Jasmin Malika

This is probably the most surprising scent love I could have imagined. I normally like fresh, light, clean, citrus, cotton, iris, soft flowers etc. I normally dislike heavy, sweet, oriental etc. scents, and I particularly dislike patchouly most of the time. I got this as an original sample with an order, and I'm still in positive shock. Despite having mostly notes I particularly dislike, this is such a beautiful scent. It is sweet but not gourmand or plastic sweet, it has sweet mandarine juice, the most beuatiful, creamy (non-indolic!) jasmine and both that combined with something I would call an aromatic patchouly liquor. (and no, there is definitely no tuberose in this, none at all) It reminds me of something in the 90s, not a specific perfume but something I remember smelling and liking without knowing what it was, but it immediately lights up my mood and makes me feel happy and comfortable. Funny thing, I let my husband smell this without telling him anything before and he - said the exact same thing and the perfume had the same effect on him (and he dislikes anything sweet and heavy scentwise with a vengeance). His words were something like: Oh, this is beautiful, it reminds me of how beautiful women smelled in the 90s, or rooms of beautiful women, or clothes. ' It smells elegant, expensive, feminine, warm, spicy, liqueurish, sweet, and - while I never used this word for a scent before because it is overused all the time for just any other scent - it smells very addictive. I used my whole sample for about a week, and just can't get enough of this so I ordered the full 100ml.

In my defense, the plan was NOT to go into fragrance shop. Plan FAILED. I spotted this beauty on the shelf and after 1 whiff, she came home with me. Absolutely divine. It's jasmine on top of neroli on top of jasmine on top of clementine on top of patchouli and it's an absolute LOVE for me. Chypre-floral is old money/luxe/confidence/drama and my favorite composition.

Neroli bitter jasmines... Petitgrain green jasmines with cypriol, neroli, and mandarin! It is a greeny mandarin fresh green jasmine! the more i sniff it the more i love it. Beautiful.

I love Chopard, own a bunch of them. Love the bottles in that heavy, chiseled crystal, screams luxury. I saw this online, loved the notes -diehard Jasmine fan - bought sight unseen. Well, its a very nice perfume, warm, round and feminine. But to me this is straightup Tuberose! Yes, there is some Jasmine but it's not the soliflore, nor it is the heady indolic and nocturnal as in Jasmin de Nuit, nor it is a bright crystal Jasmine like in Diorissimo. I like my Jasmine fresh and straightforward, even a bit waxy like in California Reverie. In Jasmin Malika is a mix of heady white flowers; osmanthus, that is a fruity, delicate apricot note, is overpowered, and all you can feel is tuberose. A quasi perfect dupe of Prada La Femme - strong on tuberose- reminiscent of other tuberoses like Orchid Soleil or Carnal Flower... but not as good. Will i wear it? Possible. Would I buy it again? This isn't bad, but it is not great either. I like the heady jasmine, bitter neroli and the apricoty osmanthus, but the rest of the fragrance is just a bit too dirty, woody, patchouli-led and musky smelling. I prefer sweet and pure white florals, which are very classy and feminine, whereas this only leans feminine and has some masculine aspects to it. It lasted 8 hours on my skin though and it has good sillage, so it is good value for money. Honestly though, I'd give this fragrance a 6 out of 10. I wouldn't buy it and I find it too strong smelling for my liking.
