Midnight Silhouette

Got this as a sample with my fragrance order and kept thinking it reminded me of something but I couldn't figure out what. Then it came to me - the pipe tobacco my father used on occasion. Smells exactly the same as the unlit pipe tobacco he used. That's how all the blended notes smell to my nose. Crazy thing is, I like it! Anything that can bring back the memory of my father smoking his pipe is a good thing. It's worth a purchase just for that. Update - I wore the sample outside today and all I can say is "Wow!" This is quite the compliment getter, and all from men! I went to a function this afternoon and about 10 men at different times told me I smelled "great; fantastic; amazing; gorgeous; beautiful; etc." Many even asked me what the fragrance was because they wanted to purchase it (some didn't say whether for themselves or someone else). This has to be the record holder for compliments of any perfume I've ever worn since I started wearing perfume decades ago. So listen up girls (and guys); want to make an impression on that special someone? Wear this! Oh, and it lasts all day. I can still smell it strongly at 11pm tonight since I first put it on at 11am today. Amazing! I sure hope the bottle I ordered performs the same way. Update - It does. Just want to add the bottle has this sparkly material on it that feels like sandpaper and the box smells very chemically from the dye used to color it. Strangest thing I've ever experienced with a perfume.

To me, and to my guy, this fragrance is a marvel of delight! I would say that it is not at all sweet, praline and candy notwithstanding. There is a fragrance like sweet hay that's just been brought into the barn loft; a grassy smell that reminds me of lying in a field, wildflowers here and there, a faint scent of honeysuckle wafting from the house gardens behind the fields. And underlying it, the warm, rich, herbal fragrance of vetiver. And in this, the musk actually smells like musk! Have they finally found a synthetic that matches deer musk? I sure hope so. I don't want the dear little deer to be killed for their scent, ever, but I sure do miss real musk oil. There's nothing to equal it. Anyway, I got this perfume at the same time I bought Commodity Velvet Expressive, and they seemed very similar for having such dissimilar fragrance trees. I put the Velvet E. on one wrist, and the Midnight Silhouette on the other, and went downstairs to my boyfriend. (We were off for a pre-New Year's Eve dinner later, so I was getting set for the night.) He sniffed both wrists several times. He liked both, but he chose the Silhouette, thinking it fresher and more appealing for a dinner engagement. Today, I'm going to wear the Velvet and then I'll have a review on it to write. MS lasted well into the night, and there was still a faint ghost on my skin in the morning. That's what I'm looking for. Perfumers, keep it up!

I really really love this! It smells like a pretty boy that’s got everything together. When I say pretty boy I mean young Harry Styles pretty, not just good looking. I could see this on a woman too! It’s lovely! It starts with smelling like salted, dried orange with vetiver giving it a slightly woody earthy feel and then goes into the praline and sweet notes making it less intimidating and more comforting. It’s so addicting and lovely! Can’t believe they chose to market this towards women only, this smells so androgynous and unisex! Anyone could wear this and I wouldn’t question it! This almost smells like an office scent but with personality! Would be good in any weather, any occasion, any time of the day. Such a good scent and so underrated! Longevity is good and especially good on clothes. This lasts for days on fabric without losing any of the notes! Sillage is great too! This doesn’t match my personality but I would love to smell this on someone else. If you like Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but want something sweeter and more complex, try this!! Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Price: 7/10 (Ok priced for a perfume this good) School Friendly! May be Work Friendly if you spray lightly! Dear Mr. Siriano - I do not know if you spend anytime on Fragrantica but if you do, let me take a moment to thank you. As we learned from your fashion designs, your *quirky* sensibilities masked a far deeper appreciation for aesthetics, balance, beauty and nuance. Knowing this, despite the *quirky* bottle, I should have expected no less from your fragrance line. Perhaps it was the cost - I simply figured at this price, finding a FB worthy scent from your house was too good to be true. I now own three of your fragrances as part of my larger collection and I reach for them often. Once again you have exceeded expectations. Midnight Silhouette is a creamy, delicious perfume, with just the slightest touch of salt atop the citrus opening. The mid notes are expertly blended to achieve a smokey sugared floral, it then settles beautifully into a sweetened, warm vetiver musk base. While I wish it lingered a bit longer - at this price I can keep spritzing throughout the day. Thank you again XO - A fragrance fan

To say this is a rich & luxurious fragrance is an understatement...this is an evening fragrance...something you'd wear to a ball or masquerade... definitely classy "old money" scent. This is so well and smoothly blended together I can't pick out any of the notes. I do get a bit of salt, and a unique, unusual musky sweetness which could be the praline and "sweet notes". This scent is to die for. This is like Gotham at midnight (90's batman and batman returns) with darkness, mystique and elegance and all the rich people you'd imagine in the beautiful sleek, skyscrapers, drinking wine, eating caviar talking about money. This stuff is just gorgeous and is my favorite Christians Siriano fragrance so far. I want this to be my secret, so when people been asking what I'm wearing, I've been telling people it's an oil that I've picked up from a metaphysical shop lol. Most people don't people believe me since this just smells so good, and then I just 'forget' the name of the fragrance all together!!

Loving this as an evening “going out” fragrance. It’s so unusual for a sweet fragrance to be elegant— and just as unusual for a fragrance to be elegant without aldehydes. As @MoonFlare noted below, this is a wonderful “classy“ scent that would indeed be a perfect fragrance for a masquerade or a ball. (Or a Broadway show, which is where I’m wearing it next week.) I’m a big fan of Christian Siriano‘s Intimate Silhouette, which is my daily fragrance in colder months. While there is a light familial resemblance, Midnight Silhouette is definitely the going out on the town flanker, yet it is also sweet and unpretentious enough to be worn on any kind of date. If you are looking for an evening fragrance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, definitely check this out. Edited to add: this is gorgeous and long lasting on fabric.

My partner was wearing ‘Intimate Silhouette’ by Christian Siriano last week, so I just had a look through Christian’s other offerings and happened to stumble across miss Nicole’s review below me where she mentioned it smells like snif’s ‘sweet ash.’ My partner and I have been FLYING through the tiny 1oz snif bottles, and considering Nicole is an absolute DOLL with a similar nose I can trust, I decided to take a shot in the dark. Thank goodness for her being the only one to draw the relation. I got my bottle yesterday and its nearly 1:1, I’m so elated!! 😇 Anyone looking for their ‘sweet ash’ fix affordably, look no further. Everyone say “Thank you miss Nicole!” 😌💞

This fragrance is absolutely delicious. Has potential to become my favorite, actually. It's got some of my favorite notes in pomelo, freesia, and vetiver, and then adds these other elements that make it just amazing. It ends up as a warm woodsy gourmand with the praline really shining on my skin. It smells truly unisex in my opinion. I'm trying this in summer, but I think this would be perfect to wear to a New Year's party, accompanied by a shimmery black dress with your date just wanting to keep dancing with you to take in this scent again and again. Sexy in a glamorous way. Love.

Midnight Silhouette by Christian Siriano is a wonderfully sweet aromatic fragrance. The salt lends a dry quality that allows the scent to blend beautifully with skin, while the pomelo and orange add a hint of bitterness which keeps the scent from becoming cloying. The freesia and praline dominate as the musk ushers in a softness, allowing the vetiver to gently ground the experience. This is my second purchase from Christian Siriano’s line, and I have yet to be disappointed.

The more I try this one the more I like it, and I think it might be my signature winter scent. It's not overly complicated, no, but is very pleasant and has a nice transition from creamy citrus to a balanced warm sweetness with some musk over the first two hours. On fabric the opening notes stick around for days and is delicious- the vetivier, salt and citrus smell very much like a young fresh bergamot leaf.

this reminds me of Guerlain Orange Soleia in the beginning and intimate silhouette on the dry down. I love this perfume because it reminds me of a refined pink sugar, which I was obsessed with at 15 and all thru highschool and now at 28 I find a so much nostalgia and comfort and wearability from midnight silhouette and the other flankers from this line

Praline is the main note I’m smelling here. First impression is that it smells EXACTLY like those kiosks where they sell candied nuts around the holidays. It smells really nutty, sweet and just down right edible and delicious.

Love this fragrance! It’s absolutely beautiful and yes a night or cold weather gem. It’s absolutely smells like there are more florals than noted here for me it’s got that Dior Addict vibe. The bottle is awful though!

Did not expect this to be so sexy & comforting. It’s a married blend of creamy / aromatic aromas. Slightly masculine leaning which is where the sexuality comes into play. For such a random cheapie I’m very impressed!

To expand on the reasoning for my previous review, this scent is chic, sexy, and meant for cold weather. Midnight Silhouette is like a cashmere turtleneck over black lingerie.

Gorgeous creamy citrus and praline with some earthiness from the vetiver. I was surprised by this one!

Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut

On spray, Midnight Silhouette is quite masculine; it's woody, salty, and a bit bitter. The sweeter notes kick in quickly, however, and the pomelo and blood orange become more distinguishable in the drydown, topped off with the praline giving the blend a creamy, vanilla-like quality. I'd say this is a sweet unisex scent. I tend to be into very feminine scents, but I think this one will stay in my collection for variety. I like the bottle, it looks like someone swirling around in a long, black glitter dress to show it off, or while dancing, which is a cute concept for a perfume bottle. The glitter is inconvenient, though, as it gets on your hands while handling the bottle. There should be a sheer (matte) coat on top to seal the glitter in. The scent profile isn't groundbreaking, no, but it's a pleasing, gently intoxicating perfume for the nighttime. The longevity's great, lasts easily for about 7-8 hours on my skin, and super long on clothes. Wear it to a club, or a date, or even an event on the more sophisticated side, and you're more than likely to receive compliments. 7.5/10

I just received a sample of this in my Frangrancenet order and I was SO glad to receive a sample of anything other than Simply Belle for once. I like it and do not find it cheap, just sharp at the beginning due to the salty and citrus notes. On the dry down, I actually find it very similar to both Burberry Women and Jessica Simpson Fancy Love, although less feminine and sweet than the other two. Since I already have the other two though, I probably wouldn’t purchase this unless the other two both became difficult to find.

I received a sample of this with another purchase, I LOVED it first spray onto a biz card. Softly sweet musk. Mmmm... Loved it. Showered, then used it on my skin with nothing else, just unscented lotion. It became waaaay too sweet and sticky for my taste after a little while. The dry down was alllll praline and sugar and vanilla. Very pretty in the air, like smelling something baking, but I was stuck smelling it on my skin all day. Not for me. Bottle is the bomb, though! Almost kept it for that reason... LOL
