Chloé Absolu de Parfum

To me hands down this is the best Chloe perfume I have smelled, and I have smelled a handful of them. This is just better blended. This is the Chloe for fall, and winter. I see this as a daytime, and night time perfume, but I still want a Chloe De Nuit perfume. I posted in the forum about this a few days ago, but got no reply to it. To me Absolu is richer than the original which I have never owed a full bottle, because I thought it was too sharp, but now I am going to smell it again, I did have samples in the past. This perfume is buttery, the rose peeks out every now, and again. I really get the vanilla, and patchouli mix, but the patchouli isn't that dirty. I was going to blind buy this perfume, but I didn't I seen bottles pop up on ebay, but apart of me wanted to wait, because of me not liking the original, which that may change, because it's been awhile since I smelled it. I smelled this perfume from the November issue of Harper's Bazaar in the USA, for around two weeks before I decided to buy it. I kept smelling this perfume, and the more I did the more I wanted it, it became addictive. To me, and for me this is the perfect rose perfume, because of how well it's done, it's not too sharp it's just right. Rose perfumes haven't been my favorite, Chloe Absolu has changed my mind. This is also on the powdery side as well, I started thinking a slight cosmetic smell, it's not like the powdery soapy like how Love Story Eau Sensuelle is. I see this perfume as slightly earthy, to me it feels like a older Chloe, maybe on the Vintage side. Most Chloe perfumes I think are that way more from a past time which I like, because I feel like we don't get that enough these days. I will say this is one of my favorite perfumes of 2017.

I love this scent so much. It smells like roses (plural), almost like rose essential oil but more refined and elegant. I think I get some patchouli, and no vanilla, luckily for me. But it's just a background. All I feel is roses and butterflies in my stomach. It is so eternal, romantic and understated. I'm a very practical person but this is one of the few perfumes that induce real emotions in me. It feels very authentic - it is not concerned with trends yet it doesn't try to impress anyone with its novelty. I like the original, but I couldn't have the same connection as with Absolu. I think Chloe Absolu de Parfum could be the only perfume one owns and it would be great for all occasions and seasons. The quality is very high and the scent is not offensive to general public. If you love true florals (especially roses!) and you don't want to be "too niche" with this choice, Absolu de Parfum is a very very nice perfume to have. It is quite intense though, so don't overspray if you are sensitive. Edit: I agree with MissCee about the opening being intoxicating. I don't know how to explain my feeling other than vertigo, the sense of dizziness when you are in love and don't have much sense of reality. This is really weird, because it's just a smell! A clean, dry smell with nothing resembling food or booze. Edit 2: After wearing for more than 6 months I understand the drydown more. It remains very rosy, but turns almost metallic. Now I believe that it can be safely worn by men as well because the basis of this scent is a clean bitter floral. I extend my recommendation to basically everybody who doesn't care about labels and marketing. It is a beauty.

Chloe Absolue is the deeper, richer, amberier, more vanilla based version of the beloved Choe EDP launched in 2008. Even though I always appreciate a longer lasting, more potent version of a fragrance, in this case I prefer the original Chloe over Absolue! While this gains some contrast with the addition of patchouli leaves and vanilla to the rose heart, it loses the ethereal beauty, the addictive smell of fresh, aquatic, pink and white flowers. The Absolue is far more common smelling than the Chloe EDP. Until few years back when litchi become a very popular note in perfumes, Chloe DNA was quite special and different from other rose forward scents. I love Chloe Absolue for cooler days or nights wear, but nothing will replace for me the magic that Chloe EDP creates every time I wear it. I will forever repurchase the original Chloe but can’t say the same for the Absolue version. Most likely when I finish my current bottle, I will stick to the original Chloe! For me nothing can compare with the way Chloe EDP makes me feel. Pretty, happy, carefree, expensive...

Absolu is similar to Chloé EDP yet different if you know the two scents well. Absolu is creamy and rich, earthier and heavier. This perfume has the rose note like the original but stronger and more beautifully blended. The new bit is the patchouli and vanilla ... but I’m unable to detect these notes separately. It is not as sharp as the original at the beginning and has a heavy incense type note, then it dries down to a beautiful scent, similar to the original but lasts much longer. I love Chloé EDP and this being along similar lines, I got a bottle of Absolu too. If u love Chloe EDP, you will want to have this in your collection too as this is a limited edition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Chloe edp. Even though it’s a very good quality perfume, if you are looking for an entirely new smell from the house of Chloé, this is not really it, it’s along the lines of the original Chloe EDP, a deeper richer version that is more lasting and has very good projection.

Chloe Absolu is gorgeous like the Chloe EDP, same DNA just a little bit of patchouli. Patchouli is my least favorite note, however in this fragrance its not dirty or earthy, its a soft and slightly sweet patchouli. Original Chloe is one of my all time favorites because of how rosy it is. This one has less rose, still a very much rose perfume dont get me wrong, but not as in your face as the original. Usually “absolu”, “intense”, “lextrait” versions are tend to be dirtier, but this fragrance is just as clean and soapy as the og. Also despite not being listed in the notes, litchi note is definitely present. The reason i got a sample of this was because the original doesnt last on me at all, unfortunately same with Absolu. But sillage is better, i’ll give it that. I wont be using this one instead of Chloe EDP but glad im tried this.

My local Shoppers Drug Mart already carries this, and I had the pleasure of smelling this and trying it out the other day. I'm not a huge fan of any of the other Chloe's, but this one is divine! To my nose, it's really not a true floral like the other flankers. This is rich, oh so smooth and buttery, and more of a heady vanilla, slightly leaning toward floral (the rose). It's really beautiful, and incredibly long lasting both on clothes and skin. I also sprayed it on a paper tester and left it on the windowsill in our top floor hallway, and 4 days later I can still smell this halfway up the stairs. Really packs a punch and will not disappoint in the longevity/projection department. I can easily see this falling into my cart in the near future!

This definitely has the same DNA as the original Chloe EDP - it's predominately a soapy, feminine rose. The two are so similar that I'm not quite sure if it's worth owning both, but at the same time Absolu has a totally different character than Chloe EDP. It's missing the tart standoffishness of the original and has a warmer, more down-to-earth feeling. The vanilla is faint - it lends warmth to the fragrance but not much sweetness. I normally hate patchouli but it's SO smooth in this fragrance that even I enjoy it. Overall I think Absolu is less unique; has a little less personality than Chloe EDP. It's basically a toned-down Chloe that's better suited to evening wear and cooler weather.

Chloé Absolu de Parfum is a beautiful, feminine, and elegant perfume. It smells chic and expensive. I am a sucker for patchouli and rose and if I was on a distant island and I could take only 2 things with me to make a perfume there, it would certainly be those two notes. I agree with many of the commenters here, the opening is to die for. But I also love the heart of the perfume- Rose from Grass and Patchouli. This perfume is perfect for fall and winter and I must say, I had a lot of compliments coming from females. It's a very pleasant scent and I can surely say, that I will buy this again :).

Chloé Absolu de Parfum by Chloé was an instant yes for me because I love the original so finding out the made an absolu was exciting for me! I love the pop of the patchouli, it adds a nice spiciness! They keep the original rose DNA which is always gorgeous, it is such a fresh rose. I am forever grateful that the vanilla does not come through with her over-the-top sugary-foody sweetness, that would have killed it for me – I like to smell the roses and Chloé is queen! The vanilla kindly stays in the background rounding out the patchouli from over powering the rose! Beautiful fragrance!

For the second time, I fell in love with Chloe with this perfume. I first smelled the original Chloe Signature Eau de Parfum when I was sixteen, and this even rosier, more powdery, stronger version is even better. I got it for the tenth anniversary and I love the gold-plated bottle and the sparkly golden bow. To compare, I think the original Chloe is more woody and peppery, and this one is more earthy with patchouli, like the green leaves are still attached to the roses. I don't think the top of this one will tarnish because it has the gold plating to protect it.

Love it for work a feminine rose fragrance light but warm . Great for summer evening or a rainy day and day time in winter . I wear this if I want to feel clean and feminine and if I need a not in you’re face fragrance . I don’t know if I like it that my grandma love this sent . Because now I think it’s a little oldish . Stil a love . Reminds me of Mon Paris intensement and lazy Sunday morning and Burberry body , idole lintense

I was a die hard fan of the original Chloe EdP for many years, but it's been a while since then and, while I still love the smell of the original, it's just so EVERYWHERE... I smell it on the street, in the train, in the grocery store. You get the idea. Chloe Absolu offers me everything I used to love about the original, with a little something different. It's still obviously Chloe, but toned-down, warmer, smoother, deeper.

This scent is L O V E L Y. It has that typical chloe vibe but with a subtle hint of sweetness from the vanilla and the patchouli gives it some depth and some staying power. It reminds me of a luxurious expensive soap in a way... but in a good way. Gorgeous and inoffensive, perfect for everyday wear. The dry down is beautiful. I had a dream I smelled this. In my dream it was an extract of the original Chloe edp. Heavenly! If this smells like the one in my dream......oh sweet lord. I dreamt of another perfume as well but unfortunately dont remember which one. Who has ever dreamt of a perfume never smelled before in ́reality ́?

Rose is one of my least favourite notes, but I was so surprised when it smelt nothing like it. It smells like those conversation candy hearts, very sweet and elegant. It's long lasting and it's good for wearing during both day and night. One of my favourite designer perfumes.

This parfum has same DNA with the edp. Absolu had more rose and i like it so much. It reminds me of MFK A la Rose but richer. I love wearing absolu for daily activities. It's clean, fresh, and give me romantic mood. I like it much more than the edp.

This limited edition has some similarity to L'Eau de Chloe, which was already discontinued, because of the patchouli note. however, it lacks of that citrusy, refreshing vibe of L'Eau de Chloe in the top note.

I really liked it and will definitely buy a bottle. I am just wondering, who else noticed that this is how the interior of faceshop boutiques smell like??? It smells like an expensive soap or lotion.

I loveeee this rose patchouli vanilla fragrance.. the simple notes always facinate me.. it obviously has the DNA of edp original, but better in SPL..it's fresh, not sickeningly sweet & classy

Chloé Absolu de Parfum was the first designer fragrance that I bought so it has a special place in my heart. But i advise anyone who is interested in the brand Chloé to start off with the original EDP. I loved the EDP from the very first day so I blind-bought the Absolu after reading the reviews, many said that they are very similar. Now, I totally get the EDP DNA from this perfume. Sure, having both at the same time might be nonessential; however, even for an untrained nose like mine, they did not smell too similar. If you consider the original signature as a spring-summer perfume, you can think Absolu is the fall-spring version of it. The vanilla note might confuse some but it is definitely not sweet, on the contrary, it is still very fresh and much woodier than the EDP. Vanilla adds a deepness, a slight warmth to the perfume. If you don't like the patchouli note, I say stay away from this bottle, because the patchouli is prominent! The rose note is still the main character, though I think it gives off a more mature feel in Absolu. If you like EDP for the soapy white florals of it, you may not find Absolu very charming. Absolu is still a fresh scent, minus the very-soapy-feel from those white flowers. EDP is a safer blind buy and a safer gift, but I think Absolu is worth checking out, especially because everyone else also wears the original. Not that it is a bad thing, but if you want that tad of a difference, Absolu is the way to go.

The opening is absolutely intoxicating! I actually crave it, like someone who needs their fix! I'm not usually a fan of patchouli, but this has a very unique smell, softer in a way and (to me) a unique combination. Love the dry-down too. This is a very safe perfume to wear at work and on a daily basis, as it's very soft. I wouldn't really wear this going out in the evenings as ,sadly, I can't really smell it after a short while, so I keep overspraying. I don't know if others can smell me, but I really wished this would last longer, it's quite expensive and if I can't smell it on myself after 30 mins, it means I'll be going through bottles like no tomorrow - which I have, as I find the opening SO incredible - used up several bottles already, I have gone through 50 ml bottles in 2 weeks on average, so I really have to spray a lot to even have a soft sillage and feel like I'm actually wearing a perfume. I really wish Chloè would make a few stronger perfumes from the Signature line, as they are the most gorgeous scents ever. I use the L'eau and the regular Chloè EDP, both have better performance than the Absolu. But since I love the opening so much, I sometimes splurge even though I know I'll go through the bottles quickly!

Used to have a bottle of original edp which I really loved, and decided to repurchase. Got this one instead as many people say it's very similar, and the addition of vanilla seemed interesting as I am a vanilla lover. I don't have any of the original left for a side by side, but from memory it is extremely similar, but maybe a little deeper with the patchouli in the background. Cant identify any vanilla, really, but it's a great fragrance, and lasts a long time with good sillage!

This is a pretty and satisfying rose with adequate and reasonably unobtrusive support. My pithy summary of many reviews and I very much agree. I got it for a song and it's a nice alternative to Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose and Paul Smith Rose. It's a beautiful, long-lasting rose. On clothes it is permanent until washing. If I leave a shirt over a chair in a room I can smell it in the room for days.

This is a very nice evening fragrance. It does have some Chloe EDP DNA, but it's heavier and, first of all, much more earthy. In fact, it's all about rose and patchouli; I don't get any vanilla at all. Associations? A bit of F.Kurkdjian Lumiere Noire pour Femme, a bit of JHAG Lady Vengeance. Nothing groundbreaking and new, but still very classy and beautiful.

I like this. Not as much as the original Chloé. The opening is delightful. However, the dry down is lacking cohesion on my skin. Its not as intense as the original on me. It’s a nice fragrance. After using my bottle, I don’t think I will repurchase another .

Simple composition, linear - yet so beautiful. I cannot think of another perfume in which the patchouli fits better, than in this. Patch can be tricky for me, but in this fragrance I love it. Very versatile and great longevity. A gorgeous rose fragrance!

I originally purchased this as a "work fragrance," and I think it can be useful in that context, but it's also more versatile than that. This is, up front, a very simple but elegant rose. It doesn't feel like a particularly polarizing choice to me, nor is it overpowering in most cases (depending on how much you decide to spray and the size of the room you find yourself in, of course). The patchouli and vanilla facets of this fragrance are, if anything, supportive elements meant to boost longevity and balance things out -- for the most part, all I perceive is rose. (At times, it can become a powdery rose, but it's more powdery in the sense of "fresh/clean" than it is "vanillic" or "patchouli" in nature.) At the time of purchase (when this first came out), I needed to choose between this version (the Absolu) and the standard Chloe EDP; I sampled both, and this one won, as it felt *slightly* more rose-forward to me (*and* it sounded as though this was going to be some sort of limited-edition scent at the time... obviously, it was not, as it's still around). It can become a *bit* soapy at times (as could the original Chloe EDP), but it never escalated into, "Oh, my, I can't handle wearing this!" territory for me. Are there some people who don't like it? Sure... but there's always someone who doesn't like something, so... go with what suits your situation best.

As someone who loves rosey perfumes, I was impressed at the clean and sweet projection of rose. It didn't give that familiar scent of "an old lady's cardboard box of scented letters" dry down. However, the sweetness of Absolu is a little strong for me. Instead of Vanilla, I'm getting sweet, very ripe Lychee (probably the effect of creamy Vanilla layering with Patchouli). Some people might love that, but it may be a little too much for folks who lean towards black currants and sour berries as supporting notes for florals. My impression on the transition: Sweet Lychee upon the first spray, and then something very powdery and soapy kicks in, and then BOOM. Blooming sweet roses take over, with Patchouli and a slight hint of creamy Vanilla dancing in the background. Overtime, the rose scent becomes bolder, but without the sweetness leaving. Upon dry down, Patchouli and that soapyness dances alongside the rose, almost as if competing with it now. The finale is a sweet, powdery, and soapy floral which can be overwhelming for some folks who are used to more mature or more simple floral scents... Long story short, try mixing ripe lychee, soap, and roses, but not exactly in a bad way.

This was a blind buy and I'm just not too sure about it. I was hoping it would be like my original Chloe EDP with just warmth added from the patchouli and vanilla, but to my nose it's totally different, mostly on the dry down. The opening is similar. The dry down is still very spring like and fresh. I was hoping for something that smelled warm for fall. It also reminds me of Narisco Rodriguez just a little bit. I think that an autumn or warm version of Chloe EPD is the Chloe Sensualle, which I also own, so I think I am sending this Absolu back. I'll wear it again today and see how I feel about it. But I think I just love the original so much, it can't be beat. I may post a review update if I keep it. Update: I returned it. The patchouli was starting to be an overkill.

This is the only Chloe perfume I own. Initially I almost gave it away because the rose+patchouli combination smells a little bit old-fashioned to me. After trying it for a few times, I can appreciate the demure and feminine quality of this perfume. However, it is not very exciting to me and lacks a bit of character. It is long lasting but pretty linear on me. I use it when I just want to smell nice but am not in any particular mood for my other more exciting scents. EDIT: the fresh sweet quality of the rose (which reminds me of lychee, but lychee is not listed in its ingredients) comes forward a lot more as the weather gets warmer. In the colder months this perfume smells a bit "stale" but it comes to life much better in spring and summer.

Received a sample of this today — I checked the notes here before my first spritz and I was thoroughly surprised that I did NOT get any of the above. Instead I was met with the sweet, juicy scent of this lychee jelly I used to eat as a kid. I did a quick keyword search of the other reviews and found only two people mentioning lychee/litchi so this is a bit strange to me (plus Chloé is popular for their lychee notes so I’m so curious why it’s not on the list). Fruity lychee is cute but would I go for a full bottle of it? No, not really. 😆

Got this as an unfortunate mistake that I didn’t realize until it was too late. This smells just like patchouli like me. No rose, no vanilla, just patchouli. As someone whose chemistry doesn’t usually like patchouli, this is an ok patch, but it’s intense and I’m barely ever in the mood for it. I can appreciate it somewhat, even if it’s not very me.

Simple patchouli and rose. The patchouli is not earthy but a little sweet - which must be from the vanilla. The dry down is very reminiscent of Chloé ‘Love story’ than the original Chloé, probably because both Love story and absolu share a patchouli base. Still prefer the original edp as it’s much soapier and effervescent.

It was my go-to scent for university. I agree with the comment below! Safe choice for university, office etc. To me it's more like a rosy vanilla soap kinda scent.

On me, it resembles the insect repellent my children use. I was waiting for the scent to get better, then after an hour I realized even if it got better there was no way I was going to tolerate this smell ever again. I'm absolutely sure it's something to do with my chemistry, because it's truly terrible on me.

I find the majority of Chloe scents sharp and overpowering, burning my nose. This one is the ”winner”- straight up freshly sprayed windex. I cannot imagine how people manage to find a rose in this.

A lovely rosefragance. I get a lot of pepper on my skin. I love peppernote in parfums and here its great. Strong, bold, flirty, elegant. A must-try-scent.

Super perfume'y, soapy & ambery. Reminds me of a freshly mopped sterile floor, it's ok but it's just too much

Similar to EDP, but overdone. Creamy and thick. Base notes are not that bad though.

Idk I like the original more. This one is more old and boring.

I got a sample of this one, and as I expected is definitely not for me.. The listen ingredients are literally only rose and bit of patchouli that only intensify the fragrance. So this perfume is literally rose one, very strong and potent, project good but it has this super strong smell of roses which I very much dislike. If you like roses you wouldn't need more than one spray I feel like, this is how strong it is. But it has this retro roses smelling vibe, if you know what I mean. So this perfume is only for those of you, who like the smell of rose water and rose extract. DO NOT get it if you don't like roses, really. It's not sweet perfume, it's floral only. There is a bit of sweetness still, probably coming from the vanilla, but I can't distinguish vanilla scent per se. It's strong and longlasting one, no doubt. The patchouli I assume make it extra strong. The bottle looks nice. Sadly, not the perfume for me. I can see there is a trend with rose perfumes lately (let's not forget L'ancome Idole which is basically rose scent as well). I can't rate this one as particularly bad, considering roses aren't my thing, but it's too strong for the office imo, if someone around me wear it I might start coughing :D joke aside, but it's true.

I wanted to have a rose fragrance in my collection. I was close to blind purchasing this perfume and good thing I didn't! I tried this at store today. I'm a fan of patchouli fragrances. But all I'm getting from Chloé Absolu is a waft of sweet rose. It reminds me of the rose jam we eat in Ramadan in Iran. Smells exactly like the jam. 🙄😐😬 The longevity and sillage is strong tho. If you wanna smell like rose go for it. But this is not for me. گلاب دو آتیشه ی کاشان! دقیقا این بو رو میده.

I don't know why Chloé ply the strange practice of not putting the name of the perfume on the bottle itself. I also have an unfortunate habit of sometimes not fully lodging the name of the perfume in my mind when it's a non-distinctive one such "Chloe Eau de Parfum" or "Chloé Absolu de Parfum" Now I've got these two bottles of Chloé perfume that are identical in every respect, except that one has a darker-coloured liquid than the other. I got them both within a few months of each other also, so aging ought not to be an issue (I have read that vanilla can darken). Obviously the ultimate test is to spray a sample of one on one hand and the other on the other. So I do this ... and I find very little difference. But then some difference ... I think : possibly most who read this might realise that when the difference is only slight, and you are switching from one hand to the other, your mind can start playing tricks . And then I look them up on here and find that many say there is in fact very little difference between them! Well I'm fairly convinced that the lighter coloured one, which, judging by the pictures on here is Chloé Eau [dP] is sharper and crisper of aroma - in fact I thought it was actually a bit citrussy , and then a short while later slightly reminiscent of tea , which would actually be consistent with there being lily-of-the-valley in it and not in the other. The other - the darker-coloured one, which would be Chloe Absolu [dP] judging by the pictures on here has that greater warmth that would possibly be consistent with a patchouli note not present in the light-coloured one. I'm fairly satisfied, then, that I have managed to separate them wider than the spread in my perception due to the noise and the wishfulness - wishing them not to be duplicates - of my imagination. It doesn't help my detective work that clearly they are innately not very different fragrances. But I'm fairly convinced now that the lighter one is Chloé Eau de Parfum and the darker Chloé Absolu de Parfum . The respective colours of the liquid itself match the pictures on here extremely well, and it seems unlikely that manufacturing variations would account for so marked a difference. As for the fragrance itself: as has been stated often enough now, what can be said about both is about 90% of what can be said about either one separately. These are not my usual kind of fragrance - I tend to go for the heavier stonking kind - but I do like to rock one of these more breezy kinds of fragrance now-&-then. And these are fine examples of that genre: when I was taking deliberate deep draughts of them, they seemed not to have much body ... but the aroma kept intruding with really quite a deal of force as soon as my attention was elsewhere. I think some would say that that's what proper perfume does. And these have that Chloé signature to them: somehow it's the olfactory equivalent of polished marble ... can't say why in detail - they just do do that for me every time. Like in the railway-station lobby described near the beginning of Atlas Shrugged . And I think this would kind of suit Dagny Taggart ... if it were not of course for the fact that she would only wear something fabulously expensive!

Went to Sephora last night and tested this on the paper strip. 90% similarity to the Chloe Edp (Which Is My Love) but more earthy due to the patchouli and more warmer by the touch of vanilla. There something about the rose + patchouli mix that bothers my nose. It turns into a little mild sharp and that never happen to Chloe Edp Which why I Love Chloe Edp more. I was expecting this would have huge, gigantic projection but actually it's not. It's more intimate & sensual I must say. Longevity was good though. I will do further review after I buy the full bottle, because I think this review still not complete yet. I have to try it full spray on my chest, at the back of my neck & my lower back spine area. I do 3 spray practise to all perfumes to achieve the full effect of the perfumes and at the same time to stay balance so that I won't overspray. Edit On 20/12/2017 Okay i didnt manage to buy big bittle of this however i managed to have it tested on my skin twice from Sephora. I think i know already why im not going to buy this. Absolu has this patchouli right ? Which means it brings the earthy scent to it, but another big why i dont proceed to get this in 75ml big bottle was because it has sort of herbals hint come along with it. Unlike the Original EDP which has powdery fresh plus smooth hint of floral sweetness that I truly love and crazy about this absolu is more warm. It is smooth by the time it reach ths basenotes, but the herbal hint and a dash of bitterness is stopping me to get this.

I purchased a sample atomizer of Chloe Absolu after hearing about it on DemiRawling's channel (this was some time ago.) It is beautiful :) Stunning upgrade on the original Chloe (which I do like.) Retains some freshness of the original, but this is a rose in deep niche style, not too sweet to start - but the sweetness emerges. First, it's fresh and even sour. It keeps deepening into luscious red roses. The vanilla and patchouli bolster the rose, but don't override it. Good pillar rose fragrance, if you need a pure rose. I could see this one becoming a favorite rose for me. It sits closer to the skin, but when people come close to you, hug you, etc. they will smell it. Four of my girlfriends told me I smelled good when I wore this perfume to a lunch date. Perfect spring fragrance, fresh enough in the sun but sweet enough to withstand those chilly breezes.

This is just like the edp version. I would say that it is for collectors. I love the edp, and thie dry down is quite alike . I can smell a bit more woody note at the beginning, though. Then, it gets soapier, but it always reminds me of chloe edp (2008). I dont smell vanilla, nor patchouli. To me it is quite like the first version, and as I am a big fan, it was worth having this one. If you are a fan of the 2008 version, go for it. Always lovely, delicate and elegant. Not overpowering and suitable for work. Edit: wore it again on a spring day.... first time it was very cold. I can definitely smell a woody Chloe edp... ... more creamy and then, I smell a little bit of strawberries!! A tad of patchouli, but soooo discrete! No vanilla, again. But still dries down as the classic edp. I am so glad I bought it!

I want to say that it took me a year as purchasing and trying many different perfumes before I found my signature scent which was Chloe by Chloe. In my opinion that's the most beautiful smell on Earth. I just received this one today in the mail and it is very very close to Chloe by Chloe. It smells a little bit more floral and a little bit less soapy then Chloe by Chloe. If you have one of these you don't need the other really unless you want to have everything that Chloe puts out because he loved it so much like myself. Even a slight deviation from Chloe by Chloe is something I would definitely purchase because of my love for Chloe. This is not only a beautiful smell but it also last a very long time on the skin. I put it on this morning about 10 a.m. and its almost 5 and I can still smell it.
