Lily of the Beach

That week or two when spring is tumbling into summer. I like this one better than I expected. The creaminess of the lily and coconut complement each other in a way I haven’t smelled before, though I’ll have to try some of the ones other reviewers have suggested are similar. I love a mega lily, such as Donna Karan Gold, but this has its place when it’s getting too hot for all that. I just wish it radiated a little farther as it faded to skin within two hours. Edited to add: this is my favorite of the 2022 My Happy set. Second favorite is Cocoa and Cashmere, third favorite is Baby Bouquet. Indigo Mist and Cookie and Peony Bouquet smell fine but not my style. Gave those away. Lily of the beach shares similarities with Beach Walk, Eau de Soleil Blanc, and Bronze Goddess, so if you like those and like lilies, this one is worth a try. Edit: LOTB lasts longer than BG and is more buttery/creamy than BW. Now that I've smelled SB, I think it's most similar to that out of all the beachy frags. I only had the mini of this from the set, so I was keeping it in my purse to top up any beachy summer frag. But I kept finding myself reaching for it over my other frags. I wish the bottle was prettier but yep, I think I'll be buying a FB of this one.

This is the essence of summer unless you are looking for that sunscreen vibe which this does not possess. Coconut, salty and sweet. It's tropical mixed with the scent of salty beach air or water; it makes me picture when your hair is all wet from the salty air blowing in your hair which is compounded when you get out of the water with your hair wet. So it's a combination of salt water and salty air (and tangles, but also when dry the softest hair ever). I believe I also smell the frangipani as it's a a smell I also detect in Dolce Garden which also has frangipani in it. I love this for awhile after I spray it, and at some point it becomes a like. I'll need to look at the clock in order to say when that is that it starts to become a like. I wonder if it's a revealing of more notes. There is something edible about this, maybe like a macaroon (coconut kind, not French macaron) that has lots of sea salt? Maybe the edible property is what bothers me. I like sweet and gourmand perfumes, so idk. I guess I'll have to keep trying it to be able to pin it down.

Very similar to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, a bit more creamy coconut and vanilla and less tiare flower, which I like, but it's quiet and short lived, compared to Bronze Goddess which is a beast of a perfume. If you like it but need something with lasting power and sillage, go with Bronze Goddess, you can pick up a bottle fairly cheap off ebay. Soft coconut with a little tiare flower and rich white flowers. Very pleasant, with s long clean powdery vanilla basenote that gets too much if you overspray for those beachy topnotes. If you want to overspray for the top notes, Bronze Goddess is a better bet. Resold eventually as it has a faint chemical note that I something find annoying. When I'm in the mood for a beach scent I much prefer Bronze Goddess

This is one of my favourite perfumes and is an easy reach when I go on holiday. This was an impulse purchase from the Clinique counter as I smelt the Happy range as I walked past on my was t to purchase something else. This one stood out to me immediately as it gave me pure beach vibes and made me think of holidays at every sniff. At 15ml I find it a little pricy for what you get per ml but I can overlook it because the scent just works for me. It travels easily and I find myself reaching for it over other fragrances I own. I’d definitely repurchase, it’s pure sunshine in a bottle.

This is what I wanted Lust for Sun to smell like! Lily of the Beach is the perfect beach scent and smells very tropical, creamy, lush and way more expensive than it costs. I would say that it is the best tropical designer scent but there are two drawbacks with Lily of the Beach. First, it only comes in 15 ml bottle. Second, as addictive as it smells like, it quite a subdued scent. If it perform better, I wouldn’t need any other tropical scent but this! Highly underrated! Never heard anyone talking about this online.

This is the perfect summer scent, nostalgic of a bygone era of fruity teen scents. This reminds me very specifically of when I was not allowed to wear perfume yet but my younger stepsister was, so when I was staying over there she'd let me sneak spritzes of the flankers on her dresser, which were Coty Exclamation and Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth. I'd smell like a cloud of fruity flowers at the mall and at the beach and I LOVED IT.

This is yummy, I can't stop sniffing it! Tropical island goddess, covered in sweet coconut cream and frangipani flowers. Sunny, happy scent. Great projection. I love it! Edit: Lasting power is poor, I got four perfumes from this My Happy line and they all last 2 hours at most. It's a pity, because they are not that cheap and the scents are really beautiful!

Lily of the Beach is a summery suntan lotion-type scent. Coconut, tropical flowers, and warm amber. This is perfectly fine to wear on its own but I also have Peace & Jasmine from the My Happy line. I layered the two and the resulting scent retains the warmth of Lily of the Beach and adds more citrus and spiciness from Peace & Jasmine. Fun!

Just a beautiful creamy lily scent. Such a cheerful spring/summer smell. I do wear it during the winter & fall when I need something to cheer me up.

At first blast I really like this. Then as it dries down I’m not as sure. I feel like this doesn’t need the vanilla. There are a lot of rich creamy buttery notes already in this fragrance that dominate the scent. In fact this has frangipani, ylang ylang, and tiara which are all very creamy rich deep smooth tropical flowers. Then you add coconut which is silky laconic and sweet as well. Then milky sandalwood and deep amber notes. It’s verging on cloying for me. The coconut isn’t like a fresh coconut it’s that thick rich coconut oil smell. It doesn’t need that vanilla and I’m not sure the Lily in this is the right note. Lilies are very strong pollenated flowers and in this it clashes a little bit. It’s kind of like adding lemon juice to butterscotch. It curdles the richness instead of cutting through it. I’m getting a lot of amber here. This fragrance is surprisingly heavy and not like a light airy beach scent. I would have chosen a different white floral maybe and given it more citrus to brighten it up added some salt or something to lift it. It supposedly has citrus but it’s almost non existent. This isn’t bad but there are way better beach scents out there.

I'm doing my best to purchase a coconut-hinted summer scent that isn't artificial-smelling and doesn't break the bank. I really want Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc but this is definitely a solid, really pleasant fragrance to have before I make that investment. I read some reviews of Happy- Lily of the Beach on ULTA, and many customers think that Clinique could have added more coconut. However, on my skin the coconut is very conspicuous--just how I wanted it :) Vanilla, Sandalwood, Amber, and Lily x10 are also identifiable. Silage is pretty impressive. I don't know about longevity because I took a shower three hours after I sprayed it. I will say I could smell it all the way up to my shower. It's a great addition that fits in your purse. Definitely makes me feel like I'm radiating sunshine! I honestly can't stop thinking about it and will probably go back to Ulta this afternoon to purchase it.

This smells a bit like sunscreen to me, definitely has a beachy vibe to it. Besides that it’s just floral, so I guess the name is fitting ‘Lily of the Beach’😅 I like it, but it’s nothing very remarkable. I think the coconut saves it, otherwise it would’ve been pretty boring. I would say it’s a safe blind buy if you like floral, beachy scents. It’s very affordable but I guess you get what you pay for with this one, it’s not very noticeable. I usually layer with it.

This perfume makes me happy! On me the tiara flower, lily, coconut and sandalwood are dominant. I actually get very little frangipani or citrus. I would say tiara and coconut are the dominant notes on my skin. The reason I enjoy this perfume so much is that it isnt citrus heavy. I dislike coconut mixed with lime particularly, so many of the summer offerings are not to my taste. I was delighted to discover this one and find I dont even notice any citrus.

This is a very gorgeous scent! It doesn't last a very long time, but it's a good price and a good size to put in your purse. This is the kind of floral that always surprises me as someone who says they don't like floral fragrances. The lily of the valley is gorgeous. It does have a beachy scent as well. It's very fresh and cute in my opinion. I don't have this but I've tried it out and wore it for a day and i would purchase this.

i adore this scent, it's very nostalgic to me and i remember getting a small bottle in high school. i loved the scent then and i still adore it now. it's sweet and floral without being overpowering, a gorgeous scent for the summer time. it's reminiscent of sunscreen and a refreshing coconut popsicle on the beach, and the florals add a nice freshness to the scent. 100% my favorite from this line :)

A lot of these Clinique happy scents have a perfume-y undertone to them. This is nice but doesn't last long. It is beachy, as the name suggests. A lot like Alien Goddess Intense but with more of a white floral perfume-y thing happening, and it is not intense or amber-y like that one either, ha, ha. I still really like it. I'd have to bring it along and respray!

I actually really like this floral and beachy combo. The lily is creamy and mixes well with the coconut and yellow florals. I think it’s a nice balance without smelling too much like sunscreen. As with many of the fragrances from this line the longevity is poor and lasts two hours max.

Another that I absolutely adore because I love all things coconut and I especially love the scent of sunscreen and this is exactly that. It's powerful for all of an hour, and then, unfortunately, I need a respray. If it lasted longer, I would love it all the more.

Beautiful creamy tropical white floral with a touch of coconut. Lovely scent profile but sadly has abysmal performance.

Great beachy sunscreen type scent. Coconut and Tiare flower, reminds me of monoi oil.

I'm a fan of the beachy genre but this doesn't do much for me. I got a headache twinge which usually makes for an immediate no. For the price it's okay, but comes off as a cheaper, more chemical-laden Bronze Goddess. Kinda body spray territory. It's more noticeably floral and while the coconut is there, it's not a rich one. Like $3.99 tanning oil from Walmart. Nobody's likely expecting much in the way for performance here, so it might be okay if someone is just looking for an easy hot day frag.

Begins as a yellow and white flower bomb. As it dries you can start to smell coconut and vanilla, but it’s definitely of the synthetic type and creates that typical ‘sunscreen scent’ flower-coconut-vanilla base. I even get a bit of a salty vibe, and it reminds me of Mancera holidays, although I haven’t directly compared them yet. This could be slightly more yellow floral. Nice enough, but more of the same, nothing to make this version stand out.

I really like this but it gives me a headache. Very strong floral on me and it does smell so good and feels familiar and comforting with the coconut. i have to use this sparingly and so have had this for years. the composition stayed the same throughout which is nice to be able to count on when i do wear it I don't get sunscreen vibes from this. Just tropical floral

This smells identical to the Garnier Marvelous hair Oil in the yellow container but more peppery in case anyone was wondering

Omg, I cannot stand this. I'm sorry. My opinion is completely biased since lily isn't one of my favorite notes. I don't know if I'm getting frangipani, maybe a little coconut. Previously I tried tilly by rosie jane which is also supposed to be a tropical lily scent, but I didn't enjoy it. This just makes my stomach churn. Like it makes me gag. It starts getting a little vanillic and more tolerable after a few hours but it's still a no. And you most definitely wouldn't be able to pull this off in the nighttime. I will say that it is good for the price but who knows, white florals tend to strike me as more expensive.

Not a fan of this one. It smells like a mix of white florals and gummy bears. I don't get any coconut, just that very sweet, fruity, chemical gummy bear scent with strong white florals over top: a really weird combination. It smells inexpensive (which isn't necessarily bad).

I do not know how in God's name this is compared to Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia. No way no how. Not even close. Lily of the Beach is a nasty coconut nightmare. The coconut here just overwhelms all of the florals that are choking to death on mountains of coconut. I am really picky about coconut/tropical perfumes because many times they come off extremely artificial, and quite saccharine. This is one of the worst offenders of this genre I have ever smelled and that is saying something. This makes Alien Goddess smell like a good perfume and that is crap. Lily of the Beach is cheap, fake, headache inducing and just plain gross. If you want a good coconut beach perfume that is wearable give Dolce and Gabbana's, The Only One Intense a try. I got that because my husband loves beach perfumes and while I am not a big fan of the genre The Only One Intense does this type of perfume right. If you like smelling like the cheapest sunscreen at the dollar store, then this would be right up your ally.

Update: Actual dupe of this is Gold Hearts by KKW. I just realized it when I was smelling Lily of the Beach, which is somewhat sweeter than Gold Hearts (which gives me J by Jennifer beach vibes). Lily of the Beach still gives me VS Supermodel vibes but when compared to Gold Hearts their coconut note is nearly identical to my nose. Starts off as a light floral with a tropical vibe and then ends up smelling like Supermodel by VS or Hidden Fantasy by Britney. I went to my vanity and smelled both of these and then my arm after 5 hrs of wearing this and it smelled identical. Initial spray of all 3 perfumes I compared is slightly different, Hidden Fantasy is more orange, fruity, smells like Christmas, VS Supermodel is abit more cloying like berries and champagne and the Lily of the Beach is their tropical sister with an intense Frangipani and white floral presence which fades away in about 20 mins on my skin, and then it smells like Supermodel. I really like the white floral and coconut combo, its very unique in this perfume and i havent smelled it before, just wish the flowers lasted longer cuz i didnt need more of these champagne smelling perfumes (Supermodel). I wore it in 48-60 degree weather and i think i could wear it all year round.

I just want to mention a new scent that joined this big happy coconut-tiare flower flower family. So I bought Silver of Sun, the new VS mist and I smell similarities with Lily of the Beach. Both have coconut, bergamot and "warmth" as Silver of Sun states which translates to amber. In the same league imo is Wonderlust Sublime by MK (which has tiare flower too - it gives a very beachy coconut vibe in perfumes). There is something like orange blossom in Silver of Sun just like in Wonderlust Sublime: waxy, tart, but also something like tiare flower along with the coconut and bergamot so Im getting the Lily of the Beach vibe from Silver of Sun and also the Wonderlust Sublime's warm essence. Lily of the Beach like Ive said is also pretty identical to Hearts Gold KKW (coconut, orange blossom, tiare flower). So Silver of Sun joined this happy sweet, ambery, beachy family, but it has its very own identity as a scent, its not a dupe of these, I just smell the similar notes.

This smells really nice. Tropical. I get mostly coconut and tiare. While the scent is great I wish there was more time spent on quality and making the scent last. I can't imagine anyone getting strong silage from this EDT. I got it yesterday & sprayed into the box top and it was watery and weak. I've had perfumes do that but blossom on the skin so I wasn't to disappointed yet. I have worn it today, Its only noon and I've resprayed twice. Still no one can smell it. I can only smell it if I put my nose down to my shirt. There are loads of beachy, coconut, tiare type scents that do have good performance that I don't see this as worth even $25.

Umm I love this. If you like tropical scents, slight sunscreen vibe, and the delicious floral notes it has you will LOVE this! It’s good!! I’m so happy I didn’t listen to the bad reviews because so far I’m very pleased. Usually I pick out synthetic nuances easily even in much pricier fragrances but this one I really don’t get much if any at all... I will say it’s right in my scent category that appeals to me, so again if you like those I mentioned definitely worth the try 100%. Lily of the beach is a solid name for it in my opinion.

So it does start out a bit synthetic - but I'm not sure why this gets so much hate, because to me it's a lovely beachy, coconutty, yellow-flower blend. You MUST love coconut to like this, yes. But the frangipani is there, and so is the creamy lily. It feels like your favorite sunscreen, with a hint of hairspray (the lily). This is a 100% beachy, poolside fragrance. Safe choice for summer.

I loved a Bath & Body Works scent called Golden Sunflower, but they stopped selling it and I was left with a very small spray. I started looking for a similar scent and came across Lily of the Beach. This is a sweet, suntanned coconutty summer day. It's not sunscreen-y and has a beautiful solar floral composition that FEELS like you have the heat of the sun on your face.

Reminds me of alien goddess for sure, beautiful! More floral to me with a more yellow-floral quality perfectly matching the bottle color. That coconut is smoooth what a gorgeous fragrance. Edit: I got my mom this to layer with her Creed Virgin Island Water, smells incredible!!

Love love love. This is the essence of this genre. Without the bitterness of Soleil Blanc, less florals than Beachwalk, less coconut/creaminess than Sunkissed Hibiscus. An unexpected fave. Is it sophisticated? not really. But super approachable and feminine.

A lovely warm summer in a bottle! With delicate lily sweetened by the frangipani and vanilla, so well blended with the other fruity florals for a beach like scent 😍 Tropical with a smooth creamy drydown! Delightful!!

I just blind bought this and I wish I hadn’t. There is a powdery note in this that I don’t like. I am not sure what it is exactly. I was looking for something similar to Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance and this is not.

I wear this during summer and on beach vacations -- no where else. But it's great. Even during very hot days, it melts beautifully into a light, floral coconut. Like sunshine in a bottle.

Clinique is owned by Estee LAUDER AND AFTER SMELLING Aromatics and almost every ruined perfume at Lauder , it is hard for me to trust their products . Worst reformulations EVER .
