Agua De Colonia No.3 Arabian Wood

Agua De Colonia No.3 Arabian Wood has been replaced by Agua Fougére. I didn't know this brand and tried it at the Lissabon airport. I sprayed it on a piece of paper and later I noticed that I kept on smelling to the paper. I started to look which perfume I sprayed on this piece of paper as I tried so many fragrances that I didn't remember which the special smell was. It reminded a bit of Creed Aventus. I found out the it was the Agua De Colonia No.3. Fougére. It's a weak but addictive cologne and bought a bottle of 125mL for like EUR 85,-. It was absolutely not my intension to buy this perfume. It's a really nice fougëre. Very ' green' in the beginning and after 10 minutes it transfers to a nice Aventus like smell.

This is an extremely sweet candy fruit frag. Initially it smells to me like chocolate covered fruits, almost like when you first open an expensive box of mixed chocolate covered fruit candies, or enter into an old fashioned candy shop. Even though Oud is not listed in the notes, it is in there, not strongly, but it is. The name Arabian Wood certainly would indicate the presence of oud. It reminds me somewhat of Bogarts Silver Scent, not as sweet and grapey, and with a touch of oud. Maceration or oxidation helped a lot, the sweetness toned down, and the oud became more apparent. Much better after some time ! Performance is excellent, packaging is awesome too, it looks like something from a 19th century apocathery. In a paper tube with antique font writing on it . It is a bit sweet for formal or office wear, but on a date night or social setting it would be good. I am happy to have a bottle of this hard to find juice. A very cool addition to my collection. By the way, this has NO resemblance to Aventus. The reviews below I think was for another perfume in the line called Aqua Fougere
