ENCHANTED EVENING Enchanted by Chopard. I love this fragrance but I must warn you girls who are looking at Fragrantica and see the plum-jasmine accord plus the photo of that Cinderella type of model in the ad. The name is misleading. This isn't anything like a Disney Princess fragrance for adult women. This is more along the lines of Jessica Simpson's Fancy Nights. However because of the intense plum and the cashmere it has a softer and more feminine feel whereas Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights can turn masculine. This one stays feminine. The patchouli is huge and it has a dark midnight fragrance of the night type of vibe. It's romantic, dark, mysterious and strong. Don't spray too much. This is one of those one two spritz you're done type of perfumes. It's beautiful but it doesn't work for everyone. If you're not able to wear patchouli, this isn't for you. I love patchouli and the patchouli here is very fragrant and not Oriental, nor masculine. It's the cashmere wood that I find is keeping this thing together. The plum is ripe and sweet, the jasmine is a night blooming jasmine which provides a sexiness to this scent. I don't wear this fragrance too much anymore because it was becoming my signature scent around 2012 and 2013 and I had to quit. I have one bottle that is half full and will wear it for dates and formal evening affairs once in a while. The dry down is musky and not woodsy so I would say that this has some sort of animalic note. It does feel mature and very sophisticated despite the simple arrangement of notes. I would recommend this for women in their 20's and 30's. It's romantic, alluring and elegant. Please give this one a try but remember this is very strong and it's a patchouli perfume. Good thing that jasmine plum and cashmere keeps it girly enough for me.

I had a funny experience today. I've seen this lovely new bottle in the shop, as I looked at it I've expected an airy light spring scent. And the name "enchanted" called my imagination in to the forest to watch dancing fairy’s. Then a rather heavy perfume made me awake. It's a robust spicy smell at first, not unpleasant at all, a very nice surprise. Dry down is exactly as Dahlia Noir Givenchy.

I don't like a single thing about this scent. On me it's like a vintage oriental gone bad. Somebody elsewhere described this is a typically sweet "fruitchouli" scent. Not on me! (Right now I'd be grateful for that!) As for the plum/prune liqueur, all I can say is "what plum/prune liqueur?", and the spices? What spices? Maybe there is a tiny touch of spice here, but I'm too troubled by the rest of the composition to notice. If there is plum, then it's dirty, rotten plum that's been in the back of a damp cupboard (or a bathroom bin) for ten years. Admittedly, somehow, around three hours in some of the sour, fermented bitterness departs and a soft, sweet effervescence comes through. The jasmine? Behind the wood, patchouli and sour fruit, it's barely there. So, this might be good if that's all there was to it. But I can't wear a scent just for one "good bit" that's overshadowed by a million bad bits for three hours. Overall, I just get far too much patchouli with only a hint of that sweet jasmine. Also - the jasmine is not the kind of jasmine I've found in any other scent, and I think there's also a big dose of amber here. When I first applied it, it genuinely smelled of alcohol with nondescript, rotten, screeching fruits with a hefty heap of mold. There's something of a damp, dirty hotel room here. Mold, damp. The remnants of random cooked meats and stale tobacco hanging in the air and clinging to every fiber. Fans of "Let it Rock" by Vivienne Westwood might like this. It's one of those dirty patchouli smells that I, personally, can't stomach. Something of this could be "sexy" and dirty in the "right way" on the right person, but certainly not on me. Something here has gone very wrong on me and it's extremely sickly. I'm almost entirely certain that my chemistry must be buggering this up, or else I just can't imagine anybody wearing it. Hence the fans of Let it Rock might be better suited to this, whereas this kind of scent is just a big no-go on my skin. This is like a fruity version of Let it Rock with a touch of spicy jasmine.

This wears like an adult Cinderella fragrance but this Cinderella is not coy, shy or pretending to be a princess. She is a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. She's there to claim her prince! The patchouli is the strongest note in this fragrance and it's right smack in the heart. It's Oriental, smoky and wears like incense. It's the touch of midnight magic and mystery. If you like Dior's Midnight Poison, you'll love Enchanted. They don't smell exactly the same but they're in the same fragrance family of slightly Oriental "midnight" romantic and mysterious perfumes. The only floral scent is the jasmine and if you like jasmine perfumes this is a gorgeous jasmine. The plum is sweet but not too fruity or cloying. Cashmere is soft and the spices further add some potency to the patchouli. The whole thing dries down to musk. I love it. Perfect for New Years Eve, romantic dinner dates, cruises, black tie formal parties, galas, but not weddings. Nothing about this reminds me of a blushing bride. This is the most in charge Cinderella ever. It could even be a perfume she borrowed from her stepmother LOL
