Eau Extraordinaire

This is so good! It's fresh, clean, completely unisex, and very modern. What I get most of all is a wonderfully refreshing iced jasmine tea. There's a mildly tropical feeling–I get a slight green apple top note, but this might just be a mix of the jasmine and citrus. Still, I wouldn't classify this as fruity at all. The ginger here is also very subtle, but it does provide a bit of spice throughout the dry down. This facet reminds me of Origins Ginger Essence (though both are overall very different). Eau Extraordinaire definitely has a spa-like feel in how refreshing and natural it is. This, and all of Clarins Treatment Fragrances, smells healthy. There are four varieties, including this new one, and each is unique. I can wear the original anytime—Eau Dynamisante is super versatile. Extraordinaire is similar in its versatility and I think it has a universal appeal. And while none of the four versions have amazing longevity, they stick around just the right amount and never stay long enough to become cloying. This also makes them great to spritz before bed or as a pillow spray. Most stronger fragrances I own, if I wear them daily for a few weeks, I'll inevitably get anosmic too. This doesn't happen with these. I also love to reapply during the day and the moisturizing, energizing nature of Clarins makes this such a pleasure. They're also all so mild. I get no reactions or UV sensitivity from anything from Clarins' range. I also love the bottle. Clarins streamlined their already simplistic standard treatment fragrance bottle for Eau Extraordinaire. This is certainly due to Clarins' new "sustainable approach". The cap is simplified and visibly uses less plastic than the previous bottles. The glass body looks a bit sleeker, too. It's absolutely beautiful to hold. The form feels like a modernization of a classic medicine bottle, which is very fitting for a treatment fragrance. I can see how some are turned off by the simplicity (i.e. boringness) of these bottles, but I find them so elegant and unpretentious. The vibrant color is the star of the show and really does enhance the perception of the juice inside.

I got this in a beauty box with seven full size products for a tenner (10 GBP) in a second hand site I put it on originally, just to test it while I had on a Lataffa of perfume, so I didn’t get it for all its glory straight away, but tonight, after my shower, I splashed it on my chest, my neck, my shoulders, around my jaw and around the back of my neck and all down my arms, my hands and a little bit on my temple, and I can say that this is just lush. This is green lushly heaven! I can smell limes & Grapefruits, a heady coriander, a very masculine vibe, I thought it was for the females, so then I googled and saw this was a masculine scent. women can definitely wear this too. This is a unisex perfume at its finest. I say perfume, loosely cause it’s a tonic water, an effervescent tonic water, like a gin & tonic, oh my days, this smells so classy and green & herby. I’ve got a massive and huge perfume collection, I have been wearing perfume and I loving perfume since I was a teenager, but this is unusual. I can’t think of anything that smells like, whether you’re a boy or a girl, YOU have to get this. You will not be disappointed. This reminds me of the lush jungles of Sri Lanka, I can smell pineapple, I can smell just yumminess, that is literally good enough to drink. I wouldn’t, but I can imagine this being a drink and it would be the thirst quencher. This is quenching my thirst for a divine boozy, heavy, citric cocktail for sure...juniper. Juniper berries, which gin is made from...told ya! Told ya, it reminds me of a gin & lime tonic 💕 this has juniper in, i would stake my mortgage on it 10 out of 10+ more!

Beautiful relaxing scent. Spa like ginger citrus for the first hour then a fresh jasmine patchouli. Smells natural and clean without being soapy. Like you spent the day at a spa. Great work or outdoor scent non offensive. My boyfriend loves it. Great deal for the price lasts all day on me.

just received a sample of the shower milk with my recent purchase of eau des jardins (which is newly rereleased so yay to that) and i cannot believe how invigorating this is! and paired with the treatment fragrance? in short, im in a spa-heaven!

I liked this scent the second I smelled it in the store, and bought it immediately thereafter. It’s a very uplifting scent, but unfortunately like every other scent in this line it doesn’t last more than two minutes.

this deserves more love. theres a hint of sexiness in this that a friend of mine said, and i quote “smells like sex”. im puzzled too but to each his own so yeah lol

I LOVE it so much but it sadly is more of a mist regarding longevity

This is a complex fragrance for me. Yes, this is definitely aroma therapy and I love the concept of a fragrance being beneficial for your skin on top of stimulating your senses. It stays the perfect amount of time on my skin for happy reapplication or choosing another scent without having residue of it lingering and potentially mixing unpleasantly with another scent. I think this is the future of fragrance. But it’s also not just an aroma therapy fragrance. To my nose it’s challenging... this scent keeps me guessing and is therefore stimulating hence energizing because it’s shifting quite a lot. Depending on temperature, moist in the air (and maybe something else which is in me) I get a shapeshifter. Is this fragrance in times too masculine although I do wear unisex fragrances and don’t feel bothered usually by notes that are deemed “masculine”? Do I wish the jasmine would have been a little more prominent? Do I feel like it’s sometimes too bitter smelling from ginger + patchouli (only lavender is missing here to create a bitter bomb)? Do I feel like it is very pleasant and sophisticated smelling but at the same time a little old fashioned? Do I think it’s slightly screechy with the high sounding note of acerola being mixed with other high camphorous notes of said patchouli and ginger? Does it smell like a vitamin shower? Yes yes yes and I wonder why Clarins is creating such a masculine scent when their customer base is rather feminine. But overall I’m very glad I purchased it and love the way it makes me feel (maybe even alive) I guess because it’s challenging me with its complexity. The bottle looks absolutely juicy and is so so pleasing to hold. The sprayer is fantastic. Yes I feel alive wearing this. And I even think it’s a tad sexy (as bitterness is). I give this one a light 9 out of 10.

I used to think that I liked this perfume a lot more, but I realize I was probably seeking comfort in the fun green bottle and aromatherapy promises at my most vulnerable point (in an airport duty-free). The reality is that while it's an acceptable spa-like scent for those who are into natural smells, the jasmine and patchouli combined make it feel a bit too humid and heady for my liking. Like the citrus and ginger and trying to be bright and invigorating at the forefront, but it's a little muddled. Maybe that is intended to evoke the figurative steamy spa experience, but it's just not my jam in the sense that the notes aren't really meshing too well.

Bought this on a blind buy when I saw someone selling it on our online store here in New Zealand. It’s fresh, soapy and even a bit zingy. I like it but it fades quickly and after a time it can hardly be detected. I’m not sure I would want to pay full price for this little one but it is lovely and I can see myself wearing this when summer rolls round. Maybe I will add a few dabs of Vaseline on my skin first so my fragrance can cling onto to it and make the scent last longer. I think both men and women would like this one much like the other two.

I really like this! Though I'm not a big fan of citrus scents (boring to me), this one is so nice since it's blending well with ginger and white flowers. It's not too fresh, nor too citrusy, nor too spicy.. It's just perfect! The patchouli gives it a slight earthy feel, and the blend of jasmine and ginger gives it an indescribable sexiness. Perfect to wear in hot days, as well as for a cozy day at home! It faints quickly though, which I assume is normal since it's an "Eau Fraiche". 7/10

Mate, this is actually special. It’s one of those scents that you wouldn’t normally go for but it’s unique enough to spark your interest again and again. And it’s cheap at the same time. It’s sexy without trying to be, especially within current zeitgeist of sweet perfumes being associated with sensuality - this is the opposite of it, nothing sweet about it, yet it’s so captivating. Bit bitter, bit herby, bit citrusy, very nonchalant.

This is a light perfumed water, with zing from citrus and ginger, and a deeper earthy and herby base, from the patchouli. It is very fresh, not very flowery and just sweet enough. It is perfectly unisex, very, very slightly masculine leaning, but I have enjoyed wearing it in summer and on holiday, in very warm climates. Obviously it is not very long lasting but it leaves a very pleasant scent on skin for a couple of hours 💚🍋🫚🌿

It's very similar to Issy's Pleats Please, which I adore. This is bit lighter, it's fresh and green to start with almost 'minty' and fades slightly to leave a spicy floral scent. Fades a bit too quickly. I think I prefer the lotion the perfume. But I do like it.

It’s a fresh woody spa scent that lingers if you spray on your clothes. Not too feminine so it is great for warm days when you’re not feeling up for a floral fragrance. I love its woodsy scent and will definitely keep it permanent in my collection.

Love this scent super zingy and bright has an earthy aspect to it with the jasmine which I think grounds it very nicely. Don’t expect projection or longevity, it stays on the skin nicely but others won’t smell it unless they hug you.

Fresh and a little bit sweet! I catch scents of fresh lemon and sweet ginger. I really like it! Just a dab goes a long way. Would be a lovely summers day fragrance.

This is my bedtime fragrance. Fresh but surprisingly comforting. Perfect for summer nights!

Leans very masculine. I wish it had way more jasmine, then it would be divine.

I don't hate this fragrance at all, but I find the ginger and the patchouli slightly too overpowering for my tastes and I would have preferred it if these notes were dialed way down. I also would have preferred more jasmine and slightly less of the citrusy notes, to add a bit more floral lushness. Some orange blossom and neroli would have been nice too. The other thing is is that this fragrance's longevity is weak at just 2 and a half hours on me and the sillage is pretty weak too. It is more of a splash to freshen yourself up than an actual perfume in many ways. I'd say that Eau Extraordinaire is unisex too and that you could wear it either during spring or summer for casual daytime outings. I prefer fragrances that are more feminine. Altogether, I'd give Eau Extraordinaire by Clarins an average score of 5.9/10.

wanted to like this so, so bad, but on me it turned cheap & nauseating. I think it was the sweetness of the ginger combined with the (notoriously old-lady-like, if not done correctly) patchouli that did me in. I smelled like a crazy cat lady.... worn, cheap and just. weird. weirdly off-putting. thank god I didn't pay full price for the bottle! managed to give it to my friend (avid dior poison wearer) who pulled it off seamlessly -- maybe it demands a kind of sunny femininity I don't have, lol

At first I thought this reminded me of the notes Issey Miyake Pleats Please L'Eau. It is a dry green floral ... but with more citrus. I would suggest Issey's lush faerie woodland masterpiece spritzed frugally, to this.... almost cologne blend, which is way too sharp for my nose. Now, I didn't put it on my skin, so perhaps it is a different creature there. This Clarins line is stronger than the Biotherm Eau line, so if you want a fragrance even lighter than this, I recommend that.

I am sorry to say that but to me it smells like a cheap roll-on deodorant, coming straight from the armpit.

On first sniff it's a bright fresh clean feminine citrusy smell. Perfect for office wear. It settles and you get a delicate slightly spicy gentle floral. It does sit close to the skin in a nice way. I like the fact you can spray this and it smells good immediately. You don't have to wait for it to settle but when it does it's like a gentle clean shampoo. If you're worried about the patchouli smelling too strong in this then don't because it's very subtle and just gives the scent a little spicy kick. It's an uplifting scent that you can wear and feel safe you won't offend anyone. You might get a few people say you smell pretty good though!!

Smells like you’ve been to a spa that uses citrusy clean products. Stays pretty close to the skin and becomes incorporated as a lovely lingering body wash smell which would be great after a shower! But it doesn’t last more than 30minutes sadly. I’m glad it wasn’t an impulse buy but for $40 for the whole set (lotion and shower gel) I’d say it’s a nice to have when you want to have more than just a quick shower

It is lovely and beautiful but imo one of the lesser offerings from this line as a scent for the simple reason that is smells too clean, like a floral shampoo. Reminds me of OUAI products. Nice to put on without thinking in the heat of the summer when you just want to smell clean. I will keep testing, so far it’s a like not a love.

Great and delicious fragrance, a bit natural, a bit classic, a bit vintage, a bit modern. Green, sparkly, remember me something of the 70s citruses fragrances, and even something of the end of 80s first 90s. A perfect simple juicy fresh fragrance which embrace and touch many eras and moods, from childhood to sportive scents.

This is amazing absolutely natural fresh aromatherapy. 😍 showered myself at thr airport. I'm going to need to get this. Didn't clock ginger more of a fresh green zesty citrus garden. But I can roll with ginger zing interpretation. Absolutely lush.

I love Clarins but this is awful. It's very woody and spicy, like a strong men's deodorant from the 80s. Even my husband thought it was too much for him. I threw my bottle out.

Love this scent Reminds me of summer and sunshine. Sadly doesn't last long on me and many others I have let use my bottle.

This is such a beautiful cooling and chic scent. I love it but I just wish it had longer staying power.
