Casmir

I have found my new signature scent! After having covid in the beginning of this year, my sense of smell first went away, then came back but everything smelt weird or off. Now everything is back to normal... Well, almost. I don't like most of my perfumes anymore. There's a note in a few of them that I pick up on - that I didn't before - that I very much DISLIKE. So I'll have to throw most of them out, I'll keep a few in hopes of liking them again. I also recently turned 30 and may or may not be in the beginning stages of menopause, so that could be a cause too. But so began my quest to find new ones that I love! To the perfume store I went. Of course, I got doused in perfume and after a while I got so overwhelmed that I left the store, without a perfume. Now I have to admit that I often fall in love with perfumes on their dry down - so that means on the way home when I don't remember what's on my arm anymore. And so of course, indeed I fell in love with one of the dry downs not knowing which one of the 25 I tried, it was. I thought it must be Just Cavalli! I almost ordered it, but something told me it wasn't the one. I went back the week after and sprayed both Casmir (just in case) and Just Cavalli, two that I was sure of that I tried earlier. And I went home.... And there it was again. That wonderful, vanilla-y, peachy, comforting dry down. It's SO good, it brings up so many memories of my happy childhood, I feel butterflies and comfort when I smell it. But it was Casmir that I sprayed there! A vintage perfume! That so many people say smells like grandma! That can't be, can it? No it HAD to be! However the weirdest thing was that Casmir smelt the way I was expecting Just Cavalli to smell (luxurious vanilla-y sweet and warm), and Just Cavalli smelt the way I was expecting Casmir to smell (harsh dry down, very linear, way to woodsy, very vintage in all the wrong ways). I found myself wondering if I accidentally switched them in my mind. But I took the gamble, and ordered Casmir as I was fairly certain that was really the one - also by the reviews on here. So here it is on my lap, it just came in. I just fell in love all over again (on the third sniff). This, to me, is a hug in a bottle. Pure happiness, yummy desserts, butterflies in your stomach, mommy's old powder box that you secretly played with. All the good things really. What a find in my quest to new favourites. If your still wondering on whether to try it, don't hesitate, buy it. This is out of this world - especially for that price. Edit: Small addition (jan 2024) because I see lots of people after me say that it smells soapy. It might be body chemistry, because I despise soapy perfumes and this one does not smell soapy on me at all. This is one of the few perfumes where the dry-down smells so different than the initial spray on, that it could have been a different perfume. So don't judge it on first spray initially, and if you do like the first spray, wait a bit for the drydown (especially on fabric) to see if you like that too (although I can't imagine anyone not liking the drydown lol). But I actually came here to say that the dry-down gives me a white chocolate vibe as well, making my mouth water whenever I get a whiff of it. Just because I haven't seen anyone else say that yet :) It's quite comforting to know it's been around forever and it'll probably stay that way. I really hope it does, for now I'm not worried whenever mine runs out and I'll just buy a new one. So I can use it all the time. Quite a comforting thought for some reason.

Chopard Casmir This fragrance is all the magic and beauty of India in a bottle; the rich exotic food, the beaded handwoven detail on a silk sari, the saffron robes of the holy men, the chai wallas, the sweet houses, the crazy happy beat of banghra, the painted elephants, the festival of light with the floating twinkling candles on the Ganges, the temples, the garlands of marigolds, the henna on a new brides hands – all of it, even the beautiful architecture is captured on the bottle! I knew I was going to love this one even before I sniffed it just because of the bottle alone, but I had no idea that this fragrance would become a lifelong love affair and I never knew that a fragrance could change my life. Let me explain... When this fragrance first came out, they ran full page ads in Seventeen magazine showing a woman walking through the streets of Kashmir in a pink dress with huge rose flowers. She leaned against a burgundy Mercedes and wore a big turquoise squash blossom necklace. I had that exact dress, I had that exact car in that exact color, I had the squash blossom necklace too, but I had never been to India and I didn’t have the perfume. So, I went out and bought the perfume and a seed was planted in my mind. I wore it every day for years, before I even knew what a signature scent was, and I became increasingly curious about the world outside of my little beach town, but especially curious about Kashmir. Around the same time, I became obsessed with the Led Zeppelin song Kasmir. I played it so many times that my best friend Carlos, who usually went along with my reindeer games, begged me to stop. He even hid my CD from me, and gave me other CDs to listen to, but it was no use. After that, I knew I had to go there. What kind of magical place must it be to inspire such a gorgeous perfume and such a sexy song? I had to find out for myself! I finally did go to India and it was everything I imagined and more. It was the beginning of my love of travel, the beginning of my insatiable desire for new places, new things, new people, new ideas; a love that has spanned my entire life, as has my love for this fragrance. I cannot imagine Casmir NOT being in my fragrance wardrobe. There is no other perfume that is so warm and comforting and yet so exotic all at the same time. To me, it’s what well traveled women wear. It’s rich and full and heady. It’s not spicy but not plain by any means. It’s not flat but not sharp. There are no jagged edges. From the initial spritz to the final drydown, it’s magic in a bottle. I have the big bottle, but if they sold it in barrels, I would probably prefer something larger. This is a classic.

Ever on the hunt for REAL perfume, something other than the same ol' boring, watered down fruity, Hi-C, cotton candy confections of now which only call themselves perfumes *yawn* this is an exquisite jewel. Chopard Casmir is a luxe vanilla bomb laced with just enough boozy, fuzzy peach skin to smell somewhat fruity. I do not detect much fruit other than peach but the creamy, dreamy benzoin, sandalwood and opoponax make for an intoxicating elixir of pure old style glam without smelling "old". What a rich, gorgeous vanilla amber we have here! Casmir is a highly sophisticated, classically beautiful perfume that is not messing around. This fragrance is right up there with the best classics of all times. Think Shalimar, Chanel 5, etc., though exclusive in its own celestial way. Royal and warm like the finest fur with multi strands of genuine pearls around the neck; black, white or cream, take your pick as this scent is so fabulously neutral and naturally rich with nothing screechy or synthetic, Cashmir classes up your favorite pair of faded jeans and makes the most luxurious couture even hotter. I vehemently disagree with the comparison to Vanilla Fields. Also, Hanae Mori. I own both. Coty only wishes and I adore Hanae Mori (fruiter) which is in the same playing field but not in this high league. I'm smelling more of a vintage Arpege-y vibe sans so much peachy rose and "dust", though I am still an Arpege lover. It is a sultry night here and this scent is heating it up even more. I had to test run my new miniature before going big. I'm feeling dirty-rotten-filthy-stinkin'-rich... and slutty. The addictive benzoin is taking the lead now with a hint of cinnamon and FINE sandalwood. I feel dressed in liquid silk of deep purple, teal and gold; like a desert queen... and my husband (who hates most perfume) just came up behind me, kissed my neck, said I smelled "delicious" and *ahem* a few other things before going to bed. Um.. I'm buying the biggest bottle I can find. Outstandingly, gloriously divine! Just... wow! Perfection. Almost too beautiful to believe and I am ecstatic. *sly cheesy grin with mischievous twinkle in eye* I am far from sleepy but going to bed. *wink*

I see a lot of reviews bashing the modern formulation, so to clarify: my mini bottle was gifted and it's vintage. "Casmir" by Chopard is (technically?) one of the first gourmands, although to my nose it's too woody to remind me of food. Released right after Angel, it does not contain the sugary "bubble gum" ethyl maltol smell of Angel. It's a straightforward, but dynamic and well made vanilla perfume. To my nose the opening is very 90s. Warm, soft, baked fruit notes. Fuzzy osmanthus, with an abstract, smooth peach note, and a similar "coconut" note to Hypnotic Poison & Far Away; it has a subtle tropical fruit smell, but it's more muted and nutty than modern coconut notes. The heart of this perfume is deceptive, the notes are meant to meld with the vanilla. It retains a fruitiness, but I begin to smell sweet jasmine, warm spices, and woody musks at this phase. I'm surprised that geranium is listed, are we sure it isn't carnation? The base is dense and very woody; peppery cedar, sandalwood, the patchouli is soft and powdery. Benzoin, opoponax, vanilla, tonka. Warm but not overtly animalic musks. Like most vanillas, the texture is a bit plastic-y. I find the powdery and peppery aspects to sufficiently veil the plastic smell, but if it bothers you... go vintage, or allow the perfume some maturation time, vanilla notes deepen and the plastic scent is not as noticeable. The Fragrantica notes never relay the whole story, there is so much more going on in this perfume than what is listed. Something about it smells boozy and savory. It's cozy, relaxing, unique, and wonderful. I'm not usually one for vanilla, but I rate this vanilla as excellent. One of the best vanillas I've tried, and great value at its price. It has all sorts of subtle nuances to give it depth and intrigue, it's one of the rare vanillas that is not boring to wear. I'm sure Chopard gave him a decent budget to work with, but Michel Almairac is very talented. I think Casmir ('92) a bit better than Vanilla Fields ('93) and Vanilla Musk ('94), although I have not tested Hanae Mori ('96).

Olfactive Diary Entry #50 I was walking through a department store after a "sniff session" with my girlfriend. As we were exiting the store, I walked past a display featuring Cašmir gift sets, with perfume and shower gel for only €14,99. In an instant, a childhood olfactory memory washed over me, and I remembered how it smelled, even though my last encounter with it must have been 30 years ago. I sprayed the tester on a strip, and indeed, there it was. Comforting and warm. Brightly solar and uplifting. Full-bodied with ambery and oriental notes. Well-blended and distinct. I thought it might smell dated, but it quickly corrected my assumption. This is actually timeless and perhaps even quite "of the now", especially considering how it fits perfectly with the current trends of vanillary, gourmands, and tropicals. My friend and I had just been smelling through a vast array of Serge Lutens fragrances and all of Chloe's botanical line; wonderfully unique, high-quality fragrances - yet it's Cašmir that jumped out, making the strongest impression. My friend also reacted very positively to it, having never smelled it before. I see that there is a lot of fruity notes listed here, but I barely experience them at all (the peach, mango, and bergamot). I also cannot sense the lily-of-the-valley. Instead, I arrive straight at the basenotes: the warm vanilla, the sensual amber, grounded by a pleasant dryness of sandalwood and musk. The coconut also lingers quite well. Needless to say, I bought it as a birthday gift to myself. It's an easy, non-offensive reach and a perfect all-rounder. Tropical and beachy in the summer, comforting and embracing in the colder seasons. It doesn't project far, which is my personal preference, but it creates a cozy aura around you. A long-lived classic for good reasons.

vintage but lovely paints the image of lux lisbon in the virgin suicides crying in her top. paints the image of night blooming flowers that could kill you. datura . brugmansia. smells peachy and woody , vanillic and floral. not something you would stumble across in modern perfumery where the vanilla accords are much more vanilla soliflore , this is something back in time but not so back in time it feels nausating like organza from givenchy for an example , think of a very old mall you grew up going to and the bittersweet feeling of going back to that mall recently with the aroma of the past but something is comforting and lovely. amber and peach come first , floral notes and vanilla come after. smells like the illusion of an apple blossom even tho i have never seen an apple blossom in real life or smelled one. keep in mind it is sweet but not too sweet. suitable for everyday wear. i know this review is very childish or pherhaps over-the-top but i feel like once you smell this perfume you get it like it speaks to your olfactory soul. when i say i have never smelt something so captivating i mean it. i have gotten comments about wearing other classic perfumes that have made me stop wearing them but i get nice comments with this one, i believe it is due to the fact that this perfume fits my culture and the culture of the people around me and evokes a feeling of nostalgia. personality of the perfume : loud but quiet , antisocial and sentimental but warm and easy to go to.

This is my favourite childhood perfume. Whenever my mom would wear it in the 1990s I would be happy. I stole it from her sometimes, just to spray it on my arms and have a whiff of it. So lovely. The 90s version was much stronger, yes, but the current version has a very good resemblance to it. I immediately recognised Casmir when I sprayed my new version. How does it smell like? Imagine smelling peaches being cooked on the hob and someone has put a couple of wintery spices, but mainly vanilla into it. So that is the base note. Warm, wintery, slow cooked peaches with winter spices. It has been cooking for a long time already and all the spices have blended well into the peach sauce. But there is more to it. Now imagine at the same time as the vanilla-peach desert simmering on the hob, someone is shaving their pencils. Yes, that's right: Shaving their lipliner pencils to be precise. Lots of them. So basically Casmir has a woody, but fresh woody base note. Like pencil shaving. I mentioned the lip liner pencil shavings as there is something make-up-y to the pencil shavings. Now this may sound like the most horrendous thing someone can possibly put anywhere near them, but it totally works. Well, for me it does as it is one of my favourite perfumes. It works best around autumn and winter. I would also wear it more for formal and evening occasions. It's a mature perfume, a grown up perfume. It has a warmth, heaviness and depth to it. I love it!

In 1995, I had just graduated from university and was working as a temp, barely making ends meet. I would window shop for entertainment, never buying anything, just dreaming. I came across this at a perfume counter, loved the bottle, and tried some on. And Oh. My. God. I couldn't believe how wonderful it was. It reminded me slightly of the Body Shop vanilla oil I wore as a student, but so much richer, so much more grown-up and sophisticated. I stood at the counter in a bit of a haze, calculating whether or not I could possibly get it. Dressed as I was (poor young person), I'm sure I wasn't very impressive to the saleswoman who happened upon me standing there in awe. In any case, she very snottily explained to me that the bottle I was holding was very expensive. I don't know what came over me, but to prove her wrong in her estimation of me, I asked her if the store carried the parfum version. Her tune changed pretty quick, and she reached behind the counter and retrieved a very small, very expensive bottle. I said I'd take it. I paid with the last of the money in my account, my grocery money, It was a hungry month, but I never regretted it. Casmir is the smell of my adventures as a young woman out in the world for the first time. It doesn't quite have the same effect on my nose nowadays (it's not nearly so grown-up seeming now), but I still love it. It costs a lot less money than it did back then, too!

Complete pyramid: Top notes: peach, apricot, blackcurrant, raspberry, mango, coconut and bergamot. Heart notes: mandarin, carnation, cinnamon, jasmine, geranium and lily of the valley. Base notes: vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean, opoponax, amber, musk, patchouli and sandalwood. Quite incredibly considering the pyramid, on my skin what stands out the most is the wood and spices. The two stars for me are opoponax, woody and smoky like an incense stick, and carnation, spicy. Cinnamon probably plays a role but I don't smell it distinctly. After a few minutes, the vanilla begins to appear and take up more space. I'm starting to detect fuzzy fruity smells in the background (to my nose, it's the peach and coconut that stand out the most), but no matter how hard I look, I can't find this "sugary fruit salad" mentioned by some. Not at all sweet or syrupy, on my skin we are on a vanilla/woody/balsamic and slightly fruity oriental in all its splendor. I am personally delighted; I love spicy and woody orientals, and this incense side gives it a “mysterious” or even “mystical” side which I really like. I feel like an Egyptian priestess wandering through the temple of Abu Simbel when I wear it, so for me it will be in summer too! Casmir is therefore the kind of perfume to absolutely test on your skin because apparently, you won't all have the same experience...

My sister discovered this perfume last year and it smells great on her. I tried it a couple of times and liked wearing it, so she gave it to me for Christmas this year. I'm so very happy with this gift. Warm, sweet, juicy - it hugs me like a golden cloud without weighing me down or overwhelming me. Casmir -is- a strong scent compared to many more recent ones, but it's just beautiful. More in the tradition of past perfume highlights it does not at all feel dated to me. Although I have to admit I'm not really very in touch with that concept. To me something either smells good or it doesn't and personally I'm just glad of variety! Peachy, powdery and creamy, warm, juicy, vanilla, sandalwood, some floral notes - is what I get. The opening is an explosion of apricots and peaches, mandarins. The powderiness increases with time on my skin, the vanilla and fruit finally get more balanced. Stays like that for a couple of hours. Compliment getter. Edit: I wonder why the notes given on this page don't match the description above at all. There it says: "Top notes are peach, apricot, black currant and raspberry; middle notes are mandarin orange, carnation and cinnamon; base notes are vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean and opoponax." - most of which aren't even listed in the notes section.

Again, another blind buy as I couldn’t smell it anywhere, but considering the price I thought it was worth it. I’m so glad I bought it! It is absolutely wonderful scent and I loved it from start! I understand the name now, it’s like when you’re dressed in cashmere and feeling cozy and comforting - that’s the feeling Casmir brings to me. It’s sweet, but not cloying, it’s rather a gourmand scent. At first spray I sense peaches and a bit of coconut verry well blended with vanilla. The overall smell is of fruits, maybe some white flowers, vanilla, some amber and sandalwood and even though fruits or flowers are not my usual “go for” type of blends in perfumes, Michel Almairac blended them absolutely stunning together, thus creating this gorgeous scent, feminine and luxurious, which I regret not having purchased earlier - I’m thinking about it for many, many years now. Just hope it won’t get discontinued, as many other glorious perfumes did. The price is literally insane given the beauty of this one. Sillage is moderate to strong and longevity seems moderate. I will test it this week to see clearly and maybe edit later. I will definitely purchase one for my mom and at least another backup for me because I really want to wear Casmir this autumn and winter.

A warm, gentle, and sweet, fruity yet peppery fragrance. I marvel at how this scent can embody so many elements at once and still remain balanced and delightful. The fragrance is a symphony of numerous sensory impressions. The opening is slightly tangy, yet buttery and tropical. It conjures images of ripe fruit and sweet drinks. Then, there is a brief moment where the scent becomes peppery and slightly floral, beneath the ever-present fruitiness. The fragrance never turns floral in a way that it could be defined as such. Shortly after this phase, the scent settles gently, with vanilla, amber, musk, sandalwood, and a hint of patchouli supporting the beautiful fruit notes. They fade away in harmonious unison until only a trace of vanilla remains. The longevity isn't particularly impressive, lasting up to 4 hours. But what enchanting hours they are, especially given the incredibly affordable price of the fragrance. I am overwhelmed by the beauty contained in this inexpensive perfume. I find the scent very sophisticated and, at the same time, incredibly uplifting and cheerful. Absolutely delightful fragrance, which I have grown to love despite having a few hundred others in my collection. A tropical, buttery, and deliciously feminine scent.

So, even my Mum had to say, this is what the original boujie smells like. It’s not the ‘works all the time and never leaves the office’ kind of boujie, it’s like Old Money... she might be broke but lives in a chateaux and only drinks milk that she grows/milks on her family farm/garden... and that’s if she’s not sipping champagne and *pretending* to be a hedonist. She is cultured, understands heritage and lineage, watches a few black and white movies - but only to be a critical thinker, not to be deep. She’s effortlessly dramatic, realising that standing out too much when you’re this sumptuous can become a security hazard... so she learns how to pretend that she’s small. She could have a fortune, but know how to relate anyone or anything... but she’s never poor because she knows riches is more than just about finances... I honestly am surprised with this too. Been pairing it with Cabochard, just for the fun of it. Lastly... I am honestly buying sooo many more. The first time I wish they sold parfum in 230+ml bottles Oh and yeah, if you’re into fruity fresh florals, that’s like teenage girl coming of age stuff... this might depress you a little lol. You might remember you’re going to have to grow up one day.

While I strive to enjoy this perfume, I still find this a really difficult one to wear. In a similar way to D&G's The One, this smells somewhat barfy on me. I think this is truly the original gourmand fragrance, but it's waaaay too photorealistic. And the combination of indolic white florals and a bunch of fruity notes is a really, really bad idea. I'm left with the impression of a rotting, barfy peach cobbler. Edit: this perfume has been sitting and mascersting now for 3 years and I recently decided to give it another try and boy oh boy am I glad I did. It's transformed into one of the most beautiful, complex and addictive fragrances I own! I'm quite floored by how much my experience with this has changed. Now, I spray it on and I'm enveloped by shadowy, effervescent, slightly sweet and resinous puff of purring perfection. It's timeless, feminine, and comforting in a similar way to Cartier's La Panthere and I'm so happy I've kept her.

I bought this after Fragonard discontinued my favorite perfume of all time, Miranda as I saw many comments saying Miranda is actually a dupe for this. It's undeniable the two are very similar, but Casmir is perhaps a richer and more complex scent than Miranda. I also think this leans warmer and spicier and the lack of ylang-ylang in Casmir makes it less of a year round staple and more of a fall/winter workhorse as a result. I do love this scent though and despite it being launched in 1992, there is something timeless, elegant and comforting about this perfume. I think this is a perfume that can work with a woman in her 20s as well as it could work with a woman in her 50s or 60s. It's scent that is easy to wear in the cooler months and is appropriate in almost any situation. Now that I've discovered this, I will probably always have a bottle in my collection for fall/winter.

I bought Chopard Cašmir back in 2001, and kept buying it for 6 or 7 years. An intoxicating vanilla woody sofisticated acent. The dry down would only get better. After the EU changed regulations around 2010, Casmir formulation changed. I’m not an expert, but it’s not as intense as before. The silage changed. Sometimes I test it and sample on my wrist, when I’m at the store, still looking for the same feeling. The main accord is there. it’s just less intense (less woody and warm) for me. But I’m delighted that this is still around ad available! 🥰🥰🥰 I used to wear it every time I went dancing (I'm a tango dancer). At the milonga, dancing close to each other, Casmir got me a lot of compliments. But I would wear it for myself, for the pleasure of dancing with my eyes closed, the music and the embrace, inhaling Casmir was intoxicating! PS: I fully agree with Diana2015 below.

I like it so much! The sweetest and sexiest ambery peach in the world. It sounds waaaay more expensive than it costs. There are rumours that it is discontinued - hopefully not, this scent is a legend! I blind bought it and got something much better than I could ever expect. It is gourmand made in very sophisticated way so you will not smell like food. I feel sun-ripened sweet peach, warmed by the sun, with a red blush on its soft skin, and this peach is wrapped up in an elegant ambery base with a touch of vanilla. If you love sweet oriental scents, you will probably like Casmir a lot. I wasn’t even born when this fragrance was created, yet I don’t find it dated at all! On the contrary, I actually find it très chic and wearable. Gonna buy a backup bottle and get my hands on a vintage version - that’s how much I liked this perfume!

Addictive in Summer high heat! I have a newer formulation, but I believe there is an even newer packaging/formulation out now. **interesting to see how the notes are different from the original description vs. whatever the latest is. Have the notes changed much with every production?** From my memory, this still smells like "Casmir" overall, but I don't have a vintage to compare it to. The bottle I have, I absolutely love for hot weather only. The more dreadful the heat is, the better (and I don't enjoy hot weather!). It's sweet but not an oozing/sticky mess. It's rich and feminine, powdery and spicy. A luscious vintage peach, but doesn't smell dated. In colder weather, it's flat and smells like vanilla plastic with some nuances of the original spiciness on my skin--total disappointment! Not anymore. It's a keeper.

Criticizing, demolishing and minimizing an iconic item like Chopard's Casmir for free means having no knowledge of the history of world perfumery. Intense sillage. Duration that is remembered. Marvelous.

Casmir is like a dream of vanilla and amber dotted with wonderful fruits, the peach shines like a star in the firmament. I love this genuine sweetness, it's such a cozy 90s gourmand. I always look forward to autumn and winter so I can use my sweet perfumes and Casmir always makes me smile and purr like a satisfied kitten, she is gorgeous. I adore that sensation of sweet perfume that embraces me, that covers me with its candidness. I recommend that you look for the vintage, there are times when I enjoy reformulations (and although to a lesser extent I even like some reformulations more), but this time I am very categorical in recommending the vintage, the current Casmir is not so sweet and its sillage and durability are very low compared to the vintage Casmir...

I've been wearing Casmir since 2000. Before I went full-blown perfumista, this scent was in regular rotation. I've had this bottle since 2009. Unfortunately, for any bottle I've owned, I've found that the fruit and flower notes turn very quickly (2-3 years) as the bottle ages. I have other bottles that managed to stay intact top to base for over 10 years. What I'm left with is a still-wearable, slightly shellac-y, spicy vanillic woody scent that is still distinctively Casmir. I occasionally get an anise-like note at the top. I often get black pepper in the accord. It's still a shape-shifter depending on the weather, surrounding scents, and that day's body chemistry. I'm still a fan, even if my bottle has seen better days.

This is one of my all-time favorite fragrances, with its cozy warmth and festive feel. In its heyday, it was a rich oriental that stood out both for its unique scent and above average performance. But they've watered it down so drastically over the past few years that now it's a shadow of its former self. The scent is still lovely, like a ray of sunshine or a memory of happier times, but because of its weak staying power and subtle sillage, I now have to reapply more often than ever before. What a divine perfume and how I wish I can get my hands on the vintage perfume. Nonetheless, I love this perfume so much that I bought 2 backup bottles. The opening is a warm, vanilla, peach, jasmine and mostly stay this way throughout the day. However, every now and then I get a hint of sweet incense although it is not listed in the note. Or perhaps I'm confusing it with the coconut note, but this is the smell that I enjoy the most when I sniff on my wrist. Despite not lasting, I wouldn't mind spraying it again and again as I think is the only way I can enjoy this intoxicating smell. Spraying it on my scarf and it does last 4 to 5 hours.

I absolutely love this! My 13 year old daughter said “you smell good!” It is NOT old fashioned even though it was released in the early 90s! It was so ahead of its time! It’s like a gourmand chypre. It’s gentle and subtle but sweet and has a tropical vibe to it and I just absolutely adore it and I hope they never stop making it! When my bottle runs out i definitely will continue to buy and have it on my shelves! And i have about 150 perfumes!!! I’ve disliked and de cluttered about 20 (not including the 150 i have kept) and this one is on my small wall shelf of high end classic French designer perfumes!

I used to wear this in the 1990s and it is full of memories of my youth. Now I have a small bottle I have bought for 10 EUR! I really love this fragrance, it is sweet and ambery, but it also has some tropical touch with the creamy coconut and mango. To me it is not very fruity (and certainly to me it does not smell of rotting fruit) and I find it perfect all year round: in the warmer months it remains relevant with that coconutty touch, which is not too strong, and in the colder months the vanilla and ambery notes are very comforting. Longevity is very good and projection moderate.

I bought Casmir by Chopard with my first paycheck in 1993—because obviously, perfume was more important than groceries or rent. It smelled so rich and luxurious I was scared to use it, so I just admired it like a museum piece. Sprayed it maybe a few times in 30 years. Then one day, I had a weird burst of generosity (or temporary insanity) and gave it to a friend. Instant regret. That scent was a unicorn in a bottle—totally irreplaceable. Lesson learned: never give away your holy grail unless you’re emotionally prepared to spiral. I still kick myself thinking about this loss.

In my perception, Casmir is built around vanilla and other creamy notes such as coconut, peach, and sandalwood, but these notes do not make Casmir a lactone nor a gourmand fragrance. It smells vintage, powdery, a lil sweet, warm and woody. The floral notes are there but not prominent while the mango is quite detectable in the mid phase. I vaguely detect a leathery note (more like a suede) and I somehow recall Organza due to its slight nutty aspect. I enjoy this fragrance so much especially in the colder and rainy days, but it works great too in hot daily tropic temperature.

I have an old bottle from half way the 1990s. It smells like a strong powerdy vanilla perfume with some sandelwood and something orangy & peachy in there, on me. I wore it a lot in my twenties, going out clubbing, it made me feel all mystique, sexy, oriental and like a candyshop. Like bellydancers, sensual dancing and seduction lol. Now it doesn't really suit me anymore and it's a bit too sweet, girly and gourmand for me in my 40s. Funny how you can grow out of certain fragances. I use it as a room spray now and when I'm in a nostagic mood at home. :-)

This one was an another one of my blind buys after I checked a review here and went straight to the store and asked for this beauty. My skin fortunately loves these type of perfumes and boy I was right. At first, is peach and mango that shows up, then the second wave hits you and its even better. It reminds me a bit of Allure Sensuelle and very much of Guerlain's Samsara. Great stay power without being bombastic. Very sophisticated, very comforting, it makes you feel a lady, one with money and class plus is from Michel Almairac. Love it

Casmir by Chopard is a soft fruity floral. It opens with a bright mango/peach scent that slowly evolves into a creamy vanilla with a nondescript fruity aroma lingering quietly in the background. I purchased a 100 ml bottle of Casmir by Chopard for less than $20 on Amazon, so even though it isn’t very long lasting, it’s inexpensive enough that I don’t mind reapplying. Projection is moderate during the first hour, but afterwards becomes a skin scent. Regardless, I am pleasantly surprised by this very affordable blind buy!

I searched for, and found, a Lancaster made old bottle. At first it was easy to register the similarities between this and the drugstore classic Vanilla Fields. Then Casmir became **CASMIR**, a sweet ambery-vanillac nectar with cinnamon icing and a soft peach coconut center. Overspraying brings out an almost bready, or dough-like nuance that’s seriously enjoyable. With its holiday vibe, Casmir practically begs to be worn between a steaming hot turkey and your grumpy Uncle, keeping you content all the while.

I’ve had this perfume for over a year now. A very successful blind buy. Sweet, powdery, fruity, vanilla goodness. Lasts a very long time. Great for cooler weather, could be overwhelming in the heat. Today I received Dulce Amalfi from Xerjoff and they are very similar to my nose. The opening is a bit different, the quince is very pronounced for the first 15/20 minutes with Dulce, but the dry down is very close to Casmir. In the dry down I get a lot of sweet powder from both. I love them.

My newest old-school friend! I hope they are going to get along with my two other close friends Cabochard and Paradoxe, without any jealousy drama. A nice and typically old-fashioned scent. After the fruity and vanilla-like top notes are gone, I sense a warm woody, incense character remain and it's - fortunately enough - not too spicy. Not really intense, not that longevity I have gotten used to, but this is the very worst I could tell about Casmir.

I agree with @marinera76 : The current version is weaker and feels diluted in comparison to the original Casmir. The DNA from the original is definitely there. I recognised Casmir, when I smelled the new version, right away. The new version feels a little watered down, a little less macerated somehow. Still a wonderful perfume and maybe it will become stronger when I let it sit for a while. It's not quite the old version, but it's definitely Casmir.

Love this wee gem, a perfect slightly powdery and spiced fruity vanilla that doesnt smell old fashioned to me at all. It's not as spicy as I remember it being when I first tried it ~20 years ago so I'd say my bottle is the newer weaker formulation, but for the price I still rate this- it's beautiful, soft and sweet and still has legs on it performance wise, lasts 6-8hrs on skin easily. Great for layering too if you want more sweetness. 8.5/10.

Chopard Casmir does not disappoint! It’s a rich Amber, Vanilla fragrance with highlights of soft peach and wispy florals throughout. I love the bottles elegant shape & decor along with its beautiful golden fluid enhancing the golden dome cap. A super scrumptious blind buy. I plan to buy again as long as it’s available. Casmir fulfilled my craving for a luxurious Amber fragrance perfectly. I highly recommend, just please save a bottle for me!

Casmir has sadly been stripped of many of the aroma chemicals that once filled it with life and personality, and the current version feels like a pale shadow of the original. What a magnificent fragrance it used to be... The benzoin, opoponax, tonka bean, cinnamon, and carnation created a rich, emotional, almost intoxicating oriental composition. It was warm, sensual, comforting, and deeply memorable — a true olfactory delight.

I used to wear and love this on the daily in the early naughts. It was so comforting, kinda gourmand in that, I didn’t really wanna eat it, but it was mouthwatering. Such a round, sweet fragrance, peaches and incense. I would repurchase in a heartbeat if I knew it wasn’t overly reformulated over the years, but idk where to find it locally to test. Used to layer with B&BW Rice and Shea lotion and it was bomb.

I have worn this ever since it was launched. I have always loved it, and get many complements from coworkers and friends. It's a unique turn on vanilla, with a cozy spiciness. It's especially yummy when the weather cools down, and I don't think I ever wear it on hot days. This is such a wonderful fragrance for the price, and I think it is totally underrated. I can't believe Casmir doesn't get more mentions.

This is one of the perfumes that I could wear everyday. Cashmir is warm and comforting. There's nothing about its notes that bothers me or sticks out weirdly. It's such a nice, smooth and elegant scent. It gives off a vintage diva's everyday scent. The notes that come forward are vanilla, peach, warm amber and smooth sandalwood. Overall it's a very beautiful, warm and sweet vanilla fragnance.

Caramel + Skin + 🤏 Balsamic sweetness + 🤏🪵 is how I perceive this wonderful perfume. It's not too sweet, caramel & skin-scented goodness. A classic feminine leaning aroma suitable for everywhere, every day use. One of my favorite blind buys of all time. ♥️♥️♥️ Fragrantica's scent profile is accurate. 9/10 not unique but fantastically balanced formula worth buying, highly recommend! 👍

This is my perfect perfume, and 100% my most successful blind buy to date. Anyone who complains about the plasticky or rubber smell has obviously decided to judge this perfume after about 2 seconds. It needs to dry down. It just needs to. Some perfumes do. And once it does, my my my, what a gorgeous, resiny, fruity amber. And the price!!! It's almost unbelievable.

Delicious vanilla, peach, powdery with some incense and wood. Honestly so comforting. It doesn’t feel outdated or “vintage” to me. Honestly I’m not sure how a scent could even be classified this way. I suppose there are scent “trends” but either way, this is just a gorgeous warm, powdery, slightly spicy and rich fragrance. I will forever have it in my collection.

This was my signature scent in college by in the 90s. I felt like an Arabian princess wrapped in a cloak of spiced peaches with vanilla. The scent isn't as strong in the newer bottles as it was back then, but if you overspray, the amazing peach vanilla accord will shine thru. Its like the a memory from a past life of opulence in a kings court.

A peachy and syrupy vanilla bomb, very oriental but not overwhelmingly so. I definitely get the reference to Vanilla Fields, but that one is a bit more floral to this one's fruity. Perfect for cold weather, very snuggly and inviting. Lasts for ages on skin & clothes, but it's not a major projector. Have to lean in to get a nice whiff.

I'll be hunting for a vintage bargain; the recent formula lacks complexity. All I get is vanilla with a hint of florals resembling Vanilla Fields. I love Vanilla Fields, but was looking for that floriental vibe. update: got the vintage & don't think it's very different. Ultimately , I think I just like vanilla fields better.

It’s just perfect. So classy and sophisticated, mature but not dated/too serious, it’s sweet but not too sweet, it’s creamy and cosy but not too gourmand, more like a fancy cream. I love it and I got the last bottle on sale, also it’s 100ml so it’s just perfect for me. Finally a new dreamy scent I can fall in love with.

This is my favorite perfume to scent my fans with. A couple spritzes and next time I’m fanning myself in public? A cloud of delicious Casmir envelops me, and I breathe deeply and sigh. People nearby compliment it all. Like a Southern belle, fiddle dee dee.... ...A Southern belle in menopause, but still! 🌺

i've read about this a lot and am happily, finally getting to try it. i get mostly peach and vanilla here. it reminds me a lot of vanilla musk, more than vanilla fields. the former i love and the latter i can't wear at all. however, this has more peach and amber i think. really pretty 90s style vanilla.

I love this fragrance! This is my “cold weather with a sweater on the couch” scent. It reminds me so much of the Purol balm in a little tin (I don’t know if that’s a European thing only). It’s just such a lovely warm scent for the cold months. I don’t usually wear it outside the house though.
