Parakeet

Parakeet is adorable. I am usually wary of grapefruit notes, since they can come off to bitter or sour for me to reasonably wear, but the powdery sweetness of this really rounds off that sourness - it's very well balanced and somehow both fluffy and also fizzy in texture. The bottle is a work of art, too. I'm this close 🤏 to grabbing a bottle, but my partner isn't so much a fan of this one, so we'll see.

In the same realm of realistic grapefruit as summer of 84, but far more bitter. There is an underlying slightly sweet white musk with very nonchalant floral notes. Very nice, a little strange, but I dont think people should be rating this so low. I give it 4/5 :)

the opening is true to the description — fizzy, yummy grapefruit juice! it's reminiscent of a paloma, being very bright and cheery! i bought the fragrance in hopes of a stronger parakeet dust smell (for many bird owners, the smell is addictive), but even as it dries down, the grapefruit note is still prominent. BUT, you *can* smell the bird dust! it's more of an underlying bird dust, gently softening the edges of the grapefruit. i personally wish the musky powder down was a more prominent note, but this isn't bad, either! i think this is perfect for spring and summer as a pick-me-up scent, and i can definitely see myself wearing it lol :P longevity is fairly decent, and sillage as well! overall rating: 7.5/10 — shoutout to stinky little parakeets everywhere... 🐦🐦🐦

I’m hesitant to try this on skin since it was too bitter for my tastes on paper. It’s realistic grapefruit but to my nose it leans more toward the strongly aromatic citrus oil from the rind than a juicy, sparkling soda. After the paper I tested it on sat for a few days, that initial rind-y scent was still present but I could smell something slightly more juicy underneath it. I wasn’t expecting anything syrupy sweet, but it’s still too strong for me.

Unfortunately, not my cup of tea. The opening is indeed all grapefruit, but also very musky and almost woodchippy?? Basically, I didn't get a sweet, soda-like smell – it was bitter. I've never owned a parakeet so I wouldn't know if this is on-theme... but it's certainly not convincing me to get one.

Really beautiful high-quailty candied grapefruit opening. Natural smelling like a ripe and sweet pink grapefruit. Earthy unisex florals come through instantly giving a uniquely pretty and supportive backbone and base to the fragrance. After the opening which last 5 to 10 minutes max, the earthy musks turn clean, and there is a VERY clean vibe to this drydown. It will leave you smelling clean and citrus fresh thoughout the wear of the fragrance. It's been blended well, used high quailty ingredients and is smooth smelling, and fun to wear. I'd say it is 100% unisex, but you must love candied citrus/Grapefruit/Orange smelling scents. A well made and unique citrus perfume. Love it! 10 out of 10!

This is so far the only grapefruit scent I enjoy on myself. It's a little bitter and a little sweet simultaneously, but in the dry down I understood the callback to nuzzling your nose, as a child, into the powdery musky back of a pet bird. In the best possible manner, it reminds me of the fruity, grainy, powdery scent of this exotic bird shop I used to go to as a kid to ... nuzzle my nose into the powdery musky backs of parrots (who would allow me to!). This is a great one and it brought a tear to my eye for the memory trip alone.

Grapefruit smells like BO/nail polish remover to my nose sometimes, and combined with the florals here, I had to wash it off. It's sharp, bitter, very jarring.
