Rose de Caroline

I've just blindly bought it (OMG!) as a birthday gift for myself. Will share my opinion when it will arrive. EDIT: it just arrived. First of all I should say it has nothing to do with Love by Chopard. Love is a happy sweet juicy rose, very young. Rose de Caroline is a deep, very mature, dying rose, almost melancholic. I call "Voleur de Roses" by L'Artisan Parfumeur a funeral rose, but this one is a queen attending the funerals of her king. She is in dark burgundy robe with ermine fur and wearing a crown with a huge blood color ruby set in diamonds and platinum. She is ready to rule. EDIT2: Longevity is about 1 hour. Projection is low as well.

This is a wonderful rose fragrance. I think it’s one of the best rose perfumes I’ve purchased this far in my fragrance journey. It does somehow lean a bit more masculine and it does resemble Rose Seljuke a bit. I’m not sure if rose are the only notes in this perfume because it smells like there might be some woods or something other than just rose. Overall, I think this is an amazing rose fragrance although the price is a bit too steep

Beautiful Rosy Powdery scent. Very long lasting. 6 hours on skin and 2 days on clothes. Its sensual and unique, and limited edition ..musky Bulgarian rose is strong. The bad news It may discontinue shortly.

This fragrance doesn’t disclose a full list of notes—only Bulgarian rose is mentioned. From the name, you might expect an elegant, soft rose scent. But once you spray it, the rose is hardly the main character, and in fact the typical rose smell is almost absent. There’s no sweetness, no sensuality, none of the soft floral quality people often associate with rose. It doesn’t follow the usual “gentle feminine” direction at all. To me, the real foundation of the fragrance is wood. The woody aspect is very pronounced and leans cool. There’s almost no sense of a “floral atmosphere.” It also doesn’t really have a clear top–heart–base structure. The scent maintains the same restrained character from beginning to end. Calling it a “rose fragrance” even feels a bit forced. If we think of this fragrance as a projection of Caroline Scheufele, co-president of Chopard, then it doesn’t express her “femininity.” Instead, it reflects the personality of someone who has spent decades at the center of the power structure in the luxury industry, yet still insists on making her own aesthetic judgments. Unlike many rose fragrances that try to charm the wearer, this one doesn’t aim to please and doesn’t lean into emotion. It simply exists on its own terms. Not suited to very young girls.

usually, I have a budget for my perfumes not exceeding Usd/Eur 500 and I was visiting Harvey Nichols one day and the red bottle fascinating me at the counter of Chopard and told my self let's try this diamond which has a different color than the others ,woooow wooow this is a very beautiful rosy musky sexy perfume and nothing like it and it's never released before by any niche or designer house, this is the meaning of beauty and lux at the same time, as a heard it's expensive because the Bulgarian rose is very refined and natural in this perfume and I noticed that nothing artificial or chemical, natural 100% I bought it and every time I am wearing it I received tons of compliments lovely scent without comment it's expensive USD 700 but I can notice why and it deserves that. by the way, it's unisex definitely. longevity: 24 hours on clothes some times more and 15 hours on skin. sillage: 2 meters easily. versatility: unique. The final rate : 10/10

Hello readers! Please share with me your experience with the longevity here: As a person who never ever liked rose perfumes, I must say that there is something totally superior about this fragrance. I do not know if it's the metallic note, the smokey/powdery/woody note, or simply the bottle (or the golden cap), but I am totally in love with this perfume. The problem is that it does not last longer than 2 hours before turning into a skin scent I barely feel. What is your experience with the longevity of this perfume? How long does it last on skin and how does it evolve? And why do you think mine lasts so shortly? Thanks to you all for reviewing!

Very intriguing. I sampled this today in a store and there's definitely a lot more going on than just the notes listed here. There is something smokey and incense-like that's quite prominent, as well as something woody, perhaps sandalwood? The rose is there, darkly, behind the swirling incense. Longevity is moderate.

Either the marketing is off or what I'm smelling is off. This is not a female powdery rose fragrance - it's a dry woody masculine rose. Update: Case in point: my 18 year old cousin asked me "Why are you wearing men's perfume?"

Looks like money grab if previous reviews are correct. 600€ if its not going to have good projection and longivety is way too much.

Overpriced in my opinion, there are lots of similar roses on market, nothing to die for...

Super bitter woody... oud and carrot seed? almost dry. with barely rose.
