White Fig & Bourbon

This is, hands down, one of my favorite fragrances of 2019. It's beautifully balanced and v. wearable, with an absolutely intoxicating scent. Speaking of intoxicating, the "bourbon" in the name (referring to the vetiver), has a double meaning to me, as I find this scent quite boozy. Maybe a rum top note should be included?

I blind bought this and have used it quite a few times, but it is one of those that I find very difficult to review because it is so unique and hard to describe. I normally don't care for dividing my scents into seasons but this really has a fall and winter vibe! White Fig & Bourbon is very potent. Two sprays is all I can handle and even that is a bit overwhelming. It starts off spicy and heavy, with a very strong bourbon note. I don't recognize the vetiver as I normally smell vetiver and that is how I feel about most notes in this perfume (ulike most Clean scents I've tried, this is far more complex and the notes play on each other and meld together). It is spicy and woody, slight burns my nostrils. If you expect a tea perfume you might be dissapointed. This is sultry and an in front of the fireplace scent. First time I wore it I went for a drive right after applying. Immideately caught myself thinking I would surely have to take an alcohol test if I was pulled over. Very unique and quite beautiful, but I am not sure if it's a bit too much for me

I blind bought this and was very surprised over how much the smell reminded me of the heavy smoke from the incense sticks. It's not unpleasant per se, but it kinda becomes a more masculine performing smell, less unisex. I was definitely expecting it to be sweeter and have a more prominent fig and bourbon note, which this perfume has, but I'd just love it to be stronger. Very good performance, fits the winter season as it develops to be slightly warm after a while, and as previous reviews mention, it's a very special fragrance. You definitely want to give it a sniff before purchasing a whole bottle.

On me, the bourbon in the beginning is striking and strong, so much so that I can't smell any of the other notes. However, after the dry down and a small waiting period, I am left with a light fig scent. It doesn't have great sillage or lasting power on me, but it still enjoy it because of the unique combination of scents. I recommend trying this one as a sample and really testing the lasting power for yourself. It's easy to get carried away by the opening of this one because it is so impressive, but make sure the dry down is something you truly will enjoy before purchasing.

Definitely one of the most unique scents I’ve experienced this year (2019). The pepper blasted me and the bourbon vetiver had its back 100% so that was a nice way to wake up this morning when I sprayed it but I’m still on the fence on whether I actually think it’s wearable (for me personally). It’s aromatic, spicy, woodsy and sweet all at once but I feel like it’s missing something warm and steady in its core to keep me hooked. Interesting for sure, though. I’ll keep it around for now.

A really nice fragrance. Initially, the scent reminded me of a slightly rotting apple. However, it dries down to a much more pleasant, almost shampoo-like scent, although the bourbon note is strong. Lovely for a dinner party with friends.

I fear I am amongst the few who quite dislike this scent. It smells like a hangover to me, the morning after a big night out when the perfume you wore to the club has started to mingle with that very particular alcohol tinged sweat, the drinks that were spilled on you while you were dancing, and the cheap hand soap you used at that strangers house before you crept out at 3am to go back to your own bed. The fig (which was the draw for me) is rotten rather than bright or green or rich and sweet, and I’m struggling to pick it out over the bourbon which, as others have mentioned, is very pungent. I do like a bourbon note when it captures that aromatic, light, vaporous aspect, but this is definitely spills and dried bourbon, where the molasses like sweetness has taken over. The magnolia note in the back adds screechiness rather than creaminess, and the tea, bergamot, and black pepper is totally absent. Overall, this fragrance is ideal in theory, but execution is heavy and very one (unappealing) note.

This, to me is THAT earth-witchy scent. Working the wildly abundant, end-of-summer garden - the full spectrum of green to ripe to overripe fruits and greens mixed with the dried, browned stalks from July's harvest. A little wet dirt, the sexy forest floor-y vetiver and a sweet, boozy element that feels like it should be sticky but turns quite airy - i'm guessing the prune. Like a prairie witch working in that garden and a bear comes out of nowhere and she can just LOOK at it and send it off with an understanding. Like that! Oh my god - unique and really lovely! 5min later: I get the Nirvana Rose comparison. This is ever so slightly frutier and high-plains-in-the-full-sun-y, growing and harvesting plant magic before autumn rituals. NR is black linen cloak in the cool shade of heavy forest doing balanced deeds.

This one was a lovely surprise! This is my favorite type of vetiver, it dries down really strikingly and lovely. Also a great option for unique fig-tea scent lovers. Of the ones I have tested, this is my favorite of the Avant Garden collection.

The name of this is pretty spot on- I get mostly fig and bourbon. When first sprayed the bourbon is very strong and maybe a bit off putting but once it dries down it’s quite nice. I think this would be great for fall and winter.
