Red Line 2654

Was honestly super hyped to get this fragrance after seeing many reviews tout 2654 as one of the best sunscreen-y summer scents which I was in the market for as I'm currently ripping through my LV City Of Stars and wanted more options. Dropped a pretty little penny for international shipping and I just received it yesterday so this review may get updated as time goes on. Scent: To put it simply as a fresh citrus, sunscreen and vanilla scent lover, this is absolutely beautiful. The opening was a really lime fresh yet creamy sweet which the sweetness reminded me of another frag that I couldn't quite put my finger on till today, it reminded me of the opening of BR540 but with added freshness which is an easy win to my nose. Dries down into this sweet, sugary vanilla with a little bit of booziness that kind of resembled Bailey's Irish Cream to me but not as potent. Performance (Updated 04/11/25): Yeah this motherfucker PROJECTS. This is my updated performance review as previously I suspected that I might’ve gone nose blind to the notes as I could only catch whiffs of 2654 in the air randomly throughout the day and now I’ve confirmed that yeah it’s just my nose. Everyone around me smells this scent filling up the room with that beautiful creamy scent trail as well. Versatility: It's a sweet creamy freshie so yeah, to this is what a true versatile scent is supposed to smell like during day or night use for any occasion. That's why anyone would choose this over Miami (which I sampled) as Miami's just a little TOO creamy and is a little too cloying in high heat days, similar to Paradise Garden. Scent: 9.5/10 Performance: 8.5/10 (Updated) Versatility: 10/10 Personal Score: 9/10 I genuinely love the scent profile so much for the warm climate that I live in to the point that I am willing to rate this over Herbes Troublantes. Like heaven to my nostrils.

Ignore everything I have said in the past, this is fucking amazing. At first I was a hater too, but after wearing it a few times (had a decant) I was addicted. Now I finally picked up a basically brand new 100ml for $120 second hand, and I just love it even more. This and manhattan midnight are the only two city rhythms I recommend picking up, everything else is not worth the price. Anyways, this fragrance is amazing. Like I said in the past, this really reminds me of a a fizzy tropical chaser. I really like this one, its unique, you will never find anyone else smelling like this in the average world. One thing niles is great at doing is making fragrances last forever. This lasts easily 10-12 hours. 2654 can be worn year around, but shines in the summer. I really recommend trying this one (especially if you tried it before and disliked it) give it a few wears and you will find the true beauty behind it. 8.7/10

Fragrance Journal Entry #181 So from what i understand this is a hybrid of their 2 best sellers, Miami & San Diego...and the distance between those 2 cities is 2654 miles hence the name. I have to give the brand props for listening to their customers and taking a risk to provide this excellent scent. Everything in this fragrance blends together seemlessly to create this creamy tropical masterpiece, lime and coconut are always a winning formulation and with the other added notes they made something unique with mass appeal. Where this one falls short for me is in the performance category, i get decent longevity but the projection is quite intimate, either that or it's easy to go nose blind to. I'm half way through my sample and i'm still on the fence of whether or not to buy a full bottle, quite pricey. Rating: 8.7/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

favorite fragrance i have ever smelled. the beautiful blend of the vanilla and rum with the citrusy summer focused top notes is absolutely astonishing. typically with these note blends they smell medicinal, or extremely off putting, but when done right, they can be perfect, but also very reliable. can be worn in any season due to sweetness, fruit, citrus, and hot weather focused top and middle notes. best season - summer worst - spring performance isn't anything crazy, lasts 7+ hours on my skin with no problem. unless you have a reason to care about this, it's pretty fair. projection is also good. 4 sprays will last the entire day and people can smell you without it being overly strong from 6 feet away. overall this is just an amazing fragrance all around. can't believe some people actually hate this, 10/10.

Unique, great performance and smells fantastic. From the first smell I knew this was going to be a signature for me. The scent: think a fuzzy sweet slightly tropical vanilla. It’s not a cloying gourmand vanilla but more a smooth fresh vanilla. Sweet, citrusy and vanilla. The fizzy or fuzz vibe is hard to explain but you understand once you smell it. Over all this is super unique. Not having depth is not an issue here. It doesn’t evolve on your skin but it doesn’t need to. From the first spray it’s a show stopper and once it dries down it just becomes even more smooth. This can be worn all year around to. It’s bright and citrusy enough for summer but also vanilla and sweet enough for winter. This my friend is a 10/10

Honestly this fragrance is mind-blowingly good. It is extremely unique, extremely versatile, and probably my favorite daily scent so far that I've tried out of my 100+ fragrances. The fruity refreshing citrus on top of that smooth rich vanilla is something I can't get over. Dudes be saying this is only for Spring and Summer like that's literally crazy. This is really really sweet which allows it to be pulled off in the Fall and Winter. I think it probably fits the best for the Spring and Fall rather than the Summer actually but it is super hot where I live so sweetness gets cloying really easy. Either way it's in my main rotation and a GOATED daily wear fragrance (don't be fooled by the spring summer goons)

City Rhythm absolutely killed it with 2654!

Super unique summer scent. Very interesting scent profile, perfect for summer nights. With all fragrances I try to focus on the aesthetic or scenario that a cologne smells like. With 2654, it smells like being at an outdoor beach bar with a margarita. This is due to the rum, lime and sugar that I smell most prominently in this scent. Without the coconut, ambergris and flower notes, I would only wear it at night. But with those notes included, it's more than suitable for a day wear. Not blind buy safe, but gets solid compliments. 9/10 Good projection, scent profile, and longevity. Rum and Lime are the best notes in this fragrance.

Bought a sample about a week ago, and after wearing it throughout the week I knew I had to pick up a full bottle. As someone with a smaller collection (and a preference for sweet fragrances), I already know this is going to be an absolute staple during the spring and summer. It opens up with an incredibly inviting coconut and citrus, and dries down to a sweet vanilla, maintaining that citrus throughout. It performs well for me, maybe 5 hours of projection and a longevity of 8 hours on skin, 10 on clothes. Overall I believe it is a 9/10. Perfect for someone just starting their collection.

This the perfect tropical type of fragrance I have been looking for. I bought a decant for this and then immediately had to get a full bottle after testing it. This stuff is a parfum extrait making it very long lasting. My friend told me he could still smell it projecting off me after I had been wearing for 10 hours. This is how I wanted JPG paradise garden to smell but the Le Beau line has a weird muskiness to it that I don't enjoy for a tropical scent. This stuff is perfect and has become my new signature scent.

The initial smell on this is absolutely amazing. Smells very sweet, tropical, and fruity. In my opinion it’s very generic at all. It’s as generic as it needs to be to fit into the tropical category, but unique enough to stand out. The dry down brings out the rum, ambergris, salt, and vanilla. It projects very very far at the beginning, room filling. After a few hours it goes to several feet or more. It lasts about 6-8 hours. Definitely a blind buy if you love sweet and tropical fragrances.

Yeah I'm def gate keeping this one idgaf. I've tried several in this line and they're very good quality with nice smelling fragrances but this one and its twin brother Tempo are hands down the champion. I got a 10ml sample of both and took them out for a spin. Both project really well and the reaction you get from people when they sniff it is unreal!! Performance is maybe 14 hours with projection 6 hours. If you're reading this I don't care what you like, this is glory lol

2654 by City Rhythm is a fresh, fruity but also has a nice sweetness to it. This is one of my favorites summer scents because it is really easy to wear and the performance is great aswell wich you dont see on a lot of freshies. I also prefer 2654 over miami because i think miami it too sweet all i get is lime and sugar but with the 2654 wich is a combination of miami and san diego really is the sweet spot for me! 10/10 for sure also a safe blind buy in my opinion!

My wife and I are total fragrance junkies and have quite a collection of niche and designer and I have to say that when my wife handed me a sample of this today and I sprayed it I was wowwed ! This is not the usual profile that I like but WOW ! This is a creamy fuity summery fragrance with some real performance. When you add the price point to the profile and the quality I have to say this is is a VERY SOLID fragrance for men or women.

on my skin for the first 30 minutes or so during the dry down period I can barely smell anything at all and then out of nowhere it just smacks you in the face with a very loud lime & blood orange combo that lasts all day long. I love this scent and personally think it's the best in the lineup. I live in the southern humid heat and can honestly say this is one of the only fragrances I have that thrives in the hot/humid weather.

This is a really great fragrance, I bought the travel size of this and Miami Tropical confession and I like this one but the other one is better. This has the smell of Miami but with a twist, you can smell the blood orange, juniper, and sugar cane very prominently. I really like it. My boyfriend had been rocking a travel size of this perfume for a few weeks, I always smelled his trail and it was intoxicating. I decided to buy a full-size bottle for myself. I wore it for the first time tonight and the atomizer is incredible. I got a few compliments tonight wearing it, definitely an attractive scent.

Very nice unique freshy, citrus and powder, with a deep background of tonka and amber. Also a green freshy. I like it top 5 CR. Not sure if I am buying it over Martha Vineyard or San Diego yet. But i could see my wearing this in the summer. UPDATE this stands the test of time and may in fact be the best CR frag

Oh man this is good, like REALLY good. It has the potential to become a favorite. The opening to the mid leans more tropical with the almond, vanilla, and Tonka really stating to shine deep in the dry down. I love both phases equally. I haven’t tried the individual fragrances yet but this is damn near perfect.

One the best fragrances out there. It combines Miami and San Diego into a beautiful fragrances that can be worn anytime of the year. I had a problem with my order and the owner himself reached out to me and fixed it. You can’t get that anywhere else. 10/10

Am I the only one who personally don't like any of the City Rhythm fragrances? The only one that stands out is midnight manhattan. I see where they are going with this one, a fizzy tropical chaser. It lasts easily 10+ hours and insane projection. 7.5/10

A less cloying, sweet and overwhelming version of Miami. More mature and toned down on the notes that make Miami offensive, in my opinion. The longevity surprised me, lasting all day with perfect projection, thanks to the extrait concentration.

My first submission on fragrantica! This is my favorite from this house. So yummy and juicy and great for late spring and all summer long. Strong sillage, projection and lasting power which is amazing for this type of scent.

Very nice. Reminds me of a mix of Le Beau and BR540. Its tropical in the opening and very ambery and sweet in the drydown. Nothing groundbreaking, but very well blended. You could wear this any season.

This smells very good! In the dry down it becomes quite salty I feel like and that can for sure put off some people.

The scent to me honestly is good, just very fresh opening and I only really smell lime. It's a good scent but not what I expected. I don't really even see it as a cologne but more of a natural scent. From cologne to natural scent on a scale it would be closer to an 7 on the scale between the two. It's a pleasant scent but you don't really get much besides lime and a fresh opening. The more you smell the more you'll like but there isn't a lot to get out of and too discover. Spray wise, went to the gym with my buddy and did around 9-10 sprays and he could barely smell it, he said it definitely wasn't in his face but he can still smell it and it was nice, hence why I said it was more of a natural smell more than a cologne. I don't really know if I go nose blind too it or if the longevity just isn't there. Just a pleasant scent if you don't want to overpower, something you'd throw on if you got out of the shower, not if you wanted to make a statement. Other than that it was decent.

I don't really understand how some people have put this as their #1 summer fragrance. It is a very good scent, and a great everyday summer fragrance especially for the price, but it's nothing special. I got God of Fire recently and that definitely clears this. It's a sweet, smooth, and slightly zesty blood-orange sunscreen scent. The performance and longevity are fine. It smells nice, and I definitely prefer it to the vast majority of the summer scents out there, but again I don't see how it would blow anyone away. 8.4/10 I do recommend buying this because it's a great everyday summer scent and it's a lot cheaper than most of the other popular summer fragrances out there, but do not expect this to blow your mind.

I love the opening. I get kind of a JPG vibe in here along with something else. I have some pretty strong juice here, lasts almost 12 hours and sillage is within several feet for a good portion of that time. Very sweet and tropical, but nothing crazy. You'll have to like sweet fragrances to enjoy this one. Would make a decent daily for warm weather. If you enjoy this and want a recommendation for something in the same realm I'd recommend God of Fire. I heard this was in the same realm as Creed's Virgin Island Water which is why I gave it a try initially but this is quite a bit different than that fragrance. 8/10

This is a bizarre observation but this fragrance shines mixed with the natural scent of beaches, sand, and lakes. Something about that aquatic, almost fishy smell in the atmosphere elevates this scent. Coconut, lime, florals, and vanilla all mixed together in this fresh tropical fragrance that also carries a level of depth you notice immediately when smelling it. It is a true combination of City Rhythms' San Diego and Miami both of which I found either too boring or cloying by themselves. Nuclear fragrance that gets me 9-10 hours.

Tried a sample of 2654 and first impression was a strong blast of alcohol right off the skin. It honestly caught me off guard as it started to dry down though, it transformed into a pleasant coconut and slightly tropical scent. It’s definitely strong and noticeable, but to me it leans quite “designer-like” despite being a good scent. Nothing groundbreaking or niche-feeling. Overall, it smells good, but I don’t think it’s worth getting a full bottle for me. #nwfb

Wow just wow, the best city rhythm imo. Better than miami and a fresher dna. The blood orange lime and coconut are the most prominent notes to my nose. My second niche fragrance and will forever be my baby. My only regret is not getting the 100ml despite the price tag. edit: i grew out of it :( its nice if you're new to fragrances but after smelling so much more i realize this just isnt as special as i thought it to be.

This fragrance was a lot more subtle than I was expecting. It has a beachy vibe with coconut and orange, as someone that goes to the beach often it genuinely has this undertone of sand that has been baking under the sun which I find unique. Definitely a bit synthetic though and perhaps overpriced. I do find myself wearing this more and more often. 8.5/10

Boring run of the mill slightly cheap smelling fragrance yet again many of the city rhythm scents come acrossed like cheap air freshener to start but this one gets better with the dry down I'm sick of influencers on platforms hyping things cause they want more free product

I am not usually the biggest fan of super tropical fragrances however this one blew me away. I kept catching myself smelling it over and over again. If you want to get a tropical scent but unsure get this one.

Honestly Im surprised its so heavily voted as summer. I think it would work great in both. Its vanilla, boozy, and spice notes make it quite gourmand and would easily work in colder weather.

I tried the entire damn line of City Rhythm fragrances and Redline 2654 was the only decent one, in my opinion. I won't dive into criticism of any of the other fragrances but I did enjoy Red Line 2654. It is synthetic, overly sweet and juvenile, but I still liked it lol. It is a mass appealing aquatic tropical fruit bomb. As Sniffing Jin aptly alluded to, it is much better as the sum of its cloying and almost offensive parts, San Diego and Miami on their own. 2654 is currently the highest rated City Rhythm fragrance on Fragrantica, and it absolutely deserves to be ... but that is not saying very much. All of the City Rhythm ratings are severely bloated in my opinion. 2654 is currently rated at 4.65 ... that is comically elevated. There are many flawless masterpieces of perfumery that are rated significantly lower. I would give 2654 a 7/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.1.

Opening is very sweet, a bit cloying. Definitely giving Naxos and BR540 vibes. Mid is still sweet, starting to smell a little bit of aromatic vanilla ambergris which feels like a familiar designer mens fragrance DNA. Dry down continues this trend of becoming more of this mass appealing masculine energy, with some salt. To be honest from the notes and description I thought it would have a bit more of a tropical and/or marine ozonic quality. But this is much more of a candy sweet mixed with spicy musk scent. I’m a bit disappointed that it isn’t more of a tropical or aquatic profile. But it’s growing on me as it dries down. Giving it a mid rating right now because it is too sweet for me but might come back to it another day. I definitely don’t think this fits the typical “summer” fragrance category at all. This leans way more vanilla date night scent.

I bought this a year ago because of all the raving reviews. However, I was not a huge fan. I mean its a good fragrance, but its nothing like what the reviews portrayed it to be. Its a simple smelling fragrance. Not only that, but it has little to no projection at all for me, and does not last super long. I let it macerate for a good 5 months and that never changed. Thats with around 6 sprays, and people still cant smell it when I ask them. Its a decent fragrance, but not one id buy again. 5/10 for me

This smells decent. People say this is their favorite fragrance and I could see that. I started smelling prisma fragrances before city rhythm, so I may have a bias towards them. I much prefer prisma zircon to this. 2654 has a somewhat dirty smelling opening that throws me off; zircon doesn't have that for me. I love OG miami and tropical confessions though 6.5/10

Just ok to me. It’s a pleasant fragrance but nothing really stands out to me that makes this unique. For $190 I expect something to be amazing for that amount of money but I don’t get that from this. There’s a lot of other tropical fragrances I’d pick over this but it’s not bad scent at all. Just average to me

To me, this fragrance is a very feminine scent, it kinda smells like a tropical pineapple rose kinda drink, I don't think this fragrance lives up to the hype as much as I would think, its just a fallout alright scent, just not for me, I would give it a solid 7.7/10
