1872 For Women

I saw the brand Clive Christian today and accidentally picked 1872 up and tried it on test paper. It turned out to be my favourite among all those Clive Christian's perfumes I tried today, which is a surprise because I had higher expectations towards others. 1872 is a fragrance that I love every moment from its start till its end and it is a rare case. I can't even tell which phase I love more as they have their own uniqueness and complexity. As someone mentioned before, it is a partly fruity, partly floral, and partly woody fragrance. But it is not simply a fruity one. Neither is it a floral nor woody one. The three parts are so well blended that you cannot separate them from each other and this is where its complexity and uniqueness come from. The fruity notes bestow it sweetness, while the floral notes give it a hint of freshness, and the woody notes blend them together and create a sweet and warm aroma. At first sniff, the freshness of lily-of-the-valley came to me with a bit bergamot and violet. In fact they are too well blended that I could not tell what notes were there when I smelled it in department store. Not until I saw the ingredient list that I knew what they were. After the dry down, the warmness and sweetness of sandalwood, violet and rose appeared with a prominent smell of moss, reducing its sweetness and leading it to a sweet but dry and fresh way with those floral notes. The floral notes not only provide the freshness but also the sweetness. Flowers like jasmine, orchid and lily-of-the-valley create the freshness whilst other flowers like rose and osmanthus enhance the sweetness. Moreover, cedar and musk plays a vital role at the dry down with some other dry, cool and clean woody notes such as patchouli and moss, creating a clean and airy base with a touch of fruity sweetness by pineapple, blueberry and lemon. The scent of this fragrance changes from time to time and it keeps changing even it is in the same stage, ie. opening, the transit and the dry down. I put the test paper underneath my nose and detected a sweet and warm hue at first. I continued smelling it for a while and it became the freshness of flowers and clean dry wood! And later it turned to another smell again! I don't know how it happens and the only thing I can do is to admire the unbeatable perfumery skills of the perfumists. I fall in love with this perfume so much albeit I just knew it today. Indeed it is a pity that there are so few fragrances in the market nowadays have such a complexity and depth in the olfactory world. Another point worth mentioning is that I can agree no more in the opinion that it should be saved for special occasions with long silk dresses and a vintage/classical look. It is not an everyday scent and it is not for modern and chic style of dressing. It would best suit a voluptuous mature noble lady in the lavish Victorian era wearing posh and extravagant silk robes, exagerate and ostentatious feather hat, as well as fancy and eye-catching jewelrys dancing in a grand ball held in the sumptuous hall of the court and living an opulent lifestyle. P.S. I didn't even bother to ask for the price since I knew it would be super expensive and not affordable to me now though I know it is worth its price tag considering its quality. And I didn't even bother to ask because I knew some day I would save enough money to buy myself a bottle. It is such a masterpiece!

Something which never was my style, a scent profile which I was thinking to be totally redundant and something which I wouldn’t enjoy. One year ago, after loving so many potent and very unique perfumes I began to crave more gentle and refined scents as well and I got obsessed with fragrances where citruses play an important role. I thought that this would never happen! Until today I haven’t found many clearly citrusy scents that please me but thos one, Burlington 1819 | Roja Parfum , Ultima Storia | Thomas De Monaco and Parade (Eau de Parfum) | Celine have won my heart and respect. This beautiful, classy, sophisticated scent is a mix of citruses and flowers in a woody base with white musk and a hint of Oakmoss. Some fruits balance the sharpness of citruses. It’s clean and fresh yet soft and gentle. The blend is complex and harmonious. I think I will match this scent with a totally white outfit - pure white lace top, blazer and loose formal pants. That mix is utterly luxurious. I have worn this at the gym as well, it works well there. I’m going to comment following facts which are * From brand’s website. •Citrus notes are interspersed with the sugary elixir of Pineapple and Blueberry. * > I don’t detect any sugary flavors and Blueberry is totally hidden. •Soft, velvety petals from 170 Rose de Mai Flowers make up each drop, joining a heady mix of Osmanthus, Jasmine, Purple Violet, Freesia, Orchid and Lily of the Valley. * > There is nothing heady in this scent. It’s delicate, delightful and easy to wear. •Warm, earthy notes of Patchouli and hand-harvested Oakmoss combine with Sandalwood, Cedar wood and Musk. * > I think these notes might be more present in the original formula but in this new one the base is restrained yet beautifully blended. There is a subtle earthy feeling but I would call it rather airy than that kind of earthy which is created by Oakmoss and Patchouli. The base is clean as well so Musk is gentle. Men don’t be scared to try this one as well: It’s absolutely unisex and I think it’s better than men’s counterpart. If thinking some score this could be 9 instead of 8 but it’s just too generic even if the quality is great, it’s natural smelling, pleasant and it’s harmoniously blended. I get the references to CKs One, but to me CKs One is more aquatic than 1872. 1872 is more complex and refined. Have owned 1872 now for several years. Of the three that come in the traveler's collection, 1872 is my favorite and I feel, the most versatile. I reserved it for special occasions for the longest. Recently started experimenting with it outside of fancy, special occasions. 1872 is very versatile. Currently it is the dog days of summer and I find, whether outdoors in the heat or indoors in air-conditioning, 1872 is pleasant and pretty. It does not overpower, and it is long-lasting. Upon initial application, for me, it starts out very citrusy, but the drydown is a tad bit sweet,! floral and fruity. I do detect notes of musk and wood, but they are not predominate on me. I would describe 1872 as a clean, fresh, fruity floral. I am comfortable in it during the day or at night and I am wearing it more frequently than just for special occasions. I would wear it much more often, but the price is prohibitive. I do not consider it one of my romantic, cuddly fragrances. To me 1872 is my classy, impressive, stand out in a distinct but not overpowering way perfume. I think it is an appropriate fragrance for the professional woman, in the office, at luncheons and daytime parties, church. Evening dates to upscale restaurants and clubs. I've found occasions to wear it year round.

A friend of mine gave me a mini version of it as a gift and I love it. It is a lovely floral fougère or in other words: It does smell a little bit of barbershop and shaving products. However it is definitely more of a unisex fougère. I wore it yesterday and I didn't feel like I was wearing a very masculine perfume. It has a herbal, green, clean feel to it. It stays with you for the whole day without projecting too much. It's rather inoffensive. Again, it's like you've been to some sort of spa, where they used herbal ointments. You feel clean, but not airy fresh clean. More herbal, healthy clean...difficult to explain. I can see how some people would call it "old money" scent as there is something timeless and chic about it. But it feels more English countryside, tweed, tartan, dark leather sofa chic. And funnily enough that's what I wore yesterday when felt like this perfume: I wore a tweed trousers, earthy coloured top and a plaid scarf. This perfume is basically that type of vibe. I don't think that its like CK One at all. CK is more of a fresh and airy scent. Whilst 1872 is a heavier herbal scent. I do say test it before buying as it is rather expensive and possibly not a safe blind buy for women as it's leaning towards unisex.

Again I thought I'd reviewed this way back but obviously not! My girlfriend wore this the other night (I got her the set for Christmas...I know...I know... what a guy!;) and I'd forgotten just how much I liked 1872. Couldn't put my finger on exactly what was going on or the similarity to other fragrances I was encountering. 1872 has the sweetness of rose and white floral elements jasmine and lily of the valley without any of the negatives. It has an engaging fruitiness pineapple and berries. Musk, sandalwood, patchouli and cedar make up what is a complex and woody floral scent which is feminine but not overly so. I absolutely love this and no matter what naysayers might say about Clive Christian, the house delivers on quality in almost every respect. This lasts and lasts on her skin and is yet more magic, changing slightly each time I smell it and that's the mark of a true masterpiece in my opinion. I like the Men's version but this one is a great gift for that special lady in your life.

This is a perfume that is best to wear at least a dozen times before trying to describe what it smells like, so I’m not doing justice to the complexity of this scent after only two wearings. I’m a fan of floral-citrus perfumes, and 1872 is a very good performer, lasting several hours before fading to a skin scent. Read below if you are wanting a note breakdown. I like all the stages of development but the middle is my favorite. 1872 has a zen, calm, yoga retreat feeling to it. I can easily imagine I’m in Bali or some other warm topical location. Not that the scent is exotic, but it has a clean feeling that would cut through other strong smells like sweat and tropical flowers. Hard to believe this formula is 147 years old. I’m not a big fan of vintage scents but I love 1872. If you are not a fan of masculine scents, then it may not be for you (especially the opening). Will enjoy wearing my 5ml decant throughout the next month or two.

To my nose, 1872 Women is composed of the best quality of ingredients that many people have never encountered or appreciated. There are loads of naturals in this fragrance and it has excellent longevity and moderate sillage on my cooler than average skin. It is a very complex fragrance with the different notes harmonizing each other although they are subtle most of the time. 1872 Women is for those who appreciate fragrances with superb quality and willing to pay the high price instead of those who look for good quality fragrances in more affordable price range. I think it is all personal taste and preference in liking a fragrance; however, there should be no denial on the fact that 1872 is a well made fragrance with excellent quality ingredients.

I'm a sucker for citrus notes during the summer, and this is one of my absolute favorites. I see a lot of people saying it's "boring, mass appealing, etc" but here's my take on that. This was around long before any of the dupes/copycats. The fact there's so many fragrances made after the fact in the same resemblance says all it needs to. This is a well liked, desirable scent. Sometimes I like tried and true and with the quality and history behind this house I much prefer having the OG in my lineup than a cheaper copycat. I strongly urge anyone wanting to buy this do so from a trusted source though as this has one of the highest production of fakes on the market.

Simply gorgeous citrus top notes - my girlfriend and I were looking at various niche brands the other day in Fortnum and Mason when we happened upon the Clive Christian counter. Wow - what a beautiful citrus woody offering this fragrance is - I've had to "I want it" in order to remind myself to pick up a bottle (a small 30ml one - this stuff is outrageously expensive!) for my girlfriend's birthday. I tried the male version and my girlfriend the "female" one. To be honest with you, the "female" one smelt so much better. Beautiful, subtle, fresh, citrus and green with a small 'G'.

It smells very classy to me. A gentle, nature-y scent. I don’t personally smell the citrus as stronger than anything else as the votes had led me to believe, I smell herbs mainly with the bitter citrus (not the fruit, more like the rind) second strongest. After waiting a bit I smell some light florals poking out but not strongly at all, along with gentle wood and oakmoss notes. Although it’s labeled as “for women” a man could easily wear this also

Super beautiful opening, the only word I can describe is "lush" I feel like I'm surrounded by dewey fresh flowers and herbs with a mossy backbone, extremely classy and instant mood booster, I put it as a 60/40 feminine scent mostly because of the flowers but I don't think its hard to wear as a guy. I get only about 3 hours with this before its gone but that first hour is gorgeous, possibly might be bottle worthy possibly not... more testing

1872 at my neck and chest, + Diptyque's Eau 34 (White cap) on arms. Enjoying this combo very much. Soft, subtle, clean, slightly green, floral. Wearing it to bed and will test drive it tomorrow during the day in public. Desperately trying to find a unique Spring/Summer scent. maybe this is it.

This is The Perfume of aristocratic ladies of old, wrapped in long silky dresses and radiating an almost surreal scent, partly fruity, partly floral, partly woody - and yet neither fruity, nor floral, nor woody. What a pity much perfume industry today have lost this class and harmony.

Fantastic , inteligent scent. Totally my dream. A floral, fruity Citrus that combines clean, crisp top notes with the intense bouquet of Rose de Mai, one of the rarest ingredients in nature. A beautifully fresh and familiar sensation for the wearer.

This has been my daily go-to perfume and everyone I meet make a comment on how great I smell. You need very little and it lasts all day. I just love this but not the price. I should not have this as my daily smell, but I just can't help myself!

Clean ,soapy floral inoffensive every day scent perfect for any occasion and i don't know why they called this one feminine its perfectly unisex in my opinion, good longevity and projection for clean fragrance

Very surprised to see Clive Cristian newly launched at the larger Shoppers Drugmart. 1872 for woman was the most suited to my current mood. It’s actual more unisex than strictly feminine which I prefer, soft, clean, herbaceous and slightly powdery but doesn’t smell expensive enough considering the high price for only 50ml. Having said that, it might be perfectly suitable for my everyday, pleasantly tolerable scent. It’s similar to the spa-like aromatic rosemary quality of Eau Ressourcante by Clarins mixed with the cotton-soft shampoo element of Bamboo Harmony. The gently spicy but powdery rosemary is my favourite, it’s almost juniper-like when combined with the green and earthy oakmoss. I love the rosemary in this, it’s setting me off into my rosemary era as I now want more. 1872 Woman is unisex and I prefer it to the men’s version but I don’t like it enough to justify the high price. Update: it lasted on my arm for a long time and I think I quite like it. I’m going back to spray on my neck and to wear it properly. Further investigation awaits, as this might just be The One. Update: after 4 sprays from the official bottle (the atomiser is a generous one that sprays big wet splats) and I still feel that it reminds me of Eau Ressourcante by Clarins and it leans a little masculine for a feminine fragrance as it’s so herbaceous and slightly aquatic. It doesn’t last too long on skin afterall (maybe 4 hours) but it lasts much longer on fabric. So I guess it’s too expensive for what it is.

Walked into Saks 5th Ave with my girlfriend the other day, they had the whole Clive Christian collection. My girlfriend wanted to sample the 1872 for women, and I was curious to see how it smelled. Its very nice and very feminine. On a test strip I instantly get baby powder and soap which is then greeted by a soft dry sandalwood and musk very similar to Diptyque's Tam Dao. To my surprise, it's dry down is comparable to Chrome Azzaro for men but softer. I actually looked up the ingredients to Chrome Azzaro for men and compared them to Clive Christian 1872 for women and according to fragrantica 9 of the 19 ingredients are identical. So in a nutshell this is like Tam Dao unisex (rose, sandalwood, musk) and Chrome azzaro mixed together. This could be great a signature for a lot of women. It's blended well and its soft enough that it could be categorized as a year round fragrance. *Longevity - 7/10 like most CC fragrances after about 4-6 hours it wears close to the skin. *Projection - 7/10 you'll get a good 6 foot radius with this until it begins to dry down after about 4-6 hours *All day, every day scent best suited for fall/winter or spring/summer

I think I've never tried a floral fruity as complex and deep as "1872". Everytime when I gaze upon a perfume with gazillion notes listed I expect a mess, so I was cautious when I applied "1872". How it evolved on my skin was a huge and pleasant surprise. See, the case with "1872" is that the notes are working together in a perfection, I can feel some of them shinning trough in some moments, but in most of the time it keeps being a masterfully blended sweet floral perfume. As far as most noticeable notes goes - I get loads of pineapple at the opening and heart, also orchid is the one flower I keep noticing due to it's 'sweet-chocolate' vibe. I must say that this was a wonderful surprise, "1872" is a masterpiece in the world of floral fruity perfumes, really marvelous, even though it might appear too much at the start, it is very feminine and elegant all the way and will not disturb you. Though I must say - "1872" is a perfume worthy of fancy parties and long dresses, this is no everyday perfume. BUT - it stayed on my skin 5 hours and was gone completely. In my book it is not acceptable nor for a 385 EUR perfume, nor for a 50 EUR one.

1872 is a fragrance I've had for two years or so. It was a gift, and I did not like it much from the start, but it has grown on me quite a bit since. I would mostly describe this as almost unisex, even if it is intended for women. At least I could picture a man wearing it as well. It is also exciting, and at least my untrained nose find it quite complex. Citrus, Wood and florals in the same bottle, and it mixes very well together. What I smell mostly would be the oakmoss, woody notes and bergamot. I am not a big fan of oakmoss (As you can see if you happen to read some of my other reviews) but here it works strangely well. I enjoy the oakmoss in fact. Lilly of the valley is another problem note for me, and even if I can smell it here it works really well in the composition. Violet is the second strongest flower I Think, but I can't smell the rose that much. Over all an exciting sniff every time I smell this, and it is quite an enjoyment to use. It is a strong fragrance, and a little goes a long way. It also lasts long on my skin.

Upon first application, it is very citrus, makes your eyes wide open! It's fresh, citrus burst is what I imagine Queen Elizabeth spritzing on after she gets her 2 pc dress suit on, and ready to meet with Prime Minister for her daily briefing. I did not find this opening suiting my likes, however it was nice. But, oh, wait for it....wait for it....The dry down is lovely. It becomes more soft and so classy. I would have named this Royal Class, because that is where it takes my mind. Right into Buckingham Palace from first spritz until 4 o'clock tea. I got all CC fragrances to try, and the only 2 I am liking is "of course" No. 1, which I can't afford, and 1872, which is more tolerable in price. If you can, I would say give this and No. 1 a try. I'm not so sure they are worthy of the cost they charge, perhaps because of the ingredients? However, I have others that are just as lovely, if not more, i.e. Gold by Amouage that lasts all day into the next morning.

For me this scent is a carbon copy of CK ONE- better yet, vice-versa considering this frag was created in 1872 as evidenced by the name........ Good job CK ONE! You pulled off the coup of the century! I have compared the note breakdowns side-by-side, but I am convinced beyond any doubt that there are several notes that they share in common.... From the opening and well into the first couple hours, these scents are IDENTICAL! Solely from this standpoint, those who shelled out full value for this juice may come away feeling railroaded.... I certainly did....! Unmistakably, it is ONLY AFTER this stage does the 1872 start to separate itself in quality, depth & superiority of blending: violet, mingled with a touch of dry Sandalwood & wild rose, gives it a sporty a modern feel.... Who would have thunk it that royalty smelled this hip & modern back in 1872..................?!?!? Ended up being a good swap 4 me!

A scent with a citrusy bite to it. Thankfully the citruses are excellently blended so it doesn't smell like Lysol. This perfume works well as a unisex scent. (My husband agreed that he would wear it too) I also enjoyed that even though 1872 has a more subtle scent it stayed on my skin all day without fading. I could even smell it on my wrists after a shower. I can't quite put my finger on what other words to use to describe 1872 besides posh and original. After reading the history of this formula it feels exclusive and like a collector's item. The history makes it an extra special scent because you can travel through time. Would I buy it? No, because it's way too expensive for me, however with this sample bottle I can pretend to be a duchess. Rank-8/10

This one smells very nice and sweet. It is not strong or overpowering on me at all. I am not sure it is worth what it costs but it does smell good. It opens on me very citrusy and fruity. I can barely smell the rose and jasmine in the middle notes as it dries. We will see how long it lasts on me as my skin tends to make all perfumes disappear. Unless something magical happens in the next few hours it is not worth the money.

I can't say that the announced May rose is too noticeable in this fragrance. I would say that the violet note is the most noticeable between the floral notes in it. But this fragrance is rather more close to mossy fragrances. It's good, polite, not sweet and even strict enough, but actually it smells not outstanding somehow for its price.

I ve got clear vintage bottle of it and compared with the modern green bottle one. The vintage is soft citrus floral on a sophisticated base. Probably the most lasting citrus fragrance I tried. The modern version is harsh, like if it’s artificial leather vs genuine leather.

Citrusy scent, light, pleasant, elegant. A hint of herbal notes subtly shifts it towards the masculine side. A classic scent that I could envision in a English countryside estate during summer or warm spring. Rather low sillage, quite fleeting.

A really nice smell but not extraordinary; fresh and very English. It fits for any occassions. More than the 30 ml I could not afford (and I am glad ;)

My friend's ex had given her a bottle of this. Brought it back from London for her. I was so excited when she said she didn't want it anymore and offered it to me with a third of the bottle remaining. And then I smelled it :/ 1872 is a clean skin scent that is easy to wear daily and is not "perfumy" at all. It's fresh, clean, musky, slightly woody, and bit earthy all at the same time. Blueberries and pineapple? No way, none here! Not a fruity fragrance at all. The only fruit to be found in this perfume is citrus maybe. I get little bursts of dried roses throughout the day. It smells like an extremely overpriced Quercus, and I find Quercus to be an overpriced version of CK1 based on the fact that when I was wearing it, someone told me I smelled like CK1. From then on all I could smell was CK1. Longevity is excellent for such a light scent, and projection is soft. Others might not notice it on you unless they give you a hug. In most cases price is totally subjective, but would you rather pay $40 for CK1 or $400 for CK1? Having the bottle is fun for the purpose of exclusivity, so I can be like, "Look at me! My perfume is $400!" But I wouldn't do that anyway, so...

Accidentally bought this instead of the men's version, I was a bit annoyed lol. My friend recommended me this and I said sure, so I bought it and thought, it's okay, it does kinda remind me of rubbing alcohol and a hospital smell but it's not a bad or annoying type of scent it's just mid for me. I told him his recommendation was bad until 1 week pasts and I decided to read the texts on the front and one word caught my attention, "feminine", and that's when it hit me I bought the wrong one. Why does Clive Christian even have super similar packagings, I mean I get that their niche but sometimes it's too similar lol, anyway it's still a great fragrance, it's just not what I really wanted.

I got a decanter of this in my christmas calender, and I know it's not aimed at men like me, but man.... What a boring as hell scent. It is very wearable and apart from a slightly overpowering dry rose in the opening it mellowed out to a very plain citrus with more mild wood. I feel this can be a good scent for the office.

I get potpourri and barber shop vibes. It reminds me of something from my childhood that was a very cheap scent - a relative's aftershave is my guess*. Not feminine to me. Not unpleasant either. Just very pedestrian. *It's CK One, like others noted. Extremely similar. Except CK one has more longevity and projection! Lol

like others have said, seems very masculine. headache inducing..... teenage male Cologne. Super bummed I purchased.

I received this as a gift a few years ago, and immediately hated it. Over the years, I kept taking it out and trying again, trying so hard to like it. I know it was terribly expensive and should smell wonderful, but it doesn't! The first blast is very sharp alcohol, very masculine. It claims to have lily of the valley, rose, and freesia, among others. I cannot smell any flower scent at all. Just a headache-inducing horrible sharp smell. I wish I could describe it. Maybe some kind of inhaler they sell for sinus infections. It has almost the same effect. Maybe I have always washed it off too soon and didn't wait long enough for the dry down. I just sprayed it on again, and this time I'll suffer through it for an hour or so. If it gets better, I'll update this review. (My eyes are starting to water.) Edit: I just thought of what it reminds me a little of--Bvulgari Mon Jasmin Noir l'eau Exquise. I looked up the notes, and for both of them the top notes are citrus, middle florals, and bottom cedar. Other things in there, too, but those are the ones in both of them.

If you told me this was Axe body spray for teenage boys, I would think wow it has improved a lot but I wouldn’t question it. Very fresh and clean, zingy citrus, invigorating, and cologne-y... think men’s body wash. ☘️🍋

very masculine, i had to double check that this was for women. smells awful on my skin, like some cheap drugstore fragrance that has gone rancid. it's so bad on me that i had to wash it off.

When I was trying to stingily apply some of my 1ml sample, I accidentally spilled most of it - fortunately right on my wrist. But that turned out to be necessary to detect the fragrance at all, for it has the lightest of all scents I have ever tried (hardly believable that it is EdP). It is a *barely* fruity scent; the only way the non-citrus edibles come through is in the delightful sweetness of the scent, which is neither sugary nor honey-like and cannot be pinned on any of the flowers. As for the bouquet at the heart of this fragrance, I fully agree with fragrancefiend - the rose doesn't dominate. In fact, the flowers are so well-blended, that you can detect each one individually, and at the same time not loose sight of their perfectly balanced harmony. The same goes for the lovely base - none of the notes dominate but rather unite into a single voice of individually recognizable timbres. The woods are real but not gnarly; the patchouli is fresh but not pungent; the oakmoss humid but not rotting; and the musk is warm but not, well, powdery French. An entirely unique work of art, this fragrance is so masterfully created that it makes *you* feel like a genius for being able to tell apart all the notes without ruining your experience in the process of analyzing it. All of its elements are as perfect as their respective Platonic Forms - and just like the Forms, the resulting scent feels too elegant and ethereal for this world, floating just above it, as if it is not meant for mortal noses; and whatever wisps of it we can catch are the work of a mischievous spirit, teasing us.

It was a gift from someone and as I adored the bottle so much before I smelled it, I felt amost struck by something when I sniffed with such disappointment. I could have a second thought if I never smelled CK One by Calvin klein which I disliked before because simply every man was wearing it. If anyone remember this so popular ck one scent back in more than 20 yrs ago, I'd like to ask if I'm the only one who believes that 1872 resembles so much of ck one. I coudln't even analyze the scent of 1872 because all I could think of is CK One. My male friend also agreed this with me and told me it really does smell like CK One. 1872 is nicer, softer and more sophisticated but they are very very identical to me. I'm very sure that darn Ck One copied the scent otherwise it can't be that similar. But I have to add that, after first wear is off the remaining smell is much nicer and smells close to its price where the other one remains just cheap. I really believe the perfume has to be one and only and not resembles each other. So shame I only spray this when I go to shopping for that reason. I would never want anyone think I'm wearing the other cheap spray.

I tested 1872 without having read any reviews. The only thing I knew was the price tag – 150 Eur for 30ml... And I could not believe my feelings. I sprayed another 3-4 times and waited 5 hours before giving my final judgment, but here I am, for me 1872 for Woman smells like Calvin Klein One. Unfortunately I do not own the One, so I’m not able to compare them wrist by wrist. But I did read other reviews here and there is another reviewer comparing it exactly with CK One. So it was not a mistaken sample, it was not just my imagination. I did go further and I compared the notes of both. And it’s amazing – both of them have citruses (bergamot, lemon) and pineapple in top notes. Both of them have jasmine, rose, Lily of the valley and violet on the middle and both of them have sandalwood, musk, cedar, oak moss on the base. Of course there are some differences which probably add a bit more spices to One and more flowery nuances to 1872...And probably there is some difference in quality and longevity, but for conclusion - I would never buy 1872 for this price.

Magic town that 1872, this will make one get into womens perfumes. Smooth, elegant right away, not intense citrus opening, unique, as in will recognize the Clive level citrus conglomerate but not recognize the actual accord, so like where you have the Roja citruses. Purchased the 2010 bottle and am sampling present day flanker side by side, same realness with considerable differences. Once mids settled, florals and fruits form a magical spot that will keep one locked in for a good minute, amazingly built raum, set place wearer wants to go back to, way past note detection/separation mode, for me, will train more on it. As progresses, personally get the feminine idea, but understand the unisex though, nothing sweet, nothing gourmand, and not too adult florals neither, so: perfectly sersious florals and quality subtle fruits.
