First, let me confess, ever since CL's Eau Florale hit me like a lilac Bush to the face almost 15 years ago, i've been a sucker for anything I can find on the cheap that is from this House. I regularly stop in to Ross and TJ Maxx to see what treasure I might be able to pick up for under $20 to increase my already ridiculous perfume collection. I was just about to turn and leave the store when I saw this strange little cylindrical container and one of their plastic security boxes on the third shelf down in the back. It took me a couple of seconds to be able to decipher the faint embossing on the container before I realized what I had in my hands and immediately got on the Fragrantica website to make sure I wasn't picking up the one lemon out of the entire collection. Skimming through the reviews, and seeing that most of them held positive promise, I immediately got in the line to check out with my little find. Once I got home, I immediately put one sprits on my neck/chest area and sat back and waited. The sweet, citrusy, floral notes immediately brought to mind to fragrances from last century: Clinique's original Happy ( which I can no longer wear because the new formulation gives me a splitting headache within three minutes) and Shiseido's "We're" which was given to me as a birthday gift while I was living in Japan and have been unable to find reviews of it on this website. 20 minutes after my first spray, all I can say is this is a definitely a spirit lifting thrill of a find and I can't wait until my husband comes home from his road trip to give me his take on it. Again, if Christian LaCroix made a perfume that smelled like a spruce tree car deodorizer, I would probably buy it. Luckily, this is one of my more precious and unique additions to my perfume collection.

The first notes literally made my head recoil - an absolutely HUGE hit of spicy citrus - to me at least much more the bitterest Lemons rather than Oranges. Then, it becomes the lemon slice floating in your G&T - losing it's edginess but not its character. The Lemon stays for an hour or two on me - gradually allowing something like the wet tangle of nettle leaves to come to the fore. No sting to these nettles though - just the warming comfort of a day in nature - a joy in the smells of the natural world sitting on your arm. Lasts 4 to 6 hours on me, never really projects but is lovely to snuggle up to - even if only with yourself :-) In it's own little aroma space this feels like a little masterpiece - grab some if you see it. BTW I am a man in my 60's and I would say this is strongly Unisex - throw off your preconceptions - anyone can wear this. I wouldn't really call it a 'freshy' however, this feels like an unusual, but blended perfume balance and, ultimately, a beautiful creation. I LOVE this scent. Another great perfume lost to the mists of time were it not for its many supporters on places like Fragrantica. I haven't really smelled anything quite like this - I'm sure it's not entirely unique but it certainly proudly struts its stuff as far from usual.

Bazar is getting harder to find, prompting me to buy my first bottle blind. I’ve always been curious as this perfume is often compared to a longtime favorite, the original In Love Again by Jean-Claude Elena. So how do they compare? The most obvious difference is that Bazar has a dominant pepper note in the opening, while ILA has the tomato leaf note. They are both fruity florals with similar structures, but the notes—and how they are combined—separate them. I like them both equally; one does not replace the other. Neither smells dated to me. I consider Bazar more niche as it feels like it’s sitting just outside mainstream perfumery. A little bit of a weirdo, reflected in the bottle design, name and mix of two maestros: Elena and Duchaufour, and a third Emilie Copperman. Maybe three chefs stirring the creative pot resulted in the “Bazar” effect. Anyhow it works, and Bazar is fun to wear, performance is decent, silage stays close. The obvious crowd pleaser is In Love Again, a more acceptable, easy to love perfume. This one will always take me back to my late 90s broken heart, when I was not “In Love” but wanted to be.

☀️🍑🌼🍹 Oooohhhh I like this a lot! I had to comment immediately, but will try to come back and update soon with more wear testing... it is a bomb of juicy nectarine for me from the first spray, powerful and beautiful from the get go, but not at all linear or boring! very slight edge of spice amongst sparkling, dewy florals with green notes poking through and although I get the gin and tonic comment someone below mentioned, I would say a much more exciting, slightly tropical cocktail! I was wondering if it would be too powdery for me and too ‘powdery floral’ but it’s not at all, it’s blended beautifully and it’s fresh, sexy (in a casual way), and happy! It is giving me Friday cocktails in the sunshine vibes - even though it’s a freezing and grey Friday in feb here! It was a blind buy and a random choice from me, something intrigued me about it, and it’s a fairly rare find I’ve not heard of before, but I’m glad I decided to take the risk. Also I don’t believe anyone could find this overpowering or offensive, so it’s a winner for me - hoping it lasts and will update ☀️🍑🌼🍹

Its pretty obvious that I love the fragrances BD creates. I would not have blind bought if it wasnt a BD creation. This is very nice and on the opening I can immediately see the YSL ILA similarity but this is a much more woody and less sweet. Fresh, fruity floral with some kick from the peppery notes. Lovely for warm days. Most definitely fresh with a touch of fruit and flowers. For a minute or two I thought there was a bit of tomato leaf but its not listed. It must be an illusion created by the cassia. There is the perfect amount of pepper and nasturtium to give the right amount of kick to balance the sweetness of the fruit notes. This is an excellent quality cheapy and its so sad that it is discontinued. Good sillage and longevity.

I would describe this scent in a similar vein to YSL ILA or even Baby Doll but this one has more bite and is unique in its own right. It has an enormous sillage and longevity and is therefore the perfect winter fruity floral. The wonderful notes match the colour of the juice. This also could be worn by women of all ages. The bottle/lid combination is also very unique and alluring. Such a big shame they discontinued it! I hope they re release it. I will be buying 20 bottles of it!

I love this and love that it isn't oakmoss dominant. It is vintage. I adore the bottle cap and packaging. This goes on a very sweet vintage fruity floral with a sharp aspect. Out of the gate it is cassia leaf, peach and pepper. Then, I smell some of the florals. All are role players except orange blossom and jasmine. There is a bit of sourness throughout this fragrance. Like rotten fruit in a way. And, it's sharp. In the base, the woods dominate the flowers.

Two of my favorite noses - Bertrand Duchaufour and Jean-Claude Ellena - in a single perfume! I had to have this, even if I wear this perfume only a couple of days a year, usually in the spring. Not a masterpiece, but it has something special - maybe a little bit of nostalgia that makes me coming back. Reminds me a lot of „In love again”, which is my favorit spring perfume. Bazar it's not expensive, so it worth give it a try.

Blind bought this because Ellena is legend and I was curious. I wear it with pleasure, it’s fresh, fruity, floral, slightly oriental, not heavy, not cloying. Perfect for spring. Leaves an uplifting trail with very good longevity. By reading the other reviews I wonder if we are talking about the same perfume. Because even if I try very hard I can’t find anything masculine about it.

This is a beautiful, delicate fresh and floral, long lasting and easy to wear scent. I bought my bottle without testing lured by the reviews here and truly enjoy it for a few months already. Not many sophistication in it but sniffing it evokes a smile and if I feel like something simply nice floral I take Bazaar as my companion on a sunny day. Love it, rally nice.

Boy I feel so lucky to have found a 50 ml of this rarity in tk maxx. It smells very much like In Love Again by YSL but is a tad more spicier/aromatic. This is so unique in its own right though and believe me this is much better than 90 % of the fragrances released in the past 15 years. I only wish the staying power and projection were greater.

This is zingy. A burst of peppery citrus, sweetened by peach and orange blossom, pinched by the tartness of hibiscus, blending with the skin as the time goes by into a smooth orange creaminess. Impression: intensely orange flowers. Nasturtium; even a hint of orange or yellow tulips.

A floral green indeed. A nice green cassia leafs. A warmth of peach, a hint o flowers. Good for spring, good for rainy days. I dont know why i got impression there's a green tea in it. But its discontinued so i finished a sample and thats it for me, i can not become attached to it.

I love it! I also love Gucci Envy me perfume and it smells quite similar although Bazar has a soapy warmth to it which smells like balsam to my nose. I wear this any month just like gucci envy me as it smells feminine, sparkly, w/green floral I use this as a daytime perfume.

My mom gave me this perfume 4 years ago for my birthday and it became my #1 favorite ever since. It is a very modern radiant floral fragrance. I love this perfume for its long-lasting quality as well. Try it you won't regret! I just love-love-love-love-love it!!! :)

Bazar is an orange-colored peppery champagne! It's joyful, warm and radiant. A halo. I wear it on special occasions like Opera, and/or on a special clothing. Autumn & winter rather than spring & summer. I absolutely love it ♥

God I do love this! It just makes me happy. It's fresh, it's sweet, I can't get enough!

Well, this confirms it. My skin chemistry LOVES peach & orange blossom. This is a complex weird classical combo that has been typical for me with Lacroix fragrances. I have several compositions and each one has been distinct, challenging, familiar, yet one of a kind. There is a sharp DNA underlying throughout that could come off as cheap or invigorating depending on your chemistry which makes all of them daytime fragrances. Bazar came in a tin that made it look SO totally 2000s. On me, it is multifaceted and complex with a non offensive “office appropriate” vibe. It gets a lot of compliments, but is likely to be pretty forgettable to most. It’s lovely, nice, fun, and I’m happy I bought it but wouldn’t repurchase. It reminds me of Burberry Weekend’s little sister, or quirky cousin. Update: I’ve been drenching myself in it and this is one that seems to benefit from an overspray. The heart is a full on bouquet so if you’re a floralist, you’ll find this to be a fresh modern interpretation to the typical powder bombs. It’s a green fresh cut bouquet with a really unique but subtle base that smells as complex as the notes say, but none of them are very strong. It’s a sophisticated twist on 90s “clean” sporty scents. Unfortunately, it’s just not “Bazar” enough to leave much of an impression on today’s market. Great for spring though!

Many years ago I was in love with YSL ILA. I've never smelled it since it was re-launched, but Bazar swept me from my feet upon the first sniff by its similarity with the old ILA! On the skin, there's a little difference, but still, it's the closest you can get. Even twenty years later I can tell that's it. The difference could be the pepper - it's something a bit edgy and cold. The old ILA was more rounded, as far as I can remember. Anyway, for those who don't remember the old In Love Again, it's the perfect summer perfume (not in an Arabic kind of way). But don't be mistaken - I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy. It's rather strong and even though it leans on the romantic, feminine side, I can imagine not everybody can wear it. If you are not fond of powerful floral scents, don't even try :) There's nothing musky, powdery or soft about it, it's just green leaves, strong flowers, and a pinch of pepper.

Once again, I ended up buying a bunch of perfumes (I’m obsessed). So many disappointments. I had heard a lot about Bazar by Christian Lacroix. And on top of that, it was created by such renowned perfumers. I wasn’t expecting anything from it at all - I simply wanted to try this creation. The fragrance pleasantly surprised me, and I’m very happy that I now own it. It was purchased new, still sealed in cellophane, 50 ml. I don’t know what year my box is from; I never managed to determine it. Now it’s one of the most joyful fragrances in my collection. It sparkles and plays. The scent is sweet and tart, fruity and green, fresh and juicy. Like a glass of cold fruit-and-vegetable juice on a hot day. No chemical notes whatsoever. And yes, it really does resemble In Love Again by Yves Saint Laurent. But I like Bazar more - it’s warmer. Everything is perfectly balanced.
