Wow! I now understand and concur with the rave reviews for this wonderfully feminine, exquisitely blended, and classy beauty! CL is a clean, ever-so-gently sweet and a little spicey, floral. Nothing here screeches or screams for attention. No sharp edges at all! The notes are so well blended that CL simply wraps its wearer in a gentle shroud of fragrance that wafts and trails with every movement. The opening reminded me a bit of Alaia, by Azzedine Alaia. But, then CL hits her stride. She conjures images of a tropical flower garden at dusk with humid breezes wafting through. Warmed from the day's sunshine and graciously bestowing her fragrance. I was able to find a 5ml mini "seashell" for a reasonable price. The hunt is now on for a larger size, as I must have this for the coming spring and summer. Update: I reached for this beauty on a mid-June day filled with sunshine and temps in the high 80's. To my surprise and delight, Ylang Ylang seized the spotlight with her tropically creamy and banana like warmth. With all other notes smoothing, blending and bolstering each other in perfect harmony. *Chef's kiss*

You can definitely tell this is a Sophia Grojsman creation! If this perfume wasn't discontinued I am sure it would be quite popular. With my skin chemistry, not many perfumes work well with me. upon first spray, there is a soft creamy fruit that envoples into a cross of floral and woody fruit. There was is a slight peppery note in the beginning but it's so very subtle. I can also detect a green note coupled with hyacinth. Once it begins to settle to the heart notes there really isn't much of a change. The base is where is softens and becomes an amber, incense, and peach. It is very calming and quite beautiful. My husband absolutely hates it which means is a wonderful perfume (he hated Lancôme-Belle, Opium, Flowerbomb, just to name a few). How I wish this was still in production because this would becoming my signature daytime fragrance. I was lucky enough to find an used 4.2 bottle at an antique market from a perfume dealer. This perfume was never cloying, never caused a headache, and I received many compliments. This is one to definitely have in your collection!

I don't wear my Christian Lacroix very often, but I always enjoy it when I do. If it wasn't discontinued,I would wear it more often as this is one of my favorite Sophia Grojsman creations. This bright,light, airy, powdery confection always makes me feel like I'm surrounded by billowing chiffon trails of floral bliss. This is such a refined feminine fragrance, it makes me want to live up to the image it evokes. I'm finding that I really enjoy scents that contain Tarragon. It seems to make the fragrances more interesting. I love it's perfumey aroma and flavor when I cook with it, but never dreamed that I'd enjoy wearing it. This scent is both balmy and woody and the spices give it a very nice complexity. The delightful sillage on this gem is generally moderate to slightly weighty on me and the scent lasts 10+ hours. If you enjoy floral fragrances with bright character,and come across this increasingly hard to find fragrance, give it a try!

unbelievably pleasant, totally seductive... sweet, feminine, still very gentle, embracing you with its warmth. i wore it on a hot day and it was in no way heavy or nauseating, and i should know - since i'm always prone to migraines and have a special sensitivity to smells. i feel like i could wear this forever! i'm not sure what notes are there, i guess freesia and carnations, but all in all a very subtle blend that lives on its own, doesnt make u point the finger to anything in particular. the seashell glass with air bubbles inside is itself a bless! i gotta buy more of this uplifting beauty.

What a spectacular concoction, in a stunning bottle too, at that. One of the most difficult ones to describe. An amazing blend of spices and florals, and still it brings along breezy marine connotations. Not in a bland aquatic way, but a complex interaction between pines and peach trees on the shore, and foam of the waves, and expensive sun screen cream. I love also how the tarragon and carnation and freesia play perfect hide and seek with the other elements. Apologies for lack of clarity on such a complex and sophisticated blend that totally works wonders. This is an absolute gem. Love it!

Day 1: A beautiful but hard to define fragrance. It smells green, sweet, and floral all at the same time. Definitely unique. I can't stop smelling my arm and the sillage is gorgeous, so I think it's a love for me. Day 2: I cannot stop wearing this. Stunning. Gorgeous. This has become one of my favorite fragrances. A blind buy gone spectacularly well. Longevity is good and I was smelling it through my mask all day. Update: Still loving this. If I had a signature fragrance, this would be in the running. One of Sophia Grosjman's best creations.

I am very very sorry it is discontinued. I absolutely love this perfume. The most sophisticated, attractive perfume I ever found. The only perfume which made strangers to stop me to ask what perfume do I wear. Signature smell! Absolutely awesome - mixture of warm mossy pine forest freshness with top notes of freesia over soft sweet balsamic notes... By some reason the new YSL Black Opium reminded some part of the composition, but it lacks the best accents of this Christian Lacroix.

Long time ago I used to work as a florist for several years. I still remember the moments when new flowers were delivered. Still cold and fresh they were smelling divine. White roses and fresias especially. When I use this perfume it reminds me those moments - it starts with a wonderful flowery fresh scent and slowly settles down for the "warmed up" flowers....bouquet of gentle "white" flowery scents. Unique and so very feminine. Makes me feel happy every time I put it on.

i had this..the largest bottle..and someone (not even a friend--an acquaintance) loved it, and I gifted it to her..I kind of regretted it later..because I didn't feel it was even appreciated..and I'm a generous heart..anyway..I looked for it but found out that it is not to be found easily any more...it IS a unique mixture of notes..very very pretty..don't let it go like me if you feel it's not for you..just wear it lightly..you will appreciate its originality.

I love love love this perfume!! I had a bottle back in the 90's but finished it, then I found out it was discontinued. I was so sad thinking I'd never smell this beauty again, then I found a 3.3 oz bottle half full on Ebay. Needless to say I use it sparingly as I never want to be without it again. It's such a sunny happy fragrance.

One of the best (if not the best, among tresor, ex aequo) fragrance made by genius Sohia Grojsman. So hard to find nowadays...and so so hard to immitate...in an ocean of mediocre and all the same fragrances we have to handle nowadays.... A true gem. The bottle is spectacular.

I love-love-love this scent. To me it smells like: champagne (the drink)! Fresh, a faint hint of sweetness. But mainly: champagne! Easy to wear but I'm almost afraid to wear it, as it would be a pity to end up with an empty bottle.

So excited to buy some more of this from Ebay! Can't wait until it arrives. This is such a unique fragrance - I have no idea why they discontinued it. (Actually starting to take it personally - everything I love gets canned!!!)

31. october 2013 I do think that this is is one of the most unique fragrances amongst mainstream fragrances. And one of the best and most advanced Sophia Grojsman creation. I do remember bck then, when it was launched, i didn ́t like it somehow that much. Yes, i do love creations of ms. Grojsman and Christian Lacroix was one of my most favorite designers ever. His style was always unique and out of the ordinary. So is this fragrance. The bottle is simply beautiful, a piece of art. I remember it had a beautiful box inside: red velvety lining. The fragrance is unique as well. Well, it takes time and some experience to understand it, i didn ́t like it right away. I do find a slightest resemblance to another ms. Grojsman creation in here "Champahne" by YSL and also a hint of "Kashaya" by Kenzo. Not that they are similar, but something in combination of notes makes it smell distantly like both of them blended together and watered down. Someone below writes that it reminds her of champagne (the drink). And yes, it does reminds me of it as well, even the bottle in shape of seashell is filled with bubbles. A bit bitter one, moderatly spicy yet light and refreshing. This is not boring at all and smells like a taste of champagne. Nothing powdery in here. Truly amazing and perfectly blended! Huuuge tarragone with a sour carnation, which is very enjoyable one and works pretty good with my chemistry. I like to wear it during springtime and during colder autumn. That ́s when it is most detectable. I wish it would have better sillage as well. Extremly happy to own 2 huge bottles of it :)

The smell of this perfume is realy nice and special, yet there is something about this scent that gives me an awful headache. i think it's the combination of wood with all the other components mixed in it. anyway, i realy tried to use it on me, but at the end i gave up trying and gave it away to my mother that doesn't suffer of headaches from no perfume.

CL= [Sexual(Michel Germain) - hairspray-acetony fake melon harsh note ]= [Volupté - the same melon note + violets in the topnotes]. From all 3 I prefer Lacroix. With all my love for violets I would like Volupté more without that "melon". The same goes for Sexual and Perry Ellis 360. To me it's lack of perfumer's imagination.

Although there's no rose in CL, it reminds me of YSL Paris which I wore through the 80s. I love it more than I thought I would, the slight musk that peeps through the varied petals of the flower bomb. The mini bottle is so cute and after all it is Lacroix, Sweetie.

I love Christian Lacroix - the blend of sumptuous florals anchored by vanilla-y benzoin is so feminine and beautiful. A sunny day in a southern garden of a scent and the bottle is gorgeous to boot. A feel-good uber-femme perfume.

Very pleasant, soft but full - like YSL Paris (also a Grojsman perfume) but with less complexity and more of a pear note. This is what angels would smell like.

Just love this scent. So different and femine, like sea on sunny morning somewhere sandy Portugal coast.

CLCL comes on a big bottle, much larger than one would expect, as the perfume only occupies a percentage of the shell. My 3.3oz is the same size as my hand! The glass has really lovely bubbles in it, giving an underwater effect. Unfortunately the cap is made of a plastic that seems to fog slightly with age, leaving it less clear than the glass. My initial impression upon spraying is always that this scent is a touch odd. Very heavy tonka at the opening, synthetic freesia (that "shiny" note), and a fruity tone. The pyramid above shows peach, the typed notes list mandarin, but it's a weird cross between the two, and definitely synthetic. It reminds me a great deal of Johnson's Baby Shampoo, but sweeter. I'm not sensitive to perfumes- most sneezers don't phase me at all- but this scent is always good for a couple of big ones. CL spays on slightly oily, and takes a while to begin to dry down. On me, CL then transitions to smelling like skin-so-soft by Avon. The sillage on me is pretty hefty- but I'm not sure that's a good thing at this point. Eventually, the carnation, sandalwood, and lily show up, bringing a slightly dryer accord, and a little spice. I smell coriander, not tarragon. Looking at the Fragrantica notes at the top of the page, I'm noticing that the text and pyramid do not match at all! To my nose the text description is more accurate than the image pyramid. The dry down is nice, warm, cheerful, and, as others have mentioned, sparkly! Always a nice quality in a scent. It does stay quite sweet on me though, which I don't care for, and that slightly soapy tone lingers. This stuff lasts forever, and on me, has a nice scent trail. Overall, CL is sunny and cheerful- I think if it were worn by someone with the right skin chemistry it would really shine. On me, the dry down is nice, but unremarkable, aside from the sillage. I must say, the sillage is just what I want- a soft cloud, that wafts around and behind me. If only it were greener, or crisper, I'd be delighted! I really was hoping for more of the woods, or tarragon, even jasmine and heliotrope would improve this for me. But what I get is primarily the oily sweetness of the yellow flowers listed. After three trials I find that I dislike the first half hour enough that I'm unlikely to keep this in my collection. If anyone misses CLCL and would like to obtain a 3.3 bottle with over 90% left, please PM me.

Gorgeous bottle, first and foremost. If you love a great presentation, this one is not to be missed! The fragrance inside is crisp and fresh AND yet somehow a hint of clean baby powder in there as well. My daughter complimented me on it when I wore it last night, which she rarely does as almost everything is stinky to her. This is mostly ylang, peach, heliotrope and benzoin on my skin...That combo makes for the clean baby powder and the tarragon adds that freshness, a hint of zest and green to it that I really enjoy (not bitter green, fresh green). There is a hint of LOTV that I don't mind (too much makes my nose run, but I do love the scent). It softens to a skin scent in about an hour, but then lasts for HOURS as a pleasant cozy scent. Sad that it's discontinued, but the 125ml bottle can still be found for a reasonable price if you hunt for it. A definite wonderful addition to my wardrobe!

This fragrance is very nostalgic I can remember being in middle school at the fragrance counter and my dad agreeing to purchase it for me. It was a soft sweet and floral sent that made me feel probably too mature for my age, yet it was still youthful enough for me to get away with wearing. I remember running out of it and asking for a second bottle. This was a time when everyone was wearing Angle and Lolita Lempicka, I enjoyed them as well but not more than CL. I would definitely love to get my hands on this again to just add to my collection and use when I want to time hop back 25 years.

I bought a used bottle on ebay - I was a little disappointed, expecting a scent more like Yvresse. It smells to me just like Sexual, another Sophia Grojsman creation (which I don't like). Beautiful bottle. I'm a Sophia Grojsman fan, so I'll give this more of a chance. Update: On my skin, I get a sour carnation note with ALOT of tarragon...oddly no heliotrope or vanilla. A no-go for me. If anyone wants to swap me for this, let me know!

There is something about this when you first put it on. It smells really awful. I mean really awful. I think it might be the wood smell. Then it starts to dry down kind of powdery and I can really still smell the peach, not so much the floral. Not sure about this one. Eventually it gets mildly spicy, with a hint of vanilla. I got it as a sample, not sure I'd buy a bottle, but it was worth the try.

I got this one as a gift and I am really doing my best to start liking it. At first, it's horrible. The opening is terrifying. After some time, it smells gentle and quite interesting. However, it disappears from my skin very quickly. On the plus side, at least the bottle is pretty.

This is a beautiful effervescent floral composition. Just smelling it makes you feel warm and happy. It's feminine and classy. The discoloured leftover from my 12 year old sample spray still smells divine. It will be worth it to hunt down a bottle if you can still find it.

I bought this perfume years and years ago at T.J. Max. It was a blind buy for me. I just loved the sea shell bottle. I got very lucky and happened to love the beautiful boldly sweet floral perfume too! I used it all up and sadly cannot find it anywhere now.

very sunny french south. :) it reminds me of a classic lady, gliding along a beach, wearing a straw hat, near the water, but not touching it, in a floral dress, face set with powder.

sadly,but I feel a lot of black pepper here, I was ready to buy it with very cheap price,but pepper made change my mind. strong,warm ,very longlasting and natural perfume.

When I first tried this aroma, I was stunned. There was no other perfume that hit me so strongly and for long ever again. Can't buy it anywhere now. Any help?

This perfume is a favorite of mine. The sea breeze and flowers are amazingly mastered and it is a pity that it has been discontinued. Beautifully done.
