Its performance is rather good: it lasts about 6 hour on my skin and projects with just the right intensity. For me, this is a masterpiece for cooler weather and special occasions. It feels like wearing a piece of art, a tribute to the beauty of incense and smoky woods. It’s unique, evocative, and effortlessly elegant. Perfect for layering with fragrances like Grand Soir, Reflection, Velvet Vanilla or Tonka Impériale, to mention a few that will 'respect' it.. I really can’t recommend it enough to anyone who loves deep, smoky, and sophisticated fragrances

This is a superhit release by Alberto Morillas. A scent profile treading into the niche territory at designer prices. This is definitely on the smoky, incense take on middle eastern perfumery. The notes listed here are pretty misleading. The oud accord (not note) is a mix of cypriol oil, dark patchouli and labdanum but it feels premium and natural smelling. The "Spices" note comes from patchouli. The "oud" comes from cypriol oil and the "resins" note comes from the labdanum. The "leather" note comes from birch which is used to extract tar so it's smoky as well. How all of this smells like is an intoxicating trial of boozy, spicy patchouli that remains linear till the dry down along with the oud accord sweetened by the resin note. The leather smells a bit polarizing to untrained noses but offers that sweet incense smell that makes me want to keep having it on me. Performance is definitely much more than what you'd need for an evening fragrance. I could extract a good 5-6 hrs on skin and easily over 10 hrs on fabric, maybe even more as a skin scent. Projection is pretty strong for the first 3 or so hrs. Although I found this to be quite a liner scent profile, the quality of ingredients used and the blending by the master perfumer is really commendable. Scoop this at a discounter for a better bang for buck. Something much more approachable, mass pleasing than this and in the designer realm would be Bvlgari Man in black which Morillas himself crafted.

Finally I got my hands on this! It's a great creation by Morillas , this is exactly what I was looking for, smoky, leathery, elegant and some Oriental spice( A.M signature) , something that will smell quality without breaking the bank, finally a fragrance that match the description! I don't get the people that are saying that this has no similarities with Gucci,it the same leather,but a little bit tonned down with some incense and spices added, enough to make it more elegant and intriguing. It's starts strong,way above his price class, projection is that of a solid designer fragrance that it's well cemented in the 100+ bucks price category. paid the equivalent of 60 dollars here in Denmark.This is the scent that I was looking for without paying what a Killian Dark lord would have cost.The Malaki line has nothing to do with the average Boss,V&R,D&G or the usual suspects,this is somewhere between Gucci and Armani prive collection.Just my honest opinion.And by the way,it does reminds me a little bit of Black Orient ,back then when designer fragrances had a solid formulation! Definitely suits better a "southlandish" man ,or someone who doesn't like to mix with masses of people just for the sake of it.

Oh my GOD. THIS is everything I have been searching for in a fragrance!! I feel I can get rid of all my other cheap Middle Eastern ouds from Lattafa and AAZ because this blows them out of the water. Oud! Leather! Incense! Cumin! This is a delicious, smouldering, skanky beast. A little sweet, very woody, very smokey, skanky of spices and cumin, it's gorgeously dark and sexy. This is NOT a safe scent. Many will dislike it, many will say it smells like the sweaty ballsac of a motorcycle riding, chain smoking bad boy, who happens to have chosen today to drench himself in Hindi oud. This happens to be precisely what I wish to smell like, this is a home run for me. If you're not a fan of challenging Indian (Hindi) oud, you'll be repulsed by this. I'm not catching the frankincense specifically, which is mentioned in the blurb on the side of the box. Not in the way of say, Reve D'Ossian, which is pure Hojary frankincense. But there is a resinous accord that I would believe is frankincense related, and some others like benzoin and labdanum. Performance seems good, I sprayed it on a test strip and then left the room and when I got back, the room had filled with this delicious fragrance. I am a huge fan.

#1233 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Like every Chopard I've tried this is great quality for the price. Smoky, leathery, woody. The olibanum is pretty mild and it's always in the background. At first I thought this would be a "like" but it gets better as it dries and gets even woodier. The opening is similar to Guerlain, "Les Absolus d'Orient Oud Essentiel", but that one has a rose note this doesn't have and I prefer this. Projects arm's length for two hours, skin scent all day. An hour in it smells like a $200 bottle of "The Complex" by Boadicea the Victorious with the sharp olibanum and incense taken down a notch. So if you liked that scent (I love it) but found the incense overwhelming, as some complained, this may present a happy medium. . This isn't an animalic oud at all, so I think in moderation it's fine in close quarters, but it hangs in there better than most and I suspect it would hang around on clothing for a couple of days as The Complex does. For me this is more signature wear than date wear, but depends on your date I suppose. And I love the bottles in the Malaki series. For $55 this is pretty remarkable.

This draws a lot of similarities to Gucci Guilty Absolute in dry down for sure. I like both. GGA is more woody cypressy and this one is heavier smokier resinous. The combination of wood, leather, and cypress that makes GGA as people refer to band-aidy does not exist here so if you wanted something similar but less band-aidy this might be a good candidate. Like other fragrances in Malaki line, this is very high quality. Between this, GGA, and The Voice of the Snake that are similar, the voice of the snake is the better of all but its price tag snigs. OK enough talking about Gucci line here, this one opens woody leathery smoky resinous and continues like that but becomes more balanced. The dry down is definitely better. Silage is OK and longevity is fine. Although I love this one but I would recommend sampling it first. And this for sure is lying about being a unisex; spoiler alert: this is very masculine. Update: Now that I have worn several times, I can say that if GGA and Chopard Oud Malaki had a child, it would be this. It is something between the both. Beautiful scent and I really enjoy it.

I remember smelling this perfume for the first time at a store. The tester bottle was empty, but I could still sniff it off of the cap. For me this was love at first sniff. To me, it smells opulent, like how a classic Mercedes with leather seats would smell like. It is really dark, and polarising, not everyone would like it. But for those who have refined taste, would appreciate this as an art. Like I said, It smells really dark, smoky, and black leather (not animalic), exactly how the inside of an old classic car with leather seats would smell like. I like smoky, incense, leather fragrances. So this was right up my alley. I really love this perfume. Note - It is not mass appealing at all. Not everyone would like it. It is really dark, and smoky, not for all occasions and fits, but will suit really well for a night out wearing a black leather jacket. Not a safe blind buy. Def. test before buying. This is really strong, beast mode fragrance. Don't make a mistake of overspraying this. Not office safe at all, def. for night outs.

Another dark serious fragrance like the industrial petrol-like leather Gucci Guilty Absolute 🏭 ⛽ 🔥 Black Incense Malaki (Malaki means Royal 👑 in Arabic due to the use of Royal Frankincense from Oman 🇴🇲, the birthplace of the house of Amouage 😉) simply shines in terms of darkness & smokiness 🌫️ 🌫️ A true incense fragrance (not like Rien Intense Incense which is an aldehydic disappointment) where the incense is with you throughout the journey of the fragrance on your skin. Beautiful Oud Malaki flanker: they are not the same, but they are clearly from the same family. The opening is spicy, somewhat metallic, with a captivating personality. The special part is the leather: initially it is a nuance, but as it dries and the spices diminish, the leather gains a discreet but constant presence, leaving a residual odor on the clothes for days. I would love to have a fragrance that would enhance this photorealistic leather, without turning into Tuscan Leather or Ombrée Leather. It will be more suitable in cold weather, for an event even. Black Incense Malaki is spectacular creation by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, requiring a strong personality, otherwise, instead of wearing the fragrance, it will wear you.

I love leather, love smoke, love woods. I love this. Yes it starts out very similar to Gucci guilty absolute but that falls into the background after 30 minutes or so. If I put my nose close to wear it is applied I still smell the Gucci but it's that sweetness that resonates around me I love. Yes somewhat similar to spicebomb but better. My only complaint with this fragrance would be that I was hoping it would be smokier. This is a well put together fragrance that is just gorgeous, love at first smell. I get about 10-12 hours longevity with good project for almost three whole wearing. Top shelf stuff, highly recommend this one especially for the price is currently going for at the online discount shops.

First of all great dark masculine scent, yes masculine because this is isn't unisex scent at all, way to strong for a woman! Yes it has some similarities with Oud Malaki, but it is more darker with a pronounced leather note, but not so strong as Gucci Absolute. The first spray may be a little overwehlming but the difference is in the dry down. To my nose i say the closest 'friend' that shares the same scent is Man In Black Orient! I have chosen this one over Oud Malaki, because this is not sweet as Oud Malaki is, and I think it is better than OM. The performance is ok, max 6 h, and not a great projector! So, blind buy? Yes if you like dark scents....otherwise definetly not, can be very intrusive!

The newest, but the darkest of all Malaki series. The black bottle appearance is different from 4 other Malaki bottle. Perfect bottle to represent what's the juice inside. Dark, smoky incense, leathery, resinous balsamic amber and olibanum, opulence oud, and spice blends. Everything come together and create a beautiful majestic dry down. If you love oriental genre you will love it. Even the oud isn't offensive but pretty prominent. The performance is superb, and it's last long on my skin, as well as create good projection. The nose isn't listed by the house, but it feels like Morillas creation (maybe)

Put on a leather jacket and enjoy. Absolutely amazing, it, when I applied it in the morning, filled my entire room until after I arrived home from hanging out. Beware if you're really sensitive to leather or animalic scents don't buy it, test it first or try other leather fragrances to gain the love for leather. Not that the leather is too animalic, although for someone who isn't used to this level of perfumes it may be weird. Having said that it's top 3 of all perfumes I have ever smelt in my entire life. Excellent price for this, paid 48€ for a coffret of this stuff, absolutely incredible.

I feel obligated to review this one. This one is VERY skin dependent. The gasoline note you hear below only comes out on light cold skin. This is a dream on Middle Eastern warm skin (what this series is designed for). It’s an amazing perfume I get 7 hours easy. Average projection. It’s a very bukhoor-isque It has a bit of oud malaki-amber malaki and smoke Very very unique and formal People in the Middle East will understand this. It’s as if you immersed yourself in Maroke or Kalimantan oud chips smoke. For the price i think its great. This one is 90% Penhaligon’s Halfeti Leather..

Sweet, ambery, gucci guilty absolute/ the voice of the snake. The perfumer is not mentioned but 100% without a doubt it’s Alberto Morillas because it has his DNA all over this masterpiece. One of the most underrated hidden gems. I have two backup bottles and going to buy more before they murder it or gets reformulated. Scent: 9/10 its a little too sweet for my taste. (Maple syrup like smell) Performance: 7.5/10 Not a heavy projector but will leave a nice sweet gucci guilty absolute and the voice of the snake trail behind you when you move or walk.

Beautiful scent yes it reminds me of Philip plain no limits which is very similar to gucci guilty absolute This is really beautiful UPDATE so to my nose as I said it's remarkably similar to Philip plein no limits but to me this is more richer and denser and not as rough as Philip plein, also it is more balsamic and gooey the leather here not as strong as Philip plein and for me the leathery phase lasted for about 10 minutes in the opening before it was taken over by all the woods, spices and resins Am really happy with this beauty

I get the oud malaki vibe but it's different enough to own both. It's a bit softer but definitely there and lasts for a very long time. If you get some on your shirt it's there until you wash it. I get a very good leather smell with weirdly a touch of banana. Sounds weird but it is heavenly, very late in drydown maybe there is some incensy vibe but don't expect smoky incense. It's just not there. My little son complemented me that I smelled so nice with this on so it is likeable for some people. I personally love it 9,5/10 for me.

Amazing perfume especially for its low price, i bought a few of the malaki perfumes and this one is just something else, definitely worth its price, in my opinion its more masculine like and dark, spicy metalic with leathery smokey wood/oud, projection is pretty good , anyone around you or passing by you will smell the perfume, i personally stopped smelling a 30 mins after (seems my nose got accustomed), lasts well over a day but the smell itself becomes weaker after 5-7 hours and the leather becomes more noticable, Great Perfume!

Even with the power, it keeps a polite luxury vibe—no headache, no shouting. If you’re curious about dark smoky scents but afraid of overkill, this one is a safe door in. Real hidden gem in the high-end shelf.

This is beautiful: slightly gamey, sweet amber, dark, resinous, with the scent of un-burnt incense. Very rich smelling and assertive. Might be polarizing for some especially if they don't animalistic and leather profile. Me personally, it is one of my favorites in the collection. I love how dark earthy and sweet amber profile blend together. Definitely could be a clubbing or date night fragrance but make sure your date loves the scent or they might think just came out a barn 😆 🐎

Suits two worlds: dark elegance, rich and luxurious, yet, fits a worn-out motorcycle leather jacket too. Aromatic leathery-woody aura with a shroud of velvety oud. Dark and strong in the opening but softens in the mid and dry-down. Performance is good and I get nice whiffs from it. Funny enough but BIM reminds me of "noir" films for its punch and charisma, think: The Third Man, Ghost Rider, Underworld or Sin City. It is a great perfume and delivers good niche-level value.

To me this blend is a piece of Art ! Definitely for matured audience and truly a statement making scent. What I get from this bottle is a refined rich smoky incense in the opening and dries down with a touch of beautiful Oud and leather. When I smelled at the first spray, I became fan and after a week of usage I bought one more bottle as a backup. Good for fall and winter night-out scent. Fragrance - 10/10 Sillage - 8/10 Longevity - 8/10

To me this smells like Phillip Plein No Limit$, same leather accord, other people say it smells like Dark Lord by Killian, others say Gucci Guilty Absolute.... what do ALL these scents have in common? They are all made by Alberto Morillas, draw your own conclusions. edit: I can't see how this is unisex. I mean you have scents like Noir Extreme from Tom Ford or Stronger with You Freeze marketed as men scents and then this as unisex.

It is the first fragrance I owned from the malaki line And let me tell you this one is a stellar Enjoyed every second with this one Oud - leather - incense It is very well made and deserves respect I believe this line is overlooked and should be experienced more It kept radiating for almost 6 hours then it just falls down less than a skin scent begging for you to reapply I love this scent

Luxurious. Polished and refined. It's not an easy note to tame and not an easy note to wear, yet in this creation it is at its best and intensified to the maximum. Roaming in freedom and darkness. Spectacular. Smelling surprisingly floral on me. Incense at its most natural, barely starting to burn. The smoke is all around it, but the essense remains wet, aromatic, juicy. Beautiful.

The scent to put it simply, is a POWERHOUSE! The sillage and longevity are absolutely enormous. If you’re not a hardcore oud & incense lover you might want to set this one aside. It starts off with smoky spicy incense, then it dries down to be the strong leather dark delicious bomb of oud. Ps. Not for the oversprayer crowd nor the faint of heart. 10/10

Extremely good value for the price. Blind bought, I was a bit afraid from some comments here stating that this fragrance is not for everyone. I am not a parfum connoisseur but I have to say that Chopard Incense Maliki . Love the opening its dark and mysterious and the drydown , exquisite I dont think is a challenging parfum but you have to like smoky and incensee fragances. Not a great sillage and litle projection. For the price , it worth blind buy.

A lot of people compare this to Gucci Guilty Absolute, and it does share similarities with it. But it is actually closer to Varvatos Dark Rebel, just with everything amped up in quality and performance. It does have a little stronger leather note than Dark Rebel. I love it - 9/10 fragrance for me.

Not a review! Rather i just want to ask a question does someone's fragrance started smelling animalic or fecal with time ? Or it's just my fragrance that's gone bad. Because i remember the first sniff of this fragrance it was very smooth and round nothing animalic at all.

One of my best fragrances of all times. It’s just awesome in winter and it makes me feel happy sniffing my wrist after wearing it for hours and the scent is still there. Try a sample first, may not be for you. It’s that special.

Really Liked it, it really reminds me of the Epic Jubilation XXV (men) from Amouage, not a clone but in the same ballpark, for me it's in the same realm of jubilation and ACCD from Andy Tauer... Real value for money.

On paper, the structure reads intense and shadowed, centered on oud, leather, and resin rather than brightness or restraint. Expectations here lean toward atmosphere and weight rather than subtlety. Let’s step into the smoke and see how deep this darkness runs. Opening: The opening is leathery, woody, and smoky. The primary notes I get are leather, oud, smoke, and spices, with leather and oud clearly leading the composition. The leather arrives first with a sharp, biting character that feels unapologetically animalic and textured. It leans more rugged than smooth, carrying a slightly raw edge that immediately establishes intensity. The primary notes I get are leather, olibanum, oud, and spices, with leather and olibanum now clearly commanding the composition. While the structure remains faithful to the opening, the balance shifts. The olibanum moves decisively to the forefront, amplifying its resinous, incense-like character and giving the fragrance a deeper ceremonial tone. It feels more pronounced here, creating a glowing, sacred warmth that aligns seamlessly with the name. The leather maintains its presence, still textured and slightly animalic, but now softened by the surrounding resins. Oud continues to provide a dark, earthy woodiness beneath the incense, reinforcing the shadowed backbone without overwhelming it. Meanwhile, the spices persist in the background, offering a steady warmth that supports rather than dominates. At this stage in the wear, the comparisons to Crying of Evil are even more stark. Performance: Projection is very strong in the first hour, easily capable of filling a room and establishing a commanding presence. The scent trail mirrors that intensity early on, leaving a dense and heavy impression that matches the fragrance’s dark profile. After roughly four hours, projection softens slightly but still reaches several feet, and the sillage remains clearly noticeable though less forceful than at the outset. By the seven hour mark, performance drops more noticeably, with projection settling within arm’s length and the scent trail becoming faint. Shortly thereafter, it transitions into a skin scent. Interestingly, while others around me struggled to detect it at that stage, I continued to catch strong intermittent whiffs when moving, suggesting that its diffusion can linger in motion even as it quiets in the air. When to Wear: Black Incense Malaki is firmly a fall and winter fragrance, thriving in cooler air where its smoke, leather, and resin can expand without overwhelming. It is best suited for evening wear, particularly in intimate or atmospheric settings where its darker character feels intentional rather than excessive. It works well for special occasions such as date nights and can function in formal environments if applied conservatively. However, its heavy nature makes it unsuitable for casual daytime wear and especially inappropriate for office settings where restraint is necessary. This is a fragrance that demands mood and setting. Blind Buy: Black Incense Malaki is not a safe blind buy. Its dark, resin-heavy structure and pronounced leather-oud pairing give it a shadowy intensity that will not appeal to everyone. This is a fragrance for those who genuinely appreciate dense incense, animalic leather, and shadowed woods rather than brightness or versatility. While it is well composed, its stylistic commitment makes personal compatibility essential. Sampling is strongly recommended before considering a full bottle. Final Verdict: I enjoyed Black Incense Malaki for what it sets out to be: a dark, resin-saturated composition that leans confidently into leather, oud, and smoke without apology. As it develops, the incense qualities become more pronounced, and the interplay between leather and olibanum gives the fragrance a focused identity that aligns well with its name. For something built on dense resins and oud, I anticipated more endurance in the air. Beyond that, there is also the matter of overlap. With Crying of Evil already occupying a similar space in my buy list, the distinction here is not strong enough to justify redundancy. Black Incense Malaki is well crafted and enjoyable in its own right, but when weighing performance, overlap, and overall necessity, it falls short of earning a permanent place in my lineup.
