Sous les Pins

For the longest time, green and piney aromatics have been a bit challenging for me. I now realise that this is because I wasn't getting my nose on the good ones. I tried this at Dubai airport last night after a recommendation from Robin James / Man For Himself on Youtube and honestly, I likely would never had reached for this as I associate Chloe - rightly or wrongly - as being a very feminine brand. He met with Quentin Bisch quite recently and tried out the very on-trend new Atelier Des Fleurs releases and this one stood out for him. He's got a great nose and so I figured I'd see what he was talking about. Turns out, this is absolutely amazing. I had already decided to pick it up before the aircraft had left Dubai and did so when I landed in Doha. If I have a greeny aromatic profile I enjoy, this is most definitely it. What does it smell like? It is a mineral and verdant, slightly camphoraceous summer specialist with a greeny Bergamot top that is like a sweeter and much lighter Bois Imperial very distant cousin, but without the Timur or amber base. The Ambroxin filter is different somehow, it has a different texture. There is a curious hayloft dryness to Sous Les Pins that I really enjoy. It doesn't smell of hay but it has that texture on the nose. The pine accord is nowhere near as harsh or medicinal as you see in others like this one. I swear I can smell Vetiver in this but there is none in the notes apparently. It is a much easier and more refined wear than Wild Vetiver by Creed which this reminds me of just a little. A closer comparison would be Vertigo by Maison Noir which I picked up recently, though that is much more vetiver-heavy. I have a feeling these two would layer beautifully. The whole thing is very evocative. I landed in Athens this morning via Doha to cobalt blue skies, cypress trees and vibrant Jacaranda everywhere I look. There is something in this scent that feels timeless and very much of this place. It feels an appropriate wear for here: very much on-trend and in fashion, what all the cool people are wearing, but somehow also the same sort of thing the Ancient Greeks wore thousands of years ago. Funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same, isnt it? Three Word Summary: Green Done Perfectly Layering suggestion: Vertigo 236 by Maison Noir to add a heavier vetiver note whilst keeping all in canon. Outfit: Linen shirt and shorts, tortoiseshell Wayfarers and easy suede slip-ons. Scent - 9/10 Sillage - 8/10 Drydown - 7/10 Bottle/presentation - 10/10 Performance - 7/10 41/50

I smelled this in store and fell in love with it!!!!!!!!!!1 i love it i finally made a fragrantica account because i finally have something to write a review about. the initial spray wasn't particularly jaw-dropping, i thought it was wonderful but as it wore down i could not stop smelling my wrist. i ran back to sephora 3 hours later to get a bottle. overall, quite a mild, woody, clean and rather citrusy scent when initially sprayed. as it dries down (especially on my skin) however, a deeper, almost honey-like undertone starts to shine through which is truly what captivated me lol. its so inoffensive and generally pleasing but its complexity is SUCH a delight wow. i notice that after a few hours i stop smelling it unless i directly sniff myself but people have told me that they still smell it on me from a distance. i remember spraying it onto my skin before bed and when i woke up the next morning my bed and clothes just smelled so warm, luxurious, comforting and lovely that i almost missed work. this is definitely my signature scent going forward ! so happy to have found this. i was initially looking to buy cedrus but i felt this was far superior

This is magical. Absolutely stunning. I bought a travel size to test it first after hearing a few reviews singing its praises. After looking at the notes, I was worried, as this is not a scent profile I find myself enjoying much. I was worried it would be too green and woody. But it is not. It is, in fact, the freshest scent with a sweet undertone that I'm not sure how they managed to extract. Eucalyptus notes can sometimes seem synthetic, almost like a Vicks vapor rub. But in this, it smells clean and fresh and enhances the sweet green scents. Today, it's about 95 degrees with 100% humidity where I live, and this is the perfect scent. Feels clean, crisp and fresh. I will be getting a full size bottle once I use up this travel size (which will most likely be soon as I can't get enough of this one.)

A hit straight to the heart! This perfume is everything I've ever been looking for. The true Mediterranean is revealed on my skin with the summer heat of released pine resin, herbal tone and a delicate sandy-sea accord. Not Blue Meditteraneo line by AdP nor Un Jardin en Méditerranée by Hermes, nothing like Philosycos, Xerjoff or Mancera or Tom Ford or Santa Maria Novella. This one captures true Mediterranean soul. It’s so real and tender and calms me down immensely and fills me with peace and joy at the same time. It holds well especially on linen clothes. I have an extremely sensitive nose for fixatives and synthetics, and this cannot even be remotely compared to the unpleasant synthetic akigalawood in Bois Imperial and the plastic asphalt note in Ganymede.

A warm, green, and herbaceous-balsamic fragrance with a deeply soothing character. The opening recalls a classic cologne, yet in a gentler, smoother form. There is none of the sharp acidity of citrus fruits or the bitterness of herbs; instead, the fragrance evokes a Mediterranean garden bathed in sunshine. This scent relaxes and calms, lingering on fabric throughout the day with a sillage that remains noticeable for quite some time, yet always refined and restrained. As the fragrance unfolds, the subtle sweetness gradually gives way to an almost vegetal dryness. Nothing here is meant to dominate or overwhelm, the composition is designed to create an enveloping cloud of serenity and comfort. A very successful creation in an amazing olive-colour bottle.

Thoroughly enjoying wearing this one, had to pick up a full bottle once I had sampled it. Have a bit of a soft spot for it due to the fact it smells a lot like one of the Radox bath soaks, as well as smelling a lot like the ADP Buongiorno body wash. Really relaxing and spa like nature to it due to the aromatics and quite linear really which I personally like as the opening is what gravitates you to it. Longevity is ok, cannot really comment on projection as it develops but seems to be moderate and is noticeable in the room after you've sprayed. Just an all round great masculine leaning fresh fragrance and one that is such a joy to wear. Nothing at all like Bois Imperial as the comparisons suggest, totally in its own category.

Just off the northeastern coast of Sardinia lies the La Maddalena archipelago and the small island of Caprera. It was right there, behind a kiosk selling famous panini with grilled eggplant, that my guy took my all-time favorite photo—me, barefoot, with sea salt on my sunburned skin, relaxing in a hammock suspended between pine trees, a hat covering my face. I know that Quentin Bisch was inspired by t southern France when he created the latest three perfumes for Chloé... but for me, Sous Les Pins is a return to the pine forest north of Sardinia. An incredibly realistic flashback. As a guy—it’ll be my first Chloé perfume, but I have to have it. Dry, airy, natural, clean and fresh. Love at first sniff.

Sous les Pins is a refreshing yet comforting aromatic scent. Feels clean and airy yet grounded. I blind bought it based on the notes and having an affinity for the Chloe Atelier des Fleurs line as well as many Quentin Bisch creations...and I am not disappointed. I used to live in Colorado and Sous les Pins takes me back to summertime hikes in national forests throughout the Rockies. A compelling mix of cool camphorous pine notes mixed with the warmth of pure sunshine. The akigalawood is prominent, so if you are averse to this note, you probably won't like this perfume. I already want the bigger bottle because I want to spray this beauty with abandon. Appropriate for all genders and seasons. LOVE

Sous les Pins feels like standing in a California pine forest with sunlight filtering through the dark green branches. It’s green, but not sharp. The pine is smooth, resinous, and comforting. There’s something incredibly tasteful about it. Elegant without trying, completely unisex, and quietly expensive-feeling. The kind of fragrance that makes someone seem effortlessly put together. They're introverted, read hardcover books, have impeccable music taste, and take frequent mountain retreats for relaxation. If it wasn't for all the memes in recent years, I would say this the closest I've ever felt to being part of the Cullen family in Twilight.

Tried this out in a department store today and it's a "love it" for me. It smells exactly as described, but with a gentler, softer touch than what may come to mine right away. It's definitely got the camphorous pine note, very foresty/cabiny, but not in the realm of Pine Sol (cleaner) - I sense some light floral undertones that bring it to a more unique space. That said, if you don't like woody/piney smells, I'd probably skip this. I do, though, and this one did not let me down. Will be saving up for a bottle! Very unisex and all-season in my opinion.

What a stunner! This is a green perfume but for me, this is a winter time or autumn fragrance when there's a chill in the air. This is such a comforting, enveloping green ambery fragrance that is so smooth. It's classy, elegant and 100% unisex. I have cedrus and while there are some similarities, this is more noticeable straight away, Cedrus is more woody while Sous Les Pins is definitely more piney and green but in the most wonderful way. Anyone wearing this instantly has taste.

This is so nostalgic to me -- rather than spa-like it smells just like a hotel lobby back home in Southeast Asia. It's bright and refined enough to not come off like aftershave, shower gel, or the like. I love pine, but this might be too on-the-nose specific for me to get a FB.

Picked this up today. I was originally looking at getting Cedrus but this completely stole the show. It's an instant favorite. It reminds me of Bois Imperial which made total sense when the SA mentioned it's another Quentin Bisch creation. It's herby, it's fresh. I love this!

blind bought this based on a review below, who said "it's a mix between two Bisch creations Ganymede and Terrible Teddy) and I was sold. the description was somewhat accurate, it has a touch of both plus some slightly sweet pine. 0 regrets and solid 9/10.

I know it's supposed to be a summer fragrance but i get such a strong association with christmas candles i can't help but think of this as a christmas fragrance. Very piney, quite sweet, and in a way, refreshing. It brings me peace and happiness.

Ok I totally understand why Sous Les Pins is popular. Love the scent profile it’s beautiful. I also love the bottle color.

Sous Les Pins is such a gorgeous fragrance. Totally unisex to me. The pine note is there but it's not overpowering.

Tried this out as a recommendation for a foresty witchy scent for daily wear. It's a very gentle scent, quite well rounded, smooth even. There seems to be something citrus adjacent within the green notes, but nothing is listed. It is quite comforting, feels very natural, reminds me of a chilly morning breeze. Drydown is woody, slightly warm and with a hint of sweetness, pleasant. Definitely very wearable, even in the summer, it feels quite fresh. I was worried it would be a bit like toothpaste or aftershave because of some other reviews but I didn't get that impression. After reading the perfume ingredients I now understand the citrus notes are from bergamot peel oil, and the sweetness from rose ketones.

Sous les Pins is often compared to Bois Impérial due to its aromatic woody profile and modern transparent character. However, the drydown is noticeably softer and less masculine-leaning. Where Bois Impérial emphasizes sharp, mineral woods and a more assertive woody signature, Sous les Pins smooths the edges with a musky, airy quality that feels more natural and comforting. The woodiness is gentler, less metallic, and more wearable for those who find Bois Impérial slightly too intense or traditionally masculine. Simply stated, Sous les Pins fixed the problem Bois Impérial had for me.

Lovely. Soapy fresh citrus, light resinous pine, on a creamy-powdery almost sweet woody base. Very easy to wear, softly diffusive with mild projection, 8 hour longevity. Probably a safe blind buy for many people as it’s an easy reach option in most situations. But it’s not for that niche lover who wants a resinous oily deep pine scent, more true to nature. This is like the clean girl version of that, although it’s totally unisex. A soft and safe pine perfume. To my taste it’s not in the usual beast mode Quentin Bisch style at all. Which is a good thing.

This is citrus (bergamot) and green forward , I don’t detect any pine notes so strong as in the notes listed here. The green notes are also very citrusy in construction instead of something like Fathom V. It’s linear with good longevity for summer. Very pleasant overall

The opening is beautiful, but the middle notes and dry-down is what make this scent really sing. It's classy, comforting and addictive. I keep wanting to sink my nose into my wrists to drink deep.

Fresh, sweet,piney,benzoin(a little), cozy. it's good but It's not the pure pine scent I was looking for. conifer's weak . ☆YouTubers say it smells strongly of pine, but don't believe them.

I find this very similar to Moonlight in Chiangmai. I like them both

The pine opening is quite raw: very resinous and green. The sweet nuances are subtled, so the first impression is fresh and wild. With next level the scent becomes more complex and reveals its softer heart. It is comfy and evokes meditative thoughts, although the accord melts bold and masculine. I belive, with the right opportunity, in positive vibrations and confident, natural aura. This perfume deserves its fans. --- Projection between moderate-strong. Longevity is great, almost half day.

Smelled that at the airport. The opening is much better than the drydown. Overrated. Opens with a realistic fresh green pine, but then something citrus comes through. Idk... It reminds me of my father's aftershave from Lidl. I had high hopes... :/ Nah...

It would be my top 5 perfumes if the longevity was stronger ! Such an amazing scent but too too too weak.

This is VERY nice on paper but awful on my skin. In the "reminds me of" section, people compare this to Ganymede - not similar to me (Ganymede is a lot sharper and scratchier) - and to Bois Imperial - I liked Bois Imperial but found that a little smoother and more unspecifiedly-woody than this. On paper- pleasant, easy-to-like (quote: mass appealing) pine that is smoooooth and suave without being offensively sharp or scratchy (as per QB's usual style). -> here, worth buying. On skin- pine is almost completely gone and my skin is only holding on to some horrible synthetic musk/wood in the drydown. Try before buying on skin, please!!!

This opens with a slightly soapy, slightly citrus sweet pine. This is my favorite part of the fragrance but the soapy citrus facets quickly fade leaving an airy and fresh pine. There is some spicy camphor in the background but the scent remains fresh and transparent. This is the most masculine leaning in the collection. It reminds me a lot of the woody offerings from Rogue Perfumery, especially targhee forest. I find it a pleasant fresh scent that I would imagine a put together man wearing as a polished casual daytime fragrance. It gives too much of an aftershave cologne vibe for me to wear personally and I mean that in the nicest way. This is not spa eucalyptus as I had hoped but the chicest, most elevated barber shop aftershave type fragrance without the sharp abrasiveness many of those offerings tend to have. I would suggest women sample first.

Recently got my hands on this (blind bought it...which I know is a sin), and surprised that no one has mentioned the resemblance to Torino22. Granted, the resemblance is more the case in the opening, where I got that sugared, slightly mentholated eucalyptus (albeit softer and less sweet than the Xerjoff). The similarity does continue into Sous le Pins' sort of modern, synthetic backbone (I can kind of see the "plastic" impression some get), although it doesn't really trigger a headache for me like Torino22 does. Beyond that, Sous le Pins to me does go a little woodier and greener in the drydown, and some of that sweetness does wear off too. I feel a little on the fence with this...on one hand, I do like the DNA...but I was also hoping for a more "natural" green scent experience. I'll definitely test it more and see if that connection comes to me.

Very nice! Firstly, in the new line of Chloe out of all the testers SLP was mostly used up and sales assistant noted it was currently THE most popular.it seems like the latest spring- summer trend of natural organic green forest trend is perfectly reflected in this fragrance. I can clearly detect “trendy” pine forest note here, with a light sweetness and humidity of sawdust (almost reminiscent of OG Molecule 01). Wearing it surely won’t annoy anybody: just a gallant good taste scent. Can’t call it a neutral and suitable for layering composition as Molecule 01 Escentric Molecules - it is clearly a standalone creation by Quentin Biche. I can clearly see wearing it for various outsets during the routine of the day, like office, gym, lunch.

The perfumers for Chloe have always been stellar at realistic nature-related scents, you can count on them to bring you a wholeass forest, berries, and/or florals in a perfume bottle. Sous les Pins is done by Quentin Bisch, who at this point for me can do no wrong. I am most familiar with the Nomade collection (my dude is obsessed with it). I am excited to try this.

I knew instantly this was created by Quentin Bisch, specifically because It has traces of two other popular creations of his; Ganymede, and Penhaligons Terrible Teddy. Sous Les Pins smells like the prolonged dry-down of those two fragrances on your clothing, but just slightly more resinous. I like it!

This smells like an organic Ganymede. Like Ganymede went to the forest and picked up pine needles and woods and freshness that it didn’t have before. Feels a little lighter too. I would have to test performance and how it smells on skin but I liked this.

I've admittedly never smelled a summertime pine scent; I usually associate this note with winter, christmas. This is warm but fresh, botanical, green, resinous, fresh, distinct, and natural yet elegant.

Yeah, just stick with Pinewards... this isn't Bois or Ganymede. Cheap comparison... something medicinal. Missing the astringent realistic pine sap or resin scent. Ocean water snow cone. 💧

Opening is wulong cha vibe, On dry down it kinda reminds me of the og gucci pour homme ii, just try it before judging me the og was my signature perfume. Its nice overall

Meh - Cedrus is wayyyy better to me. Will be layered with Cedrus going forward. Unisex leaning a tad masculine. I prefer Sable Lavande over this.

Opens great and evokes what the name suggests. Similar to Cedrus, just a bit greener. But too fleeting for me.
