Chloé Eau de Parfum

Alright, Y'all, story time. So I'm in Sephora one day, probing almost every bottle on their shelf (a typical Sunday morning). This particular Sephora is on a busy street, you know, and happens to be in a very "luxurious" area of the city. Look our the window and you see things like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Gucci stores, Dolce and Gabbana, Escada...you get it, it's THAT part of town where everybody is busy and no one is underdressed. And there was me in my Sunday sweatpants. So I was minding my own business, lost in the perfume world, and this lady comes in. Her heels were the loudest in this quiet store, she's wearing Leopard fur, with her Louis Vuitton handbag in one hand and another Louis Vuitton shopping bag the size of my fridge in another, strutting her way down the aisle, straight to the perfume section. She was maybe about 50, heavily perfumed, gold hoop earrings, about 20 rings on each finger. Her liquid lipstick smudged under her chin and she almost slips on the tile, letting out a dainty little "oh!" as she stumbled. ....and then she asks the sales girl standing behind me for Chloe. Chloe! CHLOE! Chloe - the epitome, the definition of young, modern, femininity. I stood a little off to the side as the girl found that precious little tester for her. The bottle was all cute and done up with its bow, pink and graceful. And I hear them talking loudly, Oh, no nononono, I want the biggest bottle that you have... This is the biggest bottle, ma'am, the biggest one we have... But THANK YOU LADY. She drew my attention to the bottle, I don't think I had smelled Chloe before. I was thinking to myself, what in the hell does Chloe smell like? Because when someone heads with such determination to the perfume shelves and asks for one in particular you have never smelled before, you will definitely be curious. Chloe smells like first love. Maybe she was the girl in your class, your lab partner, your crush. Maybe she was your first kiss. Maybe she was the biggest deal at school. Its a delicate little floral scent that just embodies happiness. And then I realize, maybe Chloe is one of those perfumes that is genuinely made for everybody - because it has that curious ability to take you back, back, and way back, to that wonderful time, whichever moment it may be for you, when joy was all you knew. I just thought, you know, in this downtown area, when everybody's walking pace is twice of mine, ladies with their feet aching in heels, eyes glued to their phones, black tote bags, where skyscrapers dominated and cars honked - maybe Chloe is all these ladies needed. To remind them of young, carefree days in the meadows. Mind you, that lady walked out with three of the biggest bottles of Chloe (and almost slipped again). I hope that lady wears her Chloe well. I hope it gives her as much happiness as it gives me. And I hope it reminds her of her first kiss, just like how I am reminded.

First off, I am so sick of perfume snobs leaving negative reviews about perfumes because they smell too "clean" or "common" or this or that. I can almost sense their noses being stuck up in the air while I read their reviews. I know everyone is allowed their opinion on here, but c'mon people, do we really all have to smell like $250 L'eau d'Oud of Silver Tibetan Unicorn Butts? Ok, now that that's out of the way, my review for this perfume... Chloe is the most expensive bar of soap I have ever purchased (lol). No, but really, this is an aggressively clean, soapy rose-like scent that is great for extremely hot days (like we have here in Southern California). It will have you smelling like you just took a shower ALL DAY. Yes, all day, because Chloe is the longest lasting perfume that I own. It will stay on clothes for literally days, and I wish all of my perfumes lasted this long! I don't care what kind of possibly toxic ingredients are in this perfume to make it last forever, I am just glad that a perfume still exists that doesn't disappear after 2 minutes (yeah, I'm talking about you L'Artisan). So what if I may smell "common" and/or too "clean" to certain individuals, and my perfume might be worn by a neighbor, and Chandler Burr hates it (the dude loves Tommy Girl, one of the most "common", "clean" scents ever made). Perfume is supposed to be fun, not an "I am better than you because I shop at Luckyscent" soap opera drama revolving around a perfume caste system. So, if you love extremely clean, soapy rose scents, Chloe is for you. Just beware of perfume snobs who smell like L'eau d'Oud of Silver Tibetan Unicorn Butts, they may not like it. ;0 Lastly, out of all the perfumes and oils I own, my fiancé has chosen this as his recent favorite. Why? Because he says that it smells like a "clean, fresh woman." I don't choose my perfumes based on what men like, but there you go - proof that men love this perfume, if you care about stuff like that!

chloe is very pretty, clean rose floral. the cedar note is what grounds this scent from being too one-note rose water. on me, chloe is very grounded and comforting. i can count on it to be a very stable performing scent as well. something i throw on when i dont wanna offend anyone around me and wear a white fitted cardigan and a long, flowy skirt, ill spray this and layer it with something cute like BBW sweetest song or glossier you to make it smell like me on steroids. i usually dislike white florals because they wear very screechy and loud on me, but chloe is very soft and balanced and does not overwhelm my natural scent. i feel like i can throw this on in the office and people will be like, awww you smell nice today darling. there are some floral perfumes that ppl wear in the office where im like damn i dont wanna smell this rn... but chloe is fine. shes not bothering anyone <3 definitely safe year-round, wouldnt reach for it at night but you could if you wanted to! also i think this would be very good as a going-to-meet-partner's-family scent.

A modern classic! Dewy, fresh, clean, pink florals perfect for springtime. Chloe was my wedding scent many years ago and I always enjoy revisiting it this time of year. This scent profile really is timeless and continues to inspire modern interpretations like Delina La Rosee, Lust in Paradise and Power Self, among others. Out of those I listed, I think Chloe is the cleanest and most transparent, but also the simplest. I always feel sophisticated, fresh and feminine when I wear this. It’s girly but serious at the same time; like something you wear to church or to meet the parents. Chloe has excellent performance and leaves a distinct trail as you move. Even though I don’t reach for this scent profile every day, I’ll always have Chloe in my collection because it still holds up. I got this as a gift from my aunt in vacation and this is the one of the rare big bottles I finished. Without knowing anything about it, I started to wear it in this windy and cold spring day, in a village at the top of a big mountain. It smelled so ethereal and beautiful, calm but alive with the crisp mountain air. So looking at the comments about this beauty people tend to say its safe and boring, soapy and demure etc. but without conceptualizing the scent and smelling as is, it has a otherworldly quality to it. You know, if you smell it on your mother or an colleague it would smell just good, but this is a beast waiting to be wake up, on open air settings on the right people. So I definitely recommend to ethereal floral lover girlies to give this a chance when you go hiking on a crisp day.

I have to laugh at myself. Because if there were ever perfumes that I never smelled, but still knew they were them and hated them, they were two - Chloé EDP and Armani Sí EDP. Now they are my loves - both. About Sí in different review. Chloé is a beautiful sparkling rose, peony and lychee scent. But I started with the Chloé de Roses variant and then switched to the Chloé EDP version. It is a fresh spring and summer scent with quite a long lasting and projection into the surroundings - so it is better not to overdo it with the application. If it fits with your skin musk, it is an experience :-) for the nose (in a good way). In winter it is too cold for me, but it evokes beautiful summer memories. I liked the old 75 ml bottle with the metal on top.

Couldn't resist getting a full size after years of gravitating towards it in Sephora. This paints the image of a fresh college graduate about to start her new career chapter - something about an inner youthful quality enveloped in a maturing exterior. Opens with a powdery rose (strong in EDP, very subtle in rollerball), then over time dries down to a more youthful, fruity lychee indeed. I tested this at 2pm and could still smell where it transferred over to my shirt the next day, with decent sillage at that point too! Not exactly sure what people find sharp - could just be the florals, as they do come off strong in the topnote. If you give it a chance to dry down I personally prefer the following fruity accord more :) .

I used to be into really sweet overpowering gourmand fragrances. However since I've given birth a number of years ago my nose cant handle gourmand anymore and I prefer lighter sophisticated scents. This is one of them. The perfume is lovely, very light, classy, the white floral notes are quite strong in this one. Not sickly but a perfect concentration to be noticeable but not enough to induce a headache. Sillage I'd describe as "delicate" - you can smell when one is wearing it, however its not overpowering. Very pretty, elegant fragrance. I wear it for all seasons during the year as its not overpowering. The best way to describe it is "fresh" and "classy".

I first encountered the fragrance in 2013: I was at some in-person perfume swap, and a girl gave me a miniature to test. For several years, it became my signature scent: even though I always used a maximum of two sprays, people would compliment me on it. Everyone noticed it—including people from the LGBTQ+ community, who called it the best fragrance they had ever smelled. Time passed, and I switched this fragrance for Delina, because it's a scent in a similar vein. But somehow, Chloe is still better; Delina is more intrusive and cloying. To be honest, I'm thinking about bringing it back into my collection, while this masterpiece is still in production.

My,My, My... little Ms. Chloe is absolutely beautiful. With notes of peony, lily of the valley, magnolia, lichi, freesia and rose, this is a floral lover’s dream. It’s really clean, soft and feminine. I feel so girly and pretty when I wear it. I love a nice floral fragrance and this one does everything it was made to do. The rose note is what I smell the most. One sniff and you’ll swear you’re carrying a bouquet of red roses. This fragrance is really gorgeous. Great projection and sillage. If you love a well done rose perfume, I highly recommend this bottle of juice.

AHHHHHH I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE SO MUCH. The peony and rose are blended together perfectly. Usually I hate lychee notes, but in Chloe, it works. The florals are not sweet or cloying at all. In fact, there is a very interesting and rather unique freshness to this scent that I have yet to encounter in other rose type floral fragrances. The drydown does not disappoint. The opening is light, sweet, sparkling. Over time, the perfume softens and develops into a gentler, less strong floral mix. The scent never loses its complexity. Becoming my signature scent. 10/10

My childhood best friend's mom wears this perfume, and I was so enamored with it I asked her about it once and she ran out of the car to get the bottle and show me. It's still so nice, definitely strong on the rose, as well as the perfumey lychee. I feel like it's sort of champagne-y, too. It's so nice, but I don't think it could ever be my signature scent; it's sweet and bright and perfumey, but I feel like it's always going to suit a clean-cut, put-together, feminine office worker (like my friend's mom), and I need something a little grungier.

I love this scent so much😍 It's feminine and fresh with a beautiful rose note. At the end of the day it gets more powdery and soapy, it's just beautiful. Despite being quite a fresh perfume, it lasts very nicely on me, 9+ hours. It lasts even longer on clothes, even after days, I can smell it on my scarf. It's the perfect everyday scent for spring and summer. The projection is not huge, more like a scent bubble around you, which makes it ideal for the office. It is such an easy reach for everyday and a classic for good reason.🌸

This perfume was my daily perfume throughout high school. My first "big girl" purchase and one I hold very close to my heart. I have revisited this scent many times since then and it remains just as beautiful. The opening notes of lychee and freesia are prominent but not overwhelming. The dry down into the rose and magnolia in particular is my favorite combination. I find that I don't smell the base notes much, maybe it just doesn't last as long on me. But this will always be one of my favorites that reminds me of my youth.

MY ALL TIME FAV!! it’s so so good and my signature perfume recently 😫 I really enjoy the clean peony notes that to my nose smell a bit watery, combined with the sweet notes of rose and lychee. The lychee here, in my opinion, smells very juicy, fresh, and sweet which I love. To me, it smells very sweet and clean. Also smells shampoo-like, which I also enjoy very much! It’s not a traditionally “soapy” scent. Like I said, it’s sweet, fresh, clean, juicy (prob from the lychee) and very youthful to my nose. It’s my go to perfume

Longevity and Sileage tends to be a probably with freshies but not with this bad boy! The perfume embodies pure class and elegance in a bottle. Tennis bracelet aesthetic. The fragrance easily lasts 6-7 hours on my skin and lasts quite a while on clothes. Even though the fragrance definitely contains rose it is not a rose-forward scent... the scent reminds of the cleanest bubble bath that is also slightly sweet. Not a rotten egg smell or cleaning supplies like DG light blue! Old money/chic aesthetic personified in a perfume.

So pretty and elegant! It's light, airy and clean rose with a peppery second shelf to the initial smell, and dries down to a beautiful, gentle floral bubble of a bed of mixed petals. Initial spray creates a slightly sharp (like when you crush a rose petal, that slightly bitter juice, not that there's any bitterness in Chloé at all!) scent cloud extending maybe a metre and a half and recedes to a closer, more "polite" projection range and lasts roughly 7 hours on my skin.

This is the first “serious” perfume I bought and what got me hooked into fragrances. I never paid attention to fragrances before, but after finishing my master studies I thought I’d treat myself to something new and nice. Bought this alongside LVEB, and i was instantly in love. It is lovely, dainty, feminine. It is powdery which I don’t mind, and I can’t imagine not having this again. I’ve been trying other flankers since and i feel like it can never go wrong.

I've never had as many compliments with any other perfume than with this. I was stopped twice at work and asked about it. Other colleagues said when I entered meetings my perfume was in the air and loved it. One of them asked to show her the exact bottle which I shared a picture of and told me she'll buy it 100%. I have 120 bottles, this never happened before. It's a classic feminine floral perfume but not really in your face hence my shock for Its impact 😄

Delicate powdery rose, gives a romantic and soft feeling, like expensive french soap you buy in a luxury store in Paris. Light notes of fresh fruite, something airy and light that adds delicate sweetness to the floral notes. I rediscovered this fragrance after years of not touching it, and now it's my most used bottle. I find it a significantly weaker than I remember, so I kind of have to spray a lot, but other than that I think it's perfect.

Ah the nostalgia! I've never worn this before, but recognised it straight away. It took me straight back to a very happy time in my life when I used to live in London, had money for the first time and everything was new and exciting. Someone in my friendship group must have worn this as it smells so familiar. Nostalgia aside, this a beautiful, feminine, radiant scent and it has such a positive and happy vibe. I must get myself a bottle.

It feels very dainty. It has that floral powdery finish that smells clean and light. Personally, it's sophisticated, so not really for daily wear. But I'd wear this when I want to feel special like a fancy event or a luxurious date. It's best spring or winter. I feel like it's too heavy for a summer feel. Lasting wise, I can't really smell it on my skin after a few hours. So average longevity.

Just beautiful. I suppose that I'm somewhat biased because this was my first 'big girl' perfume, but WOW. It's like slipping into a gorgeous paradise of fruit and flowers, so gentle and subtle and everything you could want from a floral scent <3 there's a bouncy, youthful airness to it that feels so endearing and feminine! But it can be worn both playfully and elegantly. Just delicious.

this is a beautifully clean, elegant rose floral. it's slightly watery, airy and fresh with peony and lily of the valley giving it a soft, powdery cleanliness that never turns sweet ^-^ ☁️🌷 it's feminine and effortlessly put together, my go-to when i don't know what to wear. longevity isn’t the strongest but the scent itself is so lovely and comforting that i don’t mind reapplying 💕

a really pretty fresh floral, a clean girl’s holy grail for sure. the composition creates a veil of watery flowers on my skin as if i just stepped out of the shower, none of the notes really stands out too much on me but its not a problem at all. a very charming, put together, polite and tender scent for all the delicate girlies who don’t want to go the sensual gourmand route!

juicy fruity rose! this perfume is what i love in scents. it's sweet without being cloying. chloe is a very feminine scent that opens with juicy lychees and berries and dries into a light airy rose. very clean but still sweet smelling! this perfume is so lovely and feminine, i will definitely buy this once i've used up some of the perfumes i already own.

The very perfume that made me fall in love with clean, floral scents. I have been wearing it on/off since I was 14 and am still so in love with it. I have gotten stopped on the street wearing it and get compliments all the time. It is a wonderful and classy scent that I wear to the office. I have loved this perfume for a long time. On my skin, it's one of my truest roses, but because of the great blend, the cedar doesn't turn screechy on me (which is rare). If anything, this one turns quite spicy on me, which makes it feel sexier, while still being professional and clean. I will repurchase this for as long as they keep this formula.

Chloe is the true queen of florals and I love her for that. ̊˖𓍢ִ໋❀ This perfume smells like spring to me. It's an ultra-feminine, aquatic rose with a detergent-like quality. However... I don't mind that at all. I actually think it's one of the reasons I enjoy it so much, hah! It's really clean and really girly. It makes me feel comforted and happy. Love love love it! ̊˖𓍢ִ໋❀

This is so beautiful. It reminds me of French rose soap in the best way possible. It has something comforting in my memory. Like the rose soap in an all pink bathroom that was not for use but decorative use only in the 90's. Lychee gives a slight fruity tartness that gives a twang to add some sweetness to the rose.

I keep seeing screechy, chemical, and soapy thrown around to describe Chloe EDP, and they're -- right. These, however, are exactly why I love Chloe. It reminds me of the chemical cleaner they use in nice hotels. Sharp, almost astringent; and floral but in the literal sense of the word. Flower in the wild. LOVE HER!

For a designer fragrance this slaps. This is a beautiful soft rose, fresh floral fragrance. It does kind of smell like a rosey out of the shower soap/bath scent. But it lasts all day. I get a lot of compliments when wearing this. You can’t go wrong. It’s affordable, smells fresh and feminine and lasts all day!

Shampoo rose, if you want a perfume to tandem with that billion year old Clairol shampoo. 👀 Got samplers of it as a gift with purchase, it has its place in the toilet at the nurse's lounge at my workplace to spray off patient stench from our bodies. No patient or watcher has complained of smelling it though. 🤭

Super pretty clean floral. Quite sharp and tangy to my nose but also refreshing. It smells like a classic perfume you'd find sold over and over for decades. It smells like a shampoo, rosy. Lytchee smells similar to roses and has that soapy profile as well. Easy to wear for any age and season.

how do i even say this lol i love my fiance and im rly rly sad and nostalgic but i hope for a new month to come and autumn to embrace the whole city so i can feel better and we can try again also he gifted me this with a sad note and i am beginning to feel like i cant ever live without him

Similar to the reviewer below me, I wear this when I want to be respectful of other's noses. It's my office perfume in spring and summer and always gets me compliments. Very long lasting with soft projection but a lasting village. Reliable compliment getter if you like this scent profile.

Favorite scent of all time. To me, this smells soft, clean and fresh. It’s deep but also light. I could wear it to work and also a wedding. An ideal signature scent thats perfect for layering I love this perfume so much It truly evokes such strong feelings of joy and calmness for me.

This was my first big girl perfume. A few of my friends in my senior year of high school gifted this for me. I had it from 2015-2019 I think. I still remember this scent, it's this yummy powdery scent, flowery and just a nice clean scent. One spray in the office should be enough!

Genuinely perplexed by the person below who called this "poopy and unclean" - I would say this is a super clean, rich rose-y scent that is super nice for daytime. A safe option, not revolutionary by any means. But I really enjoy it. The fruit notes carry it hard for me actually.

I cannot believe that this fragrance is considered as "outdated" or "old ladyish". This perfume is a masterpiece of the 21st century that exudes "new generation" vibes. It was my signature fragrance from 2008 - 2013 and is a keeper in my collection. Love it, love it, love it!

I love this one - my very first perfume, gifted by my dad when I was 18. Has strong sentimental value to me and strongly defined my love for floral perfumes. It lasts long, and for me personally, it left quite a trail - on clothes, in hair, and even in pillows where I slept.

This classic soapy rose will always be in my collection. Even in the heatwaves we’re suffering in Europe, it gives me clean ‘right out of the shower’ vibes. It’s a crispy, luminous, super feminine scent for all seasons but especially fresh in the summer heat.

Ironically enough I got a sample of this after some months of unconsciously thinking "hmm, is there any perfume that smells like this shampoo (herbal essences rose petal soft scent, to be specific) out there? And yes, there is. And it's this one.

This is very beautiful and very unique. It’s almost impossible for anyone to mistake this for another fragrance. Such a great choice for signature scent. It was my signature scent as a teenager and to this very day I love it very much.

One of my signature scents! Elegant, fresh and floral. Even though it gives more of a daytime and summer-spring feel, I think it is suitable for every occasion. The only thing I don't like is the sharp smell when you first spray it.
