H2Eau Brilliant Peony

I am actually obsessed with this. As someone who gets headaches and nausea so easily from fragrance due to MCAS, water based frags are the way to go. I feel like the alcohol, plant esters and oil extracts can be too intense. I have to be so particular about EDP’s and extraits and often have to stick with EDTs and EDC’s even though I would prefer a good clean natural parfum. I always wondered why I was able to wear so many perfumes without issue in the 90’s and y2k era..this is answer. There were more water based fragrances and also more fresh and aquatic notes and delicate florals reminiscent of that fresh out of the shower scent, which is usually only found today in edt’s and become too heavy or synethic imo in modern edp’s. BRING BACK THE y2k EDT DNA IN EDP FORM...this is exactly what the H2Eau line is. A cleaner version of y2k fresh and vibrant notes. They smell so nostalgic but more high end and natural. There was nothing synthetic to be found at least in this one. I dgaf about the stickiness either. If I can bypass allergic reactions, synthetic and cloying notes, and have a cleaner return of those y2k aquatic floral herbal essence shampoo fresh out of the shower effect back, I’m SOLD. Bringing back the return of a fragrances that evoke the 90’s and 00’s esp rn when that has become popular again in fashion, is right on time with the curve in that direction in fragrances as well. Britney’s Curious was trending and god i loved that ish when it came out so I had thrift some. If you love frags like curious you’ll love this collection. Brilliant Peony also takes me back to THE 90’s when I was gifted a Body Fantasies Peony Fantasy set of 3, of the rarer rounded small bottles with fairies on the lids. A body spray, a spray lotion and a spray shimmer gel. Of course but as I said, it’s that, elevated to a clean and natural alcohol free high end scent of the notes and frags I adored in my youth. It’s Peony Fantasy grown up. And btw the “floral notes” have got to be tuber rose, lotus and potentially a hint of neroli. The rest of the notes come through perfectly minus the sandalwood which seems close to non existent- it likely rounds out all of the florals as to not make it too sharp while retaining a “brilliant” bright quality. Mostly white musk and aquatic in the dry down base though. A lot of ppl saying it’s too light or the notes get lost or too much of a generic aquatic, If you want to add some woodiness, I love to use Santal Haze Treehut sugar scrub because it creates a lovely woody musk skin scent that pairs well with both fresh or spicy scents. To amp it up you can use the the matching santal body serum and to also musk it up ill add a bit of Missing Person straight on my skin then apply a a lighter floral, aquatic, or sweet & spicy gourmand. Despite this having y2k dna, it’s 2026 and we can think outside of the box with scent layering to customize the perfect experience for ourselves if we find something too simple. Not everything has to be ouds and beast mode. All love for this frag and collection. I want a full size.

This is, as others have stated, a more "one note" fragrance. It isn't complex. It smells like peony from start to finish... Maybe with just a whisper of white musk right before it completely disappears. If a watercolor painting of a bouquet of peonies had a scent, this would be it. It's soft and sweet. I don't find it to have poor lasting time. Quite the opposite of what I expected. After putting it on only skin, I still catch whiffs of this 8+ hours later. It's subtle, but it's there. As to formula concerns, this is entirely unique to anything I own. It is not a typical alcohol based perfume and you can't wear it the same way. I tested it on cotton fabric and I didn't find that it stained, but I could see how that would be an issue if you sprayed the perfume too close and didn't allow it to fully atomize. It might also depend on what type of fabric you spray it on. It will make your clothes slightly sticky and it is tacky on skin. I put it directly on skin before clothing and just don't bother trying to apply it to my clothes. It's a skin scent that forces you to wear it that way.

Smells like aquatic peony fabric softener, very clean, this is in no way a dirty och jammy peony. I believe this is the best clean/fresh laundry fragrance on the market. As stated before it is fairly one note. But I must say it is a classy, refined, elegant and office appropriate scent. It doesn't have the hash detergent note of warm cotton and smells soft, the sweetness is really subtle. Really great everyday fragrance that is unlikely to bother anyone. I imagine Charlotte York smells like this. This H2EAU line has gotten really mixed response on the formula, but I feel like it bothers my nose and lungs less than regular perfume with alcohol, so it's a win in my book. Peony is probably my favourite note in a perfume and this does not disappoint if that’s your vibe. This is very much that clean fresh lightly floral and very girly light perfume that’s an easy grab for any type of day, any type of weather, any occasion! It’s work safe and in offensive. Is it revolutionary-no. Is it ground breaking with wild notes that are so intriguing-no. But it’s a beautiful fresh aquatic floral that ya can’t go wrong with! It’s a love for me!

A pretty, fresh, bright, and watery floral! I think this would be especially lovely in the springtime! The bright and floral peony and the fresh watery scents are what stand out the most to me. The musk and sandalwood are more subtle, but become more prominent on me as the fragrance dries down. I think the peony is very well done. It’s very realistic smelling, just like the peonies in my garden right after they open. I typically get great longevity with my fragrances, but I wasn’t sure what to expect with this new H2Eau formula. Surprisingly, it lasted the whole day on me. The projection was also nice, about an arm’s length with a light application.

Brilliant Peony alone is very linear, but it's not a bad thing. It smells like straight up peony with a water note. That is it. If you love that, you will love this. BUT when I mix this with Clean Reserve Skin, it turns into this soft, cozy, floral musk. It smells like cuddling in fresh sheets in a garden, under the warm sun with a cool breeze.

This smells gorgeous, but very one note on me. The top notes give me nothing but peony, and it continues to be all peony when it dries down. I got this as part of a discovery set, so I’m looking forward to layering this with the other scents to create something different, but I can’t see buying a bottle of just this one note.

Very odd dichotomy on my skin, simultaneously it smells like a delightful aquatic peony that is irresistible, but then smells a bit salty out of the blue in the next breath. I wonder if it has something to do with the water base? I'll test it again on a warmer day.

I like the scent, it feels very watery, with a basic floral scent. It is very intimate, and you almost cant smell it after drydown. It smells like spring rain, around peonies, i enjoy it, but for the price, i would not repurchase it

This scent seems to get some mixed reviews, but I found it to be quite nice. Lasted for 6+ hours on me, however the projection is subtle. It is pretty one note, but the peony is so fresh with hints of an aquatic note.

Your typical floral fresh scent. The best way I can describe it is as a slightly sweet watery peony. Simple and gorgeous. If you love aquatic fresh florals this is definitely worth a try.

Light, refreshing, linear, pretty, but has absolutely no longevity on my skin

Hmm... interesting. It smells like childhood memories. Warm afternoons after school with my girlies, running around the park near blooming bushes, lollipops in our mouths and laughter floating in the summer air. There’s something nostalgic here, like the scent of our moms and aunties when they lean down to hug us, mixed with the sugary candy they slip into our hands, or maybe some dreamy blend of both. The fragrance feels sweet, soft, and innocent, like a little kid who loves candy and secretly tries on her mom’s blouse on a hot summer afternoon, giggling in the mirror. Sandalwood usually makes me feel sick, but in this one it’s so faint it doesn’t bother me. It fades rather quickly, within about an hour, but while it lasts, it carries this playful, tender charm that feels personal and nostalgic to me. 6/10

I like it, but I have other similar fragrances I just prefer because this is just so subtle and the product execution just.. isn't the best. It can leave a sticky film. I have this in a small rollerball, so it's also making the roller ball less functional with the residue. When you first apply there's a very 'sour candy watermelon' smell and then after about 30 minutes it gets pulled back and the peony comes forward. It's nice. I love fresh aquatic florals for spring and summer. I prefer 'Flower Fresh' also by Clean over this, though. If you want a fresh clean smelling Peony, I also really like 'Flower Bed' from Fine'ry, too.

Smells like a watermelon hard candy, or like something I would’ve gravitated towards at Bath & Body Works as a young teenager. Longevity is an hour, maybe two at most, and projection is non-existent.

The fragrance is nice but but pretty one-note. It does not overpower, but gives character. It gives you that smell of fresh laundry without smelling like fresh laundry. The nozzle broke after just three weeks of use which is a HUGE minus for a product on this price range (even cheap 5€ fragrances won't suffer from this). Another big negative is that this perfume gives me rash after few days of use and the rash won't go away quickly (and I never get rashes from perfumes). It might be due to it being water-based and the perfume not dissipating properly from the skin.
