Royal Desire

I just got this through post an hour ago! Was tempted by a good deal, so decided to check out the notes. Bought it online, so I can't really smell it, but I still took a risk cause I love sweet powdery scents and MARSHMALLOW!!! I bought it as a gift set and it came with a nice clutch bag, 50ml body lotion and a 30ml EDP. The thing is, when it arrived, it was warm. The delivery people must have left the box exposed to the sun n we all know how heat can spoil pefumes. I was too excited to wait till it's cool, so I just sprayed once on my hand. I'm Malaysian Chinese, so the first thing that came to mind when I smelled this was WESAK day... I felt like I was transported to a temple and was showering the medium sized Buddha statue with flower water, which I would get a packet of it to later mix into my bath water as a cleansing and purification ritual. I smelled a lot of rose, lilies and sandalwood but nothing sweet like marshmallow and berries/currant. I guess I could use this perfume whenever I visited a temple or do yoga or something spiritual, cause it would be perfect! Relaxing, peacefull and calming... Half an hour later, I finally detected the sweetness and marshmallows on my hand. When I smell from the bottle which is now cooled, it smells simply luxurious! Absolutely perfect! It's like a ballance of spirituallity and a wealthy lifestyle... For me, it's like saying, 'U may have fame n fortune, but u r still the same down to earth person'-approachable n respected. :) Too bad the scent doesn't last long and the sillage is weak... For the body lotion, the smell is very creamy and powdery. Afer a few minutes, it smells really luxurious and sweet. I feel the clutch bag would go perfectly well with a classic dress with some lace design and a ribbon. Boutique and chic... Same color as the perfume box and body lotion bottle. ME LIKE IT!!!

I was never a perfume person, because most of them give me horrible headache or sneeze attack, so I didn't think I'd wear one, then I found Royal Desire. I just did quick 'tester on a paper' and sniffed, and got nice light citrust scent (I didn't know there was all different stages of smell back then), sold! bought a bottle of perfume and a can of deospray. I bought them while I was on a vacation, so I didn't bother to use the perfume, instead I used deospray first, and the smell was totally different than when I tested it at the shop, there was no citrus scent but sweet marshmellow which I loved (after that I searched online and learned "how perfume works") Actual perfume's got light citrus scent opening which fades quick, after that sweet marshmellow smell and bit of fruitty smell, and nice musky smell at the end. although the official note state there's flowers scents but I can't smell any, maybe because I'm not an expert with perfumes. I spray on my wrists and the scent last all day for me.

This is one of my favorite perfumes! I got a sample of the perfume a couple of days ago and I absolutely fell in love with this fragrance! I'm not a big fan of Christina's other perfumes but this one smells amazing. At first sniff I could smell the marshmallow and the black currant - a very nice blend of sweet and fruity. I can smell the marshmallow through out the whole time but it turns to a more powdery scent which I really enjoy. It's definitely a sweet scent, but it's not overpowering or sugary sweet. I think that it's a great everyday scent for teens! It's a young, girly and flirty scent in my opinion. The scent last about 4 hours on me and the sillage is good.

I liked Christina's first fragrance, but had mixed feelings about By Night and Inspire. Then Royal Desire came, and I was instantly smitten. I can't put my finger on it, but on my skin this perfume is both refreshing and sweet without being sporty or juvenile. It's suitable for every weather, according to me, but then I have worn Burberry Brit all winter so no wonder this one feels like a fresh breeze. I get the white marshmallow note the most, and it's wonderful without being cloying. It's being followed by the blackberry, and on me this is what creates the refreshing yet sweet smell. In a few words, Royal Desire is a great composition of easy to wear ingredients.

In my oppinion this is the only good one out of CA ́s perfumes. I really don ́t like her others at all and they smell all the same to me. But this one is different. It starts with a wonderful Marshmallow scent, kind of powdery sweet. After I while I smell Incence, but it ́s not listed. Then the sandalwood comes through and it becomes a woody scent. I would have liked more of that Marshmallow scent that ́s been there at the beginning, but unfortionatly it ́s completly gone in the end. The lasting power is good and it ́s really a nice scent! I ́d always rebuy this! I have the small 15ml bottle, perfect for the purse!

I'm sad to be nearing the end of my bottle and I read it has been discontinued. This is a sweet, soft, marshmallow scent with musky rose and iris and I always got a nutty accord, with a soft powdery vibe. Close, intimate and not very long lasting. So easy and delightful to wear. A soft, sweet, lovely woody floral. I find it similar to Monotheme's Almond Blossom which is just a bit softer, a sweet, nutty vanilla - woody fragrance which I just bought from Chemist Warehouse for $15.00 I am super happy with that one too.

Sadly this one is not available anymore, yet there are a lot of new CA perfumes that don't even smell closely as good as this one. I loved the marshmallow note in this. It was not a crazy Gourmand, but a very soft floral one. Kind of like Prada Candy. Classy, but still with that Gourmand touch to it. This one and Inspire were the best in her fragrance line. And both are gone, which is sad. But the original 2007 CA perfume (the first one she released) and By Night one are good, too. Glad they kept those at least.

Usually I don't like floral scents, but this one is something special. I fell in love with it immediately. Two days after buying, the cat threw it on the floor and that was the end of it, but I bought a new one very quickly. I can't really describe this one. The only thing I really notice are the floral notes, but I can't identify the rest of it. Apart from "Inspire" and "Secret Potion" I love her perfumes very much and "Royal Desire" got me hypnotised even though I don't like the flowers... wow!

Does anyone else have a problem with the cap on the one ounce bottle? I bought a 30 ml to use after my 15 ml is gone. The cap for the one ounce doesn't fit so well. It doesn't lock on so to speak. I don't hear a snap or click confirming the cap is secure. It looks exactly like the cap of the smaller bottle so I'm not sure why it isn't attatching properly. Am I the only one having this problem?

I love it! I have always been a big fan of her and her fragrance line so of course i was going to test it... I find Royal Desire to be a mixture between Curious and M by Mariah Carey....the textured marshmallow is absolutely gorgeous...a must have for any stylish lady!

oh yes royal desire does make you "feel like a queen" but definately at day time. Great fragrance for work and studies. It's quite light but you still notice it, no doubt about that. One of Christinas best scents on my skin, and the most long lasting.

i dont get any specific fruits or flowers, its just smell like a very nice mix of all notes in a very sweet and power fragrance, one of my favorites, the base is a very soft vanilla, but the lasting power is definity not good

Love royal desire. it has the same softness as her original perfume but its slightly stronger. smells of rose but its dulled down by a subtle marshmallow scent. it isnt overly sweet. just perfect!

it opens really alcohol-y, but it soon transitions into a smoked marshmallow smell that I just adore. too bad this isn't made anymore.i started using mine very sparingly since I found that out.

this perfume is sweet and seductive but if you put too much of it the blackberry becomes too strong . its kind of creamy musky after while but the marshmallow is always there .

i like royal desire very much. i think it's perfect for day, but if you try it at night you won't miss. very royal smell. my boyfriend likes it too :)

Why is the charm hanging from my bottle a fan? Can't tell what the one in the picture is, but it looks different from mine. Just wondering.

Absolutely adore this perfume. It's the perfect toasted marshmallow scent that I love wearing on chilly days and evenings.

I'm not a huge fan of the Christina Aguilera brands perfumes, but found last year's By Night pleasant, low priced and easy to find [pleasant as in comforting and easy to wear, but not anything original that I'd call a must-own]. Anyway; As the listed ROYAL DESIRE scent notes sounded like a combination between the ingredients used in Christina Aguilera and By Night I thought it'd be worth a try, so I collected several days worth of tester vials for a test... When I first apply this the only note I smell is a lightly powdered vanilla note topped with extra sugar [white marshmallow] - it takes a few minutes for the blackberry to develop and when it does it is short-lived. I didn't pick up on any mandarin, which is a shame. I do love vanilla notes but it seems flat and therefore boring here. The vanilla is strong enough to last throughout the whole fragrance and coupled with the rose notes it creates something similar to Turkish Delight, so the fragrance remains very sweet. The rose is the strongest note, but I can clearly make out the lily too and what I think is the slightest hint of honeysuckle [but since I knew to look for it I might just be kidding myself]. I can't find any reliable sources that clarify which 'herbs' are used but I can't make out even the slightest hint of anything other then the listed florals. There is no strong indication between the heart notes and the base, thanks to the ever-present vanilla. The sandalwood and musk are mingled closely together so it is a warm and creamy mix - combined with the lingering vanilla and you get the same general feel as the top and heart. I can't detect any cedar-wood. The lasting power is the same as the previous Christina Aguilera fragrances = pretty bad for a EDP; It burns down within four hours and becomes close to the skin after one. The vanilla, mild fruits and florals, paired with the warm musk and sandalwood in the base mean that this is a perfect choice for autumn/winter, whilst the fact that the fragrance is close to the skin means that the sweetness is soft enough to still appeal in spring/summer. I think that this is best suited to daytime wear; both casual use and work. I personally think that it's too quiet for nights out, but I suppose it depends on what you have planned. The easiest way to describe ROYAL DESIRE is as a mix of Christina Aguilera and By Night; It combines the mild fruits and florals of the former with the soft, warm, oriental feel of the latter. Much better than her first Christina Aguilera [which is too watered down], but it can't be described as original; it reminds me of a few other fragrances. But as this is a 'celeb' release it is less expensive than most of its scent-a-likes, so it's worth trying out. As it's already similar to perfumes I already own, I won't buy it myself, although it's nice enough that I would wear it if it were given to me as a gift. I also think that it would be a safe gift choice for someone, as it's easy to wear and none of the notes are strong enough to be disagreeable.

Another needlessly discontinued beauty Update: which I recently managed to find online fiiinally. Its different to what I remember; similar but with less blackberry and marshmallow, and more powdery notes. But it is a hot day and I do remember this really shining as a cool weather scent. I bought 100ml bottle online and accidentally bought a 30ml bottle also so if anyone wants to trade in oz, it'll be here next week sometime. Just pm me if interested Update: Liberal application. That is the only way to smell anything with this. On the box it said P&G not Elizabeth Arden so this is an original. Which maybe has turned because; even though the smell is still pleasant, not rancid or bad,its so light I get the faintest of faintest of FAINTEST whiffs after a few hours but its barely there after 15 minutes. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing I got a second bottle lol. Its not nearly as sweet as I remember, instead more powdery iris but still good. Just,as I said,barely there. Maybe others can smell it on me I dunno. Yet another update: this morning was quite cool and crisp and just as i remember, this really shines on a cool day. The sweet marshmallow blackberry scent i remember came straight out. Later once tge weather heated up, it seemed to be no more. Maybe it just evaporates or something in warmth lol

I like Christina and I don't mind Inspire and By Night. I have been wanting Royal Desire for a long time because for everyday wear I like slightly sweet but linear perfumes. Everytime I tested this I liked it. Everytime I tried to get it the store had sold out! I finally got a little bottle they are so cheap to buy here. Now, when I wear it I feel nauseated. I am really bummed because as I said I have liked it for a long time. I get wiffs of it when I move around and it smells as it should on my skin but something is making me feel sick. I have to spray it quite hard for it to feel like I am wearing perfume. In that respect I think By Night is stronger but the chocolate in that makes me feel sick. I am beginning to wonder if gaumet perfumes just don't agree with my stomach. Nice light perfume and if you spray it a lot it lasts but it is very light not as strong as her other perfumes. I think the original has this problem as well. Hopefully her new one will smell a little stronger.

I used to think this one as candy-sweet, but after using it for a while, i see is flowery-sweet. The white flowers are REALLY strong on this one. So is the marshmallow. As i said in a previous review, is like a bunch of white flowers and rose-scented marshmallows mixed up. Is actually a very nice fragrance. Not totally new, but not common either. Maybe if it weren't a celebrity fragrance, people would take their head out of their asses and notice it more (cause really, i see a lot of hate towards celebrity fragrances from people who are just plain snobs, not even concerning the scent). Is VERY SWEET, so if you're not into sweet flowery scents, don't even try this one. Is more young than mature, more night than day. Also, the longevity is AMAZING. It lasts more than 12 hours on my skin. Only projects at the beginning, but stays forever on your skin and clothes.

This smells in between By Night and the original Christina one. The marshmellow is very prominent. The berries are there for a second but dissapear and the marshmellow starts and never leaves. There is no chocolate smell in this one where as the By Night one has berries and chocolate and the original one seems to have peach and vanilla. It lasts for a couple of hrs but then has to be re sprayed. It doesn't cost a lot so I just re spray it. It is pleasant but not as sickley as Britney's Fantasy. Fantasy lasts longer and is a little more complex. I think it is a pretty perfume and I like it and would continue to buy it. If you don't overspray it then it will not offend anyone or give headaches.

One of my favorite Aguilera perfumes, alongside the original first perfume of hers. This scent is in my head connected to the beginning of my relationship with my husband 8 years ago, so it has sentimental value. I don't think that it's extraordinary or very unique, but it does bring a smile to my face every time I smell it, even if just because of those sweet memories. I grew sad to learn that this is now discontinued. Bought a big bottle again, just so that I can hold on to those memories. I don't use it, because I don't want to run out of it. I cherish it that much! It's sweet and floral, but not in a childish way.

Very girly indeed, not too sweet. It's the lightness of this perfume that is bothering me. It's one of those perfumes that you say 'oh, this smells nice, let's see how this goes' and puff, it's gone, so it's really hard to make an opinion about it, as it has poor longevity and projection. But it sure does smell like marshmallows and rose to me. I don't regret buying it as it was very cheap, but I'm not planning to repurchase it again.

Few hours ago i bought it and i love it !! Because i was searching for this for a long time.. I ve other C.A perfumes but this is my real fav. I didnt get very very sick sweet scene, no but i get some lovely honeysuckle and soft powder with light flowers, soooo good for me.. But this is the sad part; it is not very lasting.. Top; 2-3 hour.. You must carry in your bag to fresh yourself in daytime..

I just got this perfume and her original Christina Aguilera perfume the other day and I like this scent but I prefer the other scent more. This smells like marshmallows and honeysuckle. Very pretty but I don't think I will repurchase. Plus the lasting power of this scent is terrible! I get about an hour of lasting power with this and that definitely leaves something to be desired :/

I forgot how much I liked this. The perfume opens with the sweet marshmallow and a bit of fruity juiciness of the blackcurrant, which is especially noticeable when smelling the skin directly. Somehow I smell a bit of liquorice in this perfume, but I think that's the sandalwood combined with another ingredient that tricks my mind into thinking so.

I like it. It's pretty. Not too strong. Rather casual. At first pschitt I thought it was very synthetic. Just 2 minutes later this impression disappeared. A soft marshmallow smell appeared with blackberries and honeysuckle notes (very present). It's fresh and sweet, perfect for spring or summer. Perfect for young women. Correct lasting power.

I'm very glad that the marshmallow was undetected here... this perfume is very light but the projection is right there (but it will only last an hour to 3 hours) Rose and Cedar worked really well so it doesn't smell so GREEN and WOODY like Peace, Love and Juicy Couture. This perfume is so formal, a nice scent for a formal occasions.

I got a 30ml bottle of this yesterday on clearance at Walgreens for $14.99....I like it a lot! I pick up the sweetness of marshmallow,blackberries and with hints of musk,rose and lily. This has about a 4-5 hrs lasting power on me..it could better but I'm not complaining plus this one makes a very nice year round scent imo.

I like this one alot. I get alot of the sandalwood, musk and cedar with this plus the berries. I did not smell the marshmallow at all which kind of bummed me out but I like what I am smelling quite a bit. The dry down of this sort of reminds me a bit of Pink Sugar Sensual only sweeter.

Maybe it is the marshmellow, together with the iris that makes this work so well for me right now? That and the black currants makes this one yummy! With temperatures in the 100's, daytime is just soap and showers but during the evenings, Royal Desire is a favorite.

Royal Desire is sweet yet woody. It reminds me a lot of Twilight Woods. The dry down is nice and warm. This is much better than her original self named perfume, but I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'd purchase this fragrance.

I can smell rose mixed with marshmallows it is a sweet scent but if you don't like rose scent i don't think you like this because almost all i can smell is the rose with the sweet of the marshmallow... Yes i like this

This scent is lovely, I get the sweet blackcurrant note with the middle floral notes appearing shortly after, the sweetness lightens as the perfume develops but remains throughout, a beautifully made fragrance.

I've got a lot of melon and raw jasmine from this, but both are not listed in the notes. I know I didn't try something else instead. How weird! It felt very floral compared to other two CA fragrances.

The marshmallow and Iris are dominant in this one my skin, but not in a sickeningly sweet way, like what happens when I wear some of Ariana’s perfumes. The drydown is beautiful and wearable anytime.

Smells ok,but a bit to "thick" if it fits ones body chemistry i guess it smells ok :) To me it isnt anything special. But now i at leas have tried it, have been wanting to try it ever since it came.

My least favorite Aguilera perfume. All I smell is rose. I again am a huge fan of hers but I don't wear this one too often. It lasts all day and silage is alright. I like it just not for me.

I like it, but it reminds me strongly of bubblegum. Or other children's sweets. It must be the marshmallow note! I don't think I'd like to smell like this:)

I usually don't like white floral perfumes, but this one is very nice. you can smell mostly white florals and marshmellows (and the black current as well).

I’m getting lots of white florals and woods. Smells like spring. However it fades almost immediately upon spraying.

Got this one few days ago on sale for 7 Euros. I kinda like it. Its nice and feminine and warm.
