In a cold gray winter's day nothing but sobering colors of different shades of gray Depressing bleak of winter feeling traped and there's no hope until you come across a faint red Orb under the sleet of snow brushing the snow off your curiosity got the best of you you gently touched the orb and your starled by a puff of a Thousand Red Roses falling to the ground you never saw this before bacause you where born in the darkest Relm where winter never Ends and it's always Gray. and the second time yards of red silk came out floating and falling on the ground and melts the snow and relized what she's done so she with excitement pushed in the orb so many times there came out Red satin walls with Dragon print Luxirous red with Red silk sheets Big red fluffy pillow Red Tassles on the side of the Cannopy Bed And pushed the orb again and Scent of Red Roses came lingering through the room and Comsumed by all the roses and all the Luxiourious Red Her Pale white skin became Toasty Olive her Platnum Blonde hair Turned Jet Black. Her Gray Eyes became Black as cole her long white flowing gown became a revealing Short red Cheoungsam Dress with Red Steletto heels. and one last time the very last time pushed the orb fire came bursting out and she turned in a dragon. and she was to rule in her firey Relm insted of ice this time is Fire This Perfume bring warmth in the Cold in winter. if your feeling depressed drained out because of the weather coldness or Rain Wear this this will warm your heart.

Step 1: one liberal spray on my pulses and ... tasting. I felt roses in a sugary, candied way (like rose confiture I had the chance to eat once in my lifetime in an Eastern country); they seemed like rose quintessence with powder sugar glazed all over. Step 2: then did mandarin and freesia lift the jam feeling and powdery elements from iris and heliotrope settled in. I considered the scent had showed all its power so I did away with it mentally, while leaving it on my skin all the same. Step 3: by evening time I sensed something warm (tonka and amber) decisevely present where applied and much later there was a cocoa vanilla slightly gourmand leftover which I enjoyed. Tumulte did not live up to my expectations from the dark rose point of view, but intrigued me instead as a pleasant soft rosey vanilla. I still cannot figure out how it happened, but I find myself wearing it every day to work. I like oriental and strong perfumes but they can be too much in close encounters so I find Tumulte a good choice for its comfortable feeling and combination of notes. The rose is felt every now and then inside a powdery mix on a bed of warm vanilla tonka notes. It is long lasting and intriguing and on clothes there remains a clean powdery rose I like to sniff. The musk thankfully seems not to be present on my skin, so this is a plus for that reason for me.

GORGEOUS Niche-smelling fragrance for an excellent price. "Tumulte" is an "amped up" dark, naughty outgoing sister to Frederic Malle's "Lipstick Rose". Think "Lipstick Rose" amped up with tons of roses, heliotrope, orris, & musky patchouli darkness. I get loads of powdery violets in the heart (all though this is not listed as a note, it definatley IS present in the heart). Francoise Caron, is the maker of this "Tumulte" of a fragrance. Francoise Caron is also the nose behind work of perfume-art like Acqua di Parma's "Iris Nobile" edp & Jean Charles Brosseau's "Ombre Rose L'Original". So sort of like these 3 fragrances combined. Like a classic gone totally patchouli-wild & darkley exotic. The beutiful perfume-add of this fragrance, with the gorgeous oriental lady *looks like this perfume smells* !! Oh, and the bottle is perfect for this fragrance, and *oh so very very beutiful*. A true Oriental Floral (must have for fans of this olfactive group). You shouldn't miss it. AND, my dear boyfriend never notices a new fragrance on me (can't blame him, check my wardrobe, I'm a fanatic collector). But this made him go *wow this is so seeexy gorgeous Mmmmm* as he burried his nose in my neck. 10/10 stars.

A jammy sparkling wine red woody rose on top of a lotion cosmetic base. The most sensual rose ive ever smelled. And if there was a way the smell of Nivea could be anymore perfect, then this is it. Baroque or from the Mughal Era. An intelligent woman, with a penchant for ancient history and skilled in the art of dance. Mysterious and slightly melancholy, but actually holds few secrets. There is an accidental flirtatious side to her, her dark eyes make her appear forlorn at all times. Soft spoken yet stern. Her playful side is special, and shown only to family friends and the men she has loved. She is often mistaken for a courtesan because of her natural yet rare voluptuous physique. No matter what she wears it always appears sexy on her, even though that is not her intent at all. She wants to hide, but it’s impossible for her to. Underneath the jammy sensual unattainable rose hides the earthly maternal side. The motherly skin scent: a sweet earthy rose lotion with the scent of vintage cosmetics. One day her true love helps her to learn that the deep longing she carys everywhere in her eyes was for one thing, to become a mother someday.

Rose jam, yes! A luscious, gooey-thick, floral jam. Sweet like a vanilla cookie/biscuit with a tangy bit of patchouli. I do love rose fragrances both soliflore & beautiful blends and I've come to love vanilla gourmands. Tumulte is the best of both worlds - a pure rose floral but with a gourmand vanilla twist. I wouldn't have described Tumulte as a strawberry filled doughnut -as did a reviewer below- but I certainly understand how a nose other than mine might "get" Tumulte that way. There's a definite "baked goods" vibe to the vanilla aspect. While I don't wear Tumulte often I enjoy the rose/vanilla elixir enough to have purchased a back-up bottle. If you love roses you definitely owe it to yourself to sample Tumulte. I'll wager a full bottle will be on your wish list shortly thereafter. P.S. If you love vintage Tocade you will love Tumulte.

One of my most favourite designers roses and has a lot in common with Brulure De Rose of PG indeed. I had Tumulte before I tried Burlure and always thought how innovative this smell is, in many ways better and more skilfully crafted than most designer's roses. It is more oriental than floral, sweet, but salty-fresh at the same time, - think of candied by salty caramel non-dry rose petals, - nuanced and aromatic. Rose and patch are topped up with mandarin zest. I agree with reviewer I.I who have noticed "liquor - cognac " quality in this juice. There is something intoxicating in how Tumulte projects, - very party-like. The bottle/packaging suits to this fragrance perfectly.

Just got my bottle today and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! I went by Lillybee's review and she is absolutely right. This does smell like L'instant except dustier and a little darker. I like it far better than L'instant for these reasons. I do get the honey note, too, which is so captivating even though honey isn't listed. I swear I can smell some kind of beautifully, oiled, aged wood like rosewood but there’s no wood listed here either. Sillage is great and dries down to a powdery, woody, sweetness that is divine! If I didn't know better, I'd think this was a Guerlain. This is my new FAVE!! Mmmm...so edible....I can’t stop smelling my wrists! This was a WONDERFUL blind buy!

It was love from the second sniff. I fell for it when I hit sillage of my own wool shawl the next after day I had been out wearing this perfume. I caught lipstick from the past, powder blissfulness and amazing feminine vibe. I got dirty twist in a bed of lush roses, I got lived in womanly scent of a lady properly dressed to charm. It was a mesmerizing dance of classic notes and their modern interpretation. This scent definitely has its meat in patchouli and earthy notes (a flower bed has some soil in there). The trace it leaves is a procreation of soft musk, heliotrope, cosmetic roses (think lancome powders of chanel blush) and a dash of je ne sais quoi. I am thrilled.

Very hard to come by this one so I'm reviewing the scent from a bottle that's almost completely used up and no replacement :-(. It isn't a floriental on me, more of an oriental woody vanilla but quite dark and insensy. A nice combination of earthy, powdery iris and dusty honey note of the tonka is what I get in the drydown. I can't remember getting a lot of rose from it, the patchouli seems to overshadow it. From the fresh citrus top to the honey -vanillic base it reminds me of L'Instant only Tumulte is darker and dustier. I get a nice sillage too but it isn't overbearing at all. A strong but subtle beauty, for those who like florientals with a dark and dusty edge.

I really love it and,though many people would disagree, I find it of a similar 'character' to Absynthe. The same 'full' flavor, the same 'liquer' like scent. It's quite heavy but not in a bad way (not like La perla, Jolie Madame and Paloma Picaso who are masculine IMHO), just ...rich. Its sweetness has nothing to do with sugar itself but it derives from some other source, it reminds me in general of a heavy and very very high quality liquer. I love it! Green notes, I haven't detected any of them. It's a thick, full and rich perfume... It's a rather mature scent (not for teens, for sport style, nice for women +25).

It's funny how I got misled by the name and bottle, I simply thought it will be overpowering and noisy like its name would suggest, how wrong.Today I tested it and what a surprise! It is intense but in a goooood way. First some citrus with freesias so nice and sweetish, then more sweet iris and roses which make your nose to stick to your wrist,must be the spicy edge of tonka beans and patchouli which makes me like it so much, otherwise I would not fall for the sweetness itself. After a while all the sweet is gone and subtle floral sent stays, I just wish a bit longer. Lovely perfume for special occasions.

I've tried so hard to find to test it and when I found it and it was a good deal, I ordered it online unsniffed. Last week I was waiting a package as Santa's gift (in red!) and finally I knew this is my new darling. For me is it nursing, warm scent from the top to the tail. Non-misterious and dark, IMO, but sexy, seductive, a bit reminds me to Nivea cream.If you love powdery rose, go for it safely!

Was given as a gift and I think I may have taken this amazing perfume for granted... I crave this scent! The initial spray is a rush that gets my heart in a flutter followed by the dry down which is sweet but not sickly. Very sensual in the way that it makes you want to take risks and believe that anything is possible. Inspirational a real treat.

Just bought my first bottle of Tumulte based on reviews on this site and the fact that I love Christian Lacroix's other perfumes. Wow! I love it! On this crisp winter morning it smells warm and sweet but not sickly - attar of roses and Turkish Delight and a deep comforting glow on drydown - this will be worn all winter long!

I bought a bottle of Tumulte in the 90's and still have it. Such a decorative bottle. A very unique rose. It hasn't lost a note, I am pleased to say. I don't even want to think about what Avon has done with Christian Lacroix. I won't buy any of their offerings. I won't go there.

massive musk with tonka then some heliotrope, juicy fruit, heliotrope and freesia, patchouli, then the rose develops. I would not call this jammy. It's just a sweet fruity rose. Very unique and pretty! The final drydown is completely a smooth, creamy tonka.

When I wear it everybody thinks that is a children perfume.It's too sweet but not only that it's kind of romantic-sexy. Playfull in any case. I like to wear it but I don't know what about the others that they don't

Love, love love! It ́s a sweet, warm and soft classic. Very cozy at least on my skin. If you love the sweet ones this is definitely a try and must have.

I can't agree with Habanita. In Tumulte is nothing "green and masculine", it's one the most nursing, warm and soft scent I know.

Christian Lacroix's Tumulte for me is opens with a heady embrace of mandarin orange and pepper and dries down to a lovely powdery drydown of rose and vanilla sugar. I am a bit wary of the musk in this fragrance as it sort of creates a jarring effect with the heavy tonka bean fragrance. Yet the smell of roses is more dominant, not too sweet and with a comfortable sillage as long as sprayed lightly. With all the drama, it lasts only 5-6 hours on me and requires a second round of spraying. Yet, somehow Tumulte is just what the name implies - it does try to be an intense yet chaotic fragrance. It doesn't take much for it to become overpowering, so one does need to spray with a lighter hand. Even the bold and festive patterns on the bottle depict the dramatic melange of fragrances inside. I am usually a fan of clean fresh floral fragrances and this is nothing like my usual favorites. While I am not sure I'll re-stock it, I do love to spray it sometimes on cooler nights. The husband finds the fragrance sexy, so that's an added bonus!
