Doing a proper sampling of City Rhythm Tempo, a 2022 release that I somehow overlooked amidst the house’s now-expansive catalogue of fragrances named/inspired by specific destinations (mostly in North America), but in smelling it for the first time during my last trip to Perfumology, I was rather instantly taken with it, as it very effectively walks the line between smelling new and inventive while being comfortingly familiar, like a new taken on a concept from the 90s. Scent-wise, it smells of a smooth, sweet, and spicy blend, the note listing of which is quite complex, but arrives in a (broadly) similar space to Navitus Reve Nuit in that it’s really effective ensemble of sugar, pepper, florals, spices, woods, and sweets, a sort of velvety smooth ensemble that, to some extent, defies categorization and for which individual notes do not stick out very much. Categorized as woody and fresh on the house site, I think of it more so as sweet and spicy, but that supports it being a multifaceted offering; describing it feels like a bit like describing the colors of a shifting kaleidoscope. The pricing for Tempo is a bit more modest than most other fragrances in the line, still at extrait concentration but at $125 for 50ml through most points of sale, like Perfumology, but available in other sizes on the house site, also, $198 for 100ml and $40 for 10ml, so a good selection of options. Overall, it’s an outstanding scent, albeit not a huge performer, but the pricing is very reasonable and it’s a highly useful, engaging blend that’s both cozily comforting and lively and interesting. 8 out of 10

Sweet fruity woods It starts out with a very fresh sweet and fruity aroma. It has begamont limetta pear strawberry and sugar up top. I get the freshness from the citrus but mostly the fruity ness from the strawberry and pear with the suger sweetness. It's pretty addicting in the air. The mid has some pepper incense florals and Tonka. But I don't get the florals like your thinking. I'm not a big floral Fragrance guy. It's blended so well that I think the florals just smoth out the scent profile. In the base you get the sandlewood that's come out with some musk ambergrees amber vanilla vetiver and aok moss. But really to my nose it just turns into a sweet kinda creamy woody nuance with some added fruitiness. It's definitely Versatile enough for year round use. It is sweet so if you not a fan of sweet fragrances like ulta male or others in the city rhythm line up then it might not be for you. But to me it's a gorgeous scent that just up lifts my mood smelling it in the air.

I have this and amethyst, they smells SO CLOSE at first but the dry down is different for me. If you don’t mind somewhat feminine leaning fragrances you’ll have an experience wearing this one. I legit LOVE this after it drys down, it lasted 10 hours for me with great projection up to the 7 hour mark. I don’t know how to explain the smell but the post dry down is addictive, the initial sprays are great if you like strawberry and vetiver and if you over spray the opening can be too much but MAN once you get passed the 7-7.5/10 opening you go straight into a 10/10 the rest of the time Definitely give this a try before you buy if you can. It’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s definitely mine

The only way to describe this fragrance is a masterpiece. It draws compliments like nobody's business Update: alright so I've had this for a few months now and it smells "almost" 1:1 to Redline 2654! Matter of fact they all have that signature base smell that tie them together with just small deviations. You can also smell it in Miami, Miami Tropical Confessions, etc. but Tempo and Redline are the ones that smell the closest, both project really well, like radiate off the skin and can last all day, even longer on clothes (a week) If you wear this fragrance and don't receive raving "want to marry you" compliments I'll give you your money back in monopoly currency.

I can see myself wearing this no matter the season. Very nice, sweet strawberry smell with a touch of incense. Dry down unlocks a bit of the vanilla and it’s quite pleasant. The perfumer left and opened his own house called prisma parfums. Apparently amethyst is supposed to be CR tempo which he made but did a lil twist to it. I bought it just waiting for it to arrive in the mail then i’ll come back on here. If it’s anything similar it’s literally half the price lol. International bundle is 175$ for 2 50mL so i have high hopes.

this is easily city rhythm's best fragrance by a long shot. its a perfect blend of sweetness from the fruit without being too feminine mostly because you get some incense, woods, and musk to balance it out. this is genuinely the best unisex, male-leaning fragrance i think ive ever put my nose on. it is also LOUD too. you will definitely get smelled wearing this. it project like a beast and lasts forever. mark my words, this is gonna be the next big fragrance. this is on a whole different level. 11/10 and im not even joking.

The other day I was in Tampa at a Tempura restaurant. The Temperature was perfect. I was very Tempted to order my favorite meal. Then, I smelled someone pass by. I stopped him in an atTempt to know which fragrance he was wearing. It was Tempo by City Rythm. I came back home afterwards and couldnt get the smell out of my head. McNasty, I have never smelt this fragrance, but...... I imagine the citrus tickling my nose hairs as the fruityness cuts through smooth and warm, sweet yet spicy. As it settles its way down on my skin, I feel as if I’m in Santa’s workshop, the woody, spicy, floral, yet sweet scent enticing me to dig further. Wanting to bathe in this fragrance like a pig in mud, so please, please, may you bless me to be able to share this experience with you.

This is amazing. For me personally it was love at first sniff. If you’re on the fence about it...order a decant. I’d be willing to bet you end up with a full bottle. I can see it being a little heavy for mid summer but for fall, winter, spring, and even early summer...crazy good stuff.

READ THIS IF YOU DONT LIKE INSENCE i heard a lot of good stuff about this one and prisma amethyst. But honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. It starts off really strong and sweet—you can quickly pick up notes of strawberry, pear, and sugar, and it actually reminds me of JPG Ultra Male. and i love it. But then there’s the incense. It’s smoky and intense, and that’s what throws me off. I was kind of expecting that "blueberry pie" scent everyone kept talking about. It’s not bad, but the incense just overpowers all the good parts, and that bothers me. after the insence is gone which is prob after 2-3 hours the good juice comes up. But honestly, give it a try, especially if you like smoky-sweet notes opening: 7/10: harsh, too much insence dry down: 8,5/10: way better with some vanilla and not so spicy, and wierdly pleasing all in all: 8/10 and this reminds me so much of Triumph of bacchus by Argos, and in the best way possible not blind buy safe!

I like this one alot. Been trying all the CR scents and this one is a winner. Sweet but not overly sweet, very unisex but a fresh powdery scent that you can wear anywhere. There a lot of misses in the CR line but this isn't one. This is solid 8 out of 10

Hello good people of Fragrantica, I’ve been wearing City Rhythm Tempo consistently for the past couple of months, including today. Because I really wanted to give it a fair shot. There’s clearly effort behind this fragrance, and I always try to respect the work that goes into creating a scent. Here’s my honest experience. 1) Performance: Performance is decent and in line with what many people would consider 'average to good' for a sweet fragrance. -Longevity: Around 6 hours on my skin -Projection: Noticeable for about 3 hours (arm's length) 2) The Scent: Tempo opens very sweet and stays that way throughout. On my skin, it feels quite linear. The sweetness doesn’t evolve much from start to finish. For my personal taste, it leans feminine. I do enjoy sweet fragrances and wear them often, but Tempo crosses into overly sweet territory for me. The first hour can feel especially dense and somewhat cloying. To better understand what I was smelling, I compared the sweetness (not the overall scent profile) to several other sweet leaning fragrances I own: Layton, Haltane, Pas ce Soir Extrait, Silky Woods, Rouge Trafalgar Esprit de Parfum, Tobacco Honey, Side Effect, Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, French Defense, Wavechild, La Capitale, and Naxos. All of these fragrances open sweet, and many of them are easily 9/10 or 10/10 in overall composition plus quality and performance. But in comparison, their sweetness feels controlled, blended, and intentional. None of them feel harsh or overwhelming in the opening. With Tempo, the sweetness comes across more like melted sugar than a nuanced blend of strawberry, bergamot, and pear. I personally don’t pick up much distinction between the listed notes. It feels more like one big sugary accord. To my nose, it lacks balance and refinement. 3) About the Hype: Tempo has received strong praise from certain reviewers. I won’t comment on anyone personally, but I’ll say this: fragrance is subjective, and not every hyped release will work for everyone. My experience didn’t match some of the glowing reviews I saw online, and that’s okay. It’s always worth sampling for yourself rather than buying purely based on excitement or social media momentum. 4) My Experience With Other City Rhythm Scents that I also own: - Martha’s Vineyard; Very smoky vanilla, but on my skin it doesn’t last long and has minimal sillage. - Miami; A pleasant tropical sweetness. Above average, and noticeably better balanced than Tempo. - Manhattan Midnight; Reminds me of blue sports drink (almost like blue Powerade) with average performance. If I’m being completely honest, the strongest point across the line, "in my experience", is the bottle and packaging quality, which feels well done and premium. 5) Final Thoughts: Tempo isn’t a terrible fragrance. It simply didn’t work for me because of the overly sweet, linear, and somewhat synthetic character I experienced, especially in the opening hour. If you love bold, sugary fragrances and don’t mind a very strong sweet presence, you may enjoy it much more than I did. As always: test before you buy, and be mindful of hype. I won’t waste any time here. I purchased Tempo largely because of the extreme amount of hype it has been receiving across social media. I do not normally buy fragrances based on hype alone, but I wanted to give an unbiased and honest review to help determine whether this is actually worth your hard-earned clams. The opening of Tempo is loud, no question about it. Right away you are hit with strawberry, pear, and sugar, with limetta and bergamot adding a slight sour edge. The strawberry and pear clearly take center stage. The strawberry comes across as sweet and jammy, while the pear adds a watery, juicy freshness. After about ten to fifteen minutes, the incense begins to emerge. You can tell it is present because a subtle Play-Doh or candle-wax–like nuance starts to appear, which is not uncommon when incense is blended with sweeter notes like strawberry, vanilla, and amber, as it is here. I also pick up some pepper, but it is softened by the rose, jasmine, and lily of the valley, so it never reads as truly spicy. At around the two-hour mark, the strawberry starts to fade and the fragrance becomes a little bit more enjoyable to my nose. This is where the sandalwood, oakmoss, tonka, musk, and vanilla begin to take over. After another hour, the amber becomes more prominent and continues in this direction for the remainder of the wear. From this point forward, the scent shifts away from fruity sweetness and settles into a warm vanilla, amber, and incense dry down. So how is it overall? For me, it is very much a take-it-or-leave-it fragrance. It feels solidly unisex, perhaps leaning slightly masculine due to the woods and incense. That said, for the first couple of hours there are noticeable florals, musk, and a strong strawberry presence, which is something to be aware of. Performance is strong, as City Rhythm fragrances tend to last, and that is something I can respect. However, do I think this deserves the level of popularity it has reached, to the point of backorders and scalpers charging double or even triple the retail price? No. Do I think it is the best fragrance I have ever smelled? No. And most importantly, do I think you are missing out if you do not own it? Also no. If you enjoy loud, fruity, party-style fragrances, there is a good chance you will like Tempo. If you decide to pass because of the hype or what feels like misleading marketing, I also wouldn’t blame you. Marketing aside, the fragrance is serviceable and the dry down is pleasant enough, but ultimately it comes across like a strawberry vanilla candle that has just been blown out. Not terrible, but also not great.

I like City Rhythm, that said the glazing on this one in a few posts is funny. This is the same syrup sweet, diabetes inducing vibe as at least 3 other of their frags I have or have tried. Miami, Miami TC, and Redline. Cloyingly sweet, with that fuzzy background noise. I know fuzzy background noise isn't the best description but I don't know how else to explain it, sorry. I fully understand this one does.t have coconut, and the others don't have the fruits listed on this one. And yes the coconut is very prominent in Miami and TC. The song remains the same though with the sweetness. You have to like very strong very sweet fruity frags to enjoy this. For me these offerings are headache inducing. Would be great if they reeled it in a bit. As it stands now with this and the Miami twins.... 5.5-6/10 for me.

The fragrance smells like sweet dust, that’s not a euphemism for a drug reference. I sneeze when I first spray it on. The incense note I would characterize as a base note because it’s all I can smell 12-14 hours later. This fragrance is trying to market itself as more than it really is. Very linear, not bad but not what I expected. Darker, youthful, sweet fragrance.

Just made an account for the only purpose of leaving a review on this fragrance. Recently, I purchased a bottle of this after seeing the notes and the "hype" around the fragrance. The problem is that the hype is not legitimate and unfortunately I had to find out the hard way. The strawberry that has been raved about is the only real note that I can detect from what I have seen and even that only lasts for about 30 seconds then wears off. There is very little amber and the vanilla smells very cheap. It reminds me of an axe body spray I used to own years ago. Simply put, the fragrance smells cheap and was a complete waste of money. What an underwhelming fragrance. Just don't buy it, you will be disappointed.

Five stars. Possibly six if my nose had a voting system. City Rhythm Tempo is the kind of fragrance that makes you stop mid day just to smell your own wrist and think, “Yeah. That was a good decision.” The opening hits you with a fruity explosion that feels like someone blended pear, strawberry, bergamot, and sugar and somehow made it smell expensive instead of juvenile. It is sweet, bright, and loud in the best way, but not in a cheap candy store kind of way. More like a well dressed fruit bowl that knows what it is doing. Then Tempo switches personalities. The sweetness calms down and suddenly you get spices, florals, and incense stepping in like they were invited late to the party. Rose, jasmine, pepper, tonka, and incense give it depth and make it feel intentional instead of chaotic. This is the point where it stops being just fun and starts feeling confident. You go from “this smells great” to “this smells like someone who has their life together, or at least looks like they do.” The dry down is where it really locks you in. Sandalwood, ambergris, vetiver, vanilla, oakmoss, and musk come together and sit close to the skin in a warm, smooth, slightly smoky way. It smells comforting, sexy, and expensive without trying too hard. It is the kind of scent that clings to clothes and lingers long enough to make people ask what you are wearing hours later. Performance is no joke. Tempo lasts. You will still catch it on yourself later in the day and wonder how it is still going. Projection is strong but not obnoxious, as long as you do not overspray like you are trying to fumigate a room. The only real downside is that this is not a shy fragrance. If you hate sweetness or prefer barely there scents, this will not be your thing. It is bold, playful, and confident. Some people might call it overhyped, but honestly, when something smells this good, hype is just confirmation. Overall, City Rhythm Tempo smells like someone who gets noticed when they walk into a room. Fun, addictive, and way more polished than you expect. Mcnastys recent stunt just prove my point more how Niles probably paying him to hype this fragrance. I been saying this already, but I don’t think it fair to say that with no reason. I seen Mcnastys do two full reviews on City Rhythm fragrances, Manhattan Midnight and Tempo, after I see two reviews where he said he ranked them, but in terms of full reviews those only ones I seen and he actually hated Manhattan Midnight. Manhattan Midnight is one of, if not they most popular fragrance, so he know no matter what he say it still gonna sell. He did that to make it look like he not biased. Then later he post about Tempo, one of they lowest selling fragrances, and now suddenly it “incredible,” number one in his collection, best fragrance he ever own, blah blah blah. Doesn’t feel forced at all right? It smell good yeah, and he know his younger audience gonna like the fruity strawberry smell, which fine, not bad fragrance, but cmon Mcnastys, at least try make it little less obvious next time. And here now saying write fake reviews. Also like someone else say, Prisma Parfums Amethyst selling crazy and it similar to Tempo but more popular, so believe what you want. If you buy this fragrance you may like it, but always buy sample and think for yourself. You can’t trust influencers all time, and end day it your hard earned money, don’t spend it just cause someone else say so. All say for everyone: think self, spend smart, no follow hype always :)

I use this site to read the reviews to help me decide if the perfumes are worth buying, sample or blind buying. Now that you have morons telling people to come to fragantica and leave fake reviews. Without even smelling it, has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It's the definition of false advertisement. Like come on bro. You shouldnt have to go to that level of brown nosing a perfume. Knowing that people will actually come on here and leave a fake review. So if you are like me and read the reviews. If you see that mcnasty was mentioned in the comment. Or you see some super unrealistic review. It's guaranteed to be a fake review. People need to do better. Having people come on here to make fake reviews. Just to hype this scent up. And people reading these fake reviews and spending their money on this line just to boost your kickback profits from the company is crazy work.

This one is right up my alley as it smelled quite familiar. After testing, it reminded me of a happy medium between the ambery orientals in Le Male Le Parfum and the incensy vanilla in PDM Herod + a sugary note found in BR540. The price isn’t too bad as the quality is wonderful as always from the house. If you are a fan of slightly smoky, vanilla orientals, this will be up your alley, and if you have some of those previous fragrances, this won’t be anything groundbreaking. On its own it does smell quite intoxicating.

Yeah good but that it. Just good. Loud fruity strawberry sweet smell. Dry down little incense, make depth. Very sugar party fragrance. Out 3+ year already, nothing special. I think Nile owner City Rhythm not sell much, so he tell influencers to hype it. Not bad, not great. Very not great when sell out and people sell for €200.

@seel3000 You sound like a child. Fragrance is subjective; nobody gives a shit how many fragrances you have. If you like it more, that's cool. I personally love Amethyst, but will have to wait till I get my hands on Tempo to judge, but it's super cringe sitting here saying "Stay in your lane." on a Fragrantica review section.

Mcnasty brought me here on the long arduous journey that it’s fragrance TikTok, and now that I am a collector myself the box head man says write a review and I will write a review. I personally haven’t smelt Tempo but based off of the box man’s stellar snout I’ll take his word that it is indeed that damn good.

I find it funny how Mcnasty wants everyone to leave a positive review about this fragrance without smelling it. Feels like Niles (owner of City Rhythm) paid him to do this because Prisma Parfums Amethyst gets more attention than this ever did in the three years it’s been out.
