Santal Indien

This is a lovely warm, extra creamy sandalwood with the loveliest whisper of sweetness (it gets delicately sweeter over time on my skin, ending sweeter than it started) from I assume the tonka bean as well as the orange blossom. I think orange blossom can sometimes hijack a fragrance, but here it’s just a perfect hint. This is very creamy, and somehow I get a bit of coconut, even though none is listed. This is perfection in a bottle to my nose. I have heard of the perfumer but didn’t know he had a line bearing his name. I’m so glad I discovered this in a niche perfume shop while on vacation in the UAE or I would never have come to own it. The bottle feels good in my hand, a cool matte black that feels like glazed porcelain.

If I didn't try Memo Inverness, I would have purchased Santal Indien. These are the two best sandalwood fragrances I've discovered lately. They are not really similar imho. In fact, Santal Indien more reminds me of Amouage Meander, but less nutty and heavier on vanilla. Inverness is more sandalwood forward, and shares similar profile to Gris Charnel. The blend of Santal Indien is comforting and smooth, but it's a bit weak on me...Not sure how the Extrait version performs...

I love this perfume! It lasts and projection lasts throughout the wear time. It lasted about 9 hr on my skin. It smells like powdery sandalwood and a bit lactonic. It reminds me a bit of Piano Santal because of the lactonic quality. I can smell saffron note only at the opening and then it goes away and I’m left with the vanilla, Tonka and sandalwood. This is my favorite sandalwood perfume.

Beautiful and very unisex. I bath on this every time I wear it. Longevity up to 7hours with moderate projection ( not bud at all ) great quality, you can tell. And for some reason very relaxing scent. Mostly sandalwood and vanilla. Ghrrrr so good.
