Autumn Rhythm

I smelled this fragrance through the discovery set, and was one of the standout fragrances from it. Like its name suggests, it really does smell like an autumn walk through a forest. It has an earthy and bitter smell upon first spray that melts into something more rich, smoky, and with a hint of sweetness. The leather note is the most prominent, but it's a very smooth, buttery-leather; something like a well-worn leather jacket, versus raw, unprocessed-leather. Despite it being listed as an extrait de parfum (the highest concentration of fragrance oil), it has weak sillage, projection, and longevity. While it is easily identifiable on yourself, many people said they couldn't even tell I was wearing a fragrance when I walked by; it has virtually no scent-trail or projection. On skin, it lasts about 3-4 hours, however, on clothing it lasts all day. This could easily serve as a daytime and/or nighttime fragrance. It has very cashmere sweater/leather jacket on a crisp fall day, vibe.

This is close to Vespero, but greener and without the sharp grapefruit note. The overall feel is also softer, silkier, and more elegant. Orris smells similar to Iris but with a suedish backbone and it works wonders here while the ambrette keeps everything fresh and musky. This is excellent, and the cashmeran base just makes everything so much better than Vespero. The price tag, however is a problem for me. Hell of a scent though.

A surprisingly fresh green leather scent with earthy-woody undertones and soft soapy florals. Very vegetal, like a compost of dug-up tree roots and iris + LotV flowers. From a more aromachemical standpoint, a boatload of cashmeran smudged with green notes, soapy florals, and mate. Moderate projection for 3-4hr, longevity 8-10hr.

Definitely not for everyone. With that being said I really enjoy it. Smells like stuffy, dewy leaves in a pile on the front yard of an old house. I get the leather and green notes. Not sure about the wide range of reports, seems to react very differently to different chemistry.

This is a really nice leather and woods mix. To me this is essentially TF Tuscan Leather with the raspberry/saffron note replaced with cedar; the leather in both is very similar. I get moderate longevity on my skin, around 4-6 hours.

According others’ reviews I thought quite different about this frag. But it’s extremely light and unisex. For me, it’s more spring and barely autumn. Cedar is a bit stuffy in the drydown. And I can clearly smell the chamomile note. I can detect no leather, no Lilly-of-the-valley. It has cashmeran inside, but mixed with mate it’s covered by that stuffy cedar and green notes that are ticklishly sweet (and this sweetness isn’t from the tonka, unfortunately). It seems a bit similar to Red Wood by DSquared2, but more light and more spring.

I wish this had worked for me, but it ended up smelling like something that comes out of the tailpipe of an old car. It was just heavy and generic. My first Chris Collins scent and probably my last.

Autumn Rhythm from Chris Collins is everything I wanted Autumn Vibes from Maison Martin Margiela to be, but which it miserably failed at delivering. I said what I said about it in my previous review at the time but instead today I am going to compare that scent to a dream I had last night where I crashed Reba McIntyre’s Thanksgiving dinner and she was aggressively pushing an excess of pumpkin pie on her boozy, belligerent guests. Autumn Rhythm, on the other hand is a far cry from that cornucopia of autumnal resentment and lesson in exquisite restraint. THIS is the Ray Bradbury Autumn People fragrance I was hoping for. It’s the scent of a cool, smoky wind that clings to your hair and scarf after a walk in the waning light of a fall afternoon. Though a tussle of leaves have tumbled to the acorn specked soil, most remain a soft serenade of green and pale, glowing yellow. Rhythm is a perfume of promise and patience as the trees slowly shed what no longer serves them, the dead and dying detritus of leaves, bark, needles, cones, and twigs, earthy, leathery, and woody and bitter. A strange melancholic verdancy, not crisp, but the tender, mossy dream of it. All of these notes, captured in a warm woolen halo of cashmere stitches and sweet musky skin. This is autumnal perfection.

Wearing the 3rd of the 6, 2.5ml vials within the Discovery Set; AutumnRhythm, with notes of Green, Bergamot, Orris Root, Cashmeran, Lily-of-the-Valley, Leather, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Ambrette (Musk Mallow) & Musk. Right away I get Musk, Green, Leather, Tonka Bean and Cedar. With this one, there is a leather dark green musk even, oud aroma given off during the wear. If you appreciate Amouage Interlude, yet hesitant because of the potency then AuthmnRhythm would be a perfect alternative. (Resembles a less heavy Amouage Interlude, maybe even ever so slightly, Godolphin by PdM). Amouage has a heavy oregano leaf mixed with some very subtle sweetness. Although green and dark, AutumnRhythm has that similar pyramid, not as green heavy however more Leather Cedar heavy. My wife and I do like this one. (psss, she likes VideCorMeum the best so far....) Very masculine in my opinion; Cold weather wear, one that I think will linger for some time. Nice, glad to test drive this one. :)

Dry sweet musk over soft leather and woods, dusted with gourmet hot cocoa powder. Comforting yet elegant–there’s a lovely walk-through-the-arboretum feel, with city bustle not too far off. (If Tauer’s L’Air des Alpes Suisse is your winter in a bottle, Autumn Rhythm might be your fall.) Greener on skin than on clothing, and makes rough cotton feel like fine spun cashmere. High end prices, but big boss performance–two small sprays fill social distance and beyond with trailers that last all day.

Agree with @mlleghoul evocative review below mine very much. This is not your mainstream yankee candle vibe but instead it’s a decaying November walk in the woods, a highly realistic autumnal scent. It’s beautiful and melancholy, but I guess I’m a basic bitch because I need a bit more sweetness. I’m not able to wear this. I don’t drink my coffee or tea black either.
