Chloé L'Eau de Parfum Lumineuse

The saleswoman at the Chloe-Counter told me that this perfume would contain a lot more notes, especially Orange Blossom and Magnolia. I thought, she was maybe confusing it with another fragrance from the Signature line. Nevertheless, I did a skin test that evening. When I woke up next morning, these two notes were exactly what was left on my skin: Orange Blossom and Magnolia with an amber backbone and only a tad of vanilla. That made it much more interesting! I did the test again, and while I am recovering from Covid, I can smell it now also in the top notes: Orange Blossom, Magnolia and Mandarin! It evokes the image of an amber colored light - so it is "lumineuse" for me, even a bit glowing. To sum it up, this evokes Christmas feelings for me. Yes, it has a *very* pronounced amber note that you have to like to enjoy this perfume. And of course, I know that it contains ambrox. But if I can forget that fact for one minute, I don't sense it as amber, but as a woody scent that is full of fir resin. Together with the Orange smell in the top note, it gives this christmas feeling. Smells like preparing the Christmas tree with my father, while Mum fills up our plates with mandarin oranges; she is wearing her holiday fragrance. Oh, happy memories🌟. So, some good and simple joy in the designer segment, that has a bit of an edge, enough to keep the interest going.

My most recent 10/10 fragrance - I love it! First of all, this perfume is really well-balanced between the sweet and the balsamic notes, which makes it really interesting. To me, it comes off as a pretty sharp jasmine scent at the start, but after just two minutes on the skin, it softens up to this perfectly sweet, romantic, floral scent, but with a twist. I really do think that the balsamic notes and amber is crucial for this to be a 10/10 for me, otherwise it probably just would’ve been like any other floral fragrance. But the depth that those notes creates are just addictive to my nose. The sillage here is STRONG! Maybe not THE strongest ever but definitely stronger that your avarage sweet floral perfume. A bonus for me is that it also last for about 8+ hours on my skin (amber usually does that for me, fortunately)! Last of all, I agree with everyone saying that this is a ”unique vanilla” or that it has ”a hint of vanilla”, because it’s not straight forward vanilla in any way, which to me is good. My boyfriend, who does NOT like vanilla perfumes, loves this one on me and says it’s one of my best perfumes!

This website is getting ridiculous every day. And the quality of fragrance discussions online has been declining lately. Basic perfumery terms are often misused, leading to confusion rather than meaningful critique. Trolls and inexperienced commenters distorting fundamental perfumery knowledge - simply because they can write anything without any editorial standards or oversight- are ruining everything. Balsamic notes do not smell like vinegar. *face palm*. End result: AI chooses misguided comments and labels them as cons. Empty waffling. This is a creamy, sweet, warm ambery rose and jasmine fragrance. Imagine Montale’s Roses Vanille without the musk, but with lush jasmine flowers and a richer amber accord. I also detect hints of Amber Xtreme or an Ambroxan-type molecule contributing to its Baccarat Rouge–esque effect, along with hedione- making this one truly lumineuse 👌🏻 Perfect for fall and winter. Not really a summer fragrance as sweet rose compositions can turn sour in high heat. Strong love 🌹

I've never been wowed by a Chloe fragrance before, though I've thought some were nice. This morning I was browsing the Penhaligon and Creed counters at a department store that doesn't exist where I live, and someone came to give me this sample card from the Chloe counter. I was certainly wowed by this one. After leaving the store, I was still sniffing the card so I went back to try it on my skin, and tonight I bought the travel spray (to fit better on the plane). After a couple of hours it became a skin scent that I still smell, after just 1 spritz to the wrist. It was very beautiful in the beginning with notable florals, the rose was refreshingly blended with the jasmine and didn't get into the territory of "stuffy tea room with prim old ladies." The warmest vanilla that almost has a sandalwood quality is still lingering 10 hours later. For comparison, I did test Luna on the other wrist and this outlived it by a long shot.

A big like at first sniff and a positive surprise. It immediately brought a smile to my face. I like it so much because it's quite different from the original Chloe that I was never a fan of. It's Chloe for those who don't like the Chloé-like florals. How does it smell? Based on the name, I was expecting something more light and effervescent, but it turned out to be something different and better than what I expected. It is more of a sweet, warm floral. Well-rounded. The drydown is lovely - sweet, honey-like, in an almost syrupy way, but still bright enough. Think of a sun in a leisurely afternoon in the late summer and warm air near a fragrant garden of flowers. I would wear it anywhere in early spring or late summer, day or evening, low humidity weather. Among my top 2 scents from this line, next to Chloé Intense Natural Rose. Well done.

This is perfect for what it is, a light and clean fragrance, a little warm and sweet. I like a clean or light fragrance that can pull off not smelling like soap or detergent. This does not have massive sillage or projection, but I can smell it on clothes for days. I would think it would be hard to offend anyone with this. I cannot stand the peony note in the original Chloe, it smells putrid to me. This has a more effervescent feel than the original, but of course, it is much lighter in general. Nice to own, easy reach, girly, nothing WOW, but sometimes a simplistic fragrance is great. Edit 06/2025: This has sat now and had time to macerate and I would say effervescent is no longer a fitting description, it’s a little scratchy and sweet. Reminds me of kettle corn at a fair. Summer nights. Still very light but distinct.

This reminds of a lot of the current sweet white florals perfumes in the market something like Jimmy Choo I want choo but much less synthetic and more delicate . This is white florals with a sweet vanilla base . I definitely smell something slightly fruity at first spray as well . This is very sexy and feminine nothing ground breaking but still nice . If you like sweet white florals but want something less synthetic and made with more natural ingredients this is a good one . I got myself a full bottle of this one . The bottle is beautiful too. Update: just wanted to say that I absolutely love this . I think it’s because of the natural ingredients but when you splash this on your skin it feels so delicate like it blends with your skin . Besides that it also smells very sexy ! Need a back up bottle asap

I love this! I got a sample with a purchase from Sephora and immediately fell in love. It definitely reminds me of Devotion by Docle&Gabanna BUT it’s better. Devotion smells great but had this sharp almost off putting chemical note that made me hesitate to buy the full size. This Chloe perfume fixed that!! It is everything I wanted from devotion but better. Definitely sweet (think like a candied orange with ambery/vanilla). I’m not sure which note makes it so zesty, fresh, and edible smelling... maybe it’s that balsamic note with the amber/vanilla that lends it to being almost fruity?! It is light and doesn’t project far from the body. On me it lasts like 5-6 hours. This is the perfect bright day to night spring/summer smell. I could imagine wearing it on a date!

This perfume is so delicious. It’s creamy, sweet, and a little bit musky to the skin. I can see why on some people this might be too sweet or could smell very powdery, but for me it smells so so pretty, and I can’t help but continuously smell my skin when I put it on, which lasts a very long time. When I put it on in the morning I find that it lasts into the next day and melts into a skin scent but better. It’s definitely a more intimate scent where someone has to be next to you to smell it, but for me, that’s what makes it a great every day perfume! Absolutely in love with this perfume as a girl really trying to embrace my femininity more. Highly recommend if you want to smell pretty and sweet but not sickeningly so!

Such a safe bet perfume , it smells so good and so feminine. Sephora gifted me a sample size and I loved it so much that I asked my dad to get me a bottle of it. I've tried original Chloe , which wasn't bad, and I literally cannot trust someone who genuinely thinks the original is better than this version. This one is so fresh yet so warm it is sweet yet not sugary. Perfect for late teenage to early/middle adulthood in the most elegant way possible. It might be boring to use for some however this doesn't mean they won't like it on other people therefore this fragrance can easily be considered as a universally pleasant fragrance. Also, it stays on me for a day, and it stays on my clothes for DAYS which is always nice

Just an addition to my former review: my husband complimented me several times on this one, maybe it's my most complimented fragrance by him. To my surprise, he doesn't perceive the amber/balsamic notes as sweet or as thick/buttery, but as "maritim/marine". He really said: "How fresh you smell, like Venus coming from the sea." Maybe it's a very individual experience with this one. I also think, the sillage smells quite different compared to the smell close to skin. In the sillage, it remains (sweet) Orange blossom, Rose, Jasmin and Magnolia to my nose, close to skin it's all about amber. The whole is more than the sum of its parts, and I'm happy that there is no hype on this one, so it kind of belongs to me 😉.

So friggin' pretty. I let my bottle sit for a couple of weeks due to being shipped in freezing temps and I'm so glad that I did. When I sprayed it again, I first recognized the infamous Chloe DNA. There is certainly an effervescent feel when you first spray, but as it begins to settle the jasmine and amber come to the forefront and that's when I swoon. It's the same jasmine note used in Nomade Jasmine Naturelle. I wouldn't call this a linear fragrance as it takes you on a journey throughout the wear. I found myself constantly smelling my arms with anticipation of what I was going to smell next. It's a LOVE!!!!

Both not what I expected and then exactly what I expected! It's beautiful, well-rounded and creamy once it settles. It has a very fresh, tart opening, almost citrusy that quickly settles into blissful sweetness (maybe the opening is the lumineuse part?). Sillage is moderate, but longevity is actually pretty good and above average. It's nothing like the original, and I barely get any rose in this one, but it's delightful - and really shines on cool, crisp autumn days. I blind bought this, and consider it's pretty safe for blind buying, but then again I've yet to encounter a Chloé perfume that I don't care for.

What a surprise this one was! I didn't even see the news in the summertime of it coming but few weeks ago was in my local perfume shop and was confused to see it- so of course I tried it..next thing I did was purchase it! This is my first Chloe fragrance but not the first one on my ’want list.’ I love how versatile it is, literally wearable every season, every occasion or time of day. Light, ambery and fun would be the three words for this fragrance. Every single note is out and noticeable and all of them suit together. A huge pluss is how long-lasting it is, even after 5+ hours.

From the bottle and first application i find this scent overbearing and too sour (balsamic). Sort of harsh... But after the dry down it transforms into a beautifully nuanced sweet floral, with some shy hints of vanilla. Very pleasant and totally worth the wait. I wear this on days where i'm not afraid to be myself. This fragrance is the goody-two-shoes, innocent girl next door. A scent anyone would turn their heads for after smelling it as the prettiest girl with the prettiest curls passes. Too predictable to be "cool", but nuanced enough to be memorable.

This is really the most comforting, warm, soft fragrance I've ever tried and it's my absolute first love. It's sweet, juicy, floral and it gives this warmed clean skin feeling. It has indeed a bit of a pineapple effect and it's very nice, a sweetness that seems natural, familiar. It's really really pleasant and as with all Chloé perfumes, it stays high quality on the skin, it doesn't get flat, it keeps all the good things till the end. A must try, especially for people who like a simple, delicate and reassuring fragrance.

Oh man I tried this on a whim at Sephora yesterday, was NOT expecting to fall so hard, I had to have it, I was so sad to leave it there (cus fk paying retail lol). Can’t even remember what I smelled. I had zero clue about what the notes were. I just knew I had that OMG I MUST HAVE IT reaction and took a pic so I wouldn’t forget how much I loved it. I don’t like this bottle design though. The bottle is all glass, no kitschy rusting metal cover on top. The ribbon is almond beige with red stitching. Ugly, sorry.

This is absolutely beautiful to me, but you have to love amber for this fragrance. For me, this is an upgrade from the original which is very soapy. I agree with another previous reviewer that there is nothing light or luminous/sparkly to me about this fragrance (to my nose). This is a sweet resinous amber with a hint of floral. My only complaint is that I wish there was just a bit more rose in this fragrance. The rose is very much in the background but that doesn't take away from its beauty.

This as if bubble bath by margiela and versace bright crystal had a baby. The first whiff is citrusy a bit ( but not lemony, more of like floral citrus), then kicks the jasmine. Its very very soapy, creamy and the vanilla kicks in later on. smells like that shea butter dove soap bar!!!! Its perfect for spring and summer ( not super hot days) I can totally see it being someone's signature scent, but unfortunately the lasting power is weak. 3 hours pass and I cant smell it on my wrist anymore

A light floral perfume with a bit of sourness. It could easily be a signature scent.It can be used everday and every season. It’s very clean and calm. Longevity is about 4-6 hours on me. Sillage is moderate. Biraz ekşilik barındıran, hafif çiçeksi bir parfüm. Kolayca imza parfüm olarak kullanılabilir. Her gün ve her mevsim kullanıma uygun. Temiz ve sakin bir parfüm. VERY underrated offering from Chloé in my opinion. it has none of the screechy top notes of the rest of the Chloés i have tried. Soft and clean jasmine opening and balsamic, ambery vanilla that lasts a while and dries into a sweet "your skin but better" type scent. it has a sweetness that is almost strawberry-like? i love it, i'm eating through my samples quickly as its an easy reach for summer days in the office. It's clean and girly and is easily layerable.

This new flanker of Chloe has nothing to do with the original and reminds me more of Good Girl by Carolina Herrera although à little bit softer. The jasmine really sparkles and even if not mentionned in the ingredients there seem to be some citruses which add freshness. I can also smell the vanilla and amber which make it soft and creamy. A very enjoyable and sparkly perfume, which sends good vibes. Very easy to wear and pleasant. I recommend it!

I think this is definitely one of my top 5 of all times! I love how feminine and delicate that is, when i smell it i feel like im in paris walking down the street with a bouquet of flowers i just bought wearing a flowy dress and the sun is gently striking my face. First i smell most the white floral with the powdery notes, after it sits on my skin for about an hour the vanilla note rises and im in love

such a beautiful ambery vanilla, doesnt go the sweet gourmand route. very warm and calming, sometimes i get an almost milky nuance on this creamy fragrance. the florals are playful and very much in the background for me, they appear blurred and somewhat fruity but on a lovely way that truly makes this a unique vanilla! natural, long lasting, polite sillage, just go on and enjoy the comforting cocoon.

This is a beautiful scent. I was captivated by the combination of jasmine and vanilla. Honestly I can't really tell apart the jasmine from the rose as both floral notes seem to meld together seamlessly into a fresh, sweet smelling bouquet. I also detect a hint of lychee, which just makes the combo even more delectable. It's a very feminine and pretty scent, more suitable for spring/summer.

This is just a beautifull scent. A creamy warm and soft vanilla that lingers all dag close to the skin. Longlivity is great. Think its best cooler weather as the vanilla night get too powering during hot summer days but havent tested it. It stands out from Chloe caus the other perfumes of this brand are not my taste at all. This is beautifull though.

A truly sweet floral! It leans toward the sweet side rather than the white floral. But believe me that everything is just the right amount. I do not get why people says it is similar to BBW's Velvet Sugar of D&G's devotion. It does not. The former smells cheap and the latter is smoky. This is way better in terms of formality and maturity.

One of the best fragrances I have ever had and one of the best fragrances that Chloe ever made! Smell with natural components, nothing head ache inducing! Feminine, lovely odour, expensive, lux, bright, crispy, sensual! Big plus also and ingredients- they are all safe for health, there is no chemicals like many other perfumes have.

Chloe Lumineuse is gorgeous. I detect mandarin or something tropical (guava?) in the opening then of course Jasmine, alittle rose and vanilla. It’s a sweet vanilla floral perfume. It lasted all day on me and I sprayed on my skin and clothes. Yes, it’s generic smelling but I like that it has the Chloe DNA in the background.

80% Dolce Devotion. I have both but this one WINS! Issue I have is that this perfume doesn't stay long unlike the previous flankers. What changed? Someone says Hi-chew? YES! Smells like candy. I even thought there was lemon note here but there's none. I like it tho. It's so likable. Smells less soapy compared to the OG.

Have come to love this one and I don’t particularly care for the original Chloe edp....at all. This is fresh, sweet, and slightly tart from the balsamic note. Classic and understated floral. I get compliments even though it’s not super overpowering. It’s a great everyday. I love that’s it’s natural as well.

I really feel like there's a note of mirabelle in here. Deliciously fruity on me without being too young. Love love love. I understand the slight comparison to Hanae Mori, but Chloe Lumineuse is way more modern and doesn't smell like cleaner once it dries down. A breezy sort of sophistication seldom found.

Very House of Chloe. The drydown is a lot similar to Love Story, that peculiar apple-ish scent I recognized pretty well. For the ones who like Chloe Signature, I suggest you give it a try. There is a bit of vanilla in this, but is a very delicate scent. Low sillage. Average lasting power (5-6 h).

It feels like you put on a powdery rosy luxury cream,very nostalgic for some reason it reminds me of old barbie movies where I think princess Anneliese would wear it, this happened to me before with Chloe Love also I think Chloe line is for princesses,peaceful...

I absolutely love and adore this flanker. I tested this at Macy's and when I walked out I immediately got a buttery vanilla amber scent that reminded me of something I used to know. I went back that night right before they closed and bought me the 3.3oz. 😍

It smells a lot like Mugler’s Alien Goddess, which I adore, but slightly less “solar” because there’s no coconut water. I wear them together and it’s such a beautiful combination. It is powdery, but soft. Didn’t catch the rose note, just a soft floral

Soft, clean, and quietly elegant. Has a gentle floral warmth that never overwhelms. The rose and jasmine feel smooth and airy, softened by a creamy vanilla base. Perfect if you want something feminine and refined, subtle rather than loud.

This is a soft, warm rose with a hint of vanilla. Very classy and subtle. It smells like fresh flowers and skin, almost like you naturally smell good. Not loud at all and perfect for daily wear. I love a vanilla, soft, powdery scent.

Wow ! This took me by surprise ! I love the OG Chloe chloe. This is totally different. Warm, vanilla rose scent. Clean girl vibes & certanly work friendly. At the same time I feel like this can be a signature scent ❤️

This doesn’t read as a vanilla scent to me but it’s there to balance the white floral so it doesn’t read too overpowering. I really like it but I tend to layer it with other florals to add a touch of sweetness.

Something maybe solar or buttery here, it's got that thick warm creamy feeling that those two accords can give. Not getting much rose or patchouli at all. I usually don't like the Chole line but love this one.

This work of art is an underrated sensation. The jasmine and rose opening is elegant and smooth and the vanilla and amber are soft and creamy. Never have I ever craved a fragrance until now.

Yes! Signature worthy work appropriate perfume. The OG sometimes comes off too soapy and sharp on my skin. This is just what I’m looking for, for an everyday subtle easy reach 🩷🌿

not as rosey as the original, this one’s even better. my favorite everyday perfume. even though i don’t get it after 4 hours my fiancé says this lasts all day on me. love it

A girlishly sweet and pretty balance of cool, powdery florals and warm, vanillic amber. The slightly jammy rose note cuts through the powder with a bit of moisture and crispness, while the vanilla adds a creamy softness—resulting in a scent that's nicely rounded and elegantly delicious. Like a rose-flavoured cream candy in a dainty, golden wrapper. Sometimes I think of scents like this as Disney Princess scents. Bright, generous, floral fragrances; lovely, sweet, and classically feminine. I'm not wowed by Lumineuse , but I am charmed; a fragrance doesn't need to be unique or adventurous to be lovely. I just wish the rose note was a bit stronger, and lasted longer on my skin, because once it fades in the dry down, the whole thing becomes a lot more simple and vanilla-centric, losing the bright, elegant dimensionality that makes me like it so much in the beginning.
