Sueded Oud

Going back and forth on this one... at first, I enjoyed it and got a sample of it to see how I liked it over multiple uses. I love Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot and thought this seemed similar, but with a "white" background and a bit more creaminess. I find this to have a sort of peppery note, almost like a fresh pepper being sliced for a recipe. My body chemistry mixes with this and almost seems to read as B.O..... your results may vary, though. Overall, I find this to be pleasant, is noticeable for at least several hours, and seems pleasant from first spray to dry down. However, for me, there's something funky about it and when mixing with my body chemistry/natural smell, reads almost as B.O. in its dry down. BUT... certain times I've worn this, I don't get that vibe, and it is more appealing. It may just be that I prefer the Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot, which reads as a more piney and winter-friendly scent. I purchased the mini from Sephora and will update my review once I've worn this more. UPDATE - I think I may have just had legit B.O. the day I thought this was the cause because since then I've re-worn Sueded Oud several times and I LOVE IT!!! While the longevity is so-so (detectable maybe 5-6 hrs) the scent is AWESOME and is such a confidence-exuding scent. The dry down is a little simple and the oud doesn't follow to the fragrance's conclusion, just a bright, sweetish musk. However, I don't wear a TON of perfume and I don't typically receive compliments, but I did receive a compliment when I was wearing a jacket sprayed with Sueded Oud 6 hours earlier and gave someone a hug :^) TRY THIS ONE! I like it best when I spritz each *top* of the wrist, neck, and one spritz to walk through.

OMFG!!! I tried this on while I was at Sephora 2 hours ago, and I can't stop smelling my wrist. I stopped off to get dog food and got a compliment on how good I smell. At first sniff I wasn't too sure I liked it. It opened up with a sharp (pimento?), raw, dirty sex (musk? incense?) smell. Within 10 minutes it softened and I began to smell cypress, fir, and oud. That's when I became hooked. It only took another 10 minutes or so before suede and amber began to mingle with the cypress, fir, oud, musk, and incense. Within a few minutes magnolia and honeysuckle blossoms added to the chorus. Over 2 hours in, I'm smelling a hint of jasmine, quite a bit of frankincense, and a touch of sophisticated patchouli - but, I can still smell all the other notes. As it develops, the top notes don't give way to the middle notes, which don't step aside for the base notes. This is a fragrance that keeps building on itself. It's a bewildering, unconventional, labyrinthine scent. I don't think this is a scent everyone will fancy. On me, Sueded Oud has moderate bordering on heavy sillage. I've now been wearing it for about 5 hours and although it's fading, I can still smell it. And, although faint now, it's hauntingly beautiful. EDIT: I just woke up and I can STILL smell this 11 hours later! What a great way to start a new day.

Wow, CLEAN’s Sueded Oud is a fantastic, if simple, scent. A light, smoky woodiness with a wisp of leather, over a mild underlying sweetness from praline. Another reviewer described Sueded Oud as a “diet” version of Margiela’s By the Fireplace, and that about nails it. You’re no longer “by the fireplace,” but you’re downwind from that fireplace’s chimney, its odor mingling with the fresh air outside. I also detect some similarities with Jo Malone’s Oud and Bergamot, though this smells a bit airier, a smidge more unisex. Just divine. A crowd-pleaser that’s still unique when compared to other scents that line Sephora’s shelves. However, one criticism: I wish Sueded Oud had better longevity. It persists for a few hours on skin, then needs retouching. Longevity issues have prevented me from purchasing other fragrances in the past, but not here. It’s simply too good, hitting that pleasure center of my brain. Spray with abandon; it’ll never overpower the senses. Inhale, and *ahhhhhhhhhh...”!

I just got this back in my collection (and this is my second but slightly more positive review on this perfume) but in a big decant instead of the 100ml bottle I sold 2 years ago (I regretted selling it almost immediately after doing so) and it's just a really lovely cosy sweater-scent. I'm in Sweden and I'd wear this the most in September to November when the leaves are changing, the moss is dewy, and the mushrooms are emerging. And then again in March and April when it starts getting brighter outside and it's more rainy than sunny. For me personally it's hard to tell which note(s) are the most prominent because it is so mellow yet not dull. Definitely unisex. It is an unoffensive skin scent for sure. If this lasted more than 5-6 hours, it would be on my favourites-shelf. I saw someone suggest in another review to layer it with Another 13, I have a dupe of that, so I'm going to try that out.

This is a lovely unique scent - I'd say if handsome contractors in Whistler had a skin scent, it would be this fragrance. I get a decent amount of a fresh aromatic green accord (cypress and fir), followed by the suede and slightly animalic oud, which eventually mellows into a patchouli praline musk. It is unisex, but just ever so slightly leaning masculine. I (a woman) do wear it, however. It is subtle and posh smelling, BUT sadly, I get a weird natural peanut butter note on my skin...I keep trying to make it work, as I think wearing it on skin makes it shine, and a bit is lost on clothes...but maybe not my skin. Will try in all seasons. Weak longevity and sillage, but nice. Edit: I suspect the weird peanut butter note (which eventually goes away, but makes the opening unenjoyable for me) is a combo of the praline and oud. Second edit: This shines in warmer weather on me. No more PB note.

One thing to understand about “Clean” is that all of their fragrances have a base that smells like freshly laundered clothes. So whenever you see a title of one of their fragrances, just know it’s going to smell like that title plus freshly laundered clothes- Suede Oud is no different... “Sueded Oud” smells mostly like an airy, light, woody incense. Just below that is a lightly sweet floral musk & in the base is their signature freshly laundered clothes accord. Longevity isn’t bad for me (6-8hrs), however projection is rather poor. This is a well blended fragrance imo. It’s definitely 50/50 unisex- woody, incense represent the masculine side while the floral musk make up the feminine. Most all ladies will love this scent, perhaps just slightly more to wear than to smell on a man. Great fragrance 8.5/10!

A complex and challenging experience. This scent is dominated by the dry, ceremonial notes of incense and faded roses, but quickly gives way to something far more visceral. There's a sharp, metallic chill that strangely conjures the pristine, sterile air of a doctor's office, carrying a whisper that unnervingly hints at the scent of blood. Maybe it's just my skin's chemical make-up but I'd be interested to see anyone else smells the metalic blood in this. This is not a dupe for TF Oud Wood. This is a completely different scent - it is much MUCH lighter. I have TF Oud Wood which opens with a blast of rosewood and cardamom. UPDATE: I have to say that this has quickly become my favorite Fall/Winter scent. Layering Suede Oud and Santal + Vetiver is my signature scent Fall/Winter 2025

This fragrance was one of the first ones I ever had that made me want to smell it continuously. I kept my empty bottle around to smell for years because I couldn't find it anymore for a little bit and thought Clean had discontinued it. To my pleasant surprise, it is now in stock on their website and I'll be reordering immediately! It smells like the feeling you get when you walk out of your cold air conditioned house into the warm sunshine rays outside on your back porch. Cozy, comforting, creamy, rich. I'm reminded of things like aged leather, woods, and smoke, but rounded out with a pillowy sweetness to bring it all together.

This is my first Oud fragrance, and wow is this a lovely into to Oud! Something about this reminds me of my mom in the 90’s or Rachel Green in Friends (in a positive, fashionable woman way). I definitely get the cactus flower and honeysuckle, which are two of my favorite notes in a fragrance!! Those give this a fresh, uplifting quality that I think could make this wearable year round. The suede note is like smelling the inside of a fresh leather bag, so wealthy and quiet luxury coded. I can sense I will be reaching for this one a TON. So unique and signature scent worthy!

As this is my first fragrance that has oud in it, I can't really speak on how it's supposed to smell, but this is a comforting, slightly smoky, woody, warm skin-scent musk. Very soft sillage, definitely sits close to the skin on me personally. Same effect projection-wise. Moderate longevity, can still smell it (faintly) after 7 hours. A successful (and affordable) blind buy on an auction site for me, but I would not pay full price for the performance it gives. There are probably similar fragrances to this (composition-wise) that are more bang for your buck.

Love this scent. It's opening is fresh and a little spicy, but of course it’s mostly woody and musky on the dry down. There is an underlying softness and creaminess from suede, but it’s a sweet smelling suede and it’s accompanied by hints of floral. Amongst all this is the oud, which definitely adds some smokiness and warmth, but it manages well to smell clean. Perfectly on brand. It’s complex and beautiful and I’ve received plenty of compliments. Great for those colder days when you just want to smell cozy and amazing.

Boy oh boy was I excited to try this....a blind buy of course🤣 and safe to say, I love it❣️❣️❣️!!! Smells so elevated❣️.....a woody floral concotion which smells more than you pay for it. The oud is tammed, so do not be afraid of the notes. They seem a lot, but they are blended to perfection. You get a bit of the sweetness from the praline, light florals and just a hint of woodiness or maybe that sexy suede accord peeking through. Divine juice!!!! ❣️❣️❣️Niche quality for sure. Will repurchase!!!!!

I'm not big on strong leather or suede scents, but nevertheless I adore this. It's oud, but well balanced with other floral and resiny notes so that it's still beautifully complex. The suede scent is in the background, where it belongs, in my opinion. I've tried all of Clean's reserve line and this is one with better lasting power and sillage than others. If you like oud, but you don't necessarily want JUST oud (or overpowering oud), this is a great option to at least sample or try on.

Soft, warm and musky. I` m new to oud, and figured this was a good place to start. This is pleasant and cosy. Amber, birch, suede and oud can easily be detected. A really pleasant and clean smelling scent. Surprisingly well blended... like a warm a comforting hug. Soft silage and moderate longevity. Its the kind of scent which you can put on and enjoy before going to bed. REALLY good one from clean. The beautiful dry down reminds me of Nasengold #S Totally and utterly love !

Received my full bottle today and I’m delighted. Don’t expect a full on bold oud fragrance, but perhaps it’s something to consider if you want to wear a softer oud that’s not so intimidating and less in-your-face (there are times when we need something gentler smelling). It’s a great entry level oud fragrance, it’s easy to wear all year around. The leather note here is more like suede. Just lovely, cosy and comforting and really well blended. A blind buy that I don’t regret.

Sueded Oud is a sleeper! Gorgeous crackling dry wood (I smell cedar lumber) and smooth amber (not the gooey sweet stuff). The suede and patchouli can be bossy in other scents but here they are thankfully toned down but both adds to the palpably dry texture. There's a subtle smokiness but no outright oud or incense. Sueded Oud is the olfactory portrait of a dessicated tree in the middle of a desert. The throw is impressive even with one spray. Unique and extremely pleasant!

I just got this in the mail. It is not something I would have bought as a blind buy without being influenced on Youtube. Im usually out on anything that is labeled oud. That being said, I love this. It is so light and clean. It will be perfect for work. It is perfect to layer with anything. Perfect for the gym. I didn't think I would love this as much as I do. It is up there with Skin and Solar Bloom from this line. Will buy again when I see a deal on a bottle.

Wearing this on my hands and wrists today along with a heavy spray of DKNY BD all over my clothing. I enjoy everything about Clean Sueded Oud! This is my kind of easy wear fragrance. Just grab and go without worry. It is perfect for this very cold winter day. The incense, wood and olibanum are soothing and smell of a smoky fireplace to me. This is not really unique as smells go, but it is good quality and I trust it to perform the same every time I wear it.

The perfect easy reach any time of the year! Just enough sweetness, wood, green notes--complex set of notes, but very easy to wear. So glad the brand brought this one back! Here's how CLEAN describes it: "Inspired by a study in contrast. This unisex fragrance is the culmination of smoky darkness and airy lightness. The intoxicating dark oud softened by whispers of light florals and an underlying creamy sweetness creates an exotic signature fragrance."

This has a very interesting, nostalgic quality to it for me. This combination of ingredients reminds me of something in my past, but I can’t figure out exactly what that is. Nonetheless, this is a nice, pleasant scent. If oud in there, its very light, and that is fine for me, as I get a negative reaction with strong oud scents. Love the smell of oud, but it does not reciprocate back.

This is a smooth, woody, slightly sweet and BEAUTIFUL oud. I really don't know why this doesn't get more attention. The longevity isn't great, but that's to be expected with the Clean Reserve fragrances. This is beautiful on it's own, but it's absolutely stunning layered with Clean Reserve Skin and helps give Skin more depth and slightly better longevity.

OMG, I am obsessed with this! It's so warm and smoky/woody. I could actually go stronger on the woody/fire note but I feel like it's pretty well balanced. Right now I just have two little travel sprays because it's hard to find this on discount sites and I cannot bring myself to spend full price on anything. But I will admit that I was tempted.

This is "roll-my-eyes-back-in-my-head-on-first-sniff" good. I'm scared of oud, and I'm hesitant about some unisex scents, but this is so good. I like that the fir and wood are soft, as I don't want to smell like a candle. It easily straddles unisex, and I think it would smell great on everyone. I can't wait to wear this more in the fall.

Deeply in love with this. It's UNIQUE and fresh and interesting!!! Do you like rose and tobacco? Try honeysuckle and incense! It sounds insane but it just seriously werkkks. This is smooth, woody, mildly smoky, fresh, green, floral, god it's kind of everything? Need a full bottle to continue existing.

This is a beautiful scent that isn't too loud or sharp...it's very soft around the edges. There's a warm, comforting feel as it dries down. All of my favorite notes are there, but I don't get the floral as others have..it's mostly the amber, suede and oud. Quite a lovely scent.

Amazing scent for those who love clean and woody notes. Smooth, airy oud. Sweet balsamic nuances in the background. Luxe open concept log cabbin in a pine forest. Feels nordic. Neither warm nor cold. Stays close to the skin. Hands down one of my favourite purchases this year.

Review is for my own reference - This is a great unisex fragrance! It is a warm seductive smell that is not too overpowering. The only downside is how expensive the perfume is. it's a clean scent like the company's name 'Clean' would suggest.

This is my favourite Clean fragrance. Really well balanced oud, sweetness, smokiness, gorgeous. An upscale scent, for special occasions. Lasting power is around 6 hours with soft projection. Bottle is from 2019 Overall rating 8/10

This was/is heavenly. So so good. It lasted throughout the day and radiated arms length. For the price you can't go wrong.

This smells so so good, it just doesn't last. I will respray because I really love it.

Heavy musk and spicy scent with a lovely dry down of light musk and smokey leather!

I don't know if I am alone on this one but... This smells like a dupe of Tom Ford's Oud Wood to my nose. At least it develops in a similar (frighteningly similar) way on my skin. Before anyone starts bashing me, this is a GOOD thing. I was pleasantly surprised with this fume. Randomly browsing through Sephora the packaging caught my eye and I ended up testing all of the reverse line scents. This one stood out immediately. I don't know much about the brand but from what I've read, they are known for their laundry scent, skin scent, clean fumes which juxtaposes anything with OUD in it. Oud to me is stanky, dirty, raw, deep woods, sexual, HEAVY. It seems odd that a brand known as "CLEAN" would have a oud fragrance but ... it works! Unisex synthetic (but well done) oud with creamy leather/suede, subtle amber, musk and incense. Vanilla isn't listed but I catch vanilla in the drydown which may be that "praline" note people are noticing. Oud Wood has a soft vanilla smell lingering behind its woodsy veneer which is similar to the note in this fragrance. Sillage is moderate and longevity is poor to moderate. Price point is good, around $100 for 100ml compared to Tom Ford's 100ml for $200+. The more I wear it, the more surprised I am how much I am drawn to it. If only it lasted longer than an hour!

I think this is the first suede I actually like. It's like a sweet, warm, sugared leather and wood. I'm honestly surprised there are so many notes in the list. Sueded Oud has surprising complexity for such a simple scent. To me, it is candied peppers and desert wood. Dry enough to fit the name, but sweet enough to sell well. A bit of musk to ground it and some florals, but none too distinct to call by name. At first, Sueded Oud is surprisingly astringent. It settles, but for a short time, there is a distinct rubbing alcohol element. It eventually fades into a musky suede with spice and warmth. The result is a pleasant mix of florals and sugar but also something dry and hot. Driftwood miles from shore, or incense carried on a passing breeze. It has a rugged earthiness and juicy cactus aspect as well. On me, the amber and patchouli are particularly present. The greenery, less so. I could easily see Sueded Oud being an everyday scent for a "cool" person. It's a little different, but not off-putting at all. Unique but not bizarre. Unisex.

This fragrance definitely smells of high quality. It is also definitely unisex (i.e. the opening leans a bit feminine). When I first smelled this fragrance, it immediately reminded me of 2 things: 1. Ard Al Zaafaran's Dirham (not in Fragrantica's database) 2. An airy, non-animalic take on the typical rose+oud combo I have the Dirham fragrance so I won't be keeping this. But the opening of both are similar in that both have this floral+oud smell that is VERY airy and not animalic at all. In fact, it feels like that praline/chocolate note along with the cypress gives this Clean fragrance a little bit of separation. This lasts a whole workday with no issues and won't choke people out. It may not develop or change at all but it's a high quality smell that works in all seasons but the heat of summer. YT channel - The Scentrovert

So unexpectedly lovely. I received it as a gift and wasn't sure I would enjoy it; I'm not a leather girl, and oud has been hit or miss for me. But Sueded Oud is so gentle, pleasing, soft - it's sweet, just a little smoky, and the incense gives it just a hint of spice. The notes list looks very different from the end result. Sherylnd is right, this does remind me of an upscale department store. Clean clothes and suede handbags. The perfume department is just around the corner, and someone just sprayed something with a lot of amber. My only gripe is that it's a very quiet fragrance, but not everything has to be loud. If I want something with a similar vibe but more stamina, I can spray By The Fireplace.

Sweeted Oud is a lovely fragrance and an enjoyable – hold on... We’re getting new information... Beg your pardon, but we’re informed it is, in fact, “Sueded” Oud, not Sweatered or I-Swear-It’s-Oud as reported. Goofing aside, this IS lovely. A bright, smiling aromatic cypress for the first few hours, the corners of which are softly sweet. At about 3 hours, it pulls over and changes drivers. The florals take the wheel, but the earthier/heavier notes are the tires, keeping it on the road. Throughout the day – and I’m still catching wisps after 10 hours! – it maintains a charming, calming, energizing effect. Not a projector. More of a View-Master. Which I kinda always loved.

Took some getting used to but I quite like it now. I’m used to citrusy, green, and woody scents so this is quite out of my box. I was initially terrified by the praline note, but it had such amazing reviews so I had to get it. The very opening is quite harsh but after one minute it settles, and then it’s just so soft, rich, the tiniest bit sweet, I kept getting back to it and sniffing my wrist. The oud is very soft and nuanced, not dark at all, just a creamy richness. Overall this doesn’t smell perfume-y on me at all, more like a skin scent but better sort of vibe. It smells posh, if that makes any sense... way out of my comfort zone but I like it!

Training wheels for those who want to test drive an Oud fragrance... This is a warm, sweet and woody scent. Initial spray is a little sharp and slightly fruity but it quickly dies down to the heart of woods and very quiet oud. I do get some rose with it and after a few hours, it settles to a rose/amber/woodsy skin scent. Silage is small but that's ok and the longevity is about average. For those looking for an oud/woods fragrance that isn't knock out in your face oily-resin as some tend to be, this is one to check out.

I REALLY like this when it first goes on, and for about the first hour after applying. It's a lovely incense, light oud fragrance - I even get the kick from the pepper. But it's just too weak for me to consider buying a full bottle. I am sure there are other fragrances out there that smell similar to the top notes of this one, but carry through to the drydown. This fragrance is just too expensive for how it performs. Nice smell, though - clean, but like clean earth, not clean soap. I'm impressed by that.

I had built this up quite a bit in my head based on the note breakdown and I am both disappointed AND pleasantly surprised by what it turned out to be. On my skin it shows up as a very soft, bright floral with the teensiest bit of warmth and sweetness, as well as a soft whisper of oud, but unfortunately, without a hint of suede. I had really expected more of a clean leather-y feel but I guess my skin chemistry won't make that happen with this one. Oh well. Still a banging everyday wear though!

This stuff is pretty much Dolce & Gabbana's Velvet Desert Oud at 1/6th the price with 1/2 the performance. A soft, smoky suede on top of a light, dusty oud. It's a very likable oud, not too strong or medicinal. Very nice fragrance that unfortunately suffers from incredibly poor performance. Only lasted a couple hours on my skin, with light projection at that, strange considering this is an EDP. If they amped it up I would probably buy it, but as it is, I don't think it's worth the price.

Something in this smells just like the non-acetone nail polish remover I use and I can't get past it. It's a bit sour and acidic (like vinegar) which I feel may be from the pimento rather than the oud. I purchased my bottle in January so it has sat in my collection for some time and it hasn't made a difference in the scent experience. Once the scent settles on skin, it smells like a high end spa. This wears very soft on me while lasting only a few short hours.

A very nice scent! "Masculine", without being "manly", if that makes sense? Woody and musky, and slightly smoky, like being on a hike in the forest and going back to a rustic cabin. I don't detect any flowers, but maybe they come out in warmer weather? (It's wintery cold today.) I totally get how this could remind people of "By the Fireplace": imagine a more rustic, non-sweet version of that, with lighter smoke and more woods. I only wish it lasted longer.

I blind bought this based on the reviews and the notes. Plus, I got a super price. I am not disappointed. This is a warm, silky oud scent. The suede, oud and incense notes stand out to me. Very well blended. Often times I find incense overpowers all the other notes. In this scent the incense melds with all the other notes, rather than being overwhelming. I just wish the scent lasted longer. This is a great base for scent layering.

Looking at the name "CLEAN Sueded Oud" I thought it was going to be a joke, but turned out alright :) It actually smells like an oud fragrance, and not the nutty kind that I'm often uncomfortable with! I see a lot of popular names thrown around here, but to me the semi-sweet suede aspect reminds me of Tuscan Leather the most (just a tiny hint), or like a Westernized meek & polite version of Oudh Al Junaid.

For as many notes that are listed, I only get 3 on my skin: oud, musk, and leather. This smells very luxurious for Clean Reserve fragrance, well done and very smooth. Soft and not huge sillage, but I prefer that in fragrance, I don't want to smell you unless I'm close to you. While I appreciate this scent and can see some women pulling this off, I would prefer this on a man.

This smells so clean and airy. I get an ambergris note, not quite amber. It's so lovely and perfect for that clean girl vibe. It's light, inoffensive, and youthful. But the performance sucks. You have to douse yourself in this stuff, and even then, you're lucky to get a couple hours of performance. I would not buy this again but will continue to wear til the last drop.

All The reviews pretty much said it. It’s like that fireplace perfume but u can wear it in hot humid weather. I am unimpressed since I’m in cool crisp autumn (warmish days) but I would definitely take this to 90 or higher degree places especially with humidity. I regret not taking The CLEAN line overseas with me earlier. Oh well life goes on

This is fascinating; a clean and woody interpretation of an ambery & animalic musk. Soft, a little sweet, powdery, feels surprisingly soothing on the skin. I don't detect an obvious oud, but the animalic aspects can be thought of as oudy if feeling generous Works best in transitioning weather, I'd also wear this to sleep all year round.

Really REALLY close copy of Dolce & Gabbana’s Velvet Desert Oud. At about 1/10th the price ($52 at Jomashop), I don’t really get the oud in either one, but if you want a soft, sensual suede scent, Sueded Oud is a no-brainer
