????? perfect for spring and fall, but i could see the milky aspect of this fragrance feeling cloying in summer 🤔 if you like dannam's matcha soft serve but wish it was a smidge more rounded out with milk, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try this. its soooo good . 🤤🤤🤤 longevity is fairly good, i sprayed this on my clothes and it lasted for a few days! on the skin, maybe a couple hours — i'd say the sillage is within arms' length — it won't suffocate you, but you'll be able to catch whiffs of it throughout the day :D overall rating: 10/10 — its a match-a for me 🐦👍🍵🍵🍵

I bought a decant of this, sprayed it on a testing strip, and accidentally turned my bedroom into a cafe. For three whole days, and yes I’m saying three whole days, every time I walked into my room it smelled like someone had just made a fresh matcha latte. Not ceremonial matcha that’s just powder and water. I’m talking a creamy, slightly sweet matcha latte w that comforting milky vibe. I was so sold that I ordered a full bottle before I’d even worn it on skin. Thankfully it lived up to the hype. On skin it’s just as beautiful as it is on paper. The projection is great, the longevity is great, and it stays true from start to finish. It’s one of the most photorealistic tea fragrances I’ve smelled. Yes, technically it’s a gourmand, but it’s not one of those super sugary, juvenile gourmands. If you’ve ever had Asian desserts, you’ll know the highest compliment is, “It’s not too sweet.” That’s exactly how Matcha Break feels. Creamy, slightly sweet, comforting, and balanced. The bamboo note keeps everything grounded so it never gets cloying. The bottle is gorgeous too, and I love the artwork on the back. Honestly, no regrets buying the full bottle before finishing the decant.

I was glad I bought a travel size because the day I got this I thought it was horrible, I re-read all the reviews and watched all the Tiktoks and thought my nose was totally broken. I put it aside and decided to get on with my life. Then I went and had a matcha one day and it reminded me that I had this at home, I waited until the next morning and gave this a spray on moisturised skin and my god it had changed. At first this had been screechy and unpleasant but now it is green and sweet and all hints of being screechy are gone. I wonder was it a very very new bottle when I got it? It had been out of stock for a long time and I bought direct from the brand. I get a lot of tea, I get some earthyness and I get a beautiful sweetness. So glad I kept this and gave it another shot, also really glad I didnt review it on day one.

Super photorealistic matcha latte. It’s bright and green yet the milky notes give it a cozy effect. It has a sweetness but I wouldn’t call it a ‘sweet white chocolatey’ fragrance. There are just enough creamy milky notes to pull it back from being a green herbaceous matcha. This is first and foremost, a tea fragrance, not a white chocolate fragrance which is true to the brand. That might shock some people who are expecting a super sweet style of fragrance, something akin to Sorce Match Made In Heaven. It’s not that style of fragrance. This is the most realistic matcha latte fragrance I have tried. Put your nose in your matcha latte and smell it. It’s earthy and milky and just a touch of sweet. That’s what you get with this. It’s an absolute beast. The sillage is incredible. I love it.

This is a matcha perfume come true for me. The fragrance is undeniably matcha and it’s no wonder why it was sold out for some time. The opening is like a fresh butter matcha cookie out of the oven and dry down is a realistic matcha latte. Luckily there is no sour note on my skin and the milky creamy texture makes it more of a delicious latte than a herbaceous bitter matcha. Not too sweet or cloying at all, and it lasts much longer on clothes with good projection. I love it.

9/10 Most chasing scent brand perfumes have been way too strong for me and didn’t hit quite like I’d have liked. THIS, however, is literally a PICTURE PERFECT matcha latte scent, I sprayed myself on my collar bone and all day it felt like I had my nose stuffed in a hot matcha latte. And a good one too... to be fair my friend said I smelled like milk which made me lol but that was after 4 hours of walking in sweaty nyc heat so win win?? Milk smell???? I’ll take it I think??

Absolutely love this. It’s a creamy matcha scent that’s very comforting. I have about a dozen tea centric perfume and this ranks at the top.

It is photorealistic but it’s not matcha powder it’s more matcha KitKat Chocolate bar or those cheap matcha fudge candies you can buy. The end smells more like Oolong tea 🫖 ☕️ which is nice to smell but I don’t know about wearing this one.

the first spray of this is absolutely a matcha latte. i was so excited! unfortunately, it goes into hiding almost immediately after that and i'm not really sure where it disappears to. on my skin, i mostly smell something green. maybe it's the bamboo? i honestly can't tell. it just has this persistent green note that sits in the background and overpowers everything else, but it doesn't smell like matcha green. it smells more botanical than earthy. every now and then, as it warms on my skin, i'll catch another little whiff of that creamy matcha latte from the opening. those moments are lovely, but they're too fleeting for me to really enjoy the fragrance as a whole. what sticks around the longest is less of a matcha latte and more like plain matcha powder before you've mixed it into anything. earthy, and a bit bitter, i don't mind that direction at all, but i was hoping for a little more creaminess to balance it out. overall this one is mostly a miss for me. i kept chasing those little flashes of the opening, but they never stayed around long enough.

Smells like a matcha latte in the opening but the dry down is a soft herbal green smell mixed with feminine? floral? Leaning aromachemicals. It's nice and powdery, creamy but that delightful matcha green tea smell in the beginning fades away quickly.

The bamboo and jasmine really come out for me, and it’s the rubbery latexy kind of jasmine :(

The opening is beautiful: fresh, green, and exactly what I was hoping for. However, the dry-down is a different story. The fragrance quickly shifts into a rich white chocolate scent that becomes overwhelmingly sweet and creamy. On my skin, the milky sweetness takes over completely, making it feel a little too heavy and sickly for my taste

maybe im just a guy that’s used to different scents but i have a handful of gourmands. to me this smells sickingly sweet and lactonic with a matcha base. that could be someone else’s thing but not mine :( photorealistic creamy matcha latte tho 4/10

this is by far the most photorealistic matcha i've smelt, very powdery with a hint of smth fresh and floral. smells like opening a fresh tin rather than the drink, so it did lean more bitter and green rather than gourmand. since it smelt so beautiful on paper i wanted it to work well, but it was completely vile on me. The matcha notes disappeared completely into the overpowering smell of spoiled milk. rly unfortunate bc it did smell so good by itself 💔 do NOT blind buy

This smells exactly like fresh powdered matcha. Very green and bright. I thought I would like it, but it just doesn’t wear well on my skin. It turned very sour. But if you want to smell like matcha this is very photo realistic!

To me, this smells like rancid butter. An extremely strong, nauseating lactonic scent. Just the tiniest bit of matcha flavored white chocolate in the dry down.

Had really high hopes as I love sandys work. I was soo excited to try this. Finally tested it today two sprays on skin hated it unfortunately I wanted to scrub it immediately it’s the milk notes for me :( the very overpowering photorealistic dairy cream note which is all I could smell. I have the same issue with philosophy fresh cream and replica afternoon delight . I do like the whiffs of matcha tea but to could not handle the cream smell. sprayed slow world over it twice to try and mask it and carried on with me day as I was out. the milk notes definitely soften over time and become a more vanillic gourmand with vegetal notes (might be slow world I’m smelling?) but I can’t get over the initial spray and won’t be picking this up. I didn’t end up scrubbing it off and it’s lasted 10+ hours on me. doesn’t smell like matcha meditation- to me that’s more jasmine forward. layering the two might work for others. another time I would like to just test on paper

This is a really delicious matcha perfume. I have tried most of the other matcha tea perfumes and they capture the slightly bitter, earthy aspect of matcha which I don’t like. This however does not have that, it definitely smells of matcha but it is sweet and milky and I definitely get the white chocolate. It is super smooth and does not have the off note that is common in many milky perfumes. It is really just like an iced matcha but not too sweet or sticky. The best if the matcha tea options in my opinion.

Iced matcha latte, half sugar—the most accurate matcha fragrance I've encountered so far. Sweet but not crystalline sugary or vanilla-forward (thankfully, for me). I'm smelling a lot of Hedione which slightly throws it off, making it closer to a jasmine green milk tea, but still pleasantly matcha-forward. Grateful I don't get any of the sour milk notes on my skin.

This is a cute scent.. My daughter said : “you smell like a San pelegrino” the fizzy drinks in a can lol..not too sure how.. Lol. I don't get too much lactonic, I get more green notes - matcha, bamboo & jasmine It's not a love for me, it's just a like
