Mangostino Extrait de Parfum

Gorgeous scent. Now...it is different on clothes and surfaces than on skin. On skin it does turn into a leathery oud (as stated below), yet it tik-toks back and forth. That is, on skin it goes from that leathery oud (the leather is like that of Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather) to that dark fruity oud (yes, mangosteen-ish (or mango-ish)), and back and forth. If you want it to remain the dark fruity oud leather, just spray it on clothes. This is a lighter version of Maison Crivelli's Oud Maracuja, and I think more versatile. It does do better in the cold. I'm in TX and its warm outside, but when I came into the cafe it just started dancing. I think the best part of it is that it is not overwhelming (unlike how Oud Maracuja can get, which I think is best worn on a night out when you really want to project and have it last all night). This does last a long time, but 2-3 sprays in an intimate setting and you are all set. I did four today and it was just the right amount, though, if I could, I would take away one spray to make it dance a bit subtler. This is one you just have to know how to work with. Don't overspray (unless going out and wanting to seriously project while all your other senses are busy interacting with your surroundings, and don't spray on skin unless you like Tuscan Leather with a bit of oud and fruit, and yes, I agree, that can get weird). Try it out, it is certainly worth it. This is ahead of LV's Ombre Nomade and Oud Maracuja, and I think on par with (probably slightly ahead of) Maison Crivelli's Oud Stallion. Yes, I know, many of these have a synthetic - or next to no real - oud, but they smell amazing if you know how to work with them. Spray a few times, and walk away with these, don't overspray, and don't put your nose directly in the area you just sprayed like you want to vacuum up all the molecules. Just chill, sit back, and enjoy it. But yes, go smell this, and get a sample, its worth it.

I get a very dominant oud in Mangostino. The oud in here is slightly leathery and dirty, not too much, and with a fruity accord ( I think it may be ripe yellow mango, but I am not sure as the fruts here are blended really well). But the main note on top is certainly slightly leathery oud. In the mid, the fragrance becomes more dominated by smooth, slightly sour leather. I find this fragrance unisex and not tropical. The sillage on my is moderate, but I have very cool skin and the sillage is always moderate on me. For me personally, this is a pass.

My least favorite of the three new 2025 releases from this house. A synthetic mango fragrance. Feminine leaning. I don't like it, and Christian Provenzano is in my top 10 favorite perfumers. 5.5/10

Disappointing. I was expecting a fruity tropical fragrance with oudy and leathery aspects, but instead got a strong leather and oud fragrance with a little bit of fruitness in the opening
