Narcissus Poeticus

I’m still not 100% sure what narcissus smells like, as I’ve never smelt the flower in nature. From what I hear, narcissus can have a really complex scent profile that goes from the white floral heady to the animalic, green or even tobacco like notes. Looking at the variety poeticus, it is said to smell like a mixture of jasmine and hyacinth, and I think I agree. It’s lush floral and a bit green at once. This is something I very much enjoy as an easy summer/ morning fresh from the shower floral which is indeed soapy but in a lovely way. Not scratchy-green like some roses, not indolic. In my own scent reference memory, this feels a bit vintage smelling, probably because it reminds me of the glorious vintage collection from Grossmith (Hasu no hana/ Phul nana?) which possibly contain a similar natural narcissus note. Like the other 2 Atelier de Fleur scents I own, it’s very easy on my nose and does not hit me with unpleasant noticeable aroma chemicals, which I am thankful for. I love this!

I tried this on at Duty Free after sampling the entire line. THIS is the soapy perfume of my DREAMS. I liked it at first sniff, because it's a beautiful mild, clean, subtly sweet scent...so I loved it but not enough to buy on the way home from travel.... However, a full 3 days after spraying about 6 times on the proper paper card I stashed in my travel purse, I noticed the most beautiful scent and assumed it was a new conditioner, but smelled my hair...no not it...I smelled my shirt...nope, not that gorgeous sweet flower smell.... then I remember my travel bag. The amazing scent was coming from this card. Gotta buy it now. Next time I travel.

If JLo's Glow and Prada's Infusion D'Iris had a baby, this will be it. Very soapy. Not as sharp as glow and not as powdery as Infusion D'Iris. It has some yellow flowers and some kind of sweetness in a not vainillic way. It is not stunning, but as a lover of soapy scents, it is very lovely. Has more projection than the others perfumes from Atelier I own (Mimosa, Santalum and Cedrus). It may not be the more unique fragrance, but is very well done.

I am wearing it today and it is really potent. Projects a lot! To me, this scent is rather a yellow floral. Smells a lot like natural ylang, which I really love since it is one of my favorite flowers. Totally recommend if you're into yellow florals with a hint of soapiness to it!

I swear I get jasmine or light tuberose in the opening then it dissipates. That's the opening. The mid-phase is all about soapy, clean, powdery white floral — close to Santa Maria Novella's style. I find the drydown to be very pleasant, and it reminds me of the drydown of Jo Malone's Tuberose and Angelica, although this one is greener, more powdery, and less sweet. Smells chic and classy overall, with a nice twist!

A really beautiful, sophisticated scent! It opens a sweet floral and dries down very clean & soapy. Not my fave scent profile at all but I can appreciate how well done this is.. I think if I loved the floral/clean vibe it would be a 10, but I don’t so it’s just a like.

I agree with the comments below this is more of a neroli scent, disappointing, very soapy and not natural smelling to me at all.

This is a Le Labo style deception regarding the name. There is nothing in this to remind me of narcissus or spring florals in general. Narcissus Poeticus is a white flower blend with jasmine, orange blossom, neroli. The brand somehow paints it out to be very natural but I get that raspy synthetic note in the late dry drown. I would group this with Guerlain's Nerolia Vetiver and even Prada Paradoxe,

NEROLI! NEROLI AND MORE NEROLI!! More like a child of Neroli Portofino with a sweet jasmine note included. I don't get narcissus/Daffodil scent. No, it is not similar to Chloe Narcisse. Not at all. Soapy and slightly sweet neroli scent. It is pretty, if you can be happy with neroli. Sample it first.

While this did not live up to its name, as most people observed below, it is quite different from other scents in my collection and I like the powdery yellowness of its flowers! Very soapy and therefore clean-leaning, which differs from trendy laundry or ozonic scents.

This perfume has nothing to do with real daffodils. I was quite disappointed after trying it on a paper tester.

Can anyone tell me if this is similar to the 1990s Chloe Narcisse? I'd love to find something reminiscent.

This is far from the narcissus as I know it. It is subtle, soapy, high-pitched fragrance.
