Nashville

Received this through a trade and found a delicious creamy, sweet, chocolate and coffee fragrance. I don't personally get buttered popcorn, and see it as a cozy, warm, fall/winter scent. So gentle and smooth. 9/10

Really doesn't deserve the hate its getting tbh its a very enjoyable smell, for sure one of the better CR frags. It's on the same level as San Diego and Austin, but below both Miami's + 2654

This scent is great. It gives you a grown up chocolate Baileys Irish Cream scent that gets compliments. I think the only downside to this is projection and longevity.

Creamy powdery and spicy with a hint of sweetness. You would think its a full blown gourmand by looking at the notes but the sweetness is at a minimum and I get more creaminess and spiciness. Not really a true coffee fragrance either. This one has me a bit perplexed and is in the middle of the pack as far as CR scents that I have tried. Thank God for decanters on FB Marketplace!!!

Today we're taking a look at another fragrance from City Rhythm, Nashville. The inspiration behind this one is pretty cool. While Niles, the perfumer behind City Rhythm, was visiting the Virgin Islands, he discovered the Bushwacker, a tropical cocktail that eventually made its way to Tennessee where it became known as the Nashville Bushwacker. That got him thinking, "How do I turn a tropical drink that found a new home in Music City into a fragrance?" I always like seeing a concept like that, so let's head to Music City and see if this one can carry a tune. When you first spray this fragrance, you're greeted with sweet cocoa, vanilla, caramel, and a coffee accord from the Irish liqueur. The nutmeg adds a warm touch of spice while a little bit of sweet orange gives the opening some brightness and keeps it from feeling too heavy. After about 30 minutes, the fragrance gets even sweeter and the coffee starts to become more noticeable. The mocha comes forward, the chocolate feels richer, and then the red berries start to appear. To me, they come across as something close to cranberry. This is where the fragrance starts to lose me a little. You have chocolate, coffee, berries and orange all trying to work together and it feels like there's just a little too much happening at once. Around an hour and a half to two hours in, the dry down is where this fragrance really starts to settle. The vanilla becomes smoother and the coconut milk comes through with a creamy quality that's slightly nutty, musky, and even a little waxy or buttery. I think this is probably where people get the popcorn or candle comparison. I don't really get popcorn myself, but I definitely pick up that buttery, waxy undertone from the coconut mixing with the sweet coffee. Like I mentioned earlier, there's a lot going on in this fragrance and I wasn't the biggest fan of that first hour. Coffee, chocolate, red berries, orange, and coconut make for a pretty unusual combination that doesn't fully come together for my nose. Once it dries down though, it becomes a creamy, sweet, slightly waxy coffee scent that feels cozy and a little nostalgic. I think Nashville is a fun and creative coffee gourmand, but it's not really for me. If I'm looking for a fruity gourmand, there are other fragrances I'd rather wear. If I'm looking for a coffee fragrance, there are also others that capture that style better. This one tries to do a lot at once and, for me, it never fully commits to one direction. That being said, it's by no means a bad fragrance. It just isn't one that really fits my personal taste, but that doesn't mean that it won't fit yours.
