C'est La Fete

19. January 2011 Love this one!!! It is like a pear lemonade, yet it has much more to offer, very universal fragrance for day or night, office or night out. Try it on your down jacket in the colder time of the year and you will be surprised! I thought it is a summer time only fragrance, but then a miracle happen as i sprayed it onto my down jacket during some chilly autumn day! It also lasts much longer on that material than on my skin or my hair. Stocking this up, because it seems that this one is going out!! Fresh and fruity it is a really happy fragrance for me. ---------------- UPDATE summer 2024: This fragrance is still a staple in my wardrobe after all these years since discovering it. I truly adore it and find to be THE best pear centered fragrance ever created, that actually smells like you could taste it: very juicy and mouthwatering. I have stocked up on it and never want to run out of it. It does not last very long during hot summer, but in colder weather it performs much stronger. Only high praises for this amazing fragrance.

I had not tried this one ,but mum had raved about the patchouli version so I bought it unseen for a good price on Ebay and I'm really happy that I did! I found that the top notes all burst out at once when you first spray it on-for me the bergamot,blackcurrant and pear were the most noticeable,then fairly quickly it starts to develop into a more floral scent,ending as a powdery sweet vanilla rose-it really reminds me of the original Tocade by Rochas-a former signature scent of mine. Love it !

I'm on a passionfruit high today, thanx to this baby. Bought myself a miniature coz I loved the bottle but when I smelled the potion I was just inlove. One sniff & i get an image of the Rio carnival. Thats the kind of energy the fume vibrates. Intersting how the top fruity notes blend in with the middle ones. Happy to say it's going to be a keeper. Cocktail of pleasures the name is fitting. Thumbs up!

Is it sweet? Absolutely! But in a very nice way. Usually I have a deep dislike for fruity florals, but this one pulls it off. I can smell the vanilla very clearly amongs all the sweet fruit and flowers, and it makes the perfume more mature, more balanced than most presentday fruity florals. Lovely for a hot summer day.

Lovely, sweet, fruity - flowery, somehow reminds me of some Escada fragrances - maybe because of the fruity notes. To my surprise quite long lasting, but not overpowering - a great deal! I'm so glad I choosed this fragrance!

I love this. Juicy and sour yet creamy and sweet. Glad I bought the ginormous 6.8 oz tester size! If you like Nina Ricci Bella, Gres Grain de Folie, or Rochas Tocadilly, this could appeal to you.

I bought this mostly because I liked the bottle so much but also because passion fruit is one of the few fruits whose smell I like in a perfume. I am not that much into fruity florals, which are the majority of female perfumes theses days, and I usually find them boring, common and unappealing,when not sickening. But this one is much better than I expected. It was really a nice surprise. It is not overly passionfruit, I think the opening is a very well balanced mixture mostly of pear and passionfruit, it is quite sweet at the beginning, but after a while, when musk starts taking over, it is really great, sexy and even sophisticated, but much more so than the vast majority of current floral fruity, sickeningly sticky and sweet. Musk is always musk and it usually gives a perfume a special touch. And I love the musk here, which seems to me to be egyptian musk, the same type of clear sort of clean musk one finds in Narcizo Rodriguez. Althought this perfume is not grounbreaking, which very few are, anyway, most these days just resembling one another, I actually find it very good, very well structured, and I am very very happy with the purchase, which is the 200 ml bottle, which I will buy againg when this one is gone if it is still in production. It is also quite complex, not a simple fragrance. Longevity is also good and sillage is absolutely great. In a few words, what a marvellous perfume.

I couldn’t resist the cute 1 oz bottle with the anatomical shape of a human heart and such uplifting colors. It was reasonably priced despite being discontinued so I blindly bought it. I’m pleased the scent was as happy and pleasant as the bottle despite not spectacular. It’s very fruity, in a tangy and tart rather than sweet way. Passion fruit and mirabelle (tangy yellow plums) make sense. It has green undertones probably from the tagette and bergamot. The musk is a very clean white one. This initial stage is very refreshing in summertime. Late in the drydown it mellows, revealing some powdery florals with a hint of vanilla and woods, pretty but less noticeable at this stage. It lasts 3-4 hours with some overspraying which is low for an EDP but expected from a freshie. Lovely.

Such a happy fragrance! This is a lovely summer’s day browsing a French antique market for vintage designer clothes next to a florist with gorgeous flowers on display. Its sweet and fruity with a lot of pear and apricot on top of florals on a white musc base but without turning into Body Shop. Very playful and happy. The opening is absolutely gorgeous but sadly the musc base takes over after a few minutes muting it a bit. Still, a lovely pick me up fragrance. EDIT: I kept thinking it reminded me of something and finally got it: has a lot of similarity to Dior’s Sweet Sun on longer dry down, there is a similar creaminess to this

I'm a great fan of the "C'est la vie" perfume - so pity it was discontinued! - and when "C'est la fete" was released I bought it without even testing it. I was sure I would love it. The bottle is a yellow-turqoise reflection of summer! The perfume itself is summer. I bought it during my honeymoon. So interesting! Pergamont is not "aggressive" at all. Its presence is dynamic, but it gets softened by the rest of the fruits. Yes, it is the "little brother" of the legendary "C'est la vie". It is a prince, but not the king. Loved and respectfull.

dieses ist sicherlich ein nicht genug beachtetes Parfum. Es startet mit einer blumigen fruchtigen Kopfnote die sehr weiblich und feminin ist. Keinerlei harte Komponenten, dann wird die Basis allerfdings etwas schärfer, aber im angehmen, edlen Sinn. Wahrscheinlich die Tagestes, aber das macht den Duft zu dem was er ist, zu seiner Signatur. Die Basis bleibt weich und angenehm. Auf jeden Fall ein Duft den man heute nicht so oft wahrnimmt.

Passion fruit galore! This one is strange on me. People compliment me all the time on this one and I can hardly smell anything except passion fruit and a tiny bit of musk. It starts out beautifully fresh and summery, and then I can't smell it anymore. It must have staying power as I receive LOTS of compliments. Weird, but I'll stick with it and see what happens...

This perfume is very fruity tropical smelling and reminds me of hot summer days at the beach and bbqs.I love the bottle as it is different and quirky,i have never seen a perfume bottle before shaped like a human heart.Great sillage and puts me in a happy mood.Just the right amount of sweetness for me without taking on a candy/fruit juice smell.

Love the shape of the bottle,love the smell it's absolutely divine.It has a sweet fruity floral smell.It's very sweet but as Baiba commented not overpowering.I love the packaging,it's so bright and cheery looking and the perfume inside is absolutely gorgeous,a winner for me.mmmm delicious.My first time trying this fragrance.Love it.X

Passion fruit and pear are two fruit scents I enjoy, so I thought I'd try a little 5ml. I'm typically not into fruity scents but this works on me (much to my surprise). The vanilla adds a touch of sweet, and the sandalwood and musk notes add some depth in the drydown. A very good fresh summer scent in an adorable bottle.

I had a small 5ml sample of this to try and wore only this for a whole day. At the end of the day, all I could think was "This is Rochas' Tocade!" It starts as a light floral, and beds down into a warm, sandalwood,vanilla fragrance that has good longevity. It's so like Tocade that I could hardly tell them apart!

It is lovely and reminds me of the early onset of a party where the medley of nice but different scents still mingle. That is why I like to use it as a room spray as well. It makes me feel happy.

Warm sweet, mature. I felt like I'm 40 when I spray it on my skin. No long lasting on me. It scent remind me to hot summer in an island, a coconut in hand :P

Nice fresh fragrance for summer, I use it in very hot days, but I never last more that 10 minute son my skin :(
