Clean Sweet Layer

I have never bought a citrus scent before - always only floral. I agree the lemon is quite striking at the outset, but it softens quickly. I actually quite like leaving the house now with this on, to my surprise! But I think a trick is also to layer this with a floral - I've used Pretty, for instance.

I found this smells a lot like household cleaner. It really turned me from it. It's a nice scent though, for people who work in the medical/school field. Not too "perfumey" to people who are sensitive to scent. =) -Christa

This was my first 'big girl' perfume I bought for myself with my own money from my first job, which also coincided with my first love, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. It's the nostalgic smell of my transition from a teenager into adulthood. Or, more likely, what the teen version of me thought an independent fashionable adult woman would wear, though I would not by any means consider this to be a "womanly" or "adult" scent by my current standards. It is totally teenage- I would probably find it too immature to be even be wearable with my now seasoned nose (but would still purchase for flashback-inducing purposes). Notes of pink bubblegum, sparkling citrus, fizzy cream soda, white bar soap, opaque body lotion, bleached cotton fabric, laundry detergent powder, clear skies, sunshine... Bright, fresh, energetic, effervescent, clean, candied, aldehydic, saponified, musky. Optimistic. Addictive. Like a pop song in a bottle. As if they added a touch of Aquolina Pink Sugar &/or Fresh Sugar Lemon to their flagship fragrance. A sweetened version of the original concept, just like the name says. Still haven't smelled anything like it since, but the memory will always remain. 🩷

I really like this scent..back when it first came out (synchronous to Ultimate's release)I had read that many people were layering Clean's Ultimate with Sweet Layer! Great idea! I put it on just after a nice soapy shower and that "Clean" feeling follows me all day long..which is awesome living in the temperate climate of sunny CA! Some of the initial notes that burst forward take you by surprise (as I'm not a citrus person by nature) but they do dry down to a clean enjoyable fragrance to wear. I highly recommend this...and if you're up for experimenting, do as I did and try layering! Good luck!

I would always reach for this one over the original. Milder og sweeter- truly miss it!
