Vanilla Planifolia

Gorgeous. Worth every penny and the long wait for it to come back in stock. Opens fresh and airy floral heavy gourmand with green notes, the plants, the stems, the petals. It feels edible when you spray, but the plant-ness of it makes it feel more in the family of a fresh lavender sugar cookie or French violet toffee candy. It almost feels like there’s a touch of mint in it. I think this is the banana scent others mentioned. Smells like a fresh green banana, unpeeled, not the candy fake banana flavor. As it dries down, the greenness fades and it develops a sugar crystal cookie top with a sun baked tropical floral base. The florals felt more sharp and aquatic in the opening, like a few other “orchid” notes I’ve sampled, but as this dries down they transform to a soft beachy ylang type smell, maybe a little tuberosey, with a good amount of vanilla. It’s lovely on its own or, as it was designed, can be layered nicely with other scents. Not ideal for someone looking for a straight simple vanilla gourmand or for people who don’t like floral scents. Smells expensive and well designed. It seems simple upon first test but the scent evolves very nicely. Perfect for easy days when you just want to feel pretty but don’t want a scent that demands the attention of the entire room. Or for dates in the park wearing a sun dress. I’m currently wearing in the winter and it smells very nice and not out of character for the season as well. Doesn’t quite smell like anything else I’ve tried before. That doesn’t say much, but I can tell this is different. Very unique. I much prefer it to a lot of popular “vanilla” scents, but I also seem to fall in love with a lot of Quentin Bisch’s work way harder than I do for any others, it’s even happened with scents I didn’t realize he designed until later on. I feel like this scent will probably be stored next to my beloved La Belle Fleur Terrible (same designer) as they feel similar though smell different. Both are vanilla heavy tropical florals. Chloe is light and chic and more gourmand. Fleur Terrible is heavier tropical and floral with a spicy woody vibe, not exactly edible. (Fleur Terrible is getting relaunched this year and will be renamed “La Belle Paradise Garden” btw for those curious). I wouldn’t say they are interchangeable at all or that owning both is redundant, they smell very different from each other to my nose. I’ll definitely be buying a backup of this.

I blind bought this fragrance, because I couldn't find any reviews and not many notes are listed, that alone made this fragrance a mysterious one. I think this fragrance is a flowery, spicy, clean yet a little bit animalic in the dry down. In the opening I percive something green.....maybe green cardamom and some pepper .....and maybe I'm crazy but when I spray it I think it has the tiniest bit of pear mixed with dill and a citrus or something sour (this I get for only 5-7 min). The opening I don't like that much but after 10-15 min, I love it. Then it has something flowery (I'm not saying it is magnolia, but something reminiScent to that.. like it says on the packaging .. "almost carnal flower") and maybe nutmeg and a little bit of cinnamon and then it turns into a mysterious, addictive and sensual fragrance(but also somehow with a sobriety to it) There is something special in the dry down. It is mysterious, elegant with a hint of an animalic note and a little bit of sweetness . It worked realy well with my skin and I could smell this fragrance for about 9 hours on my skin and in my hair even longer. For me it is a skin scent. If it has vanilla pod, it is a subtle one and it is present in the dry down because it has a hint of sweetness it.(But it could also be tonka) I percive something similar to the spices in "Intoxicated" by Kilian but Vanilla Planifolia is a skin subtle scent and could be worn throughout the entire year.(It is just similar to the spices) The description on the packaging of the fragrance is spot on. I'm happy that I bought it.

What a delightful and wonderful surprise this fragrance took me by!! I was not expecting to smell something so “light” and airy as this...this was truly a great experience, one I wish many fragrances would make happen. But I digress. Vanilla Planifolia smells airy and slightly green. Not the same green as Angélique Noire by Guerlain nor Ani by Nishane. It is its own. But it is “light”, airy and fresh and yet deliciously floral with a slight touch of warmth (the vanilla?). Does this make any sense? Probably not. I had to blind buy it as it came up on my notifications from Nordstrom and I rushed to get one of the few bottles they had left! This fragrance sells out very quickly and with good reason! This is a vanilla that is neither sweet nor gourmand and yet, it manages to take me to paradise when I spray it on my skin. Longevity: surprisingly long!! 8+ hours on my skin! Sillage/Projection: very mild, almost shy but I love it!!! Season: anytime/anywhere! This is an easy one to wear! Price: look, it’s a masterpiece! I don’t care how much it costs, and my ONLY regret is that I couldn’t get the 5oz bottle as it is difficult to find. It’s backup worthy (in my humble opinion) and so well blended that I will sing its praises all the way to the Angels and back⭐️⭐️⭐️✨⭐️⭐️⭐️ Is Quentin Bisch a rockstar or what? Well done Quentin, very well done!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

If you like in your face bakery vanilla, this might not be for you. I've always to get this, but mostly it was unavailable and sold out. The moment I saw it, I got it - even for a good deal. I own quite a few Vanilla (heavy) fragrances from Vanilla 28, over Hypnotic Poison to Divine Vanille. All of them are very creamy with strong Sillage in my opinion. Very dense, very mature leaning. Vanilla planifolia opened fresh. And I agree with many who smelled a freshly peeled green banana. It's very pleasant though, yet short loved. What follows is a beautiful, airy floral with hints of the vanilla peeling through. It's a bit powdery, ethereal and bright. Very soft and innocent. And it smells expensive. I imagine someone with a white shirt with exquisite accessories and fitted jeans with some expensive loafers. Wearing a Hermes Birkin and some Chanel sunnies. Effortlessly elegant. But also this could be a bridal perfume. I think you get the gist. One of the best vanillas to me out on the market. The bottle is beautiful, but I really dislike the sticker on it. It was not really centered on my bottle and imho a laser engraving would've given more affluence. Overall it's a 10/10 for me.

This is the first Chloe in my collection, as in general this brand does pretty good, but not my cup of perfume :) However I had interest to this perfume once it was launched, because I love vanilla in it's all aspects. And I did not think too long, just 5 years and voila- this perfume is mine! :) I sprayed it just 10 min ago and can not say anything about it's technical characteristics, however this 'soliflor' (single flower) composition is unusual in a very good way. Same effect as Vanilla Planifolia from Guerlain- effect of deep thinking about what you feel when you sniff it. It's not the effect that you would expect from 'just vanilla'. I literally had an image of a refined beige-yellowish, delicate velvety surface that which at some point it suddenly gleams with a light green, smooth-satin surface. I literally have this visual image. Never happened to me. Now after 15 min I don't have this green satin glim, but it was interesting. I really like this perfume. It's really worth to try. Not a typical vanilla perfume. If you want to know if it has some similarities with Guerlain Vanilla Planifolia. It's just similar name.

I’ve been wanting this one for a while and finally pulled the trigger on blind buying it. Luckily it was successful. After reading some reviews I have to agree that the green opening smells like a green banana. However, it still remains sweet. Almost as if the banana was covered in vanilla bean paste. As it dries down the vanilla becomes powdery, but not in the sense of baby powder, maybe more like a powdered donut. The spices and floral notes are there in a way that adds depth to the vanilla, but not so much that you could pull out what they are. Overall it is a light and airy vanilla. I think the opening is beautiful in a way that takes you on a slight journey that makes the fragrance more fun, but doesn’t last long. In the end you’re left with a beautiful and elegant scent. Completely different than typical “cheap” vanillas. I will say it’s not a fragrance I would wear to bed (something I love to do). I’m not sure what it is about it but it’s one I would leave for the daytime only, but definitely can be worn in all seasons.

Vanilla Planifolia is everything I wanted it to be and more. It opens with the juiciest, nectar-filled orchids—so vibrant and golden, they almost feel alive. They’re dripping in this creamy, thick vanilla milk, but it’s not your usual sugary vanilla. This one’s smooth and mellow, like the perfect amount of rich and gentle. It feels warm and cozy, but somehow airy, a richness that wraps without suffocating. After a bit, there’s this hint of spicy wood shavings just enough to add a bit of texture. But the woods don’t hang around for long, fading gently into the background and leaving the orchids and vanilla to take center stage. There’s this almost edible quality to it, too, gourmand but also juicy and floral in a way that keeps it bright and alive. Honestly, it’s addictive—god knows how many times I've sniffed my wrist—like a vanilla orchid dessert I’d happily drown in.

As a vanilla lover, this frag has a uniqueness that kept me smelling my wrist all afternoon. It almost has a slight saltiness at the opening. Then it blossoms into a gorgeous floral vanilla. Its sweet but not too sweet, floral but not headache-y, and serious enough for a 40 years old who wants to be seen as feminine but firm and young enough for a 80 year old to lure a flirty suitor. After two or three hours it melts into the skin offering a tease of vanilla here and there as you go about your day. By the fifth hour it becomes a skin scent that's a bit spicy but sweet enough that it leaves your partner wanting bite into you. This is the most unique vanilla I own and I am so glad I blind bought! I dare say that this could be a signature scent due to its lack of popularity. - just my two (s)cents. hehe

This is Quentin Bisch's take on the (imaginary) scent of vanilla orchids and I get it. Real vanilla orchids have no smell but this is a bright, welcoming floral vanilla. Slightly velvety, reminiscent of the softness of orchid petals between one's fingers. Light, airy, but not fleeting-- this one stays present. It's super elegant yet feels so versatile you could wear it in any kind of situation. This is a wonderful floral scent, once again. To me it's not a full-on gourmand vanilla even though it's slightly sweet. But it's sweet enough to make you want to smell it again and again. It's very warm weather appropriate. I can't wait to try it on a slightly windy weather, when sunny spring days will be back. Simple, very elegant and optimistic. My favourite take on a floral vanilla.

I get the green banana peel scent in the opening that others have mentioned. It’s a very fresh take on vanilla. On the dry down, it is incredibly unique. To my nose it is so well blended and creamy that I have difficulty discerning each individual note but at the same time it isn’t muddy or soupy. It comes across as sophisticated and a warm, soft, sweet skin scent. This fragrance won’t pigeon hole you so you can wear it pretty much any time. Not a safe blind buy in my opinion if you’re looking for something candy-like or hate green earthy fresh scents. It reminds me of a warm hug from an ethereal being. Like a fairy who is undercover as a regular person. You wouldn’t know she’s magical unless you’re close to her. On my skin I rate this a 10/10.

From a lukewarm “like” upon sniffing Vanilla Planifolia at the store - to giving it a few full day wears - it has now became one of my favorite summer time vanillas if I want a clean, light and green floral scent ... to me it is not exactly vanilla forward, but still has a hint of my favorite note. I like how it plays off of my warm skin in the heat, quite an enjoyable and easy wear. I do overspray it - and so far it gives me an impressive 4-5 hours in terms of a scent bubble... definitely belongs on my summer favorites list. My samples will last me the whole summer - but will not be purchased as a full bottle as it is a "LIKE" not a love for me. It also makes me want to try Angelique Noir again - maybe this time it clicks;)

Vanilla Planifolia is the name of the plant, native to Mexico, that this is based on. I wasn’t sure what to expect from some of the reviews, and was a bit unsure on the initial opening, but I love it! It’s a smell I recognise, walking along paths on a tropical island. The air is humid and you can smell the slightly sweet mix of plants and flowers. That’s the scent I pick up from this. It’s a fresh, green scent with some crisp, clean vanilla in the background. I find it quite comforting. It’s a soft scent to me, although my boyfriend could smell this before I even entered the room and he loves it. Very feminine and sophisticated. This is a scent that makes me feel put together. Perfect for all year round.

One of the best Vanillas out there. Green, fresh, soft in the opening. Resembling a freshly peeled banana, which is surprisingly pleasant. Powdery floral in the heart followed by a subtle, delectable and feminine vanilla base. If I imagine something expensive smelling, this is it. The Sillage is noticeable, projection is intimate, but it lasts at least 7 hrs. Throughout the day I always get a small whiff of this beautiful scent. I think it's office friendly. I work in a hospital and my patients give me feedback. This one they really liked on me and all 21 one of them agreed on me smelling the most pleasant so far. I don't know if this was shade or a compliment. 😂

A green, sweet vanilla, but with a very specific kind of greenness that to me is indistinguishable from the rind of a clementine orange, the fragrant citrus and the slight bitterness of the pith rendered with clarity. The sweetness is all-natural, the one you'd get from biting into a perfectly ripe fruit. The vanilla is of good quality, bean-like, more floral than edible. It lasts about 4-6 hours on skin, and it sits close -maybe a bit too close. But she's pretty, she's romantic, and she's hard to forget.

This is amazing! It is non-sweet vanilla, at least sweetness is not in the focus, but its delicate spiciness, its woodiness, its mysterious fresh floral hue and even freshness. It is also buttery. If you seek only gourmand side, this one might be a bit too spicy for you, but not for me. Spices make it cozy, a pinch of pepper in the top give this delicate vanilla a bit of texture. This is vanilla masterpiece. Do you remember Vanille Noire Yves Rocher? There is a familiar butter-fresh-woody nuance.

this is a beautiful green cloudy vanilla fragrance ❤️ its subtly and elegantly sweet, which makes it perfect for hotter days. but its also enveloping and comforting enough to be amazing in colder days as well :) so its a year round perfume, perfect for freshies lovers, on me it lasts for 8+ hours with beautifully noticeable projection- not too cloying and strong. creates a cloud-like bubble scent around you and gets a lot of compliments :)

i am obsessed with this one!! she might be the perfect spring fragrance (next to diptyque’s lilyphea, which this would pair so well with tbh). slightly green banana opening (LOVE for some reason) and then a milky orchid-y vanilla. definitely would fall into the category of green vanilla, though this one leans a bit more feminine than lilyphea, which i would say is a tad more unisex. definitely considering a full bottle of this!

She smells so familiar, but also as something I haven’t reached yet, somewhere I haven’t yet made it. Like the woman I want to become. Smells like home. Refined and expensive, powdery vanilla. Simple, yet layered with depths and nuances. Very true about the soft banana at opening whiff. She’s soft, patient lady like. Kind of like a secret garden. This is definitely a scent for a woman, not a young lady.

wonderful. this might become one of my all time favorite vanilla scents. It opens a tad green, but after 30 min or so it dies down, thankfully. Then you get a sweet vanilla, but not as basic as just vanilla extract. It has a bit of a spicy undertone, but it just ties the scent down instead of ruining it as black pepper can do in some other fragrances. Gucci Flora Gorg Orch is a bit fresher than this.

For me this is a very beautiful perfume that im in love at first sniff, an ethereal scent, that you can wear in any weather and occasion. light and creamy vanilla scent with a touch of soft floral scent. my best blind buy after versace crystal noir. love it so much! and the fact that this is a work of art by perfumer Quentin Bisch makes it even more special in my collection

Such a beautiful inoffensive fragrance. Good for day to day wear. Its like the fresh green flower smell you get in a flower shop combined with vanilla. A lovely fresh vanilla scent. I always spray fragrances on my clothes rather than skin and I can still smell it the next day. Good longevity with moderate projection. Great spring time fragrance and easy blind buy.

It is a delightful vanilla scent. I feel like it has green notes reminding of fresh banana. It creates an incredible, unique quality that sets these perfumes apart from other gourmand vanillas. It is not a typical gourmand. It is a fresh, clean, elegant scent while being appetizing and sensual. Close to the skin, with moderate projection but good longevity.

I tested it at the airport and I'm in LOVE!!! Gorgeous green vanilla plant!! Fresh, clean, mildly sweet and vanillic in the best way! Just got this perfume and I love it! It's a very soft, green, floral vanilla. To my nose the opening reminds me of a banana that is still green...I think someone else mentioned it. Then the soft florals come in and it just dreamy, it smells so ethereal. It sits close to the skin and on me it lasted a good seven hours.

Chloe Vanilla Planifolia is very reminiscent of Initio's Absolute Aphrodisiac without the animalic civet note which can become annoying after a long wear and pull masculine on my skin sometimes. This fragrance is GORGEOUS and has outstanding longevity on my skin. Compliments galore!!!!

This is an all season kind of vanilla i think. It's not the loud kind of vanilla. It is subtle yet very sophisticatedly confident. I love wearing this on its own, but when i use this as base and be layered with either florals or citrus based perfumes, it elevates them. This is love.

Soooo lovely! Haven't tried it myself as I can't wear sweet scents, my skin turns them all into disgusting cloying sickly sweet vomit but i smelled it on my boyfriend and it was frankly amazing. No surprises with this one, it's a vanilla floral like it claims to be. Love love love

It starts quite green and complex. For the first 20 minutes it's a green vanilla. The vanilla is the sweet dense kind. The dry down is a very floral and linear vanilla on my skin. It smell very strongly of ylang and tiare flowers, very tropical, and the green parts fades.

First sniff is green with a touch of spice — but spice in the sense that it piques your interest not in an overwhelming clove/cinnamon/gross way. It's a stunning and straightforward scent throughout. I got a compliment from a stranger on this. My favorite vanilla.

This is a bulk CHLOE review - quick note for myself on the 3 fragrance samples I had high hopes this summer: Plage du Figuier Vanilla Planafolia Cedrus /Cedrus Intense All of them are in the "nice" category, but none of them make me want to actually buy them.

A very interesting take on vanilla. I recently got a 150 ml bottle after trying it at a Sephora store in Singapore. It’s very green and floral. It’s not loud, but has a decent longevity. Really enjoyed layering this with J-Scent’s Black Leather. 8/10

Been looking for a soft, green vanilla for ages and this is perfect. Very wearable, stays fairly close to the skin but lasts all day on me (longer on clothing). Pricey but worth it if you want a vanilla that doesn't smell sickly sweet.

This is literally the only Quentin Bisch I like. I don't just like it though. I LOVE it. To me, this smells like straight up vanilla extract. I cant smell spices or flowers. Just vanilla, and I love it!

Currently obsessed with this. I layer it with the Herba Mimosa fragrance from the Chloe Atelier series and it's heavenly 😍😍 I sniff my wrists all the time because the scent makes me happy.

It reminds of walking through a glass butterfly habitat full of tropical plants. I pick up both banana and pineapple in addition to the vanilla. I don't detect any spicy notes.

A warm unique vanilla scent which is not too strong, more on a skin scent. Can wear on a hot weather which will not bother people around you. Like this one.

fluffy, airy, sweet, to me its gourmand somehow. i do kinda understand why poeple say it reminds them of play doh. but angelic and sweet for me!

Picture green salty nuances up top, and underneath, that characteristic slightly smoky-caramelized richness of high quality vanilla bean. Because of this, instead of a sickening heaviness, it feels airy! For the first five minutes there's a creamy and even milky quality, almost like you've put on vanilla lotion. Towards the middle the vanilla becomes more pronounced. No matter how airy this vanilla is to me, no matter how green it feels, it's still a gourmand vanilla. The scent doesn't last long on skin, but it can go over twelve hours in hair, and the final traces are salty and citrusy. At the very end there are woody-spicy touches, but in my opinion it never falls into the spicy-vanilla category. - As for comparisons, to me this one doesn't have an ozonic or banana feel and it never resembles Flora G. Orchid. - Eau Duelle? No... that's a completely different, smoky vanilla. - Lilyphéa Diptyque? Absolutely not, that one is heavily ozonic (because of the violet leaf) - It's like a more successful, less sweet and salt-kissed version of Angélique Noire Guerlain. But as a heads up for those wanting to buy this, I'd say it's a scent with its own identity, and for that reason it's not suitable for blind buying. The weird thing is it's a compliment magnet :) even though I've adopted the "perfumes are just for me" motto, when compliments come my way my human side still takes over and I enjoy it. First spray and I can tell the juice in my bottle had settled into something pungent, the vanilla scent came through almost immediately! But despite that, it stayed remarkably balanced. Almost as though it resisted turning into a cloying vanilla. I let it rest for a few hours and sprayed it again, and I believe all the notes came through as intended the second time around — green, woody, balanced vanilla (with a slight animalic smell) When it dries down it settles into the vanilla orchid which lingers on my skin. This is such an interesting scent, not linear, and it’s the type of perfume that can smell pungent when the wearer sniffs it, but the room smells the radiance. Another grown up vanilla scent great for the discerning, fresh, woman in their prime

Vanilla Planifolia is the second perfume I have tried from the Atelier des Fleur collection and I like it better than Ylang Cananga. I find it again, a fairly light, airy orchid vanilla scent but at least this one has a bit of complexity and contrast. It’s not just bottled vanilla sold for more than 250 euros per bottle. Has some spicy, floral, woody facets that makes it more interesting and faceted. But again, too light for the price! The bottles of this line look very classy and heavy with a minimalist style but the intensity of the scents really leaves me wanting more. If money would be no issue, don’t get me wrong, I would like to have a bottle of these on my dresser. But I’m not there yet. I can’t justify spending so much for something so weak!

I’m so surprised with this perfume. Many people I know told me to skip it and go for Kayali or Vanilla Woods. I have yet to get my hands on Kayali but I can say this smells nothing like vanilla woods - thankfully. This to me smells like warm cookies from a French bakery but that’s not all it smells like, it also has smooth woody & floral notes. These do not smell like run of the mill floral notes. I assume this is the orchid that’s mentioned in the description. Although I said this smells like a cookie it doesn’t smell very sweet. I showered after trying this on and still smell it albeit a skin scent. I am definitely buying a full bottle of this and I’m not mad at the price point for a 5 oz bottle - you can tell the ingredients are high quality.

Green vanilla. A bit funky. Roger & Gallet Vanille Soleil is very similar to it (in case you are also on a budget). Challenging if you are used to sweet gourmand vanillas. Vanilla Planifolia, Vanille Soleil, Immortal Vanilla (Zara) and Vanilla Powder (Matiere Premiere, although this one doesn't work with my skin at all, but Immortal Vanilla is very similar to it and I like it on me) - these for me are vanillas for grown women, not mature in the way vintage floral perfumes come across, but for a confident woman, magnetic through her aura and demeanor, elegant, but still sexy.

When I tested Vanilla Planifolia at the airport, I immediately thought of Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid, which I love. Now I have both, and they're certainly not the same, but they share a similar (not yet ripe) banana-like quality. If you like a green, slightly spicy, and not-too-sweet vanilla, choose VP. If you like gourmand, sweet vanillas, choose FGO. I'd say FGO is more mass-appealing. I'll definitely start wearing Vanilla Planifolia more in spring and layer it with Ylang Cananga.

Just bought this. Awesome warm airy vanilla. I don’t like bourbon vanilla, but this one smells like real vanilla strobe . So sexy, and orchid make this sent so natural . This perfume isn’t too light and airy as some mist. Definitely no. Finally if you looking sent with natural vanilla, the same like you cutting vanilla bean on the table with spring floral bouquet

A refined, natural, fresh, expensive vanilla scent. Smells unique and alluring Has a touch of sour to it, not sure where its coming from though. I definitely think its worth the price, I haven't smelt any other vanilla scents quite like this one. Definitely something fresh and almost tropical about this, not a heavy winter vanilla whatsoever.

It's cookie dough, like I smell vanilla extract and I can feel the dough on the back of my mouth(a bit dry), a spoonful of sugar, very crunchy... and a pinch of salt? Floral note adds to it so this could be chai or chamomile flavored Interesting gourmand but I was looking for something freshier, colder

I second thingnanimose about the young wood and vanilla impressions. A facet of vanilla that we don't much get to experience, more floral and less edible. Although this is something that I would not wear, even as a vanilla lover, I can appreciate the uniqueness and quality of Bisch's work here.
