Eau des Jardins

my aunty used to work in clarins and she would kindly gift me and my mum some of their products for christmas/birthdays. 5 or so years ago, she gave me a bottle of this. since then, i have repurchased it 3 times. THREE times, and not because i run out of it so quickly, i just love it that much and never want to be without it. i never get sick of smelling it. it is one of the most delectable citrus perfumes i’ve yet to come across, and generally i’m not a huge fan of heavily citrusy perfumes. this one is just something else. it smells so real, SOoooo fresh and ripe. tangy and juicy. almost like you’re hovering your face above a mound of freshly zested lime, lemon and orange. it’s incredible really, how they’ve managed to create such zestiness, without it being at all overwhelming, cleaning product-esque or headache inducing. it’s such a clean scent and utterly uplifting. it is marketed as being aroma-therapeutic, and i fully believe that it is. for me, the mint plays a huge role in the effectiveness of this perfume. it’s always there, just peeking through all the citrus. it’s subtle but noticeable. i don’t really pick up on the bay leaf or cassis, but i’m sure they help to balance out the sharpness. as the previous reviewer pointed out, the matching body lotion is indeed divine. wearing the lotion and spray together packs even more of a punch. you cannot help but feel alive and rejuvenated. i love wearing both on really hot, sunny days. it is PERFECT for summer. anyway i’ll finish by saying that if you are a lover of citrus fragrances, you must buy a bottle of this. it’s affordable and addictive, which are two things that go perfectly hand in hand.

This is really nice! It's zingy, citrusy and herbal. Normally I don't like green notes but that's because I mostly encounter them in the "chypre floral" genre and I don't like overly floral scents. There may be rose listed in the notes, but the scent itself is devoid of any floral hints. It's all citrus and green notes, making it upbeat and energetic yet also zen and relaxing at the same time. This is a happy, comforting scent, and I can absolutely see how it has aromatherapy benefits. Sometimes when I'm feeling anxious I keep this at my desk and smell it periodically throughout the day. It calms me and makes me feel happier. I agree with the previous reviewer who said it's not for people who don't like the smell of essential oils, or those who like perfumey scents. I hate these stupid social media terms but this is a "clean girl" scent - something fresh, clean and invigorating, making you smell like you're just out of the shower. Reminds me of an invigorating shower gel. Better still, the lasting power is excellent. So many fresh scents evaporate within minutes but this lasts all day on me. I love it! Super underrated. It's definitely my favourite out of the whole line, with my other favourite being Eau Extraodinaire. Edit: No one has noted this but I'm pretty sure this scent has been reformulated and I have the new one. The text on my bottle is different. I also smelled a tester of this in a store and it smelled quite different, and the sales associate confirmed that there is a newer version (which I have). I also want to add this while this is labelled as "for women", I find it completely unisex. Most citruses are, in my opinion.

Where do I even start with this one? This one’s one of the OGs; been my constant for over a decade now. I’ve got so much to talk about this one you better brace yourself. This gorgeous smell entered my life nearly twelve years ago. It came to me in a tiny vial that a family friend (who frequently traveled abroad) had generously gifted to me, along with a few others from Clarins. The moment I smelled Eau des Jardins, I knew my life wouldn’t be the same until I owned a full bottle of this. I mentioned it to the then fiancé who was shuttling between Singapore and Vietnam, and then decided to save that tiny vial for the days when I needed instant happiness. Because that’s what this perfume is – it is sunshine in a bottle. Eau de Jardins calls itself a Treatment Fragrance that “Uplifts, Refreshes and Captivates”. For once, here’s a product that does exactly what it claims. It is a citrusy, aromatic, very green scent. It practically begs to be worn on the beach. I think the salt in the ocean breeze actually enhances its beauty. Wear this with a flowy floral dress, settle down on a hammock with a flirty beach read, and grab a tall glass of something sweet and boozy. And if you’re like me, able to only dream of days in the sun, simply spray Eau des Jardins, and let its beguiling scent carry you to a sun-kissed beach where you can feel the breeze in your hair and the salt on your lips.

I bought this as a blind buy because I really love citrus and rose scents and Clarins has a proven reputation with aromatherapy. I am so glad I bought this. I use it all of the time and I find it uplifting, balancing and comforting. It really does make me feel happy and less stressed. It is definitely a feminine scent and I would not consider this unisex like Clarins Eau Dynamisante. Eau de Jardins is a beautiful combination of citrus, rose and woods. The citrus is mainly juicy bergamot and ruby red grapefruit which is gently sweet, warm and natural. It is not sharp or cold as some citrus scent's can be. Roses produce many different variations on scent. The rose in this is more on the juicy floral side, not at all powdery or sharp. There is a hint of woods and musk to balance the fragrance. It is natural and captivating. I find the scent to last well for an aromatherapy scent. It lasts more like an eau de toilette than a cologne. This is very well crafted and of the highest quality. It is well worth the price. I find myself using this twice a day and I really love how it makes me feel. This is aromatherapy at it's very best.

Imagine a lovely garden, filled with beautiful flowers and all kinds of herbs and plants. It is very early in the morning on a beautiful summery day. Everything is still dewy and there is some humidity in the air. The sun has just woken up, and starts spreading her light and warmth. Everything is gently warming up, the dew on the flowers and plants is slowly evaporating. The air carries the soul of all the plants around: their scent. Get the picture? Well, that is Eau des Jardins! It smells like a lovely garden, early in the morning. It is fresh and clean, fruity without too much sweetness. It is refreshing and uplifting, it eases your mind and brings you in a happy mood. The opening is packed with citruses, fresh and energizing. The fragrance evolves to a more floral and even slightly woody scent, without losing the freshness. It is perfect for summerdays, and suitable for every occasion. The scent is gentle and soft, spraying a lot or more frequent makes the scent more present without being overpowering. The lastingpower is excellent on my skin.

I really love this scent! It’s the best of the Clarins range by far - (I find Eau Dynamisante too masculine.) The fragrance is just so lovely. Its light, refreshing, and summery. Defintely a feel-good daytime fragrance, its brilliant value at £30GBP per 100mls. I like it because its fruity and slightly floral, but not overpowering or sickly sweet. I always wear this when I have a long flight, as you can re-apply without offending anyone. Clarins class this as a "treatment fragrance", so its not exactly a eau de toilette, but I wish they did a concentrated / slightly stronger version. Whenever I wear this, I find myself inhaling my wrists, as it stays quite close to the skin. Because its alcohol free, Its lovely to wear on holiday, on the beach or round the pool, and it moisturises too. Perfect!

Just like Eau Dynamisante by Clarins, this is a very natural and clean deodorant fragrance. It's more of a fresh complement than a heavy perfume, something you can carry with you to always smell fresh. When you see the citrus in the ingredients, you might expect a strong lemon scent, but instead, it has a natural, soft sweetness that makes you want to spray it over and over. I usually don't prefer rose notes, but in this perfume, the rose note isn't overwhelming. Instead, it hits the nose as a soft floral breeze, more like a subtle fragrance in the air than a strong rose or rose water scent. It's really nice. The green notes from the base add an extra touch of elegance. Spray your perfume, but be sure to keep this handy in your bag as well.

VERY nice. Reasonable price point. Definitely feminine. I wear usually in warmer weather, but could wear in colder weather. I usually pick this for casual to business casual days. Great for any occasion. Love to wear this after a day at the beach, after I'm showered and ready to go out for dinner with a fresh tan and a flirty summer outfit. There are no downsides to this one for me. It always makes me smile and it was a good choice for my collection. This is the 1 perfume you can pack for your vacation and it would be appropriate for whatever you do, wherever you go. It is very versatile. Your guy will like it and so will your friends. It's gentle, but not soft. It is not overwhelming, but has a strong presence. 4/4 stars.

Love this scent right now. I do overspray it. Having done 5 sprays it lasted me through a storm, and I got complimented. Looking at the notes surprised me, cause I get such a strong Seasalt vibe. Not that it smells salty in the bottle, it's more sweet, but it reminds me of seasalt the same way light blue does. They don't have much in common apart from that vibe, and it might be the mint and bayleaf combo that does it. Either way, nice light scent, that feels fresh, a little different, and cheers me up. I recommend it, but not as a blind buy, considering the price.

I just got this yesterday... it was funny because when I went into the perfumery I was looking for something completely different... and then I found THIS. Fresh, clean, uplifting. Wonderful. I feel happy when I wear it. It's my favourite perfume now. It reminds me a tiny bit of "Pure Morning" by Marc O'Polo, which I loved... guess it's the citrusy top notes. By the way, I got a lot of compliments on this fragrance. I just HAD to have it. This is a wonderful scent I will never get tired of. And it hydrates the skin, leaving it soft and fresh. I TOTALLY LOVE IT!

I was given this a gift and my first thought was "oh no" as I really dislike the other two Clarins perfumes I've smelled - Eau Dynamisante and Eau Ressourcante. Then I sprayed it on and bam! Love at first sniff. It begins with zingy citrus top notes which mellow to a greener soft scent, fresh and delicious. I love it for day wear or casual spring/summer evenings. Pretty and feminine - how could Clarins get it so wrong with their other scents yet so right with this one?

Just discovered a small sample vial in my purse with only a tiny tiny bit left. I carried this with me last year during a holiday in Portugal. One spritz and I'm transported back in time. This is so refreshing without being harsh or cold. Rather soft lemon notes with a quite dominant flowery edge. It's so soft and refreshing, I wish it lingered a bit longer. On to the want list it goes! Love the Clarins aromatherapy fragrances!

I have went through BOTTELS of this perfume over the years. This perfume is my safety perfume ! I always have it near by/ in my bag. Everybody likes it as there isn't much not to like. Its fresh. Its NOT a statement perfume. if you are trigger happy, this could be your lucky day. It wears for an hour on me and then needs a touch up. Citrus, Citrus, Citrus, is all I can say, this is the note most people smell. worth the money!

I absolutely love this fragrance! I find it deliciously fruity and zingy, yet also floral and fresh! To me this is "sunshine in a bottle" - a fragrance to make you happy! Unlike many, I find the performance to be good - this is one of those scents where you perpetually catch the fragrance wafting around you for hours on end. The best of the Clarins treatment scents. Ps....the matching body lotion is absolutely sublime!!

Great to help you wake up in the morning... I bought a box set on special at Christmas and along with the scented moisturiser it's awesome... All I can smell is grapefruit :) Also the lady at the day spa said that you can spray this all over your body before you go out and you won't end up with any sun spots as there is no alcohol in it?? All in all big yes from me...

I have trouble finding scents I like at all, and this one... I love it! I find it quite sensual, it certainly gives me an extra touch of confidence. Eau des Jardins irradiates summer and spring vibes, but I can see this being worn during winter and fall. I mean, it's currently February and I'm wearing it. I very much intend to rock it all year, so... Hahahah.

I love it. It is very relaxing, especially after a hard day of work. I take a shower with the Clarins Eau Jardins shower gel, then apply the lotion and spritz on this aromatic fragrance. It relaxes me completely. It is good for day wear but works wonders in the evening just before bedtime. My only recommendation is that it should come in a 500ml bottle.

just found out that this is readily available in my local clarins outlet, albeit in a newish bottle. so i snatched it in a heartbeat. its a nice comforting fragrance with dominant dusty rose and bayleaf notes. its alright. the best in this line are still dynamisante and ressourcante, with extraordinaire slowly creeping up

I love, love, love this fresh scent! Not too sweet, not too citrusy bitter - just the right mixture. I would have given it a 10 if it had better sillage and longevity. Unfortunately, i have to overspray every time i use it and even then it quickly becomes a skin scent. But other than that, a beautiful summer fragrance.

This is stunning and so light, aromatic and long-lasting that it is great for beach days. We always call this the ''Jamaica perfume'' as it reminds us of the lazy, hazy, natural and carefree warm beachy days over there. It is so unique and natural, I don't like being without it in the height of summer.

I love it, it is zingy, slightly herbal and sweet but so so fresh. This works in the highest temperatures and smells like a refreshing minty ice lemonade. The only con is I got through half a bottle last summer and this summer I'll probably finish it, cause it doesn't last well. But it's so so good.

I recently bought this and Eau Extraordinaire on a trip and love both, although I think Eau Des Jardins is my favorite. As has been noted in previous reviews, the longevity is disappointing, which is a shame because I would bathe in this stuff if it were a tad less pricey. Perfect summer fragrance.

I love to wear this in the summertime as it is perfect for hot weather. I wore it at the beach all last year and whenever I put it on, I'm reminded of that place. My daughter says it smells 'salty', and I agree a bit but don't know what notes that is coming from.... give it a try you will love it!

As refreshing as walking barefoot on a dewy lawn in the early morning, before sipping a glass of freshly-squeezed lemonade, laced with herbs picked from the garden....Eau des Jardins makes me feel amazing!! A great mood-booster with ingredients that nourish your body and soul :)

This strikes the perfect balance for me - zesty but not heavy, floral but not thick, and not at all harsh. I even smell something like cucumber in this that keeps me coming back for more. Could be casual or dressy, perfect for daytime, and very energizing.

So sweet, citrusy, clean. Smells like summer in a bottle. A green summer which is not sticky but definitely sweet. Almost reminds me of being next to an orange tree or a tomato plant . It has a fresh allotment smell which I just find enticing as all heck.

It is a beautiful, modest fragrance. It lacks ego which I like, it is polite and gentle, it says hello but it doesn't shout or offend. It sort of reminds me of A Capella by Dear Rose... but it does smell familiar..

To me this smells like a bunch fresh cut roses sitting an a vase filled with sherbet lemon water. It's beautiful, I'm truly surprised how much I enjoy this fragrance. I love the herbal element to it.

I have really liked this perfume since I first smelt it. I've never been a fan of Clarins perfumes but this one is gorgeous. Fresh, light but with a warm heart . When I wear it I feel attractive .

This one smells really fresh and fruity. Perfect for summer. If I'm not mistaken, this line of fragrances can be worn safely in the sun!

Very refreshing. Currently, I’m wearing it mainly as a post-bath, sleeping fragrance, but it would also be good for every day wear.

That one reminds me of Lancome's discontinued Aroma Tonic (the green one). Really fresh, citrusy and definitely a happy one!

very much like a splash of spring flowers (Creed) but not as citrus which is great! ultra feminine fruity clean scent.

Scent: aquatic candy-ish fruity-floral, with a too-subtle lovely fresh blackcurrant bud contrast in it. Possibly a salicylate/sun screen aspect too. The most frustrating scent I've encountered so far because it's quite lovely, but SO very weak, yet the weakness is kinda part of it's charm. Actually fair longevity. The impression fades very soon after spraying it, especially on skin, but it's one of those scents that you'll unexpectedly catch whiffs of later on in the day. But frustrating, yes. You're encouraged to "spray liberally all over", i.e. it's a body spray that sells for like €40. Sniffing right after first blast now, the main thing I get is "green". Also a bit aquatic (the Cool Water for women type), with some 'expensive lotion' or perhaps sunlotion aspect. I can't even pick out citrus clearly. If I was blind-sniffing this, I'm not even sure I'd say citrus at any time. *Possibly* some orange? After a minute or two the part that makes me love it comes out - a very vaguely minty/camphor/green/bitter/berry scent that I've concluded must be the "black currant bud" extract listed in the ingredients. The rest of the scent is at this point a bit candy-ish, vaguely fruity-floral, but combined with that (I think) black currant bud touch, it's actually lovely. Other: supposed to be sun-safe with relatively low allergen potential. So I highly doubt it has more than a tiny trace of any citrus essential oils (would explain why I can't smell any).

Recently tried this, as here in the UK it was released last month. The bottle very summery. Although the SA told me this was unisex I think that this would work for women more than men (in my opinion). Clarins website describe it as 'sparkling freshness of fruity zests, captivating note of wild rose and the scent of comforting wood....combined with the skin care benefits of beech, sorbier and blackcurrant bud extracts'. It's more fruity and less herbal than previous body treatment scents from their range and has very good staying power. Today here in London it's 29 °C, which is hot for here, and I didn't want to wear my recent purchase Chloe (one of the few perfumes that you can actually smell on me!) as it's a bit cloying for hot wheather. Out of my 100 odd perfume collection I prefered Clarins Eau de Jardins over JM verbenas of Provence, grapefruit, LBM, AG Eau de Hadrien, Fresh Hisperades, Citron de vigne, eau de rochas etc. If you like Citrus-fruity fragrances that are not annoyingly sweet then I would definitley give this one a go. I personally can spray this many times without getting sick of it and find it very calming for some reason! I'm using my samples at the moment and will be buying a full bottle in due course.

I get mostly musk, rose and heavy bergamot. I did get a little bit of the mint as well which was the nicest part for me. I am very sensitive to musk with only a few that I've ever liked and this is not one I can handle. It feels like a sunny day in a rose garden, but much more musky and slightly sharp (which seems paradoxical, I know) than I expected from this line, after liking a different Clarins Treatment Fragrance. The scent trail carries more than the other two I have from the line which is a shame because it definitely does not work for me. Edit: The dry down is more soapy as others say and for me more manageable and quite nice. It is unique to me. I tried it under my shirt and that worked better than the wrists. My nose is already changing and now I am spraying again. What a journey!

I "tested" Eau des Jardins when an obnoxious sales assistant at Debenham's sprayed this in my face because I hesitated one second to say NO when she asked me if I knew the new Clarins scent. Anyway, I liked how my face smelled and my husband liked it, too. He says it smells like chilled lemonade and fuit drops (in a good way!). I have bought a big 100ml bottle (in a different Debenham's store) and used this during the summer months. It worked really well and I smelled fresh and sweet for weeks without attracted wasps. And as the 100ml bottle is only £ 27 I will probably buy another one for next summer.

This almost only smells like citrus, mainly lemon and grapefruit, so that It’d be kind of sour. But the lower notes prevent it from being sour really nicely. The florals and woody scents gives this perfume a really natural, fresh and unique smell. Although I don’t smell any rose. It’s barely sweet but very delicate, it just flows around you. And even though it barely is sweet does it remind me of syrup. It’s definitely a casual scent that cools your off on a hot spring day. But sadly is the longevity and sillage quite weak. Otherwise is it really nice and definitely worth it for its price!!!

Tested this today in a reputable dept.store from a big atomizer, and it was really really crisp and tangy and citrusy. So I got the 30ml, but when I got home, I saw that this one did not have a spray cap at all. So ok, a splash bottle. But when I splash this on myself, I just get green apple (not even listed!) much like Light Blue. So huh, what's that all about? I scrapped the box already and it's gone, but not sure what this is.. but checking out the bottle it says Tester-not for sale. Huh?

Passed down treasure review #6:Eau des Jardins The final one. I feel like I've smelled this before.It's like a men's cologne my dad or most men would wear.It's like along the lines of all those designer men's perfume.It smells aquatic at first,it smells cool to the nose with that and that sweet gummy orange candy.I don't hate it.I don't love it either.It's perfect for your everyday perfume.Casuals really.It won't offend anyone and it's very likeable.

First impressions: (full bottle) Oooo this is very zingy, and citrusy. Kind of reminds me of a grapefruit skin care of some sort. Let’s see how I feel about this as my morning gym scent. Edit 1: I decided to give it away to someone. It's a lil too fruity for me to be a gym scent. I also feel that it does give me a dated vibes which isn't a bad thing, but it kind of reminds me of the time I was a teen with Neutrogena pomegranate scrub.

Light. Breezy Eau. Citrus, floral. Perfect for a Mature woman who doesn't want the fragrance to stand out too much, but still be light and elegant, almost the strength of a body spray. I can see this being popular for use in a clinic and office, travel where there are many people around you. Not offensive. Barely there. It smells a little sharp citrus herbal on the first spritz, but that fades within a 30 mins to an hour.

This is a common scent I have smelled in other fragrances as well. It is truly like a ''citrus-flower punch'' scent. I do like though the fact it's natural (made from natural essential oils-not synthetic)and that's where it differs from other commercial perfumes/fragrances. It's a healthy fragrance and that's what makes it stand out from the rest of the toxic crap in department stores.

Smells very pretty and natural. The citrus is there but very delicate and it comes over more fresh floral to me. A bit like eau de cologne. But only a bit. Longevity’s pretty good for a cologne. There are base notes but they are very subtle and woody. One for summer. Edit - definitely ISO E Super in the dry down at the end of a long hot day. Very persistent it is too.

I get mainly the grapefruit note here. And that’s awesome, grapefruit is one of my favorite notes - lightly sweet, lightly bitter, super juicy and light. Unfortunately, as with other citrus fragrances, it disappears too quickly. This one is gone after 30 minutes. Which is a pity, because it’s such a beautiful summer fragrance.

I like this one! I'll definitely wear this in summertime when I want to feel fresh. I think this is a simple, everyday scent that most people could use and like. Nothing offensive or bothering. I also think it fits for layering, if you want to create something more complex. I smell mostly oranges in this one.

Just received this and it was a blind buy (my first based on Fragrantica reviews). It's really nice, very like Anna Sui Flight of Fancy at first. After about 10 minutes the middle notes are coming out really strongly and it's reminding me of a herb garden. I hope the longevity is good :)

For me, this is my summer perfume. Its such a bright, fresh and sparkling fragrance that screams warm summer days to me. While I find this fruity, its perfectly balanced with a watery freshness and depth, so is in no way sickly sweet or what you'd rate as a cheap/young fragrance.
