Bois Primitif

Opening smells a lot like a christmas candle, almost pine-y with a focus on cinnamon - mild cinnamon (not at all overpowering or like doing the cinnamon challenge, but a gentle, smooth cinnamon). Although the rose and lavender does help it move away from the candle-waxy smell as the fragrance gets to sit and evolves into a lavender vanilla-musky easygoing scent. The musk is not at all animalic, but helps give a nice warmth to the scent. Having tried Velvet Rose, Deep Water and Eden Amber, this is by far the most restrained of them, which isn't a bad thing. I love the others for their potency, and I think that if this one had that same potency, it would be too much. I could definitely see myself wearing this for a christmas get-together or simply during the holidays because it comes off as very christmassy without bombarding you with a hundred spices and God knows what else. Perfectly unisex, to me this is a testament in a perfumer showing restraint, and as a result producing an elegant perfume.

Opens warm and spicy and sweet with a preponderant cinnamon note. As it evolves a subtle freshness peeks in and transports you into a walk in a forest. I love the juxtaposition of lavender with these cozier notes, somehow it turns it in a fragrance apt for all year round (for evening dates on summer).

Very beautiful fruity perfume. Claudio did really nice work with both Vanilla Pancake and this one. I will simply enjoy both, which I recommend.

Mildly cinnamon and gingerbread-like cookie in the opening and fruity fresh lavender and transparent rose in the middle section. As it lingers, it takes on a more creamy structure and a slightly woody vanilla reveals itself at the end. A perfume that depicts Christmas time on the whole, but on the other hand, with its fruity fresh lavender, it has a barbershop vibe. However, it reminds me something a lot and I remembered it while wondering what it smells like. They are 95% the same as Prada Luna Rossa Extreme which was discontinued years ago. The only difference is that Prada used more fresh spices instead of cinnamon. The rest of it is exactly the same in terms of both scent and quality.

Smells exactly like a Christmas candle. It's a great house scent, but I wouldn't wear it.
