Ed Hardy Love & Luck

I received this as a high school graduation gift from my grandmother. I'll admit, at first whiff, it was way too strong and headache-inducing for me, but after a month, the headaches went away completely and I fell head-over-heels in love with this fragrance. (I think it was just because I was not into or used to perfumes at the time.) The packaging is the same as Ed Hardy's previous release featuring a new color scheme and picture. The geisha with flushing red cheeks is a great description of this scent as well. The scent is a very deep, strong, oriental reminiscent of The Gap's Om, but more of a nighttime, heavy version. Though I say this, it can easily be worn anytime of the day and all year round. (I associate this with summertime because I got it during the summer, but it is definitely heavy enough for winter.) This scent is also both timeless and ageless. Anyone can wear this at any point in time. Love & Luck does, however, scream personality, so it is not for the faint of heart and can easily become a signature scent. The lasting power is perfect in my opinion. It does last all day but it does not stick around after a shower. Although, I do find the fresher the bottle the stronger the fragrance and the stronger the lasting power. Overall, this receives a 10/10 from me. I wouldn't want to be without a bottle of this. xx

Oriental, zingy tangy Orange. I purchased a 100ml Ed Hardy Love and Luck EDP. I am glad I did. The bottle and box it comes in is something unique. Beautiful Oriental design good enough to display the box. Price is fantastic for what it is. Now onto the perfume, unfortunately the scent doesn't last as long as I would like it to. I struggle to smell it after about 2 hours of application. This is such a shame because the smell of the perfume is beautiful. However I suppose you wouldn't feel guilty spraying more than usual on yourself to get a lasting smell because the price of it is extremely reasonable. The scent has a hint of resemblance to D&G Light Blue due to the citrus scents. It is a blend of blood orange, sandalwood and there is even some vodka in there would you believe it! Don't be put off as somehow it works perfectly. It reminds me of a strong, woody orange scent. As I said, I just wish it lasted longer, so more sprays are needed for this one. I would personally wear this scent in the daytime, possibly autumn time However, it would not be out of place on a summer evening out. It sits quite closely on the skin so its not something that would overpower an entire room, it can only be picked up if someone was close to your person. Overall 7/10 for me.

The first time I tried it I didn't really care for it and I didn't try it after that until today. And I have to admit that I actually DO like it quite a bit! It smells wonderfully fresh and sweet at the same time. The fruits smell boozy to me, don't know if it's the vodka responsible for that or the rich plum note... The first seconds it's definitely mostly citrus that I smell, but the plum and black currant join in fast. The citrus makes it fresh, the plum adds sweetness and the black currant makes it juicy. As it dries down there's creamy sandalwood showing up and a fair hint of musk. It's really yummy actually, very much fruity gourmand! The packaging is pretty cool as well, a cylinder shaped bottle with a cap that's just as big as the bottle itself and carries the cool 'geisha' print. On top of the cap there is this metal plate with a 3-dimensional bulldog's head, complete with collar and cap and I think it even wears a piercing... Longevity is moderate, sillage is gentle. I found that it also layers wonderfully with Jeanne Arthes' Boum Vanille Sa Pomme d'Amour with the praline & vanilla. ♥♥♥♥

I hate to admit this, but I actually like Love & Luck...A friend sprayed a sample on my arm and I loved it, but when he said what it was, it was a total turn off because I hate Ed Hardy's fashion, (with all due respect to everyone out there who likes it). Initially, I could swear I smelled some melon...The cute powderish cherry blossom whispers on the skin from the opening until drydown. A shy, blushing pink pepper settles right away, and the nectarine adds a very sheer tanginess at the end. There is also a soft, creamy musk that lingers on the skin.. I'm sure that if people smelled this one blindfolded they wouldn't believe this is an Ed Hardy fragance. The scent is nothing innovative, but it is cute and soothing... I'm sure there is cherry blossom in this one, even though it's not listed here. I get no jasmine or patchouli. No blood oranges either. Well, my friend gave me the samples, but here they are tempting me to get a full bottle... Pretty decent sillage, and the longevity is unexpectedly good...

Ed Hardy Love & Luck is a surprisingly sophisticated fragrance for one associated with the deliciously slutty Ed Hardy. I only detect the orange citrus right up top -- plus a splash of vodka -- all laid over top of a rich, juicy plum. To my nose, this is primarily a plum fragrance, but much lighter than more classic plums such as Fred Haymann 273 Rodeo Drive or Rochas Femme. I wonder, too, if there's any reference to Guerlain Mitsouko, with the beautiful Japanese geisha on the bottle, although I think Mitsouko is a peach rather than plum fragrance. In my collection Love & Luck is kind of like the plum version of Molyneux Quartz that I'll always wear when I want a light version of a sophisticated mossy chypre like Estee Lauder Knowing, or something. I don't wear Love & Luck much, but whenever I do, I always love it. The only drawback is it doesn't quite last as long as I might like, but I'm happy to just re-spray. If you enjoy juicy plum and boozy scents, you might really enjoy this.

I am wearing this today. This has been one of my go-to fall/winter scents for years. I am almost ready for a second bottle. This has such a unique oriental vibe, and I absolutely love it! It is unlike any of the other fragrances I own. I feel like there must be something missing in the notes, because there is nothing unusual listed. I guess it must just be the way the notes are blended - perhaps the pink pepper nectarine combo. Despite the vodka note, the alcohol wears off very quickly and is not at all overpowering. It definitely has a powdery quality after the alcohol wears off. In the first couple of hours it has a small scent bubble and maybe a faint sillage, but by hour four, it is more of a skin scent. I find myself sniffing my wrist throughout the day to get a whiff. I would agree with others that it is fairly linear, but I am OK with that. I am very curious as to how the men's version differs from the women's. Might have to check it out.

I love this fragrance. I have been wearing it religiously for a year now. I would say i've gone through at least 3 3.4 oz. bottles in that time period. Just ordered 2 more bottles and some lotion, which should hopefully last me awhile. I first got into this fragrance because of a friend of mine wearing it. It was fall, and we were meeting up to go to the haunted caves. I caught a whiff of an amazing musky scent, and asked what she was wearing and then demanded her to let me have some once she said she had the bottle with her.haha. This scent fits with the fall season. It has a mysterious,dark quality to it. Almost like a dark, nighttime woodsy smell with a citrus twist. I have gotten many compliments on this fragrance and a few people have asked me what i'm wearing.

My all time favorite cheapy!!! Notewise, I only really agree on the notes when I read them here, but on the daily, I smell something aquatic and warm with just a hint of muddled spice. In reality I smell a general representation of fresh horchata (that very delicious rice/milk drink with cinnamon popular in Latin American food). The drink itself is served cold and great on a summer day, and this is what love and luck smells like to me. If I really focus on the notes listed here, can I smell blood orange and sandalwood, sure. Can I smell vodka, kinda. I still argue that this is an essence of horchata. I'm now im my 2nd bottle, and for $20 for a huge bottle at ross, definitely worth a try!

I bought this one in a sample size blind. And what a lovely discovery! It is a very original smelling fragrance. It is a definite gourmand, but it is not about candy and vanilla and sugar so much. It goes in the direction of something more oriental- hence the beautiful Geisha picture on the bottle. To me it smells like some exotic spice I can discover at a market or an Asian shop downtown. It opens with something mandarin like and then slowly slides into the subtle dry down of spices, patchouli and musk. I absolutely love it! And I agree it makes a great summer or spring scent and is very uplifting. I love the name as well - Love and Luck- who wouldn't want to have both?

With all the reviews I have done since I am a member of Fragrantica, I am amazed I haven't done one for Love and Luck yet. First, this fragrance had put me back on the track of loving perfumes. Love and Luck is my 2009 discovery and winner. As soon as I saw the bottle and name, I wish with all my heart to fall in love with it! And I did. The funniest thing is now that I am seeing the notes, I am wondering how come this perfume is so soft and mellow on me! I do smell jasmine rice everytime I am inhaling from my wrist. It's the perfect perfume for springtime and everyday summertime wear for the office (I know since we have a scent-free environment policy at mine... :-().

I used to go into Sear's and sample this fragrance all the time. I absolutely love it! But... I received a gift set of Love & Luck for Christmas, and I must've gotten an off bottle, because the scent has NO staying power. NONE. 5 minutes, and gone. However, when I tested it, it lasted a lot longer. I feel ripped off but since this is a discontinued fragrance (to my knowledge) and I no longer have the box, I'm probably stuck with slightly scented water. Basing off the tester, Love & Luck is a beautiful citrus with a hint of sweetness. If you can get a good bottle, this is a scent to have.

This one is so underrated. It’s very well blended, subtle but does not lack sillage. The listed notes make it sound different from what it is; this is not like a fruity vodka drink. Vodka also makes it sound like it’s going to be sharp and rubbing-alcohol like, and it’s not like that at all. Comforting, cozy, a little like leather or suede without the carsickness. It’s very low energy and relaxed. I agree with the reviewers below, it has the same mood as Light Blue (but significantly different notes, not a dupe). imo it is more interesting and cozier than Light Blue because it’s warmer.

I smelled this perfume when I was shopping at Target. There was a tester out.,The minute I smelled it I bought a bottle I was instantly in love. Any perfume with patchouli and sandalwood I love. It reminds me of bath and body works Cashmere series. Its soft and spicy at the same time I can't wear flower smelling anything I get headaches from it. The pink pepper and bergamont is what I smell right off..it reminds me of clean clothes and it my signature fragrance I currently could not find it in any stores but started looking online ebay and Poshmark are good places to also get it cheap.

GUY REVIEWER...i will buy a female fragrance occasionally..usually to just have for whatever use i find for it..occasionally you run into a awesome smelling juice...this is very reminiscent of the blue aquatic family of eaus...i.e. eau fraishe..dglb..kenneth cole t-shirt..etc..but with just abit more white floral..creamy and decadent as well.IMO ofcoarse..its very nice..very inexpensive..avg longevity..most DEF very unisex..its more woody/marine/citrusy..less sweet /sticky/ berryliscious..lol...its great!! a sudden surprise..i give it a 8.2/1O...PEACE TO ALL..

I'm not a fan of Ed Hardy whatsoever...I'm a snob and I think it's tacky and stupid. However, I was walking along the fragrances the other day and I discovered this little beauty. I cannot believe Ed Hardy put this out at one time. This is now discontinued, but I found myself ordering some online and I absolutely love it. It's my signature scent now. It lasts a long time on my skin, but I also got the skin lotion and I do some layering. I love the orange/apricot smell and it's very soft when it dries down. Again I'm just shocked this is an Ed Hardy perfume!!!

I actually LOVE this and have really been wanting to get something from Ed Hardy. The longevity is moderate, around 5 hours on me. It’s not your typical girly scent but rather a more playful mature scent. I actually love the vodka scent in this and it’s definitely noticeable, other than that I smell some blood orange and some pepper. It’s not super offensive by any means but it’s for sure not for everyone. I would wear this to maybe a bar or a nightclub. I love the bottle it’s super unique and beautiful. 9/10

It took me a little while to appreciate this fragrance but in searching for some new aquatic scents for the upcoming summer, I remembered that I had this one, popped it open and recalled how fresh this was when wearing it even though its got a citrusy and sort of spicy scent, much like rice pudding. This is VASTLY underrated! The longevity is amazing as it outlasts higher priced competitors in that arena. So, NOW Ive got to go get a bigger bottle because my tiny one is getting low!

This is honestly such a hidden gem. I have had a bottle for over a decade and it's just so well done. Sweet and juicy, yet not at all cloying. Despite the juiciness, she retains a depth from patchouli and the musk manages to keep things from sinking too dark. It is truly a classy and compliment grabbing fragrance and is NOT masculine despite some reports otherwise. It may lean a bit unisex, but it reads decidedly towards the feminine side of that realm.

My favorite of the Ed Hardy tattoo scents. It's exciting, capricious and fun. It's got character and zest, and the ability to change my mood from blah to Yee-haw within seconds. Love it. Very fresh and clean, almost sharp at first but developing ever so nicely. I don't think I've smelled anything like it before. peppery scents, yes. Citrussy scents, yes. But this combination just does something very unique to me, and I certainly appreciate that.

Absolutely perfect for those of us who love woody notes, but still prefer the perfume to lean feminine (although this could also easily be unisex). The citrus opening is robust, but not sour or tart. Sweet, but fresh-squeezed and not sugary. The underlying cedar gives it a feel that is more tomboy than girlish. Decent longevity. I'm just glad I bought a bigger bottle!

The first time I tried this, I wasn't too sure right away as to how the scent would develop with me. I bought 5 sample vials, so I had plenty to get through to make up my mind. I thought it had a sort of cherry smell to it, and something that was a sharp scent, but died down and left a nice fragrance. Definitely one I like and I'd like to have again.

i love this one on me its fresh and invigorating super peppery and Delicious citrus i want to drink it its a perfect wake up on a sluggish morning, however the lasting power is not so great i put it on and by mid morning its gone and i really need to spray a lot of it

This perfume will always evoke memories of summer 2013 - I was 17 years old and running all over southeast michigan with my first boyfriend. Super light super fresh super fruity and sweet, but not cloyingly so. I always thought it was really nice and balanced.

Love this scent - starts with a burst of fruity citrus, but eventually mellows down to something more floral/musky - well, that's what it smells like to me anyway! I find it really long lasting, not too bolshy, great for daytime wearing.

This is a great summer fragrance, I ́m so happy I (blind) bought it, ́cause I think I ́ll be using it a lot for the next months... it ́s a fresh, happy scent, very citrusy, but quite long lasting and with a good sillage.

Great all rounder and pretty sexy - always have a bottle around and have done for about 10 years. Alway get compliments when wearing. It is just lovely, goes well with jeans or a little black dress.

i adore this perfume. Strong opening, (definitely the vodka) fades into a beautiful warm citrus, it has a lowkey cigarette vibe not in a bad way at all. Got a full size edp at ross for $20. Luv it

I keep reading the word masculine thrown around. do you even know what masculine means? this is a gentle, sexy, mysterious powdery oriental. just about as feminine as it gets

I loved the smell. Much better than the original perfume. But, there must be something wrong with my chemistry because it only lasted about 15 minutes on my skin. Oh well.

Recent descovery...I love this sent. It exotic, well balanced, sexy, different... I love the pink pepper! So well associated with the fruits, jasmin and all the rest.

To me, this is a very clean, fresh and unique scent. It's powdery and soft, but with good sillage and longevity. One of my favorite spring/summer fragrances.

Who is Ed Harvy? As I am handed a sample of his perfume 'Love & Luck'by a fragrance representative I am told it's his 2nd womens' fragrance and there is one for males. Do I like it? Yes! I think? It's a curious blend of fruits and spices. It would fall in the range of a 'fruity gourmand'At first test it's the citrus of bergmot & blood orange.As I look up at the 'rep' with his 'you are just going to love it' look on his face ,I turn the bottle towards me. It's a cylinder glass with a cream background. On it is a tattoo of a geisha in black and red.He lifts the cream cylinder to reveal a plain glass bottle inside as if the outer is a piece of ink art wrapped around this fragrance. Now I am beginning to get the scent of blackcurrents, red berries and pink peppercorn.It's like a summer pudding with sugar & spice!The softness to this is accentuated by the musk, sandalwood, cedar and patchouli in the basenote.Very intriguing? I look at the rep and he now has the 'I told you, you would love this!' look plastered on his face. But who is 'Ed Harvey'? Is he a tattoist, bohemian artist in the Soho area of New York? Is he a designer of street fashion or club wear. I imagine an artist with a passion for ink and scent. NO Ed Harvey is not a 'who' but a 'what'. He is a brand name/trade mark for Christian Audigier. Christian created this brand after obtaining the exclusive writes to Ed Harvey's designs, who is the 'Godfather' of tattoo. Christian Audigier, a french entrepeneur,nightclub owner, fashion creator and trend setter to the stars was known as the 'King of Jeans'and the creative force behind 'Von Dutch'. Signature caps, skateboards jewellery etc..are amongst some of his contribution to street fashion. His following in LA is enourmous with celebrities, athletes and musicians immersing themselves in his products. His products have become part of the lifestyle to stars such as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Kenye West, to name just a few.He can do no wrong. Christian Audigier has captured the essence of 'generation Y' in this fragrance. Creative,wild,free and youthful.

A light and benign fruity-floral of the classic drugstore variety made up of generic mixed fruit heavy on the pineapple, generic florals and generic musk. I don’t know why a perfume like this even bothers to list specific notes, since they just aren’t there. Within 15-20 minutes the fruity-floral opening dries down on my skin to a matte slightly fruity-woody musk. Just because I’ve seen the picture of the geisha on the card my sample came in, this drydown reminds me of rice powder. How suggestible we are! But then it gets a second wind and strengthens to a slightly fruity musk that’s not remarkable, but pleasant just the same. Sillage is moderate at all times, and the musk phase is tenacious enough to last all day. Overall, Love and Luck is an unremarkable scent that I would have to classify as musk with short-lived, highly artificial fruity-floral top notes. I can see it as a favorite of those people who like to keep reapplying their spray every hour or so to refresh the top notes, meanwhile building up a tremendous musky base. Like Ed Hardy Woman, I suspect that the biggest thing this fragrance has going for it is the unique packaging.

This year, around January, I got this perfume with the intention of collecting every Ed Hardy perfume bottle (merely because I like the aesthetics of the brand). This was a really nice fragance, very light and subtle, and it's useful if like me you enjoy mixing and matching scents. I had been mixing it with Tree Hut's Ocean Glow body spray and Jafra's Double Nature Angel, it was overall a really nice match. It's very light and juvenile, it's versatile in the sense that it can be used for many occasions, and it feels very summery with the citrus notes. The only thing that kinda ruined it for me was longevity, the scent faded about 2 hours in, and even just 30 minutes later you could only notice it if you directly smelled the skin. However, this part is directly dependant on your body's pH, so that's worth considering. The price is really great for the quality that's offered.

If this fragrance was in a different sort of package, I think it might attract a wider following, because it's surprisingly pleasing. I realize Ed Hardy caters to a sort of niche audience, but they have created a sunny, sweet, alluring little piece here, and I think the tattoo style art tends to repel the more sophisticated (read: snobbish like me) of their potential customers. As a bottle snob I don't tend to buy anything I wouldn't want seen sitting on my dresser, and I'm afraid to say that I find all the bottle designs for this brand a bit tacky. The actual scent? Happy citruses and a flippant note of pink pepper combine to make this a delightful little fruity floral. Is it ground-breaking? No. But it's pleasant and becomes quite soft after the first few minutes. I nice go-to for the girl who just wants to smell nice, without making any kind of bold statement.

Love and Luck is unique, fun, edgy, sensual and subtle. I can imagine someone who is alternative and at peace with her sexuality and femininity absolutely rocking this fragrance... she would wear it regularly to music festivals or on dates with her boyfriend, and he would love that musky sandalwood dry down... definitely signature scent worthy. The perfume begins as a fresh citrus spritz on my skin, and then quickly develops some skipping peppery notes before dying down into that sexy, musky and slightly fruity woodsiness. Surprising! UPDATE: A very temperamental fragrance on me. This is at it's best during a very humid, hot and sticky day; otherwise it's a linear citrus-fruity-woody scent. For this reason, I've placed it firmly in my like category and won't be repurchasing.

It was a blind buy only bcos I wanted to get a free shipping and it was within the price range I needed to be eligible. First, I thought, how do you smell vodka? But now I know! Maybe it does smell a little bit like orange or citrus (not much though) but it does also reek like alcohol which makes it kinda cool from the beginning. Then it goes bitterly sweet like Pink Sugar and stays on my skin like aggressive musk. Not my type, won't buy again 100% but will keep this one I got for some random occasions; maybe someone would like it and I can gift it to that person. Not good for an office too, because of strong base wood notes but not bad for wearing while taking a walk during Summer or Spring. If you like Moschino type of smells, this one is for you.

On me this is a juicy bergamot-tart and zingy, and without any of the heady sweetness specific to ripe fruit that tends to read sour or skanky on my skin. Pink pepper and a woody musk base keep it cool, clean, and unisex (I was actually introduced to this scent by a male coworker). I wasn’t expecting very good longevity due to the price point (low) and the packaging (reminds me of a body mist) but was pleasantly surprised to continue catching whiffs throughout the day, especially when I spray it on my clothes. Wearable in heat and a good “dumb reach” for jeans and t-shirt days. Edit: There is definitely a vodka vibe! Not in a way that will have you smelling of alcohol, but there’s a crisp sharpness reminiscent of a vodka tonic with lime.

I've had a bottle for a couple of months and while it is citrusy for a short amount of time, what really shines is the musk and jasmine, however it does get woody. Woody to the point that it doesn't really seem as something bright, like these sweetness of the dark fruits doesn't really show up. The dry down is good. Just feels like they were trying to put a new spin of something in the vein of CK1, but fell into a stagnant, dull yellow. I would have to agree with other users it smells cheap. The vodka note feels like an excuse to just cover up the insistent alcohol smell that this perfume has. I would not repurchase, sorry but i'm biased to the original ed hardy perfume :/
