To date, my favorite iris perfume. Personal: 9/10 - This is the smoothest, most enjoyable powdery vanilla fragrance I've smelled. Mass appeal: 8/10 – Very approachable for a spicy vanilla. It’s very smooth and enjoyable. Performance: 6.5/10 – Fine. Projects well enough, but definitely doesn't last all day. Value: 6/10 – Expensive, for sure, but the quality makes it very worthwhile if you smell it and love it. Uniqueness: 7/10 – Spicy iris-vanilla isn’t rare, but this execution is polished to perfection, in a way only Louboutin would do. Very pleased despite simple breakdown. SCORE: 73/100 Full bottle buy? YES, one of the better Louboutin releases for my taste. Blind buy? NO, spice and sweetness together can still divide people, and the price doesn't help. Recommend? YES, anyone who loves iris and vanilla MUST smell this! Date night? YES, cozy, intimate, and mature without being heavy. Office safe? YES, applied lightly, though it leans more evening than daytime, even in the cold. Pros: Warm and inviting, smooth spicy vanilla blend, good balance, refined execution. Cons: Expensive, not groundbreaking, limited evolution. Loubirouge blows me away. I'm a certified player hater of purple florals, but this execution is gorgeous. The spicy cardamom is present and gives backbone and depth, while the iris manifests itself as a gentle, powdery accord with a soft reminder of its floral overtones, rather than screaming at you. And the vanilla is a natural, smooth, silky sweet vanilla that wafts, instead of jumping off the skin. What stands out most is the balance. The spices never overpower the vanilla, and the vanilla never turns gourmand or sticky. Instead, it maintains a polished, resinous glow that feels luxurious in a quiet way, and the iris acts as a bridge between the spiciness of the cardamom and the powdery, floral violet. Honestly, it leans feminine despite being pretty similar to Gentleman EDP Boisee, though I think because of its similarity, anyone could pull this off and smell good. I genuinely enjoy it, and it's a reminder that despite not liking certain notes, you can still enjoy a well enough crafted fragrance using them. Most of the time. This is my favorite fragrance at the moment. To my nose this is a smooth, Spicy, not overly sweet, vanilla. I am a big lover of vanilla and cardamom and Iris, (all of which are strong in this fragrance) so this scent is very much my taste. I see that many people say this is a “night out” or “formal event” fragrance and while I do feel LoubiRouge would absolutely work for those special moments, I personally would wear this as a signature scent. To me, this fragrance feels slightly dark and mysterious while still being warm and inviting. I do get compliments on this fragrance and can smell it on myself for hours so I personally don’t have a problem with projection or how long it lasts. I know we are all different but to me, this fragrance does not smell similar to Lune Feline. I found Lune Feline to be harsh and abrasive to my nose. On me Lune Feline reads like acetone mixed with leather, spices and vanilla. Perhaps I got a bad sample there? LoubiRouge does not list it on the notes but I do feel I get some smooth incense and soft amber in the dry down. I feel this leans slightly feminine however, I absolutely think this could fall into a unisex category and the vanilla here never ventures into an overly sweet or gourmand territory. I’m completely in love with this scent. I see many people saying it is not unique enough to be worth the price, and I respect we all have a different idea of what that means. I also understand there are many beautiful fragrances at lower prices so spending this amount for a beautiful scent is not necessary. However, I have tested hundreds of fragrances and have personally not found one like this, a fragrance that feels like it fits me so well! I was able to get this at a better price from Selfridges, even with shipping prices to the USA, the price was still a better deal, just thought I’d share that tip for anyone considering this to look into. As far as the bottle goes, I can see how it’s not everyone’s taste, I personally love unique and whimsical things so I adore the bottle itself and love seeing it on my fragrance tray!

Extremely similar to Bois d’argent and Bois d’Iris by VCA.. however this fragrance simply does not cut it. For the price and elaborate packaging, one would expect something that hasn’t already been done. To my nose, this is a feminine leaning Bois d’argent. The vanilla sweetness, which is more apparent in this one, tempers the light spice of the cardamom. It’s a very simplistic interpretation of what could have been a sultry, sophisticated addition to the LV line. Edit: many months after this review, I decided to wear my decant of this fragrance- because why not? Well I’m here to say that this fragrance has totally changed my mind. I caught whiffs of spiced iris, with paper like undertones combined with white amber (the kind that Nemat sells) all day. It melds beautifully with my skin chemistry. In a word: stunning. Maybe I was too hasty in my judgment of her. They say fragrances need a while to “sit” once they’ve been in transit for days. I, of course, simply do not have the patience. Loubirouge comes in a “loud” bottle but the fragrance itself is rather elegant and demure. It’s quiet, yet striking.

Cardamom bomb in the opening! Then smoothes out to a beautiful still slightly spicy lipsticky vanilla. This reminds me of so many fragrances, Remember Me, Changing Constance, Dior Homme Intense, Gris Charnel & the new Shalimar Iris, like a mish mash of those fragrances. No doubt this is super high quality, exceeding most niche i would say. It is also a soft scent, but i wouldn't want this scent profile to be beast mode tbh. Trying to figure out if this would be redundant to add to my collection...Also leans a tad masculine... Update: Performance is atrocious. Worst performing EDP I have encountered so far. Skin scent within 15 min, and after an hour you won't smell anything. I thought Santal Complet was bad but this is as bad as it gets. What a pity as the scent is amazing... Update2: I used up my 4ml decant and I can't get it out of my head so I bought the full bottle. The lipsticky vibe captured my heart, as I have been searching for the ultimate lipstick scent for a while. Here is to hoping the performance gets better as it macerates.....Also, in person THE BOTTLE IS GLORIOUS!

Loubirouge is a very simple fragrance, the notes listed are exactly what you get, and I say that in the most positive way imaginable. I get cardamom, dry iris and a slightly powdery vanilla. I know a lot of people have described this as a sexy fragrance, but I disagree. This is not sexy at all to me, it’s comforting. It's something I wear at home, for me, and only for me. It's so calming and cozy. There's nothing warm in this fragrance, it's actually quite dry and almost "cold" but I still find it so comforting. It's elegant, a little powdery (but not makeupy) and minimalistic. The longevity is decent, about 6 hours. Moderate projection. I have a 4 ml sample that I use very sparingly since I don't want to run out of it. Loubirouge is not available in my country (none of the Louboutin fragrances are), and no online store will ship it here. I don't know why. I really wish I could buy a full bottle. Please, Christian Louboutin, make this available for purchase in Sweden! 9/10.

I ordered a 4mL tester of Loubidoo and was sent this. Let me tell you, when you're expecting strawberries, roses, and cedar and smell this...I was like WTF? I was not into it and I was so confused. It smelled spicy and woody. I thought it was a very spicy rose but could detect no rose (duh, no wonder) and I definitely did not detect any strawberry. Lol. After looking at the box and looking at these notes, it makes much more sense now. I didn't love it at first, tbh. It was just okay. Now I really love this one. It reminds me of Althair by PDM. At first this smelled masculine, then spicy, then woody and very sweet. If you like spicy vanilla scents, I think you'll like this. It became a love for me after giving it a few tries. Cardamom has become one of my favorite spicy notes. Also, be very careful if you order the 4mL sample because mine broke on opening and shattered. Super flimsy glass. I bought my bottle of EBay and got a killer deal.

Loubirouge, you have haunted my dreams. I wanted to hold the resistances from the purchase or move on to find another like you. Upon first glance, your packging is gaudy and overwhelming, glorifying the simple three-note composition that you are. I tried to tell myself I’d find another like you, with tamer packging and even more reasonable prices. So I sampled and tested all the iris fragrance I could. But all fell short to when I kept coming back to you. Again, I told myself you weren’t worth it. That I’d find such a smooth, luxurious and soft iris-vanilla combination somewhere else. I searched for an iris that wasn’t too powdery or cosmetic like, but I fell short each time and kept thinking about you. Eventually, your gaudy packging with that small stiletto heel that sat upon the globe called to me...and I couldn’t resist.

Such a stunning fragrance. I wore this today, only a few sprays but brought the Decant with me. I received so many compliments. A clerk said What do you have on? It’s so beautiful! She wasn’t familiar, having the decant in my bag, I offered her a spray, she was elated, she’s probably still sniffing her arm. I purchased this and Loubifunk. I ordered Loubidoo tonite.I’m loving the DNA, simple as it may be, the bottle is fabulous( it had to be red.) it will be iconic. Longevity and projection are perfect, the way it evolves is like story time. I had whiffs of the changing notes, then the dry down was something soft and telling. I have had a difficult time with iris notes in the past, but I fell hard for this fragrance. It’s worth the hype. Loubirouge is basically a powdery, spicy iris. It is so nicely balanced between the powderiness, the spiciness from the cardamom, and the floral note from the iris. It is slightly sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. This does vaguely remind me of BDK Gris Charnel (I think it’s the cardamom which is very distinctive in both). But Loubirouge is softer, sweeter, and more “feminine-coded” with the distinctive iris note. Gris Charnel is more of a unisex spicy fragrance. That being said, if you love Gris Charnel, it is likely you will enjoy Loubirouge as well, as that was the case for me.

Obviously not the most original warm vanilla, but it's vanilla...how many variations of it can there really be?! To me, this is Lune Feline without the hint of animalic notes, or maybe it's like layering Spritueuse Double Vanille with Lune Feline. In other words, a slightly watered-down version of LF. I prefer LF to this because I think it's just a bit more complex and interesting. Having said that, I can't imagine this offending anyone and think it's completely safe to wear anywhere. The juice is nowhere near worth the price, but not regrettable, imo because it will be used. Maybe a 7/10, (and only a 7 because it's a little boring but definitely pleasant).

Spiced vanilla. Warm, balsamic vanilla peppered with fresh spicy cardamom and a faint hint of lipsticky iris. Like caramels dusted with corn starch to prevent sticking, or a syrupy mess being cleaned up with an absorbent, the resinous core is balanced with a powdery top layer that pushes it in a dry direction. Soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 6-8hr. Dry in either sense of the word, as the slightly earthy cardamom and powdery iris temper the sweetness of the vanilla at the same time acting as a desiccant to the viscous texture of the ambery resins. Warm and comforting semi-gourmand unfortunately lacking in performance.

In a word: flawless. The blend, the ingredients, the final smell, everything is tuned to perfection. The cardamom in this one made me obsess about the note. I knew this was similar to Bois d’iris and Bois d’argent (less), some scent profiles which I do enjoy, but I was immediately mesmerised by Loubirouge. From the first spray, I felt it was like a perfect set of gloves, just wrapping themselves arround my skin. The notes are beautiful themselves, but the blend is the key here. It is that type of perfume that merges with you and you are again reminded of the beauty in perfumery. Exotic, deep, sensual, elegant, timeless.

Starts off with a blast of green cardamom, with a hint of vanilla. After about 20 mins, I get the lipsticky beautiful iris. It stays there with the vanilla until the drydown at which point I get a basic spiced vanilla that is already too close to the skin to properly enjoy it. This literally lasted 2 hrs on me. I'm pretty sure 80% of the cost is the bottle, which is beautiful and heavy. I decant it in a travel spray and carry with me to reapply several times a day. I use about 3-5 ml a day to keep it going and I'm not an over sprayer normally. So for the price point, I wouldn't repurchase.

#firstimpression Loubirouge Christian Louboutin I tried this fragrance yesterday. It's a beautiful combination of warm and spicy cardamom with powdery iris and sweet vanilla. The opening is a beautiful burst of Cardamom. The cardamom smells really natural here. Gradually the powdery iris becomes noticable. The vanilla adds some cozy sweetness to the fragrance. All three notes blended together creates a posh elegant yet sexy fragrance bubble. It's not that heavy so I think anyone who loves these notes will definitely love it. To my nose Loubirouge Christian Louboutin is a flawless beauty ❤️

They list only 3 notes and I think it gives a correct image of what this fragrance smells like. I clearly smell cardamom, iris, vanilla; in that order. Very nice, a little spicy, a little sexy. Can smell it for 5-6 hours. It becomes less spicy by the hour and is left with a soft vanilla scent. Some people compared it to Bois d’argent but definitely not. This one is sweet and feminine. Maybe Eau Duelle is the closest match minus the herbal aspect. Overall, it is a lovely perfume that I could recommend if you are looking for a cardamom scent that is feminine :)

Beautiful. Not hugely powdery, the iris just gives a kind of softness. It smells more of real iris petals than the usual powder bomb. Although as it dries it inevitably gets a bit more powdery. No makeup or Parma violet sweets here. It’s warm, and has my favourite cardamom smooth kind of spice. And quality vanilla bringing a lot of creamy sweetness, not the synthetic screechy vanilla of Mancera and cheaper perfumes. Really, really lovely. The best iris I’ve tried.

Gorgeous fragrance! If I were to describe the person wearing this beauty I would say she is elegant, confident,warm but reserved because she doesn’t need to say a word in order to be noticed. I have not yet smelled BdA but it falls in the same category as eau duelle but deeper, sweeter, a little more feminine less resinous. I also think it's a less spicy more airy version of lune feline. Projection is good, longevity not bad but could be better for the price.

I've had my bottle for a few months now. This perfume is notorious for having bad performance. I have to say that after macerating for a few months, the strength in mine has improved. This does not project or leave a trail, no matter how much I spray but let me tell you it last. I still smell it after 8 hours. I love everything about this fragrance, the glorious bottle and the scent so I am fine with the con. Keeper for life for me!

The mix of iris and cardamom make this very unisex. It has vibes of Valentino Uomo intense. The vanilla does keep it sweet, maybe too sweet to please some men, but for me it’s definitely for anyone (it’s no sweeter than ultra male, for example). Has a similar level of vanilla sweetness as Nishane Ani. Really stunning fragrance. However for the price I will stick to my beloved Uomo intense.

I bought a sample of this and it arrived on the same day as a bottle of VC&A Bois D’iris. Now I’m afraid to open the bottle bc I love this sweeter version so much. Gorgeous vanilla Iris scent. I see claims here that it doesn’t last. I can’t comment on that yet but my goodness this scent is divine. Beautiful, warm, cozy, winter Iris.

First impression from my little sample: I'm already hooked on this one! The cardamom in the opening reminds me a bit of TF Noir Extreme mixed with VC&A Bois d'Iris, it then dries down very similar to Bois d'Iris. I heard a Youtuber say it's like 95%+ similar to Boucheron Iris de Syracuse and I strongly disagree with that statement.

Fantastic spicy vanilla iris. Cardamom can often pull citrus but in this fragrance it almost leans more black pepper. The Iris is beautifully executed and the lingering skin scent of both plus vanilla is to die for. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an easy every day fragrance that’s cozy while still being intriguing.

Its a fairly simple fragrance in terms of notes, Vanilla, iris and cardamom but its gorgeous in composition and very smooth. I find it a comforting fragrance and wear it to bed. I also own Dior's Bois D'Argent, the honey and incence give it much more depth compared to Loubirouge, but Loubirouge is easier to wear generally.

Feminine, powdery, iris vanilla. It’s linear but still luxurious and complex and interesting. Smells sophisticated, expensive, and unchallenging. I feel like this is wearable year round outside of the hottest of summer days. Easily could become someone’s signature fragrance.

Really surprised nobody is connecting this to Santal 33. It has that apparent sandalwood:iris accord just without the aromatics and a hefty dose of vanilla. this is a fantastic fall/winter fragrance but a bit heavy for summer.

Sophisticated, iris with the spice of cardamom and vanilla, what more could you ask for! Its powdery dry down is airy and sensual. It’s feminine and mysterious, every diva should own this in her collection!

It's not in the database yet but DUA has a dupe for this, Rouge Dua. I'm quite impressed, I don't think most people could tell the difference. Very good option for this pricey stunner!

reminds me of bois d’argent and bois d’iris. More vanilla tho. Work, casual, formal doesnt matter this works everywhere. Why is the 100ml is so ugly compared to the 50

So simple and elegant, perfect for a winters night out, long gown and red lipstick not required to enjoy this scent, but certainly adds to its effects.

Weak performance nice scent for couple of minutes

Lovely vanilla cardamom scent. The iris is more noticeable in the drydown. It reminds me a lot of Eau Duelle by Dyptique. Eau Duelle is a little more thorny/resinous while Loubirouge has a very slightly powdery finish where you can clearly smell the iris. Eau Duelle is more appropriate for everyday wear, while Loubirouge is just as suitable, but being more elegant, it can be worn in more chic evenings. With its floral notes, it makes the perfume more sophisticated. It's too expensive for what it is, but overall magnificent. I blind bought it (it's rare) because I had no way of trying it and I was convinced I would like it and it's a win. The price would have been more reasonable around $300

Unboxed the discovery sets a couple of days ago and here are my thoughts about this one This is such a quietly beautiful scent. The cardamom is sa bit warm, spicy, and a little seductive. Then it softens into this powdery iris, kind of lipsticky but airy, and finally into a creamy vanilla that makes me feel comfortable. It’s elegant, unisex imo, and super wearable. But let’s be real... performance isn’t great. After a few hours, it becomes a skin scent. If you love soft spicy florals and don't mind reapplying, it’s worth trying. Marie Salamagne created something really refined here. It’s not groundbreaking in terms of uniqueness and lasting power, but it is addictive.

Loubirouge really reminds me of Changing Constance by Penhaligon’s. Loubirouge is the subtle version of CC. I already have CC, I don’t think I need to have both but if I were given a chance to choose between them I would choose Loubirouge, it is more concentrated with the vanilla note at the dry down and the spice goes away where as CC the spicy stays at the dry down. I was expecting Loubirouge to be less spicy but the initial spray blew me away in a bad way. The dry down is what I love with this perfume it’s a sexy vanilla. For the price, I don’t think the fragrance is worth it. Do not blind buy!

Got a decant of this to see if I want to add it to my collection. Really elegant fragrance as a lot of reviews say, but it is also awfully similar to Lune Feline minus the smokey touch. Not too surprising given both of those fragrances are by Marie Salamagne and they have similar notes. I think this is a great perfume to have for all year wear but especially late fall-winter season. It's simple, comforting, grown up spicy vanilla. Not a sweet gourmand scent. You need to like cardamom as it is dominant.

This is the most hyped of the Louboutin fragrances. A sweet yet spicy cardamom dominant perfume in a collection of florals. This is very beautiful and wearable in its simplicity, like a more feminine and powdery incarnation of BDK's Gris Charnel, confirming my love for the notes of cardamom and iris. This would make a perfect signature as it is soft and discreet enough to be worn in the daytime and year round. Lovely and my favourite from the collection, but still overpriced in my opinion.

With the cardamom, I was expecting something different. Perhaps something more similar to Althair by Parfums de Marly, which I absolutely adore.... but nope!! This is a pretty fragrance but it's not all that interesting. It smells nice, but yeah.. I would just expect more complexity at this level!! It's a pass for me, though I do enjoy the bottle. I'm really surprised by some of the raving about this fragrance.. I can think of many in this vein, but with so much more depth, relatively!

This is delicious! I did not expect to like this as much as I did. You get the iris in the opening and this slightly dusty spiced aroma. The vanilla starts to come through in the dry down. I had one person tell me this was soft and another say it was too strong of a fragrance, so I guess it depends on the nose? It's cozy and somewhat elegant. I'd wear this to dinner on a cold night out. I know the notes are simple, but this is a masterpiece blend of notes.

I can see this being someone's signature scent. It's a bit unusual, evolving constantly; exotic. The first 60 seconds are addictive; a purple floral. Then the cardamom kicks in. This stage was a bit much for me. But if you like cardamom, it's done very well, not too pungent. The dry down is a light, but potent, vanilla. On my skin, the opening and dry down have moderate sillage, and the middle is a skin scent.

Love the scent but can't justify buying it with that weak performance. The scent is very feminine in my opinion and the cardamom mixed with vanilla is a beautiful twist. If someone hugged me wearing this perfume I will try my best to hug back longer 🤣 .. the scent mixed with the hug makes you think all your problems will be fixed.

Soft somewhat spicy powdery scent. On the dry down it has more depth. I can tell it’s well blended, but the opening profile is not one I gravitate towards. But it smells exactly like the notes listed so if that is your thing you are going to love it. When the vanilla comes through it begins to shine for me.

This is a softer and more powdery Nishane Ani. I prefer the Nishane juice but the Loubirouge bottle. I suppose it justifies having both ;)

Spicy creamy vanillaisque iris. Normally I don’t like iris so I’m still very fence sitting on this one. It’s not so iris as to remind one of lipstick or other cosmetic items but it’s definitely there in bold light but in a form I’ve never smelled before. Let just say that it’s better than being an okay. It definitely will be an acquired taste. Edit. Lasted well over 12 hrs but the last few hrs stick very close to the sprayed spot.

Just boring. The bottle is to die for and I would love for the juice inside to match the kind of naughtiness it evokes but alas, it just smells like a goody two shoes (pun intended) boring school girl 🙄 she doesn’t have any other goals than to study and watch her young life pass her by...

This isn’t my cup of tea. I tried to like it, but it’s too spicy and earthy for my taste. It reminds me of the fresh scent of trees and grass when hiking. I wish the vanilla would project a bit more. It works so much better paired with a vanilla body spray.

I thought this one was okay. Not a great scent but I don't hate it. It's very weak however. 90% had faded within 30 minutes and now two hours later I can't detect even a hint. I actually used quite a bit too, it just immediately disappears.

Opening is all about the spicy cardamom and dry iris, but it remains present throughout wear. Dry down is soft and mildly sweet, vanillic. It is beautiful and well-blended, but I don’t love it enough for the price. 5/10
