Agar Royal

I'm loving most of this line. True spring/summer banger. Great original beach scent without the stereotypical beach DNA, you know, like coconut/suntan scents. I was concerned it would be to tangy/orangy at first, but its so smooth and well blended, those thoughts went out the door. Moderate silage, but lingers about 5-6 hours on me, which is fine, because I like to switch things up later in the day. I find it also mildly cooling, expensive smelling with a very unisex vibe here. The pictures just don't do the quality of the bottles justice. Nice heavy glass bottle, cap and weirdly satisfying sprayer (yeah, sometimes that's a great touch in really enjoying the fragrance to me). I own like 4 or 5 of the Chopard private line because of the great quality and I'm wearing the hell out of them all this time of year. My purchases were heavily discounted, so I understand if the price is steep for some.

As someone who can't wear masculine scents without feeling odd, I can say this might work for women thanks to the balance between the oud/nargamotha and the tuberose/jasmine although I would have preferred more of the latter. On me, it's the oud first, then the white flowers which may surprise you hours and hours later, or on and off. A favourite so far by Chopard. I love it in really warm weather when it opens in all its beauty. Can last over 24h! Smells very natural. Update: Not enough white flowers, to me... They are barely there. Update 2: so addictive and strong!

This is a very well blended take on many currently on the market fragrances, including some of Chopard's Malakis. I have Montale Oudrising, which is a "premium" Montale by blend and quality. This seems to me even a better take on that DNA. Very well done, great performer but not a beast. Unisex. The bottle is gorgeous!

Complex, beautiful, easy to love and easy to wear. Very agreable and pleasant at first spray then you have some depth It is another all purpose high quality scent from that collection and the second one for me.

For me, an extremely beautiful fragrance with good, but not too strong oud. At first only very light animalic, then super pleasant and sweet.i have one bottle 98ml if someone have a interest give me news!

This is just amazing and for how cheap you can find this, you can't go wrong here. This is oud and tuberose, quite a strange combination, but it's strangely beautiful. Perfect for all year round. 10/10

Rose Saffron. Rosey first and foremost. Arabicized with Saffron's warm and distinct spiciness. There is soft leathery woodiness that completes Agar Royal's scent. Rosey, warm, saffrony, mildly spicy, lightly leathery and woody. Its leather is reminiscent of Gucci's Voice of the Snake, but the 2 scents are different. It also smells like a saffron attar. Of the original 2019 Chopard Gardens Of The Kings, I enjoyed them all but Agar Royal the least of the 4. My favorites were Nuit des Rois and Aigle Imperial. None of the four is as oudy as the notes suggest. These are all ouds of Westerners, one may say (with respect, of course). You can enhance their oudiness by layering them with oud oil, for a beautiful, truly Arabic result. Cool weather, unisex, mature wear. "Like"

Agar Royal is an extremely underrated fresh, clean and sophisticated oud which easily beats others in this category such as Oud Wood. Straight away you’re greeted with dark, earthy, slightly animalic oud which is blended perfectly with earthy notes of cypriol, vetiver and patchouli. This scent also has a prominent white floral touch, mainly tuberose which is slightly fruity - with a light jasmine to support this. Finally, there’s a fleeting citrus and black pepper which adds a sharp kick to the opening. This is a wonderfully executed oud scent, both clean and sophisticated whilst maintaining just the right amount of dirty animalic characteristics. The materials are very high quality and this definitely smells very luxurious and captivating.

This is good. It's woody spicy oud without being barnyard-y/fecal. Reminds me a lot of one of Rasasi's Boruzz collection either Abeer Malaysia or Asrar Indonesia. I know it smells like one of them but can't remember which. Agar Royal is expensive, though. Really pricey. Good thing is, Oudh Al Boruzz collection came years before Agar Royal, so you can pick them up knowing they are not clones. If anyone is, it's the other way around. Second, Oudh Al Boruzz sells for ~$130 for 50ml bottle of an atomic EDP & it's worth it in my opinion, & still is cheaper than Agar Royal. Anyways, I might pick Agar Royal once it gets discounted. It's really good. However, at that price point, I have to pass. Big "Like"

Very similar to Kilian dark lord, which I've owned. Redundant to own both, they are that close, the differences are minor. I would go with the chopard between the two because it comes in a 100 ml and can be had on the cheaper end. It's woody spicy, leather-y (that would the "oud" note), decent performance, moderate sillage, stays close. I would say if you love oud and have sampled real Oudh scents like rasasi, ajmal purely orient, etc then this is not for you. If you want the morillas take on oud or you want a cheaper Kilian dark lord then this is a good buy if you can grab it at discount. Cheers!

An easy and pleasing approach to oud. i find the combo nargamotha ,Yasmine oud a winner. Even though oud here is clearly synthetic ,( to me synthetic is not necessarily evil but natural oud is something totally different ) I find it very wearable , well balanced .

what immediately struck me with level 14 was the scent of OUD. it is specified in an accompanying leaflet. Oud Assafi Oil releases its fine nanoparticles into the air and nose. this is an oud centered perfume, no matter if thousand so called experts declare there is Oud in None of the Gardens of the Kings Collection. specified is the following: 'This Collection contains a unique variety of pure oud: Oud Assafi, sourced from the Sylhet-region in Bangla Desh. the fragrant resin of the Aquillaria Malaccensis. this Oud Oil takes 40 to 50 years to ripen to perfection. the Sylheti people distill the black parts of the sacred trees.' No One can ever convince me from the Counterpart in this tractate. I smell Oud, as in Dusita's Oudh Infini, as in Terryfic Oud and -Oud Extreme by Terry de Gunzberg, as in Al Oudh from L'Artisan Parfumeur, as in Thirty Three (yrs old Chinese Oud Oil) from Ex Idolo, as in Attar Douce Amère (Bittersweet) from Sultan Pasha Attars, as in Midnight Oudh from Juliette has a Gun and finally as in Agar Royale from Chopard. in all fabulosity I don't fall in the 'there is no oud anywhere near this perfume' like how they hammered down Montale which I neither never believed. He has worked for Quatari Royals and I always knew he used real Oud. (not kilogrammes of course.) now I have to say that only after one hour one can smell sweeter things. I (imagine) smelling Jasmine, (I never smell citruses in perfume except in Vesace's Eros Pour Femme' the Lemon and Lemon Blossom) yet I suspect smelling the citruses making everything smelling somewhat softer, and I guess the Tuberose is all wrapped in in the other machinistics of Notes. my experience with the perfume in so far is that actually in the beginning you get these notes in Superlative Expanses in your nostrils and this with Unimaginable Force, Perpetuous. the two Ouds (Oud Laos and the Oud Assafi Oil) of which it is then stated that it is absent, and this statement on its merites is absurd. then also the Black Pepper Enormously (which is my idea of a Fabulous Perfume) with the other woody notes Vetiver, Patchouli, Cypriol Oil & the 2 Ouds. these all unite into One Hell of a Wall of Scent (primarily the ouds plus pepper) and they thrive throughout the entire perfume. in such a way that even Tuberose but also Jasmine (and the fruits which I don't smell anyway) seem muffled away, at least they have become occult in their presence. with their background buzz however they 'soften', 'sweeten' and refine this perfume further. it is my experience that only the rose (in other perfumes) is capable to keep its stand, stance, against and with oud. yet Oud Maracuja and another Ouds Tubereuse plus Monia di Orio's Oudh Osmanthus also put the respectable flowers and fruits forward. nevertheless I find this a brilliant, perhaps not the right word, acute and aplomb perfume with 'woodiness' as primary feature. the Packaging is nothing short of Undeniably Chic and Fabulous. I leave the enormous 'Bijou Cap' loose while I am afraid I may bust the entire cap, which seems impossible, bc I think the whole flacon weighs 8 kg.

Just popping in to say that this is NOT a replacement or more affordable alternative to Killian Dark Lord. Agar Royal does serve as a beautiful companion, rather than replacement though. I need to spend a bit more time with it, but Agar Royal is a silky smooth and well constructed blend. There is a slight overlap to Dark Lord with the jasmine/white floral sitting atop an earthy cypriol/vetiver base. Smelling this, it's unmistakable that they do share a few notes, and would not be surprised if they share a few aromachemicals/oils. However, Agar Royal is far softer and lighter and has a brighter disposition. It's a beautiful juxtaposition between the tuberose and jasmine, which are soft and feminine and almost "cloud like" sitting atop a very smooth vetiver, cypriol and oud base. The oud is very light and inoffensive, and seems rather posh, refined, and westernized. Dark Lord punches through with heavier cypriol, pepper, vetiver, leather, and well, heavier everything. The jasmine in Dark Lord is also stronger, while Agar Royal is primarily tuberose with jasmine behind it. Agar Royal also very successfully offers what I find to be true gender neutral experience. I'd love to smell this on a confident and classy woman, but wouldn't bat an eye smelling this on a well-dressed, stylish man. The question is more about a fit in style, personality, and temperament. I'm imagining wearing this on skin could really subdue or amplify certain notes though, so your mileage may vary on what notes are strongest. The overall experience is one of luxury, refinement, and seems to be for smooth operators only. While I like to categorize myself as one (at times), this may smell slightly too rich for my blood. I tend to like just a bit of roughness to have a fragrance fully speak to me, and while this one is beautiful, it doesn't fully suit my personality. 100% worth a look if you like the listed notes, or want a lighter/smoother counterpart to Dark Lord. A couple wearing Dark Lord + Agar Royal to wedding or formal event could be a helluva power move.

Well the name of this perfume is misleading. I think it needs tuberose in the name because I find tuberose to be the main note in it. It is a tuberose forward fragrance with some delicate oud in the background. It opens with a lot of tuberose on top and it stays even in the dry down. Not the biggest fan of oud + white florals. The performance of this perfume is good though. However, personally for me it was a blind buy fail. By the way, I simply can’t understand how some people find it similar to Voice of the snake by Gucci. To my nose, it has not similarities what so ever.

Agar Royal by Chopard is opulent, smooth, and easily the most beautiful oud I’ve ever smelled—silky, luminous, and regal without any barnyard roughness. Overall, it wears like royal wood polished with a gentle brightness—modern, luxurious, and perfect for evenings or cooler days when you want sophistication without heaviness.

I’m not a fan of white florals (ESP jasmine) or oud, so why did I blind buy a 3.4oz bottle of this? cause I’m a lunatic with a very expensive hobby who also loves having t h i n g s anyway if bitter had a smell it would be this, sometimes I get majority smooth floral sweetness of the jasmine and other times I get a pungent “dry bitterness” of the oud, it’s like they switch between the two with every wear had this since about may or june of this year, I’ll check back come january for updates

I am not an Oud lover but this scent is really good. The oud is clean and strangely beautiful. The white floral notes add sweetness and provide opportunity for women to enjoy it. The cypriol/patchouli combo is mild, it just adds a plush base for a very sophisticated scent. I like this a lot.

Herbal floral agarwood... Patchouli, pepper, orange, cypriol, bergamot, vetiver, and agarwood. I do sense some tonka as it has some sweetness added to the mix. This doesn't have oud, it's very "European interpretation style of oud that resembles oud and not actually oud" kind of blend.
