Bois Nomades

I have owned this fragance for about a year now. It is a high quality winter , fall and early spring favorite for me. A very male leaning, but smooth woody, amber and tobacco scent that Alberto Morillis has made in a very beautiful way. If one is going in the direction of darker wood and tobacco this is an excellent choice. I wear fragrances for myself and I can tell you my wife doesn't get to smell any of my fagrances until the intimate drydown, so I can't comment on sillage . Longevity is there and the skin scent is still there the next morning. It's a beautiful scent and since I have a winter/fall fragrance now that I really like , there is absolutely no reason, or incentive to buy another in the genre.

This is amazing. It’s probably my favorite from this line, my favorite used to be or de calambac. This starts off weirdly alcoholic, like some kind of wine or something like that and I say weirdly because there are no alcohol notes. I don’t smell any tobacco or pepper but the rose is present, it’s a dark rose. I also smell the myrrh but no oud at all. The dry down is to die for though, in the dry down I get the opoponax but here it smells like it’s been lit and you smell the sweetness that it lets out when you burn it. 9/10 for me

Bois Nomades was released as one of three fragrances in the Master of Woods collection created to mark the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The entire series focuses on different woods, and the central theme here is oud. The opening shows cinnamon and clove, producing a lightly spicy tone. The projection does not burst outward; instead, the scent carries a certain density and weight from the start. Soon after, rose begins to surface. It is a dry rose, without sweetness or moisture. The resinous character of the oud is more prominent than the rose, with a faint smoky nuance. This combination defines the core identity of the fragrance. In the drydown, cedar and benzoin create a dense, dark woody base. Longevity can vary with conditions, but typically there is still a noticeable trace of wood and incense on clothing after about six hours. There is limited novelty in the composition, yet the overall quality remains consistent and reliable.

Just bought it. After two hours, my skin smells Cedar Malaki which is one of my winter favorities. Maybe drydown is different after few hours. Aigle Imperial is my favorite in Gardens of the Kings-series, after that this and Agar Royal. Or de Calambac is good, but used only occasionally. Fine fragrances them all. Bought also a bottle of Elie Saab Essence No. 4 Oud. Testing it tomorrow.

The rosiest one in the collection, I can see how it would remind someone of Nuit des Rois, but this surpasses it in rosiness and is a darker scent overall with less sweetness. Or so I seem to remember, Nuit des Rois is the only one I don't own. This is a dark, jammy, well-blended, nice enough rose-dominant scent. Edit: In the far drydown I'm getting that leathery oud Assafi that Morillas loves working with. I wish I could find that "hookah accord" early promo materials were talking about, but alas all I get is a nice dark rose, dry resins in the background, and leathery oud in the next-day drydown. Edit edit: This is class in a bottle, it's perfectly ratioed in my opinion. Oud-rose combos tend to go way too rosy, weirdly oudy, too jammy, or whatever, but this is perfectly balanced oud and rose. Remarkable job. Might just be the best rose-centric oud scent I tried/own.
