To be perfectly honest, why I was really looking forward to testing this "MEN'S" fragrance was due to the overwhelmingly positive attention this perfume had garnered on social media especially, TikTok and Instagram. I'm an absolute fiend for tonka bean and saffron fragrances and have tested countless in stores but Christopher Hanlon's Rocks Gold was the one that worked beautifully for me. Yes I am a girl. And yes, I know many friends say this is definitely a boy's fragrance. However I have to admit it smells incredible on me and I only ever use the tiniest spritz on my wrists and decolletage so it is great value. This fragrance is a unique blend of tonka absolute, Australian bush mint, Vetiver, fern and Australian Kangaroo Paw. When first applying "Rocks Gold," the tonka bean absolute and saffron immediately stand out, adding a warm and rich sweetness to the scent. The Australian bush mint and eucalyptus blossom adds a refreshing and invigorating note to the fragrance. The fern and lime provide a fresh and green touch, the Australian kangaroo paw, tulip and spices give an interesting and unique floral note. The Vetiver and otto add a smoky and earthy quality to it and the Western Australian Sandalwood and Styrax Benzoin Resin provide a deep and warm base. The combination of all these notes create a unique, captivating and well-balanced scent that is ideal for day. This fragrance is extremely long-lasting and has a very good projection (not overwhelming), it will last throughout the day and evolve over time (note: none of Christopher Hanlon's perfumes contain any synthetic fixatives or artificial chemicals), making it an all-day wear. It's perfect for people who love unique, artisan and complex scents with a variety of notes. What I really love most about "Rocks Gold" is how it manages to blend the warmth and richness of the tonka bean absolute and saffron with the freshness and invigoration of the mint and eucalyptus, and the deep and smoky earthiness of the vetiver and otto. The Australian kangaroo paw, tulip and spices add an interesting and unique touch to it. I think it is a great aromatic representation of the rugged and wild beauty of Australia. Importantly (to me)Hanlon's perfumes are made using only the finest natural ingredients, and he is known for his unique approach to fragrance creation, which combines traditional perfumery techniques with modern technology. Hanlon began his career as a makeup artist/graphic designer in the fashion industry, but he soon became interested in perfumery. He trained with some of the world's most renowned perfumers, learning the art and science of fragrance creation. After several years of training and experimentation, he began creating his own perfumes, which quickly gained a reputation for their quality and originality in Australia. He was definately a social influencer well before the popularity of Youtube and social media (as we know it today). As a teenager, I believe he was 15 years old, his cosmetic line was already selling in the department stores in Australia including Myer's and David Jones –his specialty was in the Men's beauty. In conclusion, I highly recommend Christopher Hanlon's "Rocks Gold" to anyone looking for a unique, rich and complex fragrance that represents the wild and rugged beauty of Australia. It's a perfect balance of different notes and creates a captivating and well-balanced scent. It's a must-try.

CHRISTOPHER HANLON Rock Gold is a superb creation! It is definitely part of the FRESH genre in perfume. TBH it is sooooo HARD to say what notes are in this perfume because it is so well blended. With most perfumes I can definitely pin-point some of the exact notes but with this perfume blend it is a true work of ART. I have a number of CHRISTOPHER HANLON perfumes now and I have been avidly collecting his creations since 2006. The first CHRISTOPHER HANLON Perfume I purchased was Venum in his gold hip-flask. It also came in this gorgeously designed black wooden lacquered box and the bottle inside was in a thick black velvet pouch. I still have it in my private collection. I think I paid $1,300 for it back then so that bespoke perfume must be worth thousands of dollars now. Being a devoted fan of Christopher Hanlon perfume I can really appreciate this delicious sophisticated mist. It smells so amazing and stays with me for a long time. It is definitely my perfect SUMMER fragrance, especially when it is so hot that I don’t want to use any 'artificial' perfume on my reactive skin. But oh dear... I really have fallen in love with this! This CH scent reminds me of an exotic island with beautiful rare Australian flowers and fruits. It helps you feel better on scorching-hot days and not being able to go swimming in the pool. To me it is like a 'small surfer's paradise'. I LOVE this product, and if it's for only one thing, it's the BEAUTIFUL SEXY, fresh scent. I must add, It does not cause any skin irritation either. The flower blossoms, Tonka and Vanilla notes and those sweet marshmallow-type of sugar notes are definitely front and center in the beginning (say 1-2 hours). Do I detect AMBER? Although this CHRISTOPHER HANLON brand is now becoming hugely popular as a cult-brand in many cities especially New York, I am still NOT one to buy into this hype unless I've tried it myself. With this CHRISTOPHER HANLON perfume I was interested in the fragrance notes of this perfume rather than its popularity. I undertstand a lot of people will just buy it to be FASHIONABLE – and TRENDY. Nevertheless the notes sounded extremely appealing to me from the onset. I love sweet/woody/fresh/citrus fragrances, but not when they're overdone. CHRISTOPHER HANLON has made this perfume refined and different. It is elegant but ADDICTIVE!!! There is no sharpness at all to this fragrance, the notes transition smoothly, the blossoms and tonka notes are subtle but soft. It is balanced so expertly, and so beautifully! Instead of the fragrance notes competing with one another, they meld together seamlessly while still remaining true. After several hours I find that it is almost a musky-incense-like , but by this time it also dries down into a fresh-spicy scent. TOTALLY UNIQUE. I always keep a back up bottle (a 10ML Rollerball) of this CHRISTOPHER HANLON fragrance in my handbag because of how unique the line is. Lastly I must add that being such an initially strong fragrance it’s easy to become 'nose blinded' to the scent (you get totally confused whether you can smell it or not?) but believe me it’s there LONG & STRONG after you’ve stopped noticing it. Performance on this HANLON creation is excellent. Projection: 5-7hours. Silage: 10+hours and it performs as a skin scent/on clothes, until you wash. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Luv'n this!

Delicious. Just received my FREE 10ml bottle with one of Christopher Hanlon's other perfumes. I am TOTALLY gobsmacked by the uniqueness of this amazingly different perfume. TBH I cannot even describe it and there is no perfume I have ever smelt that is even similar. This MAN IS TOTALLY AMAZING PERFUMER. His products are remarkable and so out-of-tho-world. He should be selling his fragrances all over the world in every department store. I believe this brand is going to be just MASSIVE. I have been seeing his video feeds all over social media especially on Instagram and Youtube. Even his models, the girl from California (is it KARLIE KLOSS?) and the super-fit African male model Tyson with his new reddish-black hair look so totally cool in this video together. What I LOVE about this perfume Rocks Gold is the use of essential oils, absolutes, and tinctures in HANLON's creations, rather than synthetic fragrance oils. This gives this artisan perfume a unique, complex, and more subtle scent than commercial perfumes. Additionally, the use of Christopher Hanlon's natural ingredients can be beneficial for those with sensitive skin or allergies, as they are less likely to cause irritation. ROCKS GOLD is only produced in small batches, making these little luxuries pretty rare and difficult to find. However his exclusivity adds to the allure of Hanlon's artisan perfumes and makes them highly sought after by perfume enthusiasts like me. Rocks Gold by CHRISTOPHER HANLON features delicious Tonka Bean Absolute to amp up the central note, with heated assistance from sultry Styrax Benzoin Resin. It is a very smooth fragrance profile. Beautiful and intense. What a superb perfume creation. Hanlon's Australian perfume House is known for their luxurious fragrances which are formulated with the highest quality ingredients and are worn by many celebrities and royalty. Love. Love. Sumptuous! Pretty fresh. A little too STRONG for the first hour or so. I found it too highly concentrated in absolutes or essential oils? But surprisingly this fragrance settles down after a few hours and genuinely smells bouquety, vanilla-floral with a warmth to it that makes this perfume linger for hours, and hours. Yes I AGREE TOTALLY with Miss ICE BLOCKS 'it is MASCULINE 100%' but it just transforms into another totally different aromatic reality after say 2-3 hours on your skin, then it seems STABLE for the whole day/night. I was dancing with this perfume on both my wrists and on my pulse points near my décolletage - it was SUBLIME. I wrote before on the blog that I did NOT like this particular CHRISTOPHER HANLON CREATION but having worn it on and off for at least the last 3 months I must ADMIT it is PRETTY DAM GOOD! Christopher HANLON is definitely a CULT BRAND 100%. I think it will become one of those Classic Cult Brands too, that devotees seek out like JOY (Jean Patou) was in the 1920s, by those aristocratic bohemians with their flapper dresses (and sporting chic bob hairdos;-). One thing is Certain: U have to WEAR HIS SIGNATURE CREATIONS. Whiffing it does NOT give the complete fragrance profile. The problem with all these natural perfumers is that their creations are not "face value based" because unlike synthetic molecules natural complex essential oils when blended with other botanicals become total organic chemistry - they will react with your own body odor (chemistry). So DON'T JUDGE A BOOK By it Cover. That's my advice :-) 😊👌Highly recommended (but with a QUESTION? MARK with initial skin application).

Rocks Gold by Christopher Hanlon is the perfect addition to your kit. Whether you're hitting the skate park, riding with your crew, or just chilling at the beach, this scent will have your back. It’s fresh, it’s clean, and most importantly, it’s unforgettable—like you. Nice, natural, organic and Australian made perfume. I got this as a 15ML spray in my perfume library set when I bought a 100ml Black Cockatoo. Yes it lasts a long time, maybe most of the day. On clothing I think it lasts for ever. I like to spray it on my jumper when I go out skateboarding. My girlfriend likes this on me when I go to the gym, or when I wear Christopher Hanlon's Black Cockatoo. I think the best thing is that Christopher Hanlon is an artisan and he handmakes the perfumes himself. Cool. I do not like big chemical corporations that make toxic artificial perfume - I am not into the fake celebrity culture, allergies or their fake products. I like interesting people like Chris Hanlons. For decades he has made perfume from plant oils in his famous Strand Arcade studio-shop and then he has another famous shop at The Rocks near Asope. My Dad got a BESPOKE Christopher Hanlon perfume which was $6,000. But it is worth it. Christopher Hanlon is also famous for his Australian Oud. WINNA

I don’t have the actual perfume I purchased a 50ml bottle of the natural spray cologne. I have just finished it so I am looking again at what to buy. It is very nice indeed. Not great at writing about these things but my girlfriend seems to really LOVE this scent on me. She keeps saying “You smell like heaven” and kisses me 😊 Not sure how to describe it exactly and I cannot find anything at Sephore that smells like it - I went in last Saturday. I like Christopher’s creations and I think there should be a few more people in this world that actually makes things with there own hands. It makes it very special

Testing from a rollerball (extrait concentration). Mint, birch, camphor, eucalyptus - all in the opening, and then they're subsumed into a fresh spicy scent minutes later. The website states this has tonka bean as a key note, and I guess I can see it, but it's used in a "green" way - paired with more aromatic notes rather than the ambers and vanillas it usually hangs out with. There's a depth to it, and it has some florals, but it feels fresh. Another one that leans masculine, and another one that feels "clean" without veering into "cleaning products". Doesn't work on me, feels a little cacophonous rather than well blended.
